Thank you so much for these tips. I cannot wait to try them! I started aging rather rapidly after I became my mother’s caregiver (I lost her to dementia last year, sadly). Although I loved taking care of my mother (and it was my honor to do so) the stress of caring for her took a toll on my body and my mind, and subsequently, my appearance. I’m on a journey to heal myself, and videos like this help. Thank you again. 😊
I’m sorry for your loss 🕊️. You are a great daughter. Sending you positivity and love 💕 Being a caregiver truly is a sacrifice of love Many have no idea I noticed that the stress of caring for my dad has really taken a toll on me as well. Since Dec of last year we have been in the hospital for months with 1-2 week break in between. I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize my face 😭 One of his doctors said that I need to start taking care of myself as well. So. No matter what is going on I will take time for me.
@@g.pearson4726 Wow! Thank you so much! That was extremely nice (and, healing, honestly) for me to hear. Thank you again for your kind words and support. I truly appreciate it. 💜 I am very sorry to hear about your father, though. I am sending love your way as well. 🫶 I’m glad you are listening to the doctor and taking care of yourself while you are caring for your father. That is the one thing I failed to do. I let mom’s care consume me (which, with dementia, I sort of had to. Mom basically reverted to a toddler in many ways. It was utterly heartbreaking and a full time job for me.) I ignored my health and my own needs. I had very few breaks. It was quite detrimental to me and if I had a chance to do it over, I would make myself more of a priority. So, I’m sooo glad to hear you are doing just that! ☺️ Blessings to you and yours xx
I was consistently taking a collagen peptide supplement daily leading up to a surgery. They had to bring multiple nurses in to get an iv in my arm. She said my skin was so thick they were having a hard time getting into a vein. I had never had that issue up to that point. Along with a noticeable difference in my hair skin and nails when I’m taking consistently. I tell all my hair clients to supplement with collagen as well. I swear by it.
I'm on health/fitness/weight loss journey - since July last year - and started taking a collagen supplement in hopes it would help my skin tighten up as I lost weight. I really didn't know much about it other than the vague "collagen is good for skin", and was surprised one day when I got in a conversation with another lady buying it that it was good for joints and had helped her knee pain. I was partially disabled in a car wreck years ago, was diagnosed with arthritis in my teens, and am currently in my fifties, so I listened with interest, but didn't think much about it - until I got sick and didn't take my collagen for several days. Every joint in my body that had ever bothered me loudly protested and I was just miserable. IDK if it will help everyone, but if you can afford to give it a try, do so!
100% agree after taking hydrolysed collagen every day for 3 months I have observed huge changes to my skin, especially on my neck and the back of my hands , better range of motion in my arthritic joints, nails are growing thick and stronger. I also use trentnion 1%. Sunscreen everyday. 🐨🥰
I love my hydrolyzed collagen, and I actually did a lot of research before purchasing it. I think your comment about people saying just adding more protein, is so interesting because I feel like our country is in a protein deficit. It’s so ironic that they think just adding more protein to help your skin will do the same as collagen, we can’t even get people to consume more protein to help with their weight loss or health goals. When you tell people how much protein they should be consuming daily, the look of shock on their face is incredible. That was such a long winded comment, but I love your answer about collagen 😄
I've been using collagen powder in my coffee for about 5 years. I stopped for a while and noticed an increase in fine lines. I never go without it now. It's the bovine collagen from costco in the blue can with a cow. It's also a good way to get some protein in.
@susantan4651 I use 2 scoops a day. I use it in my cold brew coffee, so I have a battery-operated stirrer from Amazon and slowly pour in the collagen while I'm stirring it. You could do 1 scoop a day. I use two because I eat mostly meat but I eat about once a day.
I have been lifting weights to build muscle so I have upped my protein. I have definitely noticed a little more bounce to my 47 year old skin …interesting. Thanks for the advice ❤
Putting 2 scoops of collagen in my morning coffee had made a big difference for me. It helped me up my overall protein intake (I can't use whey or dairy based protein powders). It took about two months of using it consistently. Now I wouldn't be without it. It is missing tryptophan but I eat enough foods containing it that I don't worry about it.
No , I cannot do microneedling. However I eat chicken everyday and when I eat veggies, I always include carrots. I use great skin care, not expensive but still good. Thank you Dr. Youn.
Can I ask if these will work for people with EDS? My daughter has Ehlers Danlos and she has been told that as she has a lack of collagen to start with none of these things will work. How’re I would be very interested in your opinion. Many Thanks x

Hello from West Virginia. I know your thoughts on at home micro-needling but what about micro-infusion. Is it safer and can you do micro-infusion if you have melasma. I'm 56 I haven't had sugar in 4yrs and I do take Hydrolyzed Collagen. I watch all your videos, lots of good advice. Thank you.
Hi what is the best collagen product recommend so many out there and I just found your video. I would appreciate it if you had some recommendations thank you.
Start slowly w not a lot of product at first. Put a moisturizer on first and let that dry down then put the retinol over that. Just listen to your skin and back off if u get to much irritation. Best of luck to you 💕
I have been applying retinol to my entire face, including my eyelids and neck for 2 years. I am not allergic to it. Does it cause side effects for my eyes and neck?
What do you think about facial massages? technique such as using Gua Sha tool seems boosting the skin healthy/glowy look, but I'm not sure if it boosts collagen production.
Just want to know that your number 1 recommendation of taking hydrolyzed collagen supplement, how long should one take? 3months, 6months or more? How long ? And also once stopped will we have a side effect? Or when do you recommend we re-start again, say maybe after taking it for 3 or 6 months?? How many months of gap after taking it religiously at a stretch for months? Request you to please answer this.
Thank you somuch for this. A friend had given me a hydrolized collagen supplement but I really haven't taken it much, but I definitely will now..now that I know what it does.
Thanks you, super helpful. Is taking sources of vitamin A, such as beef liver, as good as taking beta carotene (given our bodies convert beta carotene into vitamin A) or is there something special about beta carotene that makes it preferable to taking vitamin A?
Apparently taking beta carotene is better because you don't run the risk of having an overdose of vitamin A, because your body will convert the beta carotene into only the needed amount of vitamin A. I think it's possible that you can overdose on vitamin A if you eat too much liver or vitamin A
Doctor what do you think about Beef bone broth protein powder? is that just as good or even better? Is that easily absorbed like hydrolysed collagen powder?
Tretinoin is not an option in Scandinavia, but I just recently started using the Cerave resurfacing retinol serum since it finally launched here. I am already seeing so much improvement. My skin feels so much smoother! I started using it few times a week, increased to every second day, and now use it every day. Would you say it's ok to use under the eyes? I try to be a little careful, but I haven't had any irritation whatsoever with this product so far. Will definitetly try with a hydrolysed collagen peptide supplement as well!
It’s perfectly fine under the eye as long as you’re not sensitive. I’d start slow to be sure and increase weekly, see what you can tolerate. not the eyelids though it’s too thin and not worth the aggro if they get inflamed! Retinol is the most amazing skincare ever. Nothing compares!!!
Hi Dr Youn, I'm the palest of the pale and have aged quickly as a result. I've tried the microneedling (multiple times through the years) and recently had RF Microneedling. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have ever made a difference, even though I've been attempting it for years in vain. My skin is very thin and lax. I tried the RF Microneedling, but now I have an indent on my cheek the size of a fingerprint. I feel hopeless. I have even used Tretinoin for two years and deep wrinkles keep forming (I'm early 30's). My skin is very hydrated due to drinking lots of water, using hyaluronic acid, ceramides and oils. I use SPF 50 every day.. I take lots of collagen building supplements.. Is it possible my skin is just too resistant to any form of treatment at this stage? I can't afford a facelift..I truly wish something had helped. Maybe my lack of melanin has been a curse on my side. I don't know what else to do at this stage. I incorporated a fantastic skincare routine at the age of 15 with Dermalogica products and studied beauty therapy. I just don't get why my skin is so resistant to improving. It's quite depressing really.
I know what you mean about being pale, however I also have oily skin. I'm pushing near 40 and people still say I look very young, so this is what I do: I absolutely love my Dr. Pen that I use once every 4-8 weeks. Instead of gliding it across my face, I gently stamp it (it takes a little longer but it's worth the pay off). If you hate your wrinkles that much you can combine this tactic with a 'human growth factor'. I haven't used one yet, but what I've read, it sounds legit, but can be pricey. Then for the next 2-3 days (after the procedure) I only use a gentle face wash (with no active ingredients) followed by 'BAHA' hyaluronic acid serum. Then on day 3 (or so) I use 'Aquaphor' (or any petroleum jelly) to speed up the healing and any redness. MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't use any kind of retinal 3 days before microneedling, and be careful what kinda make-up and sunscreen you use while your face is still healing. Depending on how deep you go, within days you should have a promising glow. That's one tip. I also use salicylic acid every other day in the morning and my retinal at night. Depending how I feel, I'll give my face a rest and 'slug' every so often, maybe once or twice a week. . . If that! What really puts the frosting on the cake is my overall nutrition and daily exorcise. I am aware of my micro and macro nutrients. The fitness culture, in many ways, overlaps with your skincare regimen. So, eat healthy and cut out the junk food as best as you can. IDK, this is what I do and my skin has been better than ever.
Maybe more protein in diet? Personally, I’ve found eating a lot of fruit makes my skin looks better - along with nuts, meat, fish, dairy products of course..
My nephrologist said i could not use the vital proteins collagen anymore due to my CKD. My facial skin has really suffered from this. Will facial creams be safe to use?
Hi Dr thanks a lot for your informative videos . I have been using your recommended Accure Vitamin c and ferulic acid serum which was really good as it has 15% vit c but recently they have changed their formulation and I feel it’s not the same as earlier can you please recommend any other vit c . any thanks
Saying hi all the way from Philippines 🇵🇭 Dr.Youn I’m Kenny Rose. I’m taking Hydrolyzed Collagen with Glutathione there’s no Peptide is it still ok Dr. Youn. Thanks 😘
@Doctor Youn if someone wanted to come to your office for a consultation what would you say the best way to go about doing that ? Or scheduling a consultation with you?
What are your thoughts of microneedling Vs micro channeling with Procell? I’ve been doing microchanneling but I’m not sure if I’m better off with microneedling.
Dr. Youn, Wonderful video on collagen. How can I purchase your products? I didn’t see a link to your website or products. Thank you for your professional advice and time. l love the presentations and have learned a great deal from them. Best to you.😊
He’s telling the Gods honest truth. Before I went carnivore I could tell the improvement just from collagen. FF more than 2 years later carnivore and still taking the collagen peptide powder plus (I take one big dose to break my fast late mornings and I add a scoop in my water to drink throughout the day) I have never felt better. The deep lines in my forehead have just about diminished and since i boosted the amount I take by putting it in my water, that’s what was needed to finally thicken the hair on my right temple. By the way, I’ve been on tretinoin for years. It won’t work alone. Your diet lifestyle has to work in conjunction with it.
@@vchafab hello. I take 2 kinds daily (I’m being extra). I take Marine from Z natural food & bovine from bulk supplements. I buy it in bulk so I don’t run out. Sometimes I make my own from chicken feet and cow bones and take it along with the powder. There are plenty of recipes here on UA-cam.
Unfortunately the carnivore diet leads to all kinds of serious issues in the body like liver and kidney failure, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. It’s the least scientific diet there is. You need protein but you can easily get that from plants. A “carnivore” diet lacks fiber, antioxidants and healthy fats and you need those for a healthy body and mind.
Great info, having any way of naturally getting rid of sun spots. I have a few white bumps that a dermatologist told me where sun spots and need a laser to remove. :(
I am 67 yrs old. I started taking a hydrolyzed collagen supplement 4 months ago after significant hair loss from a keto diet. My skin is so smooth & baby soft I am shocked ! I plan on taking collagen for the rest of my life.
Hi Dr. Youn! Why did retinols cause orange peel texture and tons of wrinkles on my face? I have dry no pore Asian skin and wanted to prevent wrinkles but after 1 week of retinol use my face aged 20 years and it’s been 3 years and damage still there.
Thank you so much for this advice. I have really crepey skin on my arms which makes me very self conscious. I will try these tips. Not sure if I can afford micro needling here. I wish I could buy your products in Australia but you don’t ship here.
Yes, vegan and vegetarian collagen supplements exist. Vegetarian collagen is extracted from egg membrane and is seemingly just as good as other collagens. You can even just take this out of eggshells yourself and add it to, say, scrambled egg. Vegan collagen is basically all the amino acids that make up collagen. Be careful not to fall for vegan collagen “boosting” supplements that don’t actually contain any amino acids, though.
There is no such thing as a vegan collagen. Even vegan dermatologist Dr Dray will say this. Don't be manipulated by "vegan collagen" marketing. It may have vitamins in it which assist in collagen production, but there is zero collagen in it.
My skin looks great and glows since I added a collagen supplement. I also started to get more sun exposure ( no sunblock unless all day outside) no seed oils and a mostly animal based diet.
Dr. Youn definitely is not advocating for a mostly animals based diet. He highly advocates for healthy fats (not present in foods coming from animals), and a lot of fiber and antioxidants (only in plant foods). Animals contain a lot of unhealthy fats and LDL cholesterol which will clog your arteries leading to disease. Animal based foods also increase inflammation which is the cause of all disease. Your skin may glow for now but that’s not going to stop your arteries from getting clogged and it’s definitely not because of the animals you’re consuming. It’s because of the collagen, which you can easily get from plants. You are on a path towards disease if you continue to eat that way.

My skin gets better every seconds! Thanks Dr!
Sending you positivity and love 💕
Being a caregiver truly is a sacrifice of love
Many have no idea
I noticed that the stress of caring for my dad has really taken a toll on me as well. Since Dec of last year we have been in the hospital for months with 1-2 week break in between.
I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize my face 😭
One of his doctors said that I need to start taking care of myself as well. So. No matter what is going on I will take time for me.
@@g.pearson4726 Wow! Thank you so much! That was extremely nice (and, healing, honestly) for me to hear. Thank you again for your kind words and support. I truly appreciate it. 💜
I am very sorry to hear about your father, though. I am sending love your way as well. 🫶
I’m glad you are listening to the doctor and taking care of yourself while you are caring for your father.
Blessings to you and yours xx

I was consistently taking a collagen peptide supplement daily leading up to a surgery. They had to bring multiple nurses in to get an iv in my arm. She said my skin was so thick they were having a hard time getting into a vein. I had never had that issue up to that point. Along with a noticeable difference in my hair skin and nails when I’m taking consistently. I tell all my hair clients to supplement with collagen as well. I swear by it.
What collagen do you take ?
Please let us know what you’re taking? I want to try it.
Thank you!

Hi..what brand did you use pls?
I'm 55 I lost 10 kg in one month but I developed wrinkle on the pleas help me from Ethiopia thank you I head

I drink collagen powder and my skin looks great , that may or not be related but it is not hurting me, so I will keep taking it!
I've been using collagen powder in my coffee for about 5 years. I stopped for a while and noticed an increase in fine lines. I never go without it now. It's the bovine collagen from costco in the blue can with a cow. It's also a good way to get some protein in.
Thank you for sharing I just started to take it a month ago. may I know how many scoops do you take / day ?
Dear Dr.Youn! Is stevia or equal sugar substitutes also detrimental to skin as sugar is? Love your advice! You are my skincare guru!
No , I cannot do microneedling. However I eat chicken everyday and when I eat veggies, I always include carrots. I use great skin care, not expensive but still good. Thank you Dr. Youn.
You are a really good human Dr. Youn. I wish I was more like you.. God bless you Sir..😊
Can I ask if these will work for people with EDS? My daughter has Ehlers Danlos and she has been told that as she has a lack of collagen to start with none of these things will work. How’re I would be very interested in your opinion. Many Thanks x

I'm 120lb woman & I eat 200 grams protein daily. Nice hair & skin
Have stage 3a CKD. Have had to < protein to 20 GMS/day. I do microneedling, and increased (safely) beta carotene! Thanks for instructions.
Go on extended fasts like 3-4 day water fast. The kidney will heal. Eliminate sugar. Go high fat, moderate protein, low carbs diet. Lots of hydration.

Can you give me a name of the hydrolys, peptid collagen. I live in Europa. Best regards
Tried microneedling on my knees. Wrinkles are WORSE after it.
Why on your knees?
I agree about the hydrolyzed collagen peptised but not every brand is efffective as the one I use.

@DoctorYoun I have very reactive sensitive skin but want to try retinol for my under eyes. Do you have suggestions on how to start?
Start slowly w not a lot of product at first. Put a moisturizer on first and let that dry down then put the retinol over that. Just listen to your skin and back off if u get to much irritation. Best of luck to you 💕
I have been applying retinol to my entire face, including my eyelids and neck for 2 years. I am not allergic to it. Does it cause side effects for my eyes and neck?
What do you think about facial massages? technique such as using Gua Sha tool seems boosting the skin healthy/glowy look, but I'm not sure if it boosts collagen production.
I have a sensitive neck, so I use a .05% retinaldehyde serum there. More potent than retinol, but it doesn’t cause me any problems.
Dr. Youn, Could you share what you have done to your teeth? So bright white. Nice!
Is Honey ok, or, should I avoid it like sugar? Thanks for your helpful videos!
I was wondering that myself because I just had liver and onions for dinner
Not entirely sure but I think beef liver naturally has collagen itself.
Apparently taking beta carotene is better because you don't run the risk of having an overdose of vitamin A, because your body will convert the beta carotene into only the needed amount of vitamin A. I think it's possible that you can overdose on vitamin A if you eat too much liver or vitamin A
Can we take a gelatin capsule as a way to save money on supplementation? Is it the same as collagen supplements?

Hi , love your show, I got side effects of 1mg of finastride, if I switch to 0.5 mg every other day can it possible it still be effective?
Love your channel! Thank you!
Hi Dr Youn,
I'm the palest of the pale and have aged quickly as a result.
I got the same problem. Hope he will Reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I know what you mean about being pale, however I also have oily skin. I'm pushing near 40 and people still say I look very young, so this is what I do:
I absolutely love my Dr.
How did your grandmothers age? You’re most likely going to age like them ❤
Maybe more protein in diet? Personally, I’ve found eating a lot of fruit makes my skin looks better - along with nuts, meat, fish, dairy products of course..
Argireline!! I swear by it!
What are your thoughts on combining Silica with a hydrolyzed collagen supplement?
Hi Dr Youn, if we should cut down on sugar what does this mean for fruit?
I wonder the same!
My nephrologist said i could not use the vital proteins collagen anymore due to my CKD. My facial skin has really suffered from this. Will facial creams be safe to use?
I didn't notice any improvement when taking collagen but I did when I started eating a high protein diet

That’s amazing! What brand are you using?

How would collagen supplements work with a person that has Sclerderma?
Thanks for the video! Do liquid collagens work as well as powder? Also, are there vegan collagens or similar options? TY
Can you tell me the name of vegetarian collagen supplement?
