Silk whole is my top pick. I have tried NotCo alone and in my cooking and still taste the pineapple. I think that may sub for the lactose in dairy milk. Either way thanks for this. So fun!!!😊

The one joy I missed after going vegan was that morning cup of coffee with half & half - without sweetener. I tried every replacement available; all wrong for various reasons - sweet, oily, gummy, artificial/industrial. The best I could do was a cappucino concoction I created. Until Silk Next Milk Whole Milk came on the market. Joy! I have to use 1/4 cup warmed, but it totally nails it. In case any are interested, I also tried Not Milk with coffee. It was a fail because it had a weird unpleasant tang to it. Could be the pineapple.
I've tried Silk and Not Milk. Not Milk had a weird grainy texture and the off taste from the pineapple/cabbage was not pleasant to me. I like the Silk a lot, but I'll definitely try the So Delicious now!
I completely agree about the pineapple flavor complimenting the milk!! Everybody says oh it tastes like pineapple. First of all, I think it's a very faint pineapple flavor, but it does compliment it, it doesn't sweeten it, in my opinion. I love NotMilk! Silk Next Milk was just ok. Still have to try the So Delicious. :)
I've tried them all now. Silk was my favorite until I tried wondermilk. Silk always has a bummer aftertaste that Wonder doesn't have. The only reason I don't buy real dairy milk is because I drink it like water and love the taste so much. Wondermilk is the closest I've had yet to real milk and is the most pleasant to drink by itself.
My sister isn't vegan, but she lives with me so she buys vegan milk. She's a bit torn between the Not Milk and the Silk, but the Silk wins because of the slight pineapple flavor in Not Co. 😕 We do both really like the Chobani Ulta Creamy Oat Blend, probably better then any of these, but it's harder to find and it comes in a smaller box.
I've continued to drink dairy milk, but try to choose small dairy pasture raised, which has a distinctive sweetness compared to more conventional factory farm milk. I find the sweetness of the NotMilk to be like a grass fed sweet cream. I think *knowing* it has pineapple can really impact perception of flavor. I like it for drinking, with cereal, and with cookies. My partner didn't care for it in their coffee, though, and i haven't tried cooking with it in factory applications. The Silk NextMilk to me tastes too strong of soy milk for me
I love how you say allergy-wise, Not Co is the best option. Weird pineapple allergy here 🙋🏻♀️😂 I like how you guys did this taste-test! I think Silk is the most oat-forward, and I hate oat milk, so... yeah... I think the SD WM is the least oat-y. However, as you, Larisha, pointed out, all the "whole" versions are milder on the taste of oat. I've gotten the Silk next many times (as it's often under $2 after sale/coupons); I just half it with my normal milk (which is usually Silk unsweetened coconut, cashew, almond, or soy), and then it's ok.
Great video 👏🏽 Putting Not Milk on my list! It is going to be tricky to ignore the pineapple now that I know it's in there 😁 my favorite to date is the Silk whole milk- excellent in savory dishes.
