Agreed. I drink cow milk too (lactose free) but if lactose free milk is not available I usually go for oat or coconut milk in coffee and probably soy for everything else
I can’t remember the taste of cows milk. So, you’re saying soy is the closest in flavor? I like hemp bc it’s creamy. I’m allergic to cashews and soy (as well as animal milks), so I have to just get what works best in recipes for me.
@@Kishaeva Soy doesn't taste like cow's milk (thank goodness), it just has a similar consistency and has a more neutral flavor than other milks. Which means it can be paired with more things than other milks.

There's too much variation between brands - you could make a GMM on each type and each brand. But Cashew or Coconut milk are SUPER underrated and absolutely my favourites.
Please do more of these vegan alternative foods for those of us that don’t know much! I loved this episode. I was already rooting for oat milk and you guys convinced me.

I use almond milk because it's usually the cheapest for me being on a tight budget. Also if I go for the sugar free vanilla it's usually around 30 calories a cup.
That's kind of funny to me. Where I live almond milk is 6-7x more expensive than dairy milk and triple the price of soy milk. Maybe because it's an "exotic" product.

I've tried many soy milks, most brand variations available to me in the US, and a few in Mexico. The best one so far has been Walmart's Great Value Organic. It has a great consistency, a bit neutral, and not too sweet or flavor overpowering as Silk can be.
I don’t care about vegan foods but growing up with a gluten allergy in the 90’s there was literally nothing to eat or it was unbelievably expensive 😂 it’s amazing how far things have come.
I alternate between lactose-free milk and milk alternatives. So far, I really like cashew, soy, coconut, and almond milk. I like oat milk as well but it's so carb-heavy. I feel full after drinking a glass of oat milk. It's probably just my own personal experience with that particular milk. I want to try macadamia milk next!
I recently stopped using dairy milk bc for some reason even the lactose free milk I used to drink made me feel very sick, like everytime I drank milk twice in a week I would be in pain for the rest of the week and I began drinking soy milk, the best thing about it for me is the consistency! And it also doesn't have any aftertaste like milk does, so far I'm very glad I changed it up bc now I'm able to drink milk whenever I want without worrying if I had it the day before.
@Tendies Offmyplate there saying that soy has more protein in it so it behaves more like cows milk because protein is a binder. Not sure how u managed to get what he said confused with " theres soy in cows milk"

I don’t know if I have been officially diagnosed with IBS but I’m sure I have it. I’m not dairy free but I can’t do cows milk in cereal, coffee, or tea and definitely appreciate a good vegan option for ice cream and other stuff!
HAHA clicking the soy. Links reaction was priceless 🤣😭🙏🏼
Didn't expect to watch two grown men eat cookies for several minutes this morning, but I'm not complaining.
I think I'm in love with alternative Mooshelle
Yall should do the classic squeezable foods taste test again with more mystery concoctions to guess. That would be awesome!
ALTERNATIVE MOOSHELLE is genius. I was crying laughing for a full minute. 🤘🏻🐄
There are oatmilks which is specifically for coffee. It's perfect! Made by Oatly (Sweden). Theres also a Finnish company which makes these "Barista" oatmilks.
Drinking straight up I prefer coconut and also almond. In coffee definetly oat.
There are surprisingly many barista oatmilks here in Finland, I personally prefer Valio 👍 and of course Swedish iKaffe, it's legendary.
@@luneluminous yes Valio.. I prefer iKaffe though 😊
@@luneluminous kivaa löytää muitaki suomalaisii tääl
Ikaffe costs 1kr more so i but barista nowadays 😌
@@luneluminous Some swear by Rainbow's oat milk but haven't got around to trying it..
I've tried many soy milks, most brand variations available to me in the US, and a few in Mexico. The best one so far has been Walmart's Great Value Organic. It has a great consistency, a bit neutral, and not too sweet or flavor overpowering as Silk can be.
Have you seen the brand alpro? You should try it if you haven't.
Yay! Now they should do an updated version of the vegan foods taste test (they've gotten way better in the past few years)!
I don’t care about vegan foods but growing up with a gluten allergy in the 90’s there was literally nothing to eat or it was unbelievably expensive 😂 it’s amazing how far things have come.
@@sailorarwen6101 They should test that to!
I suggest pea milk after you give macadamia a try! It’s my favorite and the closest nutrient profile to regular milk I think.
12:23 Link is so adorable 😂
I love hearing the team laugh
Good mythical morning to everyone just waking up, and good mythical morning to everyone that didn’t sleep.
I like almond and oat milk in my coffee too. Soy has more protein in it that is why it behaves closer to cow milk
bees suffer on almond farms
They didn't say that
I don't know about Aldi in general, but in Germany there's an Aldi store brand almond oat milk, which is coffee perfection
@Tendies Offmyplate there saying that soy has more protein in it so it behaves more like cows milk because protein is a binder. Not sure how u managed to get what he said confused with " theres soy in cows milk"
Nope
Oat Milk and Raisin Bran is like eating an oatmeal raisin cookie. It’s incredible.
