Haha a lot of this movie doesn't make sense from a real procedure PoV but it's still a fun cop movie. Even little bits like Hondo on the radio says "We're code 6" twice and says "we're code 4" as well when arriving on the scene. I'm pretty sure Code 4 means scene clear and back on patrol, so the filmmakers put these bits in just to sound cool and policey. Also if I remember the scene right after this video ends the Police Chief is giving a press conference and says the hijackers had Ak47s which is straight up wrong so they clearly filmed the scenes in different orders, or the scene with the press is meant to follow the film's opening scene with the AKs. Either way, it's little things that show the lower status of the movie but damn it's still a great flick in my opinion!
@@GeorgeThoughts Actually that was simply the Chief aggrandizing the engagement to make the department look so much better for taking down a much more “significant” threat. But the other things you’re spot on about.
@@edmondlau511I found it good especially as I liked Michelle Rodriguez at the time and she was just getting her footing in Hollywood so to see her with Colin Farrell who was just in daredevil the same year as well as LL Cool J and Samuel L Jackson I was thinking to myself this woman’s gonna go places, sure she didn’t go far because of the fast and the furious films and sort of got herself typecast to those films but she does have a good sense of humour in some scenes in this film and definitely not one I would wanna come across in any way shape or form because she’d kick my ass pretty good.
If that second "cop" hadn't pulled out that SMG, they *might* have been able to bluff their way past the SWAT team -- but, no, he just HAD to go all macho and pull out his steel w@ng and start hosing down everything in sight. Idjit... 🙄😒
The thing i love most about this scene is when Hondo shoots the first guy he kills him with one shot. He doesn't miss. It's that key detail that does it for me.
They didn't mean to show how hard it is to follow cops orders but they really did. "freeze, put your hands up, put your hands on your head, get down on the ground, hands up, freeze" guess wrong and they may shoot you.
If Martel were black, the movie would have been 15 minutes long because the airport cops would have put 13 bullets in him for having a knife at the airport.
@@Timboslice475 he’s objectively corrupt in that show. He starts off sketchy and by the end just because he’s teamed up with someone seeking revenge doesn’t make it on the up and up
I love it when there is an action going on and someone always is recording it while it happening like it'll make a difference. They always miss key details
Just for the record yes this is one of my favorite movies But reality in the justice world they would of never taken and innate from a facility until he or she is identified properly just for this safety reason and the chancs of an event like this happening

More realistic call a "10-97" (arrival on the scene) when they saw the bus, a "Code 6 A" (Investigating and requires assistance (instead of the Code 4)... and then a "Code 4" (no further units required) after the shooting. Nor to mention a "Code 99" (emergency) during the shooting. If my LAPD "terminology" is correct. Greetings.
This movie was actually really good. Solid action, solid story, solid actors.
What part of "Stand by until we confirm" did that deputy NOT get? That does NOT mean "pull over and let them aboard."
Right
Well, he's dead, right? Pretty much answers your question regarding his capability levels to do his job.

Exactly! Keep rolling. Also advise that they have a HVT. and get SWAT to move in for the escort
I love it when Hondo (Jackson) says "Move again" as he points a Kimber 1911 at his head.
the duality of police instructions
Say "what" again!! Say "what" again!! I dare you, I double dare you motherf---er!!
I remember seeing this in the theatre back in 2003, I was 14 and I remember the trailer being totally rad.
"rad" Lol, you brining me back to 2008
The trailer hyped it up big but I found the movie to be quite disappointing
Hi other grant. I was barely in diapers then
Yeah same I went with my entire class to watch it, back then we only had to pay child prices

I'm pretty sure it's a stand op in prison transport not to stop even when being pulled over by a patrol vehicle

And it takes them several shots to take out the other guy
Yea cause he braced his handgun on the side mirror.
4:07 I want to kick a door like hondo….. 😂😂😂😂😂
This is the best interpretation - no shade to the TV show running though
Is it worth watching??? Like at all?
Man, so this is what happened to Herc after he left Baltimore
Few years later he decides to quit the police force and starts caring for his elderly father who's a mob boss in New York (Tulsa King)
And Norman Wilson went into law enforcement in LA.
The wire was a great show, then season 5 happened

3:25 are they running Springfield 1911’s?!
LAPD SWAT carry custom 1911s, at least during this movie's time.
I think they were Kimbers actually

Back before there was You Tube, being able to record life shooting is considered rare and the video could be sold to make a good sum of money.

PG-13. Now that I’m an adult I feel like this would’ve been 10 times better if it was R rated lmao still a great movie overall.
