    hi there that is one of the reasons i dont use my grapple for moving logs , i use forks , the load has to be balanced , with a grapple you may not have a balanced load and only find out when you get into a awkward situation. ,i know you will be safe . best to all john

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 місяців тому

      Very true, take care.

    • @lonniechartrand
      @lonniechartrand 8 місяців тому +2

      I have to disagree.
      I feel it is much safer hauling my logs with my grapple than with my forks.
      Even with the grapple you will know if your load is unbalanced and can adjust accordingly.
      With the forks you have to be concerned about the logs rolling, or flipping off of the forks. I will use my grapple over the forks any day.
      But this is me. Each person has their own comfort level, and only they can decide what is best for them.

    OH NO! That woulda been a bummer. It's too bad you don't have some gravel in your soil down there...that'd really help pack in those fixed spots as I imagine they will stay pretty soft.

    Looks like that 7 inches of rain filled up your swampy area of the property. It’s either feast or famine for us with rain.
    Glad you didn’t tip over for sure. That’s a scary feeling when you are in large piece of equipment.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 місяців тому +1

      And now we are adding another 2 inches to the swamp today. Trail is going to be a mess.

  • @popperbits
    @popperbits 8 місяців тому

    Andrew, curious as to why you would use a sandy soil to fill low spots on a trail that has a pretty good incline especially with the amount of rain you get it seems that it would constantly erode and undo all your work.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 місяців тому

      I don't have any other fill available to me other than asphalt millings. I might top it with some of those.

    If you can get to the top of your borrow pit, hill, dig from the top. You can slope it and push the loose off after loosening it with hoe.
    Beautiful place.
