  • This is how I make money flipping furniture! I picked up this Lane Cedar chest from Facebook Marketplace for $25 because I knew it would make an adorable and profitable little flip! I modernized it with some new feet and a fresh new paint job and made it safe again by removing the dangerous old lock. Go check out Charlene at https. kennedy.withlove

You are so generous in sharing products and techniques. You do not need to share your costs or pricing. You have worked hard to learn what works for your market. You are allowed to keep some things to yourself, so please do not feel pressured by viewers to spill all.

It’s beautiful, I think people sometimes forget or don’t quite understand that time and hard work deserves to be compensated. I really appreciate the cost breakdown and think what you charge is extremely fair considering what a piece like this would cost in a showroom. You’re highly skilled and your work speaks for itself so the pricing is a reflection of that. It turned out beautiful and it’s cedar lined💓 awesome !

Really good flip. Since there were decorative wood squares on the front of the chest, I loved your choice of square legs and handles. The colour you chose gave a subtle feminine finish to a rather masculine piece.

I loved the flip. I have 2 chests that I was going to get rid off. But now I will up date them. Although I am glad that you removed the skirting I really didn’t particularly like the legs that you put on. Not a criticism just a different preference.

scuffing up the inner cedar lining also "reactivates" the cedar! I'm glad you left the Lane tag inside. I have my grandmother's Lane cedar chest from the early 50's (a totally different style!). I use it next to my pellet stove and store my pellets in it. I've been thinking about painting it now thinking about it more! Thank you for sharing your expertise!!

It always amazes me how much difference it makes to change up the base/ legs/ hardware. And painting minimizes that fussy (to me) design on the front. Great job as usual.

It was tradition in our family “if” you graduated from high school..you got a cedar chest...but I ran away from home just after senior year started and never got my cedar chest..... best thing I ever did though,..found my Lord and Savior during that time.....but always wanted a cedar chest too....we are funny human beings, YES! God bless y’all abundantly and stay safe and healthy!

You are right, when it has to do with the price of your work there is no need to going too much explanation because every situation is different, and the most important thing is the love you have for your work with that dedication you show while you are working. Love the way you explain everything although you did not have to do that, but it shows that you care about your viewer questions. On my part, I love your dedication, and your talent with the flipping of furniture. Love your work.

I admittedly have a type A personality, so the attention to detail when you caulked those gaps just made my day. To me, that took the piece up another level, even if it was a simple task. That pink is really nice. I like that it is pink, but could *almost* pass for white depending on the lighting and surroundings.

Katie, I use the same primer. I use press n seal on my paint tray and I use a small container of denatured alcohol to just drop the roller in. I use a foam roller. When I go to use the shellac based I always add a bit of denatured alcohol to the primer. Not too much but it makes the primer flood and leaves ZERO lines!

Thank you so much for close-ups, I just mentioned this to another talented YT, close-ups are vital for people wanting to try a technique because it all looks good from afar. So many times I wanted to see texture, paint finish, seams, joints, etc but couldn't because the UA-camr wants to put their best foot forward, which is fine I get it, but the majority of people are not going to knock anyone for a few imperfections that quite possibly couldn't be fixed anyways
