Night and day transformation! I have missed seeing you on UA-cam. Nice to have you as part of this challenge.
Thank you! I was quite excited when Jay announced it - couldn't pass this up!
Very understated for the quality of work you do! You narrate the whole thing as if it was so easy and the final result was breathtaking. Well done you!
Thank you for this! I truly appreciate hearing this ❤️
Totally agree! Such a laissez-faire this is no big deal when the work was incredibly challenging 😉! Well done and great to be with such talented company!
I have to agree fully. I appreciate you explaining many of the tasks you were doing. It definitely helps othered to learn. Kudos !! ♥️😊👍
Wow
NOW it looks like a Drexel furniture piece! Good choices on the stain and finish choices. Beautiful color. The new knobs look even better than the originals.
I was soo happy to see you as part of this collaboration!! I miss your videos
🤩
Beautiful job. She can finally breathe without the pink paint. Who would’ve known that beautiful wood was under all that.
I think Drexler was a high-end furniture company if I remember in my old age. God bless all of you that restore this Furniture.
So happy to see you were part of this challenge. I have missed your videos! Fantastic job on the dresser!
Thank you!! 😊
What a remarkable transformation! You did an amazing job removing the stain on the top, filling and disguising those nail holes and reconstructing that drawer detail. That stain and the new drawer pulls completed this stunning conversion! Fantastic job! 👏👍👏
Great job turning this pink plunder into a true thing of beauty.😊
I like that 'Pink Plunder'! Thanks! 😊
Your patience and persistence with this wooden cup inspired me. Amazing transformation!
Good grief what a great job! Who could have predicted such a beautiful transformation? You should be very proud of your work here.
Thank you 😊
The before version was a true eyesore. The final version is wonderful.
Beautiful, I can understand incompetent people painting as they do not know how to do anything better. Thankfully, there are people like you who can rescue and revive. 😊🎉❤❤❤
Beautiful restoration, Emily. You can see the design lines of the dresser now. It’s lovely to see you on UA-cam for this challenge. I always enjoy watching your work.🌸
Thanks so much Deborah! Happy to see a comment from you! 💜
As a lover and owner of MCM furniture, I’m always so happy to see people, like you, who love bringing these pieces back to “beauty”. Great job!!!
Wow, thank you!
Night and day. Your patience with those wooden cups was incredible.
Yooooooo Emily!! So HAPPY to see a video from you. What an honor to be amongst all these talented individuals & part of this challenge. Hoping all is well my friend, Dirty Jersey out!!
Thanks so much Mike!
From Paisleigh's playroom to Mr. Silver's executive suite. Wow! I've not seen a piece like this before. _IT'S GORGEOUS._ You do fantastic work! Thanks for bringing back its glory 🤎
Absolutely Gorgeous! I love that folks are restoring to original rather than painting over some of these hidden gems. ❤️
You did an amazing job in restoring this dresser to its former glory.
Omg!!!! How did she do this!! . How she redid the holes and handles on the drawers was amazing
I've missed you!! Beautiful restoration of the chest of drawers.
More to come! The furniture pile has been looming for far too long.
Good on you for trying the weaving! I totally understand the frustration of the 30 minute mistake. I’m a knitter, so I know all about time loss and frayed nerves. I’m glad you got some wine and your baby is adorable!
Beautiful! Great job fixing those wooden cups.
What a difference from before to after. I would be proud to have a piece like this in my home.
Holy cow! What a transformation! The work you did to rescue that original drawer detail demonstrates the kind of artisan restorer you are. Kudos!
Thank you so much 😀
You restored its dignity!
So nice to see you again.
Absolutely gorgeous! So nice to see refurbishing instead of repainting. You "Smashed it"!👏
Holy smokes. A million times better. It looks amazing.
😮 Wow! I mean, anything would have been an improvement, but that's an entirely new piece of furniture! What a stunning and worthwhile transformation. So happy you got your hands on it. Well done!
The little cups on the drawers are a cute feature. I am glad you were able to restore them.
They are really cute! Thanks Diane!
I had never seen that feture b4. Piece turned out very brautiful.
It's very nice to see you again!
Thank you! Happy to be working on furniture again!
Wow! Such a beautiful piece! Thank the gods you saved it from the trash bin!
Omg your back. So nice to have a new transformation from you.
I’ve missed you. I’m so glad you decided to participate. Amazing results.
Thank you so much!
You did an amazing job. I would’ve given up when that drawer pull broke.
Yay! Emily's back! Missed you! Well done 👍
wow that dresser was full of surprises! awesome job bringing it back to its former glory!
Thank you 😊😊
What a beautiful transformation! You patience and perseverance paid off. So glad you joined the challenge. Always great to see amazing talent.
Wonderful transformation!!! It looks so fantastic!!!! I'm so glad to see your work again, you have been missed!
Thank you Kim! ❤️
This was definitely one of the more damaged and technically difficult pieces in the competition. You did an excellent job! I could have used more explanations.
Nice choice for the pulls. I think they look even better than the originals. You are truly an artist. Beautiful job. Wonderful tutorial.
Its hard to believe that is the same piece!!! Wonderful job!!
What a remarkable job you did! WOW had no idea it would turn out so wonderful. I honestly thought those cups holding the drawer pulls were plastic so when you tried to save them it was a puzzle, I am so glad you saved them it makes the piece, and with you doing the restoring it turned out fabulous. You are so talented, thank you also for talking us through your thoughts, what and why you are doing a particular treatment. It truly helps us viewers understand the difficulties that can happen with pieces you are restoring.
Wow! The drawer pulls are everything on this piece. You did a fantastic job; it's a lovely dresser now!
Thanks so much! 😊
Beautiful restoration. When shortening a bolt, screw on a nut above the cut. After removing burrs from the cut, remove the nut to dress the threads.
That piece looked pretty hopeless in the beginning but you did an exceptional job restoring it. It turned out fabulously. Great job!
Thank you!
Wow amazing. I like the new drawer pulls better than the originals. Well done!
Oh my! Emily, that's superb! 😍😘 Who wouldn't want that in their home? It required enough restoration to make this very interesting, but not so much that one was eager to see it finished. Two thumbs up from me. 😁🤗💖👍👍👋
Thanks so much! 😊
I was so happy to see you in this challenge! You're looking very well. This project was magic, fabulous!!!!❤
Thank you so much Gail! ❤️
Great to see you again! You did a fantastic job with this piece, I admire your tenacity with that drawer-pull circle thing.
That piece has lovely lines--and now it looks lovely, too!
very nice! Glad to see you again, it's been a long time! Please stay!
Furniture mountain has grown and requires attention... just need to figure out what to do next!
Whoa, looks so great!! From looking kinda pricey at $30 to looking like a million bucks ❤
Hard to believe that is the same piece! Well done!
beautifully restored piece of furniture. Definitely Mid Century having seen pieces like this in my youth 😄😉
Considering where you started from, this looks FANTASTIC! I was especially impressed with the detail repair on the drawer face (circle piece), keep up the good work!
Great work on that vintage Drexel chest. I have Drexel Mid Century headboard that my husband and I bought as a newly married couple. Still love it! Quality is lasting! Carol from California
That turned out such a beautiful color! You have so much patience with removing the old paint. Great job! ❤
Thanks so much 😊
So many challenging veneer repairs! You did an AMAZING RESTORATION! Thanks so much for sharing
that chest of drawers was a mess. Good job.
I’m discovering so many channels from this challenge! Thank you for taking part.
I actually like the new hardware better than the original. It suits the new finish and adds a touch of class.
The new finish is absolutely GORGEOUS! You have a good eye for choosing the right finish for this project.
Thank you Shirley! I wasn't certain the new hardware would be well received, but I tried to get ones that were unique but still within the same shape.
LOVE how it turned out. It looks brand new!
Lovely seeing you back on UA-cam. Missed watching your skills!
Wow, wow, wow!! That was a bunch of hard work, but you rocked it!! I am so glad you didn’t just say forget it and take off the knob details! I love cherrywood and its color!! Wonderfully done!😊❤
Thank you so much! 😊😊
Where do I begin!!?? Welcome back WWW, happy to see you here. The thumbnail picture got me good, I thought it was a miniature! I love minatures lol. Then when that first piece broke off I felt your pain. You did the most amazing job on this, I just can't!! It is absolutely beautiful, amazing work. What a find and good eye to see its potential. Bravo once again!! ❤
I've missed you. You've still got the touch! Your careful ministrations brought that piece back from pink purgatory. Nice work!
Thank you Patricia! 🙂
What a transformation!!! Wonderful work in bringing this piece back!!
Wòw! Its gorgeous now! Your understated delivery makes this miraculous transformation almost seem simple.
You've been missed! What a nice flip!!
From pink disaster to mcm and looking smart. Nice.
This is truly a transformation! Great work and the result is impressive - a beautiful cherry wood dresser.
SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS RESTORATION! I love the uniformity of the wood color! Thanks so much for sharing
First of all, YAY YOU’RE BACK! And second, marvelous job!
Thank you!!
Very nice restoration! I miss your poetry.
I don't like those drawer handles, but I don't know the exact rules set down for the "challenge." I definitely would have switched them out for something different. This still turned out stunning! GREAT WORK!!
That is one lovely piece of furniture...great job on the color!
What an absolutely stunning transformation!!!
Wonderful and without any paint in sight.
Very nice! Glad you were able to resurrect the cup part of the pulls.
Great work. Toning the stain was a great idea. You worked so hard to save the wooden circle buttons. The narration was on point and directed to us I subscribed a while back. I look forward to watching future shows and ensuring I have see all the past ones. Next time show off the new pulls more. Thlooked great. ❤❤❤❤
A remarkable transformation! Ken from Alabama USA
This must have taken you ages. I admire your patience Emily. It looks wonderful
I’ve stripped many pieces of furniture n you tackling this pink dresser with ease. But I know it had to be frustrating many times. With the drawer pieces coming off n the holes n don’t forget the big stain on top. I think you did amazing job on her. She’s beautiful as she once was. I’m sure you have to look closely where you weren’t satisfied with some areas. You very good at what you do. I’m definitely impressed.
♥️😊👍👍👍👏👏🌟
Emily's back! From outer space! I just tuned in to find you here with a pink dresser at your place! Awesome job and great to see you making a new vid, girl!
At first I was afraid! I was petrified. Kept thinking I would never finish stripping this in time. But then I spent so many nights just scraping by, and it took long and I forgot the rest of the lyrics to this sonngg... 😀 Thank you Richard!
I could hear Gloria Gaynor singing your lyrics!😀🤗@@ReconstructingEmily
Wow! Fantastic attention to detail! It looks beautiful now.
Oh my goodness! It came out amazing!! Great job!
Wow! I was a bit worried about this piece a few minutes into the video. It looks great now!
Good to see you back! 💗
Thank you! Happy to be back 😊
Ну очень классный результат вашей работы.Выглядет очень круто.Просто замечательно ❤❤❤❤
Hi, just a tip before you cut a bolt to length, put a nut on it and then when you cut the nut forces the thread back to where it should be. Amazing job by the way!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A stunning restoration! I looked at all that pepto Bismo pink & it was very hard to see if the Cinderella could ever be the Bella of the ball especially with the crumbling wood decorations & all that icky white paint! Ugh! But once again you pulled of a real feat and brought this classy dresser back to life! Wow! What lovely lines she has hidden away but now shining. Great job. Blessings to y’all, from Garden Ridge TX , Dozer Butter Bean & me
Very nice. I didn’t like the cups on the drawers but your rescue changed my mind.
Oh that’s gorgeous! Excellent work.
Thank you very much!
For cutting screws for knobs, pick up a wire stripper from the electrical section of your hardware store. They have a series of threaded holes in them where you can screw in a small screw to the length you want and then squeeze the handle to cut the screw at the desired length. The threads are preserved and work right away without extra work.
I buy my knob screws in bulk extra long and cut them to fit. No more searching for just the right one.
A friend at work suggested this too. The one I have didn't really work but maybe I just need a better one. Thanks for the suggestions!
amazing restoration. You started with junk and made it a treasure. good luck in the challenge.
Thank you very much!
Absolutely gorgeous! What an artist you are!
I use oxalic acid regularly and a great tip I received from a restoration professional was to use vinegar to neutralize the acid wash and then rinse several times with water. If the the crystals are not neutralized, they will continue to eat away at the top surface of the wood, damaging the integrity of the wood in the future. Hope that helps!
welcome back! Lovely restoration!
Love that you teach while you work your magic. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
