    NOW it looks like a Drexel furniture piece! Good choices on the stain and finish choices. Beautiful color. The new knobs look even better than the originals.

    What a remarkable transformation! You did an amazing job removing the stain on the top, filling and disguising those nail holes and reconstructing that drawer detail. That stain and the new drawer pulls completed this stunning conversion! Fantastic job! 👏👍👏

    Good on you for trying the weaving! I totally understand the frustration of the 30 minute mistake. I’m a knitter, so I know all about time loss and frayed nerves. I’m glad you got some wine and your baby is adorable!

    This was definitely one of the more damaged and technically difficult pieces in the competition. You did an excellent job! I could have used more explanations.

    What a remarkable job you did! WOW had no idea it would turn out so wonderful. I honestly thought those cups holding the drawer pulls were plastic so when you tried to save them it was a puzzle, I am so glad you saved them it makes the piece, and with you doing the restoring it turned out fabulous. You are so talented, thank you also for talking us through your thoughts, what and why you are doing a particular treatment. It truly helps us viewers understand the difficulties that can happen with pieces you are restoring.

    Beautiful restoration. When shortening a bolt, screw on a nut above the cut. After removing burrs from the cut, remove the nut to dress the threads.

    I actually like the new hardware better than the original. It suits the new finish and adds a touch of class.
    The new finish is absolutely GORGEOUS! You have a good eye for choosing the right finish for this project.

    I don't like those drawer handles, but I don't know the exact rules set down for the "challenge." I definitely would have switched them out for something different. This still turned out stunning! GREAT WORK!!

    Great work. Toning the stain was a great idea. You worked so hard to save the wooden circle buttons. The narration was on point and directed to us I subscribed a while back.     I’ve stripped many pieces of furniture n you tackling this pink dresser with ease. But I know it had to be frustrating many times. With the drawer pieces coming off n the holes n don’t forget the big stain on top. I think you did amazing job on her. She’s beautiful as she once was. I’m sure you have to look closely where you weren’t satisfied with some areas. You very good at what you do. I’m definitely impressed.

      At first I was afraid! I was petrified. Kept thinking I would never finish stripping this in time. But then I spent so many nights just scraping by, and it took long and I forgot the rest of the lyrics to this sonngg... 😀 Thank you Richard!

    Hi, just a tip before you cut a bolt to length, put a nut on it and then when you cut the nut forces the thread back to where it should be. Amazing job by the way!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

    A stunning restoration! I looked at all that pepto Bismo pink & it was very hard to see if the Cinderella could ever be the Bella of the ball especially with the crumbling wood decorations & all that icky white paint! Ugh! But once again you pulled of a real feat and brought this classy dresser back to life! Wow! What lovely lines she has hidden away but now shining. Great job.     For cutting screws for knobs, pick up a wire stripper from the electrical section of your hardware store. They have a series of threaded holes in them where you can screw in a small screw to the length you want and then squeeze the handle to cut the screw at the desired length. The threads are preserved and work right away without extra work.
    I buy my knob screws in bulk extra long and cut them to fit. No more searching for just the right one.

    I use oxalic acid regularly and a great tip I received from a restoration professional was to use vinegar to neutralize the acid wash and then rinse several times with water. If the the crystals are not neutralized, they will continue to eat away at the top surface of the wood, damaging the integrity of the wood in the future. Hope that helps!
