What a huge difference knowledge and experience make! Everything about this china cabinet is crisp, clean, updated and high-end. The colors are beautiful and elegant. This is lovely.🌸
Katie, it's so refreshing that you showed us your first project "mistakes". You're such a professional now and I'm always so impressed with your work. To see how far you've come, that you once had to learn it all first, helps me feel more confident to start my first project. Right now I'm in that 'watching lots of how to UA-cam videos first' phase and yours is my favorite channel. I like your instructional style. Some UA-cam furniture artists do great work, but their videos are impossible to watch because they love to hear themselves ramble too much. Your videos are so calming and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing all you've learned and doing it so sweetly 😊
Now that is a great job! I have a china cabinet and it is filled with china and various stuff, so not decorative. I got the window film from Amazon, looks like dripping ice. I put that on the inside of the glass, you don't glue it, just sticks with water. That looks so much better and almost looks like a frosted or rippled glass. You can see shadows in there slightly but much less cluttered. THANKS, lots of good tips.
FROM : A Life Well Lived I had watched her for years now scrubbing and painting... I started to feel a little gooy around the edges lately -- maybe it was the move - new air and all that ... She kept looking at me -- got that side - eye ! The first time it was just ' splish/ splosh ' and done... Now the eyes told me - more was coming... I'm gorgeous now... clean and fresh but chic -- especially next to those glam dining room chairs ! I'm still here ... front and center Not in the garage -- not in the dump! She knew I had it in me to shine again ... And I do !
Wow, it wasn’t bad and green but it is spectacular in that light blue. It looks very high-end very crisp, very clean and goes with everything in the room. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Very helpful with respect to the products and techniques you've demonstrated... And a good reminder that it's worthwhile making that extra effort and taking time 'to do it right ' --- thank you.
Wow! Love the transformation and the fresh/beachy/breezy aesthetic - love the hardware too! The way the thirsty wood is revived with the furniture salve is so satisfying to watch! ❤️
Removing the wood detail behind the glass makes a big difference. I did the same with a waterfall cabinet that I found on the street. So beautiful as usual. Thanks
I am really amazed how changing the color and cleaning of hardware can make the piece look so different and new. Love your videos and they inspire me to try something new.
Thank you for being brave and showing us your first painted piece! 😉 I cringe at my first piece… 😏. This was an encouragement! You work is always beautiful and I always learn. Thank you, Katie❣️- Jill
I gasped when I saw you pour water in that drawer but brilliant technique to remove the felt lining! Your music in this video is so nice. Another well done project!
From good job to professional job it's in the details! Your level of experience in your craft is what you can't get from Google! Such a pretty colour too!
Hats off to you for being able to paint INSIDE your home and not destroy it. I tried this once before and it was a complete fail 😣 Love the color choice!
Very nice! Your explanation on placing the glass and securing it was very helpful to me. I actually have to replace a piece of glass in a frame window situation and new silicone was involved but now I see how that works. Please include these details in the future for the steps needed it will really help your audience in many ways. Love your work!
China cabinet and baby blue, that’s a match made in heaven! It sounds so good, not to forget the look👍🏻 Katie you just have a nose for color and texture! Wonderful result👍🏻
Watching you inspired me to start painting furniture and I love seeing how much you have grown. Practice makes perfect and this latest makeover is gorgeous.
I am in LOVE with the hardware. It looks so gorgeous. I remember being a kid and soaking hardware with my mom in vinegar and then using “clean king” (I’m assuming it’s the same as the barkeepers friend of today) to shine then up. This makeover made me happy! Love it
I like it very much, but I also liked it with the previous colour. You are very good at seeing potential in every item you do, I also have learnt a lot from you. Thank you🇪🇦
Removing the wood inlay from the glass made a huge difference on this cabinet. It went from drab (no offense) to glab!!! So gorgeous!!!! Experience over the years makes a huge difference. Kinda like buying a black dress that never goes out...our furniture needs to be the same. I think this is a keeper for generations!!!
I love this piece! I am getting ready to move and going to repaint and stain a few older pieces to make them all new for our new space. You are very inspirational to me and I thank you for showing me how to take the plunge!
Absolutely stunning!! Such a big shift. Your technique, knowledge, artistry, and skill levels have increased tremendously based on what you shared in this video. 🤯😯😃 inspiring.
Hey amazing lady!! 👋👋 We learn so much each year doing this. Always improving our work and quality. I would probably get a eye twitch if I had to look daily at one of the first pieces I painted years ago 😂😂 The piece looks very high end now but with a "Im home" feel to it. Something you can look at everyday with a warm smile. See you on the next flip.
Wow. Wow. Wow! The piece turned our beautiful...again. Your attention to the details, your knowledge and experience from past pieces really added value to the video. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I usually work with lacquer but I have a new client that wants me to redo their painted dresser. You really helped me out a lot!
I’m not usually a blue person, but this is lovely ! What a difference 6 years of experience can make. Great job. Your LR/DR floors are gorgeous, btw. Hope we’ll get a tour when you’re ready.
I have the very same china cabinet in the corner version. All the same detailing as your original one. Makes me wonder if I want to freshen up mine. Thanks for the inspiration.
I’m going to start furniture flipping. I have over 10 projects in my house that I can practice on. I have sanders and shop vac. I’m not going to add any more tools until I need them.
I painted my kitchen table about 10 years ago. This summer I had the brainy idea to strip the paint and take it down to the original finish. It was a huge job but had a few chuckles as I noticed all the novice mistakes I had made 🤣. But it turned out beautifully and my whole family loves it. I know how you feel ❤🇨🇦

Great video. It gives me so much good information on redoing pieces I bought painted.

*Going to be a Good Day .. a New Katie Scott Video has Posted .. whoop whoop* ... ♥️
It is amazing how taking the ornaments off the glass and a cooler color makes it seem different. It complements the room. Nice job

What a difference 6 years makes. Good choice of colors, very nice work, as always. You are so inspirational, Katie. Thanks for sharing.
Taking us through the correcting of a less professional paint job was really helpful!! Love all your advice and help. Thanks so much Kaitie!
I preferred a deeper stronger colour. Thanks for talking us through refinishing a previously painted piece.
I love that color far more than the dark green! Great job, as always, Katie!
