The one feature with the Roughouse that I think is better than ANY scooter is the sound of the horn which sounds like a car horn and defenately makes you be known by other cars if you need to alert them. And depending on what size helmet you use a full faced helmet will fit better if set in on it's side instead of vertically.
I had a 2013 Roughhouse and i could fit a full face shield in it all day long. I loved the RH, just wished it has a bigger engine. such a comfortable ride. I am 5'10 and 220lbs and no complaints.
I had an ‘03 Zuma and enjoyed every mile ridden. Sold it with about 8k miles because I was moving. Fast forward to now, I just purchased the Genuine RH Sport Titanium. Haven’t picked the scooter up yet, but I truly couldn’t be anymore excited to return to riding. The RH seems like a great bike! Thank you for your videos. 👍🏻
There are some good aftermarket for the Roughhouse but yes there are more for Zuma. My Roughhouse has a Stage6 Sport Pro Mk 2 70cc kit, Yasuni C16, Stage6 R/T PWK 21mm flat slide carb, NCY intake, Voca .35 carbon fiber reeds, Athena HPC full circle race crank, Polini Hi-Speed variator, Stage6 torque control clutch, NCY torque driver, Malossi green contra spring (+60%), Malossi CDI, Polini digital tack/temp/voltage gauge, and more. There's a quick video of it on my channel.
I have a highly modified 2005 Zuma. I don't ride at night, so headlights don't matter. I don't put my helmet under the seat, so that doesn't matter. I don't carry a passenger, so that doesn't matter (why would anyone try to carry a passenger on a 50cc scooter? I mean, get real) I know how to properly fill the oil reservoir on the Zuma without making a mess, so that is not a big deal. I use the kickstart way more often than the electric start, and have never broken anything on the Zuma. You don't have to stomp on it like you are starting an open class MX bike. It can easily be started with your hand on the kickstarter. I find the Zuma perfectly comfortable for a 50cc scooter, and I'm 6' with a 33 inch inseam and size 10 1/2 shoes. I paid $1500 for my 2005 Zuma from a private seller. But it was absolutely mint. Completely stock, under 400 miles on it. No scratches, living room kept. And there were NO other charges, not even sales tax. 2008 was the LAST year for the 2T Zuma, and there was no 2006 or 2007 Zuma. After 2008 the Zuma went 4T and became a boat anchor. Don't forget, when you modify a scooter, you lose your warranty, if you have one. My Zuma will hit 53 mph GPS, but as I said, it is highly modified (including the variator) with a lot of parts you can't get for the Genuine. I also prefer the Zuma's older styling, and of course the Yamaha name. My Zuma, unlike many newer Japanese brand bikes, was actually made in Japan, VIN starts with a J. The Roughhouse can hit over $3K OTD new, because of all the bogus dealer add ons, so it's new price is a bit deceptive. I'm not putting down Genuine. I have a 2009 Genuine Stella 2T manual shift manual clutch all metal body, and absolutely love it. But the Roughhouse just seems a bit cheap and flimsy to me.
Has the aftermarket improved for the genuine, is there a two stroke 50cc mo ped in 2022 that compares to the aftermarket availability for performance mods that the zuma had?
Thanks for posting boys.. Looks like two pretty good scoots. 50cc is enough for me - I don't race around much. I am about 6' 3" 175 lbs... So I like the bigger size of the Rhouse. The BIG thing with me is comfort.. You guys only focused on the seat comfort only. What about the suspension?. Which one is better at soaking up bumps better??.. In my area, small and large pot holes everywhere and rough roads and bumps are everywhere.. Which would be more comfy: The older Zuma, the reg. Roughhouse or Rhouse Sport version w/ upgrade rear suspension? Also, I have a 2009 Zuma 50 - but w/ about 11000 miles - it is getting old.. It has big bubble tires which really help give a softer ride (these are the original tires).. I let a bit of air out of them and that helps it ride a bit smoother. As for the Roughhouse.. I wonder how much softer the ride is with the adjustable piggy back rear shocks of the Rhouse Sport vs the reg. version of the RHouse?? I have tried several different brands of 50cc scoots and it seems to me that manufactures completely don't care about giving you comfort. Most just give you poor quality shocks, thin low profile tires, and very little extra padding in the seats. I don't mind paying extra for a good soft ride. If you there are better scooter options, let me know what might work better for me.. Thanks so much..
@@zadokmotorfreight2423 I have a 2009 Zuma 50cc with the regular stock bigger tires.. I still love the thing.. @howlingwolf125y I absolutely agree with both the weather and hoping yamaha re releases a 2 stroke Zuma!! With the advancements made in the last 20 years, I would think they'd be able to improve on the original engine, especially since the Rough house is still running 2 strokes. I wonder if the rough house sport rides better than the regular rough house since it has an upgraded suspension.

Only issue I've noticed with my headlights was that the beam aim was way off. I let my dealer know and they checked the ones at their store and apparently that was an issue on most of them. Luckily it's a really easy adjustment. On the roughhouse that one screw below the headlights upfront is the one you play with. It's spring loaded.

Just watched your video, some good information. I have a roughhouse, that I bought back in 2014. The transmission is the same as any minarelli. I am currently running a malossi la furia over range kit. You can also swap the motor for the pgo rattler 110 same bike, and rattler came with a naked handlebar set up
Not a big fan of the editing style, however that is personal preference. I am looking into getting a Roughouse and doing a LC conversion, have you guys seen a LC Roughhouse before? Any ideas for radiator mounting?
A liquid cooled roughhouse is definitely in the realm of possibility, with the minarelli powerplant those swaps are available. You’d have several options for rad mounting, personally I’d remove the stock headlights and mount it in that space, then mount a light source on open bars
Quick question bro. I bought a 2021 Roguestar 50, and it came with regular light bulbs. My question is do they make LED bulbs to substitute those regular bulbs? In other words can I just purchase LED bulbs and put them in place the regular bulbs? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this I appreciate it bro.
Don’t know if this was mentioned but so often the speedometer’s are off sometimes almost by 10%. I would like to have seen how accurate each speedometer is to get a better sense of TopSpeed for each bike
I was going to get a rough house none used around me and the new one after the dealer tax rate and set up is $3,000 sorry it's hard to be two strokes in my I got for $800 it's in fantastic shape
I like how the 0.1= 1/10th of an inch makes all the difference in either scooter being much more suitable for all types of riders as being all the easier to mount, whilst 4 pounds is hardly anything to be noticed. The thought process didn't match. 🤣
Tin Nguyen the sport model gets the following hugger front fenders/remote reservoir rear shock/sport style seat/led lighting/bigger brakes/12 inch wheels with street tires
Question: is the Zuma really only 1.71 HP? and the RoughHouse really 4.8 HP? That seems off to me? Was that a mistake in your remarks? Just trying to wrap my head around that much difference of power. I wouldn't think a 1.71 HP scooter would even make it to 40+ MPH.
Put the helmet upside down... the Roughhouse fits a 3/4 with room to spare. You really think that they designed it to not fit the most popular helmet size?! 😂
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx It’s the bws50 now, motor swap from the 2 stroke days. Just wondering how the 4 stroke holds up. It’s a really well thought out power plant, bulletproof some would argue
Yeah I've been using kick start only for about 5 years on my Roughhouse. Frequent short trips starting with the electric starter won't allow the stator enough time to actually charge and replace the energy used by the starter.
How is Zuma slower if it got to the same point on a road faster than roughhome , anyone learned physics in school or just ate bunch of crappy snacks by the look of things, smh?I guess roughhouse has a speedometer issue. To be honest both these machines look awesome and both are better than anything else out there.
very easy carb mod you can do, then it would smoke that roughhouse scooter any day but ya stock an stock is cool, but the roughhouse doesnt have the restriction on the carb throttle like the zuma does due to EPA bs lol
Hey Jim sorry to bother you bro I got a quick question I have a 2021 Roguestar 50 my average speed is 40 mph. if I derestrict it will I gain anyting out of that at all? And should I put a big bore kit on it?
@@jimsinnovations2737 Jim brother thank you so much for getting back to me man I really appreciate it bro. Can you recommend any names?

Zuma faster has same engine as a Yamaha Jog with a few mods it will reach over 80mph easy look up some videos of scooters in Dominican Republic being modded
Wait a minute the zuma clearly has an aftermarket pipe which basically ruins its ranking. Compare a new zuma to a new roughhouse the roughhouse would win again
As well I know zumas and roughhouse. They both came restricted. A good scientific way to compare would be having the restricted ones race and then deristricted race. Both with equal wear and tear and riders who’s weight matched.
Also any Zuma 50 in the United States after 2009 is a 4 stroke platform. Those Zuma’s aren’t worth half of what they sell for. Hence the reason we compared the bugeye Zuma and the roughhouse. Also in the aspects of this comparison where the Zuma’s aftermarket parts came in to play we accounted for that in the results.
Dude you guys aren't too bright, the speedometers on scooters are usually way off, when the roughhouse hits 50mph its actually only going 42-44mph tops on gps. While the zumma is more accurate, so in reality they're not too off
Real world riding conditions would lead us to believe any discrepancy in Speedo accuracy is negated by stock vs stock scooters….we love the Zuma’s here more then the RH50’s but stock vs stock the roughhouse would eat a zuma up

Just watched your video, some good information. I have a roughhouse, that I bought back in 2014. The transmission is the same as any minarelli. I am currently running a malossi la furia over range kit. You can also swap the motor for the pgo rattler 110 same bike, and rattler came with a naked handlebar set up
How do you like the over range kit?
I love it, goes a lil over 80 mph. I have a 100cc build.
Ohhhh did you have the over range on when the scooter was still a 50?
Not a big fan of the editing style, however that is personal preference. I am looking into getting a Roughouse and doing a LC conversion, have you guys seen a LC Roughhouse before? Any ideas for radiator mounting?
A liquid cooled roughhouse is definitely in the realm of possibility, with the minarelli powerplant those swaps are available. You’d have several options for rad mounting, personally I’d remove the stock headlights and mount it in that space, then mount a light source on open bars
Zero issues seeing at night on my roughhouse
Quick question bro. I bought a 2021 Roguestar 50, and it came with regular light bulbs. My question is do they make LED bulbs to substitute those regular bulbs? In other words can I just purchase LED bulbs and put them in place the regular bulbs? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this I appreciate it bro.
we did a headlight bulb upgrade to a roughhouse and that is a great improvement over the stock lighting
Do you have to mix 2 cycle oil with my gas for the rough house sport?
Don’t know if this was mentioned but so often the speedometer’s are off sometimes almost by 10%. I would like to have seen how accurate each speedometer is to get a better sense of TopSpeed for each bike
We are planning another one of these videos for the near future, thanks for the suggestion, we will be adding this to that video
Correct, a GPS should have been used, not the mechanical speedometers. The results mean next to nothing.
I have over 27,000 miles on my Yamaha C3. Probably has more, still running today.
I was going to get a rough house none used around me and the new one after the dealer tax rate and set up is $3,000 sorry it's hard to be two strokes in my I got for $800 it's in fantastic shape
Is the rough house good enough or should someone get the rough house sport?
I like how the 0.1= 1/10th of an inch makes all the difference in either scooter being much more suitable for all types of riders as being all the easier to mount, whilst 4 pounds is hardly anything to be noticed. The thought process didn't match. 🤣
What a great video! You have made up my mind and I am going to get a genuine
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching!
Great video!
where can I buy a roughhouse in California?
Out of the roughhouse 50 and the kymco 50x super 8 which one is better?
Roughhouse Over the kymco super 8 50.
If your looking into purchasing any scooter under 125cc your best spent money is on a 2 stroke
Siegfried’s Motorwerx whats the difference between the normal roughhouse and the sport?
Tin Nguyen the sport model gets the following
hugger front fenders/remote reservoir rear shock/sport style seat/led lighting/bigger brakes/12 inch wheels with street tires
what about side kickstand?
the RH comes stock with kickstand and they can be added to the zuma
2-$troekrz... VASTLY UNDERRATED
I can attest personally that a stock zuma stands no chance against a roughhouse in a standing sprint
The Zuma’s are just a little to chubby
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx agreed, but a pipe and jetting puts them on par in the short run as seen in your testing! Great job on the review btw
Thanks! We appreciate your kind words of support
Got a 2005 model Zuma for 650$ 5000 miles on it seems like it's good si far
I would take either of those bikes, i like them both 👍.
and they both would treat you right!
I fit my 3/4 helmet in my roughhouse compartment, just upside down
Nice comparison
I've got a 2021 Rogue star 50, my average is 40mph if I derestrict it will I gain anything at all???
these are not remotely the same thing
Rough House for Lyfe
RoughHouseGang
Yes .... nice video both great little bikes! Ok for the next video you gotta take them off-road lol. Keep u the good work
maybe we will have to take these to the trails!
Nice work! That drone was quick..or the scooters were slow haha
Motos Cades & Coffee probably a combo of both, the drone does over 30mph
Siegfried’s Motorwerx what drone do you use? I use a Parrot Anafi
It’s a DJI Mavicmini
There is a 70cc bore kit for roughhouse
absolutely, but there are MORE parts available for the zuma vs the RH. Both are easily modded but the zuma has more available
Your rite. If roughhouse says 52 mph. It's real!
Two different sources for putt spec research, I should have included a disclaimer but I didn’t think about it at the time
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx Ahahha! No need buddy, I could easily look it up but, was just curious. Liked the video BTW. Thanks!
2:38 these numbers make no sense lol. Do u even know the hp figures? What scooter does 1.7hp? Especially 2 stroke lol
Lol I just bought a 2008 zuma for 1200 with 837 miles on it
It makes double HP as it is a 2t. Same engine size, double the hp.
true
Cough COugh*2005 Zuma FTW
We love our Zuma's too
What's the prices on them
The zuma is no longer produced in a 50cc and the roughhouse msrp at 2000 and 2300
I want a recount ! I own a 2005 zuma, LOL !
Put the helmet upside down... the Roughhouse fits a 3/4 with room to spare. You really think that they designed it to not fit the most popular helmet size?! 😂
You refer to yamaha no longer making the zuma. I have a 2019.
No longer making the 2t version. When they switched to a 4 stroke the Zuma became just another scooter
But they also quite production of all the Yamaha 50cc scooters last year
the adv160 comes in and stomps everyone XD
Do this comparison again now in 2020, 4 strokers.
Genuine is still 2 stroke.
So they would win. Hands down. And the Zuma 50 is no longer in production...
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx It’s the bws50 now, motor swap from the 2 stroke days. Just wondering how the 4 stroke holds up. It’s a really well thought out power plant, bulletproof some would argue
Genuine scooters are the way to go imho
if you are buying a NEW Scooter Genuine is 100% the way to go
Lie your just big lol i start my roughhouse just fine no flimsy kick
Yeah I've been using kick start only for about 5 years on my Roughhouse. Frequent short trips starting with the electric starter won't allow the stator enough time to actually charge and replace the energy used by the starter.
we are in no way saying the kick IS flimsy but in comparison to a zuma kick it FEELS flimsy
Is the phone charger for scooter camping adventures? We need a trailer. Tents coolers dogs guns and poles!
The zuma isn’t stock it’s even got an aftermarket pipe
Hey Jim sorry to bother you bro I got a quick question I have a 2021 Roguestar 50 my average speed is 40 mph. if I derestrict it will I gain anyting out of that at all? And should I put a big bore kit on it?
@@bobbylauro3219 yes it makes a HUGE difference man
@@jimsinnovations2737
Jim brother thank you so much for getting back to me man I really appreciate it bro. I don't know why the guy that sold me the bike at the shop told me. it didn't have a restrictor on it when even the manual said it did. And then he said on that particular bike that I have you will only get maybe two or three miles per hour more if that. I want to put a hundred cc Big Bore Kit in it. What do you think bro? Can you recommend any names?
@@bobbylauro3219 malossi i think there called is what u want
I had it 5-2 Rough House.

The King is the yamaha aerox Best 2 stroke Minarelli scooter ever
Tough little birds to find in the states
Siegfried’s Motorwerx WHy ? Im from europe here we have lots
K-1k-1 I’m on the hunt for one of these and a bws 100
Siegfried’s Motorwerx that would be a pretty awesome build. I just bougt an aerox like 2 weeks ago and ordered a 86c cylinder new 28mm carb. I just dont know if malossi hmr Will fit on the new cranck shaft. And i hope the c30 yasuni Will fit the 86cc cylinder
There are no more “new” zumas. They stopped production on the 50’s in 2019
As well I know zumas and roughhouse.
Ok so use a 2019 Roughhouse. The point is they shouldn’t be compared. The zuma used to be the thing to get and now the roughhouse is
Zuma hasn’t been a 2stroke bike since 2011.
Dude you guys aren't too bright, the speedometers on scooters are usually way off, when the roughhouse hits 50mph its actually only going 42-44mph tops on gps. While the zumma is more accurate, so in reality they're not too off
Real world riding conditions would lead us to believe any discrepancy in Speedo accuracy is negated by stock vs stock scooters….we love the Zuma’s here more then the RH50’s but stock vs stock the roughhouse would eat a zuma up
Top speed test was horrible, the speedometer was off!! HOW is the Zuma slower yet reached the end of the road sooner!!!!!!
After getting my 150 I will never do a 50cc again
Only for the fact 50cc needs no safety course ($300) and just a normal drivers license. High school , college, and retired people are big on 50s.
They are ed basically the same shit
That zuma is restricted to half throttle.... Nice try lol
absolutely! the Zuma with the throttle mod, upjetted, tuned cvt, and NCY exhaust was most certainly restricted to half throttle!
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx dang you must be hella heavy then cause my modded 2002 zuma goes twice as fast
I mean you can see that the guys on the bikes know their way around a dinner table...
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx actually make me laugh lol
