Looks like you're not making videos anymore so I don't know if you'll see this. Great and informative. Thinking of buying a Genuine Roughhouse. I'm interested in what your real speed was as I've yet to find a scooter with an accurate speedometer.
I picked up on the Roughouse recently & I'm liking 2 cycle ❗ I was just looking at 1 today , I do like them , I was looking at a White one , I believe I'll make him a offer
I own a Roughhouse50 Sport and can tell you at around 7:36 he is not doing 40 mph but roughly 34, give or take 2 mph. The speedometers are not accurate as to discourage speeding. Although it may READ as 50 mph, without modifications such as performance pipe, etc. this bike tops off at around 36mph +/- with wide open throttles on flat areas no wind and screaming like a banshee. I have gps tested my ride under such conditions. I have gone and modded mine with a 70cc bbk (from the stock 49.7cc), fully adjustable 17.5 mm carb, (same size as stock but stock carbs have the air screw bonded over) up-jet to size 93 (from the stock size 82), 'Street' (not 'Racing') performance pipe, harder clutch springs to match the new powerband with 6.5 gram slider weights (from stock 7.5g) and stock air intake minus the snorkel and the gains are well worth the investment. As far as any 'restrictors/governors' mine came with none or at least removed by the dealership. The front variator in the cvt does have a spacer, but by no means is it a restrictor.
Dude funny you said that I was rolling along in a 40 mph I thought I was going, construction zone, I was only 35, but, listen it will do close to 50 stock top end, you're gps is off.
I miss them 2 stroke motors in scoots. The younger audience members often think you had to pre mix the gas. Nope just keep the oil tank full. My old Vento scoot even had a light if the oil got low
Heyyyyyy just bought the base version of the rough house less than a month ago . Got the 2020 white with 12 inch knobby tires, love it already. Came derestricted runs 47 out the box according to gps but speedometer reads behind the 50. Just FYI. Great little scooter , my toy
Siegfried’s Motorwerx It’s just my newest .I have always had one or 2 around I like cruising on small compact scooters that can be parked anywhere an uses hardly any gas.
I have a '19 with 2,600 miles on it now. Live in a hilly part of VA and it goes wherever I want to go. Absolutely love it! Just put a big bore kit on it last month and stood up a wheelie on the first ride and crashed it. New respect for the Roughhouse. I'm on it every day unless it's raining, then I take the car.
I just picked up a 2021 non sport with knobby tires 12inch wheels white and black. 1200 miles rental super clean no mods 46mph I love this thing I mean is a scooter but very impressive
I was thinking about getting a Honda Navi....but honestly this looks like a better deal as far as power/mpg/etc AND because its 50 cc I don't have to go for an M1 license to buy one! Thanks for the review.
I purchased a 2015 genuine roughhouse 50. Very happy with the speed. Tops 45 50 easy. Great video I need a left hand signal kit. Hard to find. No blinkers, horn not working Also the fake anti theft deterrent is not blinking like it did. Any help where I can find geniune parts. Thank you Riding in Key West
I love my 2018 RH50. Only real gripes are that it absolutely sucks on hills, and the speedometer is way, way off past 20mph. Derestricted from the dealer, mine does a solid 45mph on flat ground. How are the big bore kits that are available? Any suggested setups? Not looking for insane speeds, if I could max a solid 50mph (figure cruising at 40mph) on flat ground and have better hill climbing ability that would be awesome.
*Gauges on these type vehicles are often wrong. 45 m/h gauge might be 40 m/h actual speed. Taller tires might correct the gauge...if they will fit the rim and not rub fender, suspension, or forks.*
Love the review. Getting my Roughhouse 50 next week. Question about getting a bore kit: Does upgrading it to increase speed run a risk of shortening the lifespan of the engine? I chose to pick this up because compared to your cheaper Chinese scoots these are pretty reliable. The area I'm in is relatively hilly so a boost in power would be nice but I don't want to run the risk of major issues early on. Thanks to anyone in advance for any info
I'll tell you what I was told and I was informed by some very knowledgeable people on this subject. If anything big bore kits extend engine life when balanced properly with tuning. Big bore kit alone is okay. I'd be lying if I said there's only a tiny gain. Real gains come from complimenting the new bore with an upgraded exhaust for the best bang for the buck. 70cc with aftermarket exhaust is a dream come true. A step further would be a slightly larger carb. My 70cc/aftermarket exhaust pulls my 220lb fanny up a 12 degree uphill slope at 30+ mph, turns to me with one raised eyebrow and mocks "..is that IT ?" There's much necessary fine tuning that needs doing at every upgrade stage, such as stiffer clutch springs, up jetting, roller weights just to name a few.. Do research and then more research then more research again. Talk with folks who've done it, not just dealers and parts shops who either know not, or care not.
How many miles do these scooters typically last for before the engine dies? Looking to keep the miles off my truck these days and I've been eyeing a roughhouse for over a year now
Not much info here lol I'm searching also. I asked a guy today that rides and he said they last longer than a 4 stroke, I guess the maintenance is more but parts are cheaper? Good luck if you haven't found out yet 😉
Hey, nice video bro. I am highly considering buying a rough house scooter. My car recently crapped out on me and I can't afford to replace it right now, especially considering being unemployed thanks to this corona virus mess. I still need to get around the city though. I figured right now would be a good time to learn while there's not much traffic on the roads. Any tips for a complete scooter novice? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
50cc’s are AMAZING for city transport, when it comes to buying one a I would give a few suggestions. 1. A Genuine Scooter Co RoughHouse (new) 2. A Genuine Scooter Co Buddy (new) 3. A 02-09 Yamaha Zuma 50cc. All of these are extremely easy and affordable to upgrade. They also hold their value extremely well, in addition to their being a great market for them. The benefit of buying a new Genuine is that you would get a 2 year unlimited mile warranty as well as a 2 year road side assistance plan, both of these are included free with any new genuine
Tom P........I am looking now for pretty much the same reasons! I wanted one 35 years ago to pick up girls, now I want one to pick up groceries!!!!! Less traffic on the road has also entered my + list for getting one. I am liking what I see with the reviewed scooter. ( Siegfried’s Motorwerx -great review.)
Definitely a tall people scooter. Me being 5'6 with a 30 inch inseam felt like it was too tall, really spreads you out from how far back the seat is and how the floor and bars are
Damn.. I am about 5'6 and the roughhouse 50 is like the only scooter I had my eye on since it can do 40mph. Are you referring to the sport version with 12 inch wheels?
@@DyLemmaOG id still recommend it! Theyre dope scooters. If you want one thats a lil smaller the Buddy 50, or a Bugeye Zuma but i dont fancy the seat on those. Roughhouse isnt super super bad though
@@DyLemmaOG also basically all 2 stroke scooters completely derestriced and tuned well can do 40. Throw a pipe and a variator with some clutch springs in them and youre looking at 45ish for most. Super cheap to mod
Good scoot. The regular RH too has 12 inch wheels, it just gets different tires, same size, different thread. The only difference is the rotor up front, adjustable shock in the back and the few design features like turn signals, front fender and arm shields. Other than that, same bike. Owned a RH and been on plenty of RH Sports. 45 MPH is a bit too optimistic, I was able to gps mine at 46 MPH but that was going downhill with wind pushing me, in the real world, 40 MPH is its max, when stock, 30 MPH on hills. Both full throttle. Speedo is optimistic after 20 MPH though accurate up to 20 MPH and the gas milage is good for a 2T (80+mpg). LOL, dash is not carbon, rather plastic/cardboard feeling materials mimicking carbon. These are great scoots, reliable, great sounding with ton of potential to tune. They look cool and Genuine was smart to have PGO make these for them. PS, their scoots are just rebranded PGO scooters, but PGO is a respectable Taiwan based scoot company so these scoots are one class above your Lance, Wolfs etc. Same class as the Zumas and the Ruckus in terms of quality, although, each scoot has its up and downsides. Personally, I'd take the RH over many other scoots in the US, (other than the SR50), but the ruckus is right up there, if it was a tad faster it'd be my first choice due to its simplicity, liquid cooling and fuel injection. Bonus points for the RH for being easy to service, a note to all the scoot family, if you get a carbureted engine, be prepared to have that carb out every year, PS - if you get a rattler do a video on it, I personally think that is the best buy, better looking handlebars, digital dash, and just a cooler sounding name.
@@cousinschlappy7243 most of 50 cc scoots are carbureted and if you owned a carbureted anything lol you’ll know that fuel will gunk up your carb so it’s just good knowing how it works and how to clean it. I live in this area or about 45 minutes away from DC and I initially bought that scooter to do DoorDash and Uber Eats on, but it still ain't fast enough to ride from here all the way to DC even if you take the back roads cuz they got a lot of hills and stuff. And you can't take it on the highway of course. So I think I'ma either put me a big bore kit on it or take a motorcycle test and get me a 250 or 300cc joint.

@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx I currently have a 2016 Yamaha Zuma 50fx. Absolutely love it but they discontinued it in North America. At least that's what I'm being told. That's what led me to checking out the roughhouse. My other option is a Kymco Super 8 50 which do you think is better?

I live in this area or about 45 minutes away from DC and I initially bought that scooter to do DoorDash and Uber Eats on, but it still ain't fast enough to ride from here all the way to DC even if you take the back roads cuz they got a lot of hills and stuff. And you can't take it on the highway of course. So I think I'ma either put me a big bore kit on it or take a motorcycle test and get me a 250 or 300cc joint.
@@darnell899 get a ct125
@@campervanbug7658 I ain't fuckin with none of these gear shiftin. I just wanna twist that throttle and go.
Great review bought a 2020 sport after watching this video. You mentioned getting up to 55 mph what do I need to do to achieve that speed?
A sport exhaust and a cvt build, we are doing a 2021 sport build next week if you want to see what the set up costs and how it performs
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx thanks for the reply your channel is great and very informative.
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx what exhaust would you recommend I purchase for my RHS
Wish you could get these in Canada.....
Nobody sells them here
Time to import one
Genuine roughhouse 50 best 50cc scooter out there for the money I just bought a 2021 i had a Zuma and I like roughhouse better
Very nice I want one ty
this test ride is all stock?
Just de restricted
What are the minimum modifications that you can make?
De restriction is very helpful
Also a non cat exhaust will put some cheap pep in the step
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx thank you so much. The video was quite enjoyable also!
We have a video on our channel for the sport exhausts on these
We also have a UA-cam discount code for them in our site
Can you ride with 2 people?
Yes the roughhouse is a 2 up model
Stock 50cc bintelli sprint hits 45 stock all day
Yeah but the dealer support in the USA is slim
And twice as long to get to 45mph
I'm looking for a deal on the roughhouse 2 stroke. They're 2000 everywhere. No way. Any offers?
For a brand new one or a used one?
Hey. A good condition low mileage 50cc. I researched for the late 6 months. I'm a big guy and a back disability. I know that a g rhouse won't fall apart under me. Thanks.
Ps. 2 stroke for me is Ace! I live in a hilly area. People say "just get a bigger bike" I don't want one. It's not cost effective for my budget or need. Scooters are fun.
Love mine.
Does Yamaha actually make the engine?🛵
The motor is a minarelli, Yamaha ran the minarelli as well
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx I currently have a 2016 Yamaha Zuma 50fx. Absolutely love it but they discontinued it in North America. At least that's what I'm being told. That's what led me to checking out the roughhouse. My other option is a Kymco Super 8 50 which do you think is better?
Jeff Macey the roughhouse is a 2 stroke, similar to the 2002-2009 zuma. Much peppier then a 4 stroke
Siegfried’s Motorwerx the rough house motor is not a minarelli, it’s butchered copy without the minarelli trans.
I want one
At night, drive up to a parking space with a wall.. with the brights on.... see the eye's of the "black cat" on the wall?
look at the dash..... see it now?
:)
okay...i am 100% trying this
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx Let me know.I found that at about 20-25 FT from a wall you get a cat eye effect dew to the
single Halogen bulb split with the reflectors.
Hi show me GPS. Run non fast!
Don’t know about65-70 mph tho
A liquid-cooled EFI 3piston 2 stroker would b EVERYTHING
6:51 7:43
The red one is a COPY of the “Pgo Pmx sport”!😱
Genuine scooters are made by PGO
Different countries use different names, and its kinda like how Jeep Liberty in the USA is called Jeep Cherokee in Australia. Same beast, different name.
My taotao thunder run 45
More.like 25
downhill with a tailwind
The wolf rx50 will do 50 without any modifications but the quality is nowhere near as good
isnt the wolf a 4T?
Absolutely no it won't, not stock anyway.
40 MPH on the scooter speedo = 35 mph actual ... Put on a scooter works Non-catalytic converter exhaust.. you will gain 5 mph.. and do a true 40 mph.. which reads 45 on the scooter speedo ..
We find our buddies doing a speedo indicated 43 bone stock
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx mine was doing 40 on level ground on the speedo which was only 35..gps .. but with the scooter works exhaust and the primo windshield.. Speedo top end level ground reads 45 which is 40 on the GPS
@@glenmones713 do you have the tall universal shield or the buddy specific windshield?
Primo windscreen 👍.. really easy to install once you realize one of the screws is reverse threaded on the right hand side..
Over Priced and Under Powered.
10000 view baby
My only comment is all scooter speedometers lie
All scooter speedometer speed 5 mph faster than actual speed..
Every motorcycle is off to some degree as well
they look like awesome little scooters but having to listen to that screaming 2 stroke all the time would would make me want to run it into a tree eventually....
Roughhouse has 12 inch also hes wrong
Prior to 2021 the Rh50 had 10 inch
And 12’s only came on sports.
Don't buy it a replacement gas cap will cost you $100. There good bikes but set to make you spend a lot on parts and fixing it if you don't know how.
Here is a hint from gen x, Don't loose the Cap genius yo wtf 🙃🥴🥴
@@jasonthomas2714 I'm am Gen X 😆 and gas caps are the most often thing that gets lost on a vehicle, out of years of being a bike company they haven't created a replacement cap, this is there biggest money maker, every one has a opinion, you are welcome to it, but either you work for the company? Or just a person alone so you project negative feelings on others you hold inside, and since I'm Gen X I created a cap that will fit in and stay locked, without having to spend the $100 on just a cap, because the generation below me were coddled as kids, and couldn't change a car tier.
@@Civilwar.relics no dude I purchased a 2022 used sport roughhouse and love it!
I cannot fathom even how t.f. do anyone lose the cap?? Either too drunk &stupid, or too doped up and stupid, either way, 100 Buck's isnt much these Days, like 50 buck's couple years ago,
Listen up, basically don't be a jackass and loose the gas cap, pretty simple, lesson over. 🛵💯🙃
