I'm about to plunge into a 924S resto-mod (with an EV swap), having watched your entire back catalog of videos I'm feeling much more confident, what a battle this episode was! Excellent work.
I grind all the leftovers in the floorpan with a grinder I will do rust removal and rust prevention work. And all old carpets will be removed. After that, I will primarily reinforce the floor fan with FRP. After working with 2~3 layers of FRP, I plan to cover the carbon as a finish and finish it with epoxy resin. What do you think?
I don't know what FRP is... I plan just to grind the old paint and rust away... fix what needs fixing and paint it as I would any other part of the car. Put insulation on and carpets. So you wont have any carpets inside?
@@RestorationApprentice FRP is fiberglass. My plan is to first remove the rust and then I plan to work with 2-3 layers of fiberglass on the floor pan and finish with 1 layer of carbon and epoxy resin on top.
One does not just simply “remove parts” from a 70’s or 80’s Porsche. You must navigate a gauntlet of engineering feat that is rivaled only by something NASA would create! 😂
Thanks! Yeah, I'm doing a full restoration. I'll use these videos as a reference for myself as well. Finish date... I'm not sure. As time and budget allows. Few years probably.
@@RestorationApprentice awesome 👍🏻 I intend to do the same restorations on my car (I will also build a roll cage) in 2022, but I’ll start with painting the interior and engine bay. If I’m happy with the result, maybe I’ll go ahead and do a full paintwork on my own.
Thank you for watching and commenting... How do you suggest I go about doing that? Pretty sure they can't be unbolted, but I might be wrong. In my reasrch, anybody that removed them needs to glue them back on the car.

Thank you! Good luck with your project too!
All the necessary work to work on my 924 is in this video, so I can do it more comfortably thanks to you.
I want to send you a Facebook heart.
Thank you!
Love the progress! Will be interesting to see the air distribution come out. I think the whole car is built around it.🤣
haha we'll see. Thank you for watching!
Good progress. At some point I need to strip my car for paint, so it’s great to see you do it first!
Thank you for watching, Chris! Glad to hear my videos are helpful.
Keep it up ! I'm also restoring a 924S at the moment
Thank you!
Great video as always! :) Keep em coming!
Thank you, appreciate it!

Thank you! One step closer.
slowly working my way through your vids and loving them!, can i ask which workshop manual youve printed and referring to here?
Thank you! Factory 4 part manuals. You can download them at "Porsche 924 owners" FB group under files section.
@@RestorationApprentice thank you 🙏
Are you doing a full resto? Or just a respray? When is the finish date projected for?
good idea making the YT video, this is a good reference for us!

Yup. There is always that ONE bolt. Or 2. Or 30.
Haha exactly!
Nice! Are you going to prep and paint the body yourself later on?
Thank you, Oscar! Yes, all prep and painting will be my own.

@@oscaringemansson1826 Yeah, you can practice on less important stuff first... will do the same. Good luck!
You should have unbolted the rear "mudguards/flaps" instead of ripping them out...
