I gotta say thank you for uploading these videos. I decided to take on a 78 924 as my first restore to fill in my time. Having a blast doing it and your videos have helped alot along the way.
@@RestorationApprentice I'm just glad to see you doing this. The 924 gets very little love. Plenty of videos about the 944 and how to work on it, very little out there about 924 issues. I spent months trying to figure out the fuel system.
I am happy to be able to see your video again after 5 months. In the meantime, congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers. I'm also working hard to restore my 924 body for 2-3 hours a day, but now I think I've done about half of the whole process. The rust removal work is truly endless. I'm really looking forward to your engine rebuild work.
Awesome, I’ve been waiting to see when you would tackle the engine. Looks like it probably led a hard life, noticed that there were quite a few non-factory clamps scattered about. Will you be Vapor blasting the aluminum parts?
Thank you for watching, Jeff! I think I'm going to start painting aluminium parts, it's most consistent and budget friendly thing I can do to make it look really nice.
hey Armin, just picked up a '79 924na today! with all the work you are doing especially with the engine rebuild are you working to a manual like the Haynes guide or are you just following your nose?
Hi! I'm working from manuals and other online sources as I'm rebuilding an engine for the first time. Hopefully folks doing it for the first time will find my videos helpfull and have all 924 information in one place.
We need part 2, when? When seeing the 924 (Audi engine) makes me like my 944 2.5L engine even more. Do you know some history of the car/engine you are rebuilding?
Oh, you meant this particular car? I thought you were talking about 924 in general. About this car...I have no idea, I only know is sat for a long time and it wasn't taken care of properly. For example fuel filter on it was over 20 years old.
What a great budget way of achieving a great finish! Well done mate keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear it! Thank you for watching!
I'm in the exact same boat. Just got a ´78. Changing head gasket. Priceless videos!
@@Bob_Sacamano1975 Thank you! Good luck!
Engine videos....so pumped.

@@TravisLunceford exactly, that's one of the main reasons I make videos.
Fantastic how much more video knowledge is becoming available for these car
Thank you for watching! Hopefully when I'm done with this car it will be complete A to Z series someone can follow.
Awsome thanks for keeping the series going, i have a 77 924 and truly appreciate all you are doing for the community!

Thank you! Yeah, I'll have to deal with the body soon too.
You could change the alternator like the 924 turbo position! Is more easy to access
Thank you! Please release part 2 as soon as possible! I'm rebuilding my 79 924 and I'm very crunched on time and I gotta figure it out lol
Thank you for watching! As soon as I find free time I'll continue. I'm doing this for the first time too, I'm sure you'll manage.
must be scary when the 40 year old exaust manifold bolts start making weird noises hahaha
Some times you have to go back and fourth tighten loosen back and fourth ...you can find some of these at salvage yards it's getting rare now
awesome video! disassembled the engine perfectly! I'm waiting for the next video !!! congratulations again!
Thank you!
A very nice Video can't wait on Part 2❤️🌹❤️
Thank you!
Very cool
Thank you!
I love this, ive been thinking about rebuilding my 84 2L engine but i have no idea where to get any parts for it. where are you getting yours from??
From all around the world, but mostly Germany. I use parts cataloge for parts numbers and find cheapest prices for the parts that I need.

❤❤❤
how many miles did this engine have out of curiosity ?
I don't remember... But I guess it doesn't matter as the car was severly neglected. Fuel fiter on it was from 1999!

@@RestorationApprentice Can you tell us more about the history of the car/engine? The engine looks like it had a rough life.

When´s part 2? :)
Working on it slowly... hopefully I'll finish it within a couple of days.
put in a audi 20v engine instead
I'm not interested in a swap
