This is a very helpful video. A couple of tips: 1) Definitely do not need to remove latch/actuator or window rail to remove and reinstall lock cylinder. 2) during reassembly, I found it much easier to insert door handle first and then reattach connecting rod from inside.
I have watched many of your Honda CRV videos and have learned a lot. I have a 2013 Honda CRV. I can only open the car with the remote and not with the Key in the cylinder. The Key turns left and right in the cylinder, but the car does not lock or unlock. Would the cylinder be broken, or would a cable be unhooked? I am worried that if my car battery dies, i will not be able to enter the car.
My 2010 CRV under-hood battery died recently. The key FOB stopped working a few hours later. That puzzled me, why didnt' the ignition circuit and FOB fail simultaneously? If you can't get a jump-start ASAP, leave your car unlocked until you get the jump-start, otherwise you'll need a locksmith to get the driver door open to access the under-hood battery. I learned this the hard way. And i couldn't use my key in the knob lock b/c it had been vandalized and i didn't know it.
