One thing that I would have added is that many of the actuators do not come with the rod that leads to the outer handle attached. I had a fun time swapping that over. Showing how to remove and replace it would be helpful.

I’m also thinking I should go to a wrecking yard first and practice on a couple CRVs before I attack mine . My biggest fear is getting that window track thing lined up . Thank you 🎉.
Great video and detailed but 1 exception, do not remove the rod from the door handle! The plastic piece behind the handle always break. Instead just remove the plastic piece on the bottom of the metal Rod, and Put the new plastic coupling and you will save a major headache

How come I'm not seeing the little "flat head" looking piece that goes into the bottom on the actuator? I never saw it when i took the old one off and I don't see it now...
Awesome video Sir!! Just curious if the outer door handle rod that is attached to the switch doesn’t come with the new unit is it possible to reuse the existing rod? I couldn’t see how it attached to the switch but I’m assuming it should be able to. Thank you for the video and any assistance you can provide!
@tim71ford: Thanks! The rod definitely should come with the replacement unit. If for some reason you don’t have it I suppose you could reuse the old one. You can see a very brief glimpse of how it is attached at 9:41 when I pull the old unit out of the door.
@Joseph R: I’m not sure from your description what happened. Perhaps take off the door panel again and test it so you can observe the movement of the mechanism to see whether anything is hooked up incorrectly.
@@LongologoProductions Update. I removed the actuator and test for proper functionality. After confirmation I put everything back in only to have the same result. I disconnected the lock cable from the actuator, rotated the lock mechanism 180* and hook the cable back. This fixed the issue. The key is a bit rough inserting but the power locks work. The only issue I have now is that the power window is now not working. I will take the door panel off to check if something is obstructing the window and hope that is the issue. Any idea on that?

If I do the same on the passenger side door will it fix the door not stayed locked / randomly locking and unlocking ?
@Manuja Desilva: Possibly, assuming it is the actuator that is causing that behavior.
Fixed my passenger door and it fixed my issue of hitting 10 mph then constantly relocking. Great video btw awesome!!!

How do I take the door panel off if my door is stuck closed?
@justinbeaumont8780: try to manually release the door by removing the trim piece by the handle and pulling on the metal rod?
I could only get mine half way off but once I did I used a foot long flat head screw driver and a hammer to break the old actuator and open the door
My passenger door is stuck on locked, the rear tailgate isn’t opening either. I’m looking at this video and it’s overwhelming
