Nissan 350z Window Motor Replacement

- In this video I show you how to replace that pesky power window motor on your Nissan 350z. These are known to fail prematurely so if you own a Z for any length of time, chances are you will have to replace one if not both. Hope this video helps you tackle this task and fix your broken window!

Lmao I’ve been hitting my door to get the motor to work to go back up. It’ll go down but if it goes down all the way, it won’t go back up unless I bang it the right way. Thanks for the video. My Z’s been sitting for nearly 2 years and it’s finally time to bring her out for the summer

Would have been atleast 6 years since I'd last done this, driver side went out on my ausspec 2003 350z today while in the downward position, was able to determine it was the motor/regulatr thats kicked the bucket, this video was a great refresher with some great tips on mounting the rails back on.
Cheers mate, got the window back in the up position, just have to order a new motor now and do it over again.

Sh!t son!!! Good stuff. Just watched this and now i am ready to tackle my Z. Was a little worried considering the window is stuck down and didn't think it would be this easy opposed to putting tape to hold the window and it being up itself. Perfect.

Great video, makes it look easy!Lol, I will give it a go soon! I had to take out the 5th bow motor of my roadster and have the brushes redone. I reinstalled the motor and now the top goes up and down without a hitch! Saved myself over $1800, the dealer wanted $2000.
If your having 5th bow motor issues, I would recommend getting new brushes in the original motor!

Man I wish it was as easy as the video makes it look, definitely helped me out a lot though. Getting the damn window on the tracks was hell. Took me 2 hours... but I can be done.
Good video, I'm having to do mine. I ordered the motor, so I have been searching for d.i.y. videos and came across a video where it states that there is a reset behind one of the gromets to the motor. I'll check it out when the motor gets here.

Just replaced my window motors following this video, great video!
However i noticed a few things when i did it that are quickly gone over in this, for me it was lining the tracks back up into the holes on the bottom. It was a nightmare, cut my hands up, cursed the car gods. Takes a lot of time and lining up just right. it's actually easier to leave the window UP and tape it so it doesn't fall, that way you can use the window itself (Gently) to guide the holes if you need to.
When i finally got it all back together the motor wouldn't roll the window back up or move at all, i could hear it trying to do something...i tried taking it all apart and swapping the old back in (which still worked on the passenger side) the notch on the back wouldn't line up for some reason after putting the new motor on.
To say the least i was a bit angry at this point trying to get it back on, ended up putting the new motor back in again, sealed everything up, and was about to just give up.
I looked up how to reset the motor and noticed the guy in that video had his door CLOSED not wide open like in this video. Closed the door, turned the car on...boom works like new no problem. I don't know if this is an isolated issue but it may help someone not rip their car door off trying to get it to work.

I have to do this on my neighbors 350z convertible, he slammed the door one day and the window wouldn't go up so after taking the door panel off and finding there was power the only other thing is could be was the motor so i hit the door and it started working some told him if it happens again which it did to hit the door but instead he brought it to me again so I asked him of he tried hitting it like I showed him he said no, some people just don't listen so I told him I'd replace it for him, I've replaced window regulator assemblies but never just the motor which a long time ago was all you had to do, some cars used to rivet them in and you had to have a special rivet gun to reinstall them at least these are cheap at under 30 bucks, thanks for the video.
You got it! Sometimes hitting the door will get it to work a little longer but I just replace at that point. Driver's side needs a new one now.

Any idea on how to replace the rod cables for the door lock and handle when the plastic keeper piece breaks????

Where do you put the motor after you screw it back to the bracket?
I replaced my motor today, assuming my window motor went out because it would go back up. But after replacing it, it’s still not going up? Any idea on what it could be?
Other videos say you have to reinitialize the new motor. Did you have to do that?
i followed this video step by step and now it’ll roll up but it’s not lined up correctly, the window points inwards slightly so when rolled up it doesn’t go in bewtween the weather stripping by the mirror, how do i fix this?

I replaced the motor and now, the window only went half way. Does that mean the regularator is out?
How do you know it's the motor and not the regulator?
I replaced my passenger door motor like you said but the motor now works backwards any idea why ?
Could it be your motor was for the drivers door?

Hey i had me whole door replaced (passenger side) and they installed everything back and before all that my window, switches work fine and after i got it back when the door was replaced nothing works and i mean the passenger switches won’t and it even won’t lock the car what can it be
I replaced my window motor ( passenger side) for my Z the problem is that the one I bought has no reset switch on it. I have already tried different methods to reset it and followed every step, but it won’t reprogram. What should I do?

put window up then Take window out first
