I have the Vevor 5 kw upright totally enclosed unit and priming was not necessary. In fact, some people over-prime and end up with more trouble. For the very first run I filled the tank, because I knew this would assist priming, and just pressed the power button for 2 seconds and waited, it gets itself going eventually. It automatically primed and got going with full heat after about 4 minutes. The shutdown cycle took about 4 minutes as well. Thank you for your video. It helped me understand the controller better. Maybe some units needs the initial priming but mine either did not or primed itself.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE emphasize this controller has a wrench/spanner icon at top left. A nearly identical model with blue trim, gear icon and blue LED readout does NOT have 4-digit code providing access to advanced pump rate/fan speed range settings, essential for use at elevation. Thank you! Your content is invaluable.
I was wondering why I am not getting the same results as explained in this video. My controller has the gear icon instead of the spanner wrench icon. Do you happen to know of a video for controls on my controller
Yep I couldn't prime mine 8th try & now it's on everyone says how hot it is 😂😂😂😂😂 I like heat so this is pants I should actually fit the 5kw that was sent as a 2kw
@@originalAtreyu I don't think they have 3 digit pins, if you are getting 3 dashes on the screen that is the same as error code 7 on them controllers. Either it isn't compatible with the motherboard or there is a bad connection to the controller. Most likely a bent pin in the connection from the wring loom to the controller, a bent pin in the connector where the wring loom connects to the heater. If the screen is lighting up it isn't the red or black cable it is the blue cable. If it isn't a bad connection in the connectors it could be the blue wire is damaged or has a bad solder to either the motherboard or controllers circuit board.
In the video it said check description for video on temp or hz settings I couldn’t find it. And many of the links don’t work says USA, but goes to UK site
Hey thanks for the video. I'm trying to decide which version of heater to buy. What are the differences between the black controller and this blue one? There are so many different versions it's very confusing trying to decide which heater i should buy. Thanks
Do you know if you can set the Hz first then use temperature mode? Or does temperatre mode run at full power up until the temperature is made and then it drops down?
Hi, I have just bought a van and it has this controller. Does this controller stay on all the time? When heater isn’t on? Can’t see how you would turn the display off when not in use. Hope you can help
Thanks for these videos. They helped a little but it’s ridiculously annoying how I’m only making tiny steps with the one we have. I followed the first video to change Htz to ‘Temp’ but it’s only displaying Fahrenheit not Celsius. Iv followed the second video to pair the remote. This worked, and on the remote it displays Celsius, but it won’t increase the temperature, it will only let me increase the Htz with the remote. And it’s still displaying Fahrenheit on the display 🙁
i noticed that some vevor heaters come with a control knob. i was wondering if the knob was "plug and play", and if i could replace the simple knob with an LCD display instead?
If fuel supply is not primed and has air in the system you will get shutdowns with error codes , I was getting E10 and E8 , I primed again fully and has worked great since , you want to hear a steady "roar" in the exhaust , if it is intermittent it has air in the system or not enough fuel supply, I just went through this tonight with my new heater , search the web for the secret menu to change fuel mixture and fan speed for optimal efficiency ( Hz and hi-low fan speeds) , once you get the heater dialed in it wont used too much fuel and wont shut off
Thanks for the video the priming instructions were a big help! Just installed my 2kw heater with the same controller. The temp mode only goes up to 3.5 hz. Is something amiss or is this possibly related to the smaller diesel heater?
@@vanlifesurvivorsguide yeah 2kw installed but haven't got to use it yet because of random Spring-like weather haha -- testing was good but fingers crossed
I noticed that you cant go below 1,7 Hz despite that min. limit is set at 1,4 Hz. Mine unit behaves the same. Thats a pity. Do you know if thre is a way to go to 1,4 Hz or lower?
Anyone know the differences between the blue controller with spanner button and the one with gear button ? Need to update my entire setup with a new ecu and controller/display
Hi mate, if your battery is reading 12v it needs a charge. 11.9 is pretty much empty 12.8 and above is full or charging. The priming issue im not sure. you should be able to prime with a low battery... is it the same controller with the same icons? some look the same but have different icons with that controller you need to press and hold both arrow buttons at the same time and keep them pressed to prime. or if it is the same controller with the same icons the controller might just need unplugging and plugging back in again as they normally only go into priming mode just after they have been turned on. I hope this helps, let me know if it doesn't
@vanlifesurvivorsguide thanks for replying mate. I've fixed the priming issue but what's happening on the screen is that when I turn it on it starts off at like 11.9 volts then just starts going on and switches off at 11.3. I'm using an led driver which is 12 volt 75 watts so around 6.3 amps
@@boabglen ah ok, the glow plug uses 11 amps on start up so you need to up the power supply. After start up 3 amps is the most it will use on full power
It's not this controller mate, it is one that looks similar. With this one you just look at the red yellow and green bars in the picture of the heater on the controller.
Hello. I need some help and I am hoping this may be the place. I bought an 8kw vevor heater but the lcd panel doesnt come on at all. Are these lcd control panels model specific or can i just buy one off ebay please? If someone could please help it would be much appreciated. New to these heaters and their workings. Thanks
Q: Is this controller specific to a particular motherboard It appears basically it's the same functions as the Mk1 motherboard I've named it Mk1, I've now got the later type Mk2 motherboard and don't like it.
yeah pretty much exactly the apart from the buttons are in different locations and this one has a few more functions too. Yeah the newer motherboards are nowhere near as good
Does anyone know how to factory reset this controller? My friend changed pin number and forgot it. He also changed fans RPM and now his heater does not work properly. Thanks for any advice.

that only comes on when the pump is on. so it is cutting out before it gets to that point at a guess. it takes a min or 2 tow to kick in once you turn it on have you waited?

Can I ask you a question I'm trying to pair the small black remote but all it says is waiting any idea.

What batteries dies the newer style need for remote ??
How do you set specific pump and fan rates?
How do you show the run time instead of the clock when running ?
Does it have a thermistor ? A small hole somewhere around the unit.
