Thank you for the simple explanations of this controller / heater. I'm soooo new to mine and fired it up for the first time today by watching another video. I wish I'd seen yours first. I'll explain that I've reassembled the heater into four parts for inside a small travel trailer. The heater itself is a stand alone unit using a metal turret through the floor, fuel tank (kerosene) and pump also two separate items and the contoller the forth, mounted on the trailer wall. Sucks the cable is short, but works. Obviously by your explanations, I've been overthinking of how these units work, but the trick is to get use to which two buttons are pushed for which desired function. Being a 'visual' character, I might copy and paste a few 'stills' of your video to make my own instruction sheet of what does what. Thanks again!
If you buy the kit without the steel box and build your own box with an extended cable run to the head unit 14.2 volts is fine if you have an adjustable power supply, on the other hand we have a 5kw unit like yours running of a car battery with a 12volt car charger attached and it reads 14.2 volts.
I'm not sure you can actually change the setting. I've always thought it shows YOUR current altitude and can't be altered..... maybe I'm wrong and someone else knows more.
Just about to set mine up and find this vid very useful.
@@MrNewcastlelad2009 Thanks, nice to know.

Yeah ive seen a few people extend the cables with no issues but its not something ive done myself.
Do you know how to change the altitude in meters setting ?

I’m getting an E-03 error message. Guess I need a new glow plug, but unit is new, was working yesterday, then spat the dummy…
Yeah you possibly do ....the E03 error does relate to the glow plug
@@dodgydino62 Wish I knew what caused it to fail. Unit is pretty much new, been having some issues with enough power to start it up…
