I love snowy plovers!! Great tips too!
They are such cute birds!
We are down on Assateague Island for the month so we will be doing the Global big day on Assateague National seashore , Assateague state park and the causeway. Should be a great day!!
That sounds amazing! You're going to have an awesome time!
Can’t wait for big day!!!
It’s gonna be epic!
Awesome video
Thanks!!
I agree, it IS the CUTEST lifer!!!! I saw some for the first time at Utah lake a couple of weeks ago and I took 400 pictures (no exaggeration) because they were soooooo cute!!!!!!!
That's awesome! There are quite a few on the causeway out to Antelope Island at the moment. Couldn't get too close tho but got good looks through the scope!
We first saw some that were a little ways away so we were just scoping them so we wouldn’t get to close and disturb them, but then we turned and noticed there was one just hanging out on the shore only about 20 feet away from us. So I just laid down and took a ton of pics of that one. Too cute!!! Love all the shore birds you saw up an antelope island, we might have to go up there soon - I haven’t ever been!
@@chinchillafuzz Oh that's amazing! So lucky! Yes you should go out sometime this month. It's the best month for shorebirds and Garr Ranch on the island is an awesome trap for vagrants too!
Good stuff young man👍
Thanks!!
You should hit up Fort Pickens to Dauphin Island area of Gulf Island National Seashore during Spring migration. I've seen 125 species in a day. Snowy Plover by the dozen nesting on the Pensacola side.
I'll have to check it out! What state is that in??
That was a large day
Around 80 species! Definitely respectable!
Hi from the UK. Good video as usual - wish we had any sort of desert over here! Best guess at the shorebird flock is 6 spp: Wilson's Phal, Black-n Stilt, Am Avocet, Dowitcher sp, Blk-b Plover & presume peeps are Semi-ps?
Hello! That’s a really good evaluation! Pretty accurate!
Flock of Long-billed Dowitchers?
@@brighteyedbirding Forgot to say "Congrats on the Snowy Plover lifer"!! Nearest for me was Piping Plover at Waugoshance Pt in N Michigan during a 2-week birding trip in May'84.
In the flock of birds, I noticed black-necked stilts.
Good eye!
Yea! Great video
Thank you!!
@@brighteyedbirdingI have good news my family found a young birding event for people my age!! I am so excited
