  • I traveled from hours away to get shots of migrating shorebirds this Spring in a single morning. In order to get the shots I'm looking for, I'll need to use behavioral awareness and the Skimmer GroundPod to help assist me in capturing the shots. Hoping to tell great stories and capture a pinnacle image of a Snowy Plover with Morro Rock in the background, I set out on this wildlife photography adventure.
    Purchase the Skimmer Ground Pod 10% Off Through My Link Below:

    Hunt's Photo and Video is my go-to camera shop for all my gear now! They are a smaller camera store that cares individually about making sure your customer experience is satisfactory and you get what you need. If you want to purchase bigger pieces of gear like camera bodies or camera lenses, email my personal representative Noah at nbuchanan@huntsphoto.com and let him know that I sent you to see if he can get you 5% off your lens or camera purchase!

    Your mystery fish that the vulture was eating is a Longnose Lancetfish (Alepisaurus ferox). They live off the west coast, grow over 7 feet and live as deep as 6,000 feet.

    Wow, enjoy being able to crawl along the sand like that! I've did it for miles at your age, but no longer. At age 71, the knees will not tolerate that stuff. I have to sit in a low beach chair now. Gear has improved more than a little, though.

Nothing like crawling around in the sand to make you feel like you've been somewhere ;-) The natural preserve is a treasure and on some days, you can really feel the solitude and wildness. Do you get sand in your gimbal when shooting like this? I am thinking of picking up a skimmer but not sure if I should go with a cheap gimbal since it might get ruined by sand. If sand is not a big problem I’d rather go for a nicer gimbal like the Winberley or ProMedia Katana Jr. what is your experience?

    • @JeremyNeipp
      @JeremyNeipp  2 роки тому +2

      Because of the Skimmer, it was keeping sand from getting on it. The skimmer is really well balanced and grounded so that it won’t fall over which Is awesome. So personally, i feel safe using it in these situations always

  • @TatraScrambler
    @TatraScrambler Рік тому

    Why the mask? It's not like it makes you invisible to birds :) Seems a little silly. Cool adventure. I can only imagine how satisfyingly easy it must be to be able to photograph birds without waiting for hours on end in a hide or under a camo net. Where I live it is virtually impossible. I guess these guys are pretty used to people walking along the beach or something.
