Getting my Harley Davidson Springer Cross Bones lights done right!

- The stock lighting on my new 2008 @harleydavidson Springer Cross Bones was pretty awful by today's standards. My pals at @customdynamics thankfully offered to swap out the front and rear lighting so that I can see and be seen. I had a lot of fun at Destination Daytona today hanging out with the team and getting this all installed. I even got the chance to meet @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle , @TravelingTall , and John from @CYCLEFANATIX !!! All great dudes. I look forward to seeing them all in Sturgis this year!

I got a 93 Electra Glide Sport and I swapped out the old fashioned halogens for LED’s, holy shit what a difference. Love to see.
I am on a 97 Heritage...people flash their lights all the time at me until I turn on the brights...love them.

Twas among the 1st things I changed on my 03 Road King pro beam front and rear and tail light. ALL because of your videos and recommendations I bet you Sir have made them a ton of money lol. My bike came with "LED headlight and passing lamps" but they are not Custom Dynamics so I am saving up the small fortune for those.
One thing I have figured out since the LED craze started a few years ago, it really is worth the money to buy quality. It's not that the cheap ones are unreliable, it's that the light patterns are "messy" for lack of a better word.

Hear ya, I just switched my entire 2000 Road King Classic with Custom Dynamics and was hesitant to keep the old look but so glad I did. Your right, just unsafe at night. Happy you got the bike.
Seriously. On my 09 Sporty, the HD LED headlight is easily, by far, the best upgrade I've done. Got it and the LED taillight back in 2014 when i was in Miami for school. 200% worth it.
What a huge difference. Nice job on the upgrade.
I had an '07 FXSTC and had the same issues. I only changed out the tail-light to the Harley filler LED light.

I changed all of the lighting for my '02 Heritage...twice. Lots of Custom Dynamics on it now. They're really the best!

I want to update my turn lights, the tail light and the head light and driving lights was updated on my RK when I got it. Those are nice though.

@@ProfessionalMonkey Yes sir, I'd classify it a miracle. When the 'scenery' gets a little nicer here in Pennsylvania I'll put a phone video up. Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson has been my dealer (lol) since my Dad bought me a used 125cc two stroke Rapido in the 70's. The salesman told me the bike was purchased there originally so it's one owner. The gentleman moved to Florida & left it there on consignment. I have the paperwork ftom purchase to back ip the price - $6,500.

Changed every light except the headlight on my 2017 RG to the Custom Dynamics Pro Beam LED. Plus I have the control box for the rear lights. I really like their products and they work flawlessly. I just can’t drop $700 on the headlight.
My next install will be the Pro Beast horn.

got a '15 Road King and upgraded to custom dynamic spot lamps. rode to work in the dark. HOLY $#!T!!! Went to the headlight and what a diff. lf you ride at dark and you got stock "incandescent" lights? drop the $

I mentioned over on FB that I was looking at a 94 FXDWG. This right here is the first upgrade I'm going to have to do. Will the module work on a 94 to sync up and strobe?
Pre 2012 FXDWG will require the inline resistor set to get led lights to work. I found that out working on my 2013, thinking it needed the resistors because it was pre-2016 and learned that Dynas were led compatible starting in 2012.
Vern is right. You can do it, but it requires resistors. CD makes all of that stuff. Go to their site and put in the model and it will come up.
Just think of all the things you missed because of the poor headlight. The new gear looks great please show the headlight when completed . Be safe
Hey, I just found your channel!!! Love it very informative.. I have a question! I live in Wisconsin, and was part of the organization that shall not be named!! And I found out I couldn't handle it.. but support it whole heartedly... I still have the support patch and bottom back patch. And still want to wear my cut.. do I have to remove either of them? Or can I run with them on? I was thinking the back patch on the bottom i would take off just so I have a slick back but would like to run the chest support patch? What are your thoughts?
If the support patch is the one that says I support the mission you can wear it. The bottom rocker needs to be removed and immediately returned to the closes chapter. That was supposed to be collected when you left. No harm no foul though. Let me know if you want me to contact someone for you and introduce you so you can return it.

Curious are the Custom Dynamics better than RRI or what? I've only used RRI in the past.
I actually don't know the RRI product, but I went and looked and it seems that RRI might be a reseller in that they have exhaust, etc. CD is a light company, the CEO is an electrical engineer, etc...
Looked for a Crossbones as my "bar" hopper couldn't find one, ended up with a Rocker C

Will you get a error on your dash? I put some LED'S on my 2012 HD and I'm getting a turn signal light is out on my dashboard.
No codes or fast flash at all. Have you done the resync? Turn the ignition on, turn on the hazards, turn the ignition off, leave the hazards going for two minutes, then turn the ignition on, then turn off the hazards, then turn the ignition off. See if that helps. If you didn't use really good LED's you might need a load resistor.

Old fashioned turn signals, that was funny, Hah! Hah! Hah!, yessiree, Harley is still putting bulbs in 2022 models. No need to comment further, we're all over the moon that HD is listening to one of its customer bases as now we have the ST models, well, listens only in part (when it's in HD's interest).

Looks good we got the strobes on both bikes and they help keep vehicles off you ass
I like the running lights I would need somebody like a lighting specialist because mine has been customized you know when people get end there and start messing with stuff that’s not the way it supposed to be
The turn signals just replace the front bulbs so they might work as your bike sits.

Shortly after that i saw a guy turning a corner with his feet down and nearly caught his foot between the floorboard and the median. That would have made for a rough night.

I've used them all and really don't have a preference. I used OEM Harley on the CVO, but that was just because they had them there.

I have a springer and I didn't need a special kit for my headlight. It's the same headlight I promise you
Not if you're using a CD LED. The heat sink on the back is bigger on the CD light so you need a smaller isolator.
