- Harley Davidson Springer Cross Bones - Bringing her back for Daytona Bike Week! To get the Springer Cross Bones ready for Daytona I needed to put some fresh rubber on, and finally get the slick @paughcoparts9816 pipes on I’ve had for months. Finally, a proper base tune from the @DynojetResearch PowerVision I’ve had for a bit. We’ll do an autotune on it this week, change the rear brakes and give her angled change, then Mrs. Monkey’s bar hopper will be ready!

Last year walked in my local dealer to see a bike I saw online hated it , talked to the salesman and he said I have something for you.. walked to the used section there she was , 1992 fatboy traded in from the original owner. Man I love that ole evo❤

I bought a Sportster model 72. They said it was serviced and had a million point inspection. All lies.
All the spokes on the rear wheel were loose. Someone had been riding it that way and elongated the holes in the hub. No service had been done either.
Got you beat ... my 1200 Sportster, It's a 06 and still has the original front tire. Yep ... I'm going to change it..... it's my in-town bike.

Leave the duck tail fender on there! I wish Harley would have never changed them on the Wide Glide or the Softail Customs, etc
So I bought a 2011 Victory to ride to Sturgis this past year and left with a good tire and got to Sturgis with a bald 2013 wrong tire for the heavyweight bike so I guess the moral of the story is make sure you have the right up to date tire before you start out

I have 1 1/2 Factory 47s on my 2022 Road Glide and the bars lock correctly.
I have them on my 17 UC and no problem locking the bars

Picked up a 2016 Slim s back in Dec, and was thinking of swapping to similar pipes as these, think samson or freedom performance vice the D&D 2-1 fat cat. But found out it's had some decent upgrades internally to pistons and cam/plate and pump. I'm slowly liking the look, but love the sound and ride.
Love my M8 114 Roadglide, but missed the twin cam.

I put a fatboy rear fender on my 08 nightrain really like that look better than the fender that was on them
i'm a Huge Fan of the 2008 model year, and i fell in love with the cross bones when i 1st saw one, SADLY i've never owned one, but someday maybe i'll find a used one, but having owned 5-6 TC88, and a couple TC103, i'm a HUGE FAN of the TC96 why i own a 2008 Road King, the 88 was a great motor except for the cam chain tensioners issue, the 103's were noisy and i hated the electronics in them, and the 96 just works for me, my life with Harley Dealers i've owned em all since my 1st harley in 1973 (an SX125) my 08 is my favorite.
There's something special about the 96, I don't know what it is.
I did garage yoga this weekend, too .
Changed rear brake pads, added CD fairing chrome vent trim, installed my new custom license plate and did the season opening 3 hole change.
Tuesday I get a new front tire and Progressive front springs installed at the shop and that completes the prep. I'm ready to roll 😊 well, have to break in the rear pads but that's just to satisfy my OCD 😂
The Mrs did a great job with the pipes in particular as she looked somewhat hung over 👍🤙🤣

Tyres have become expensive fast, last year I got a 90/90 21 and a 130/90 16 Shinko 777's for my Dyna just under $400 AUD, $260 USD, I put them on myself and considered myself lucky compared to some later model wide tyres and ratings, but $772 USD is $1179 AUD bloody hell mate I hope you can race on those!!
On my z1000 the front tire never gets oder than 3 years. Backtire new every year.... for 250kph madness on the german autobahn you need good rubber.
On normal bikes you dont go faster than 160 kph.. 5-7 years is ok..
On the squarebody the tires should hold air..lol..
Hey monkey just a quick question I want to ask. I have a 107 with a 475 cam now I bought the power vision 3b I believe this summer I’m thinking about having get lowered cycles do a 124 big bore kit do I need to buy another power vision or will the one I have now work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Great video BTW. that crossbones is my favorite in your collection
You know what... if you chop the bucket off and that back frame, shorten the pipes, throw a nice brown solo seat on it, and a big chrome front tire like between a 26" to 32" on the Triglide, paint it candy apple green with some gold flake and some silver pinstriping. Would look sick. I'd call it The Leprchaun.

Trikes....4 bolts in bottom of trunk and 2 up top behind the seat. Pull the wires and lift and unhook the rear.

Tell Carlos to get it to lock you have to remove the plastic ring underneath. i had the same issue on the 2021 Road Glide Limited i recently from San Jacinto Harley in Houston.

I have an 01 sportster 1200c that has 16k on it I had it gone thru have to get a new gas tank I have a paint I want put on it everyone says they can but when I see the work it’s falls pretty short of I want bit more “ corpsman related” so I wanted to do it right “ caviar taste with beer budget”. I will have to save up.
Glad you threw that in about the 1.5 inch handlebars. I put the khrome werks buck one fifties on myself and was wondering why the fork lock was a lot tighter. I can put the key in and turn, but it doesn't want to come out or go back in from the lock position.
Twin cam 88 right? How did you like? Daytona went there once was very disappointed. Nothing like Curtis very small compared to Sturgis not much riding in the area neither
Yeah, Daytona sucks but it’s a good chance to see my friends. The Cross Bones is a TC96, my favorite Twinkie. Sounds better than the 103 somehow.
I 100% agree about tires. They are the most overlooked thing on motorcycles in my opinion. I run Michelin Road Classics on my bike. They're a little pricey, but worth it for the amount of grip, comfort, and handling that they provide.
With all the boxes, I imagine your trash pick up people just love you. I glad I live in a rural area to where I can burn all the boxes we get!!

Mr Monkey. Just to clear up the comment regarding the 117 in the 2024s, it is not the same motor. The 24s have different heads, and throttle bodies than the 23s. The liquid cooling is also redesigned to cool the rear head first.
Can you tell me what taillight you placed on there? I have an 09 crossbones and I am converting over to full LED, and he smoked lens would look great on there.

Harley just look all the same street, glide road, glide back glide, front glide, Italian motorcycles, look so painful to go any distance on Japanese machines, just look exactly the same it’s a shame there is no British motorcycle industry anymore, because their machines, and they had faults oil on the floor electrics if it rained, but the machines a 10 BSA Bonnaville, 750 matchless, G 12 Panthers Sloper, Sunbeam, Rudge, Enfield black shadow, Vincent and most of the machines the British I’m talking about or about the lucky joy. I’ve been out to ride them. BSA not the A10 but the StarFire only a 250. Pull your arms off. Make a phone exhaust on. Oh it sounded darling, triumph Bonnaville 750 could kill you, but my God it would do it with fun

But I also have a set of Samson Sidewinders that I'm thinking of putting back on...
