Didn’t know this was an issue. Would never set certain number of kicks. Athletes have to “understand” their game not “memorize” it

I use a lot of your coaching tips with my guys (small high school). I'm very interested in "drive-catch" and it makes a lot of sense in taking a stronger pass set vs. "kicking" as you describe here. Is there a way to apply the drive-catch philosophy in angle blocking for the run game (such as in the wing-T or in pin & pull type schemes)? Thanks again.

Brian Wolfe yea it’s all the same. It’s a movement principle. Lots of content on site covering this.

Nice job, this has cleared up some some stuff for me Thanks. Questions when the player is getting ready for P2P phase in this pass set, does he/she attack the outside peck or the sternum? Thanks again keep up the awesome job.

Krazy71 great! Take what the defender gives. It may help some players to have a general target zone, but you can only strike what’s presented. Maybe the pec isn’t there, but the near shoulder is... take that. Great question, appreciate the opportunity!

    Great video
I never teach a certain number of drive steps not all defenders are the same so neither will your pass set. Study your film of the opponent to gain an advantage then use proper technique.
Take the proper amount to establish inside out technique or knee to crouch relationship.
