I spotted an immaculate copy of Humans in a thrift shop a few weeks ago. I snapped it up and it inspired me to dust off my turntable and sent me down a rabbithole setting up an amp and speakers and everything else but what a ride. Bruce is of course inimitable. As is Hugh Marsh.

The musician on the far right is playing what is called The Chapman Stick . please don't rely on what im about to say, do your research . from what i gather, it is a 8 to 12 string instrument . It seems quite complex to play but if you are as talented as this guy you can play melody & accompaniment simultaneously, and then some . He's using all his fingers put you don't pluck or finger pick it . i assume the electric pick up is sensitive enough where you just press the strings & of course you can slide, slur and bend the strings like on a guitar neck . last i heard they were working on making one which acoustic without the need for an amplifier and all those other synth effects which i vacillate from loving to disliking, jmho . my apologies for not knowing the chapman stick master's name
Thanks so much for uploading this wonderful concert! 🤍 I could not find Tokyo when doing the time stamps but I am a little overtired so I may have missed it?

Very cool to see him doing the Stealing Fire songs with essentially their original instrumentation/arrangements!
Rockpalast has hosted some great acts over the years and here's one of the best!
I was 16 and this was my first live- concert 😀
Lucky, lucky YOU!🎉

Fergus Marsh played bass and stick for Cockburn throughout most of the 80’s.
