5:05 Nice reference to Apollo 11 mission control with the "about to turn blue." line.
I'm glad someone noticed that ;)
Nice blend of ENT and TOS ships aesthetics!
Thanks for commenting
I do not envy the captain that has to make that decision. Nicely done.
I would love an actual movie about the very beginnings of star fleet
There was an entire TV series
Just watch Enterprise.
The closest there is to that is the novel "Starfleet year one" that was set after the Earth Romulan war.
Guess you never heard of Enterprise…
@@MikeTait-og5di to be fair Enterprise isn’t about the very beginnings of Starfleet. It’s their first long range exploration ship, sure, but that’s not the same thing. There’s already a well established Starfleet long before that happens.
Alright....Starfleet founded in 2135. Let's see where this goes. I'm onboard.
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed
2130
Any pre-starfleet video that involves a grappler gets points in my book. Now I'm going to have to look up who terra nova is.
GRAPPLER!!!!
@@chrislea1000 That needs to be a meme for your channel "So I started Grapplin!" with devito looking over the side of the Rappahannok as Leo's grappler attaches.
Terra Prime, not Terra Nova! Terra Prime was a xenophobic human terrorist group. Terra Nova at this point in the franchise was a failed human colony that Earth had lost contact with. Enterprise NX-01 later determined what had happened to the descendants of the original colonists.
Indeed
@@rickjohnston2667 Ah, now it makes more sense. I misheard.
Once again, nicely done. Interesting storyline. Reminds me of Apollo & Starbuck taking out the Olympic Carrier.
There may have been some inspiration there :)
@@chrislea1000 Nothing wrong with that. Great wee story with fantastic visuals. Love the ships.
@@chrislea1000 "Reeeeally?"😱😁👍
beautiful ships
Gorgeous indeed, im hoping that some day these will be real
Thanks for that
Always love early trek lore, chronologically speaking
I rather appreciate that the DY-100 is still in use as there's no reason why it shouldn't for earth to luna cargo runs. Don't need a warp drive when its engines and onboard propellant should be able to get it and its cargo there in at most a couple days.
By any chance though was this a reference to the end of the 1st proper episode of RDM battlestar galactica as having to blow up a ship that maybe has civilians on it and rigged to explode occurred.
EDIT: Oh wait that's already confirmed in an earlier comment
Also, I like to make the most of my models - thanks for watching
Amazing work love the 22nd century of star trek can't wait to see more 🖖🖖
More to come!
A very nice "needs of the many" story, and of course beautiful ships of the era, I hope we see more of the LEO.
Thanks, and thanks for watching. I’m sure we’ll see her again
Great job. Not a single visual of anyone, just letting the motions of the of the ships and audio tell the story.
Also love the design of the Leo. Don't think I've seen that one before.
This should be made into a series! It's great!
Thanks, that would take some doing
Absolutely loved this.
Inspired me a bit.
Fantastic work, love your depiction of this time period. Again amazing work.
Thanks for that
@@chrislea1000 I wish they would give you the reigns for a show during this time period.
Excellent short! This is more the kind of thing I was hoping from Enterprise... The really nascent days of space travel, a bit slower and clunkier, more NASA-esque, not the sleek Fed vessels zipping around. Thanks for finally delivering 20 years later! 😆
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE the design, it's f AWESOME, the story?... Wow, so sad
WOW! Not much else to say. Stellar job! Truly creative!
Wow, thanks and thanks for watching
One of those "least worst choice" scenarios; possibly ending up as a command-training exercise. Like a pecusor to the Kobayashi Maru. Well done.
A great prequel to Enterprise well done😊
Thank you kindly!
Warp 1.35 to Vulcan would be a multi year journey, not a quick run around the block.
I thought it was they were at Warp 1.35 within the solar system, therefore not saying what speed they'd get upto between systems. Warp 2.5 or almost 3?
@@andycooper6085 yeah, maybe you’re right.
@@andycooper6085 If we are going by ST:ENT canon/continuity, then any speed beyond warp 2 was not achieved by a human designed and built ship until circa 2143. See the episode "First Flight".
Amazing work! Love the SS Leo. Sound effects and 'trek' sounds were great. Was expecting a larger 'bang' from the terran fusion weapon tho! Haha
🖖😎👍Very cool and very greatly nicely spectaculary well done and executed very wonderfully in every detail way shape and format provided indeed Sir!👌.
Thank you again Steve
Fantastic! I love the grapplers. (Someone had to say it.) 🖖
Far too few grapplers nowadays
SO well done. Bravo!
Glad you enjoyed
Nice little video ya'll put together. I love sci-fi, especially Star Trek & Wars. Thanks for this
Very cool, I am enjoying these videos - keep them coming!
Fantastic video. Those early starfleet ships of yours are great. 👍
Thanks for that
Very nice voice acting on this one.
Amazing work!
Thanks a lot!
Great concept and well executed. I liked everything about this a lot except for the closing music in the credits.
Great story, five + minutes of better drama than all the current production treks combined, I'll take this every day of the week and twice on Sunday
Turning every great post into a bitch fest about New Trek.
Can't you just enjoy this and quit moaning. 🙄
I entirely agree it's well done
Thank you, that was great! 😀👍
Glad you enjoyed
Very well done thoroughly impressive
Thank you very much!
I loved this. The only feedback I have is that when the ship is shot, don't have the attack go past the ship they are shooting. Make it look like the full impact is going into the target ship. That is the only thing I would change. You did a great job on this and I am looking forward to more from you.
This was nice, good job.
Glad you enjoyed it
ty for the video and LLAP...
Thanks for watching
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Just like the Voyager episode year of hell the doctor had to close the hatch and two crew members didn't make it this is a good example of the difficult decisions that sometimes have to be made...the needs of the many outway the needs of the few or the one.💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Lovely
This is why I think their is a Human version of the Sundering and why the federation lets colonies break away.
GREAT movie but that music at the end though 😏
Thanks, prob won’t use that music again 😀
Good video, but the Leo's inability to change the velocity (particularly the course) of the disabled transport makes no sense!
They don't have to slow the ship down, just change the direction of its flight path by a degree, and may not have to even by that much, so it will miss the station. That probably will not be enough to miss Mars, but that is another point entirely. You're depiction also didn't account for the debris that would still be on an intercept course for the station and would pose nearly as much a risk as the intact transport.
Now you could have had it so that the disabled transport was moved enough to miss the station only for the sensors to detect the fission weapon thus forcing the destruction of the transport anyway as it would be too late to change the transport velocity (still need to account for the resulting debris). Or that it was going to fall dangerously close to a Mars surface settlement.
You also could have had it that the Terra Prime device destroyed the manual helm controls of the transport but leaving a remote back-up or a hidden onboard helm computer that was programed to keep the ship on course for the station thus negating the Leo's efforts to redirect the transport.
Excelente... Me encanta...
Gracias!
The debris would still be traveling towards the station.
awesome! i see -- what looks a lot like -- the S.S. Botany Bay (probably some other DY-100 (or some variant) class sleeper ship...?) parked outside that space station @ 00:38 ... very neat =/\=
Correct! Thanks for watching
So, is the large flame engine at the back of the Leo the impulse engine?
Yep
Great job! Nicely done.
Thanks Eric, hope you can see your tutorials in here
@@chrislea1000 Omg! Thank you for the mention! Wow!
@@scifieric Booleans, bevels and edge splits - wouldn't have a clue if you hadn't put up a 55 hour tutorial :)
55 hour? LOL! LOL! Fantastic!
Ha, at least. Kept me going during COVID. Thanks again
Loved the visuals. There’s no backup when comms go out? Why didn’t the crew of the Rappahannock eject and radio from their life pods? There was no dialogue they perished before the other ship came to investigate. :(
According to ST:E, should be firing torpedoes, not a beam weapon.
The Federation and Starfleet were founded in 2161 (so unless this as an alternate history etc...)
As for the damaged ship colliding with the station in orbit around Mars, buy a lottery ticket instead (assuming gravity well it would be way more likely to hit Mars or miss altogether)
The ships were really well done and story was a good start point.
At that point I just stopped watching.
Thats a LOT of work to put all that together, far more than most of us would think, so thankyou.
ST:ENT has Starfleet founded before 2161, sometime in the 2130s, though no specific year or decade was ever mentioned, though the episode "First Flight" show a Starfleet in 2143 fairly well established.
Not fond of this arrangement as I would have preferred that Starfleet was founded alongside the Federation as a neutral name for the combined space service. Earth would have had its own native space service with another name before the Federation''s founding.
I agree on your criticism regarding the likelihood of collision unless there was some active helm control over the transport by Terra Prime.
superb
Isn't 2135 a little early for starships to have a "NCC" registry? Especially one as high as NCC-128?
Whenever I read that Starfleet has been founded in 2135 I think that I have stumbled across old lore which had the Federation founded prior to 2161.
0:42 A DY-100, very nice. Do you also have models for the DY-500?
Would love to know the schematics of the SS LEO!!!!🖖👏🙌🙏👍🎉
Great job Chris and Great talent as well.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@chrislea1000 yes, very much
nice, how long this took.?
About 6 weeks I think
Brilliant
Graphics were great, ship designs were amazing, voice over well acted, however the story fell short science wise, even if the target vessel was too massive to slow down just deviating its course by a few millimeters at that distance would insure it missed the station, for that matter orbital platforms have maneuvering thrusters for station keeping that could have moved the station out of its path. So the real story should have been about the attempted rescue of the Rappahannock's crew and the lack of time to do so.
Wouldn't a trip to Vulcan take years at "Warp 1.35"?
nice looking ships would have been nice to have some real people in it and be far longer.
Even with it being limited by having no visible actors, its still better than Discovery and all NuTrek
Ha, thanks for that
Looks good, and a horrifying story. Hehe
I've been following your stuff for quite a while. It's great, but I think it's time to think about "up-ing" your game. You've reached the point where you could make a decent short with "real" actors.
Hold that thought...and thanks
Welwell.doen story and visuals. Not a fan of Enterprise continuity so its weird seeing Starfleet prior to 2161.
I agree with your comment regarding Starfleet prior to 2161.
Terra Prime shouldn't exist yet. Nor should that Starfleet delta in the UI.
Nice! Can’t wait for more! 🫡
