As a self-admitted Trek-a-holic, I subscribe to almost every Star Trek related channel on UA-cam; yours is my newest subscription! First, I HAVE to take my hat off to your writer/writers! Whoever s/he/they are...do whatever you must to keep them in your group! This isn't just solar dust I'm beaming up your blackhole. The vocabulary and stylization of spoken words have helped the actors who have little or no experience. Honestly, you have a treasure in your midst! Further, I enjoyed your FX quite a bit. You blended the real and the digital as smoothly as I've ever seen in a home-made production. Mega kudos! As a suggestion, have a couple of people in your team switch roles with a couple others. For example, the producer switches with the director, the final editor with assistant editor. Change of jobs creates (sometimes) very happy 'accidents' as we know from George Lucas and his wife re: STAR WARS. GRILL your actors to discover ALL their talents! (singing, make-up, foreign accents, animal husbandry, etc) And from there, USE THEM in production. Sorry for over-sharing! But, when I see all the potential coming from your team....well, I get EXCITED! Best wishes in all future endeavors! Gracias! I look forward for your next production with GREAT expectations!
Wow… simply wow! Excellent work… I was initially recommended this video.. I loved how it was a standalone while also not at all. I just went back and bing watched every episode… the natural progression is so great. I find the actors refreshing as they seem natural and comedic. It grounds the characters while making them relatable. Special effects are really amazing. Cinematography… well that’s extremely good. All around excellent work. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. You have a fan.
The engineer looks and sounds so done 😭😭😭 "There are a lot of people injured down here, and a couple people dead 🙄🙄🙄" 😭😭😭😭😭😭 She's so funny and it makes it so much better 😭😭😭
Excellent episode. Everyone has become so natural in their roles. Tyler (Mason) picking up the fallen over comms as it gets knocked over was so natural, I didn't even consider it was an error that Tyler just rolled with. Cheers for sharing that story at the Q&A after show!
Avalon has the best production capabilities thus far. They have captured the essence of the old "Star Trek" series, and also have introduced newer technologies for the crew in subtle but also relative and tasteful ways (better uniforms, active display screens, etc.). I'm looking forward to the next episode.
@@joestitz239 yep. but there were a bunch of marines in the formation of starfleet. at least as long as the crayons held out lol. sempre fidelis all you devildogs.

Up there in Star Trek Continues country! Oh Paramount, let these wonderful people make full length episodes. Aside from showing you up, what harm could they do?
I LOVE ALL THE ADVENTURES OF THE STARSHIP EXCALIBUR! I LIKE HOW THE STARSHIP YORKTOWN GOT INTRODUCED. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE MORE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN DEREK MASON AND COMMANDER JAMIE ARCHER! I AM A HUGE STAR TREK FAN! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I think its a really nice touch that you've included BTS photos during the end credits. A great reminder of the teamwork and fun that comes with making a fan film! :) Looking forward to the next one.
I really appreciate that! The teamwork, and the fun experience that we all have doing this, is the most important part of it to me. We make fan films, because we love it. Your team does too, and it always shows!
I love it! The opening minutes are a fun adventure, and then you hit us with the traditional Star Trek (Klingon 🤩) twist, and then an interesting Romulan mystery plot to be concluded. The costumes were especially well done. It's a great setup for the the next part of the story. I look forward to it.

Really enjoyed this like any solid and fun episode! If you ask me, the "fan made" feel sells it since TOS's edges are part of the charm. Love that they don't stop holding hands in some corny way - nice writing/directing.

Really top-notch work. My hat is off to Avalon!!!! The actors brought a great Trek story to life. And that Dreadnought was kick-a$$ great. And her Captain was STYLIN’ in that TMP-era uniform. Well-done!!!!!!!!
I loved this. All the acting was so natural and believable. The only complaint I could think of is that the music is recorded too high for the dialogue. I couldn't hear all the dialogue.
I love these fan made episodes. Some are a bit clunky, but they do a great job considering they don't have anywhere near the budget of the actual professional TV series and movies.

Man! That 1st 5 minutes is INCREDIBLE! You guys are killin it! Realism, accuracy, effects, acting, LCARS++, etc.! So well done, even the little touches like a floppy disc similar to the one Spock held up in a TOS episode in about 1966. Keep it up! My ONLY criticism: Please consider toning down Victoria's lipstick color. It's beautiful, but a bit distracting.
Wow. The special effects and sets are amazing. Takes me back to my childhood TOS days. (None of this Apple store, or 2023 updated stuff. Real knobs, blinking lights, in the control panel.). I'm normally skeptical of fan films, esp. the acting. But this is not bad.
@@tydunivan I love when that happens during a shoot. I made a short about discovering that a co-worker is a Jedi. But the line that usually gets the biggest laugh was improvised by the actress on the spot.

I hope you're going to keep him and Archer working together when you conclude this era of Avalon Universe. And dude! I missed it during the premiere, but the Romulans captured a cosmic stream alien?! That's like how Ransom and the Equinox crew were using those alien eel creatures to power their warp drive! One observation, though... In the first scene between Mason and Archer in Engineering, Tyler's not looking at Victoria, he's looking downward, either like she wasn't there (they filmed the scene at different times?) or he was reading off cue cards.
I love the idea of Mason having a Klingon half brother. Partly because of my own head-cannon that during the Romulan Wars a Captain T.C. Chang saved a Klingon crew from a dishonersble death at the hands of a Romulan Cabbage and was rewarded appropriately. And thus the name Chang entered Klingon nomanclature.
