Seiko , Baltic , Squale and Zelos are my personal favorite sub 1K divers brands. Hope to see more microbrands reach storefronts in the future.
Doxa, mido are also cool
@@yahlilevi9316 yeah love my Mido Ocean Star. I just don't wear it enough , all my favorite straps are either 20 or 22mm..
of the ones you mentioned only Seiko might have had a boutique which was the whole idea of the video.
Frogman fan. Stoked on my poison dart. A Bamford frogman would be sick.
When you shout Breitling I thought you identified which brand the motorcyclist was wearing ! ❤Nice jacket George.
Me too lol
Frogman, as far as I know, is the only gshock line that is ISO certified. They are all 20 bar, but Frogman is the only one certified, so it's the only one that can call itself a "dive watch." I'm going to guess that it is actually used by a lot of people who actually dive if they wear a watch diving (in conjunction with a dive computer, of course, which has superceded ALL dive watches). So for those thumbing their noses at this choice - you don't actually know many divers.
I think George came up with a great choice but I do wish he had shown a couple of more options as I like to compare at least 3 watches.
Got it last month, absolute beast. Confortable and tough. Love it
Glycine combat sub, Squale or Seiko would be my choice
George.....Seiko would have been my first choice...understanding you needed to go to a boutique for the video. Casio does not scream dive watch to me.
Outstanding choice George. I have one myself as well as the analogue GWF-A-1000C-1AJF that comes with the carbon composite band.
Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Auto, Edox Delfin (not the Mecano version) and of course, Seiko would have been my choices for this price range. Nonetheless, good choice George and an episode format we would definitely love to see again.
Good choice, IMHO: solar powered, ISO certified, rugged build (albeit lacking sapphire crystal) and feature packed. The biggest plus for myself regarding this gem (I’m biased: huge g-shock proponent) it takes a beating and keeps on going. I guess the same argument can be made for MOST quartz (digital) watches, but this brand has a solid reputation within the nations (US) armed forces for being near indestructible. And having served, I’ve experienced this durability and functional utility first hand. All the same, solid pick, sir.
With 1k pound sterling you could have bought the Tissot Seastar George.
Good choice in Black PVD with the James Cameron Style dial.
I’m actually surprised no one did Seiko in this challenge.
Us too
i really like G-Shock watch, so cool
Got this for $360 instead of $600 when Casio offered a whopping 40% discount in India today! Grabbed it first thing and collected it in the middle of an office day as the boss was out.. double celebration!! 😁👻👻
Does anyone know if this GShock actually has a depth gauge?
❤ the frogmans
I love G Shock and Frogman but I'm going to say "Money for old rope". It's five hundred-odd quid for a fourth generation watch (now we're in the seventh generation Frogman) with no Atomic time keeping and mineral glass instead of sapphire. Honestly, it feels like this is more of an advert than a "challenge".
The only thing of note is that it's made of titanium but I would rather have the fifth generation titanium Frogman and pay a bit more. Just my 2 cents/pennies worth.
Actually for real people the Rangeman sooo spanks the Frogman.
Can’t believe nobody mentioned Christopher Ward !!!!!!
Is that the Bamford man whose dad knows Blobby Johnson ?.
Honestly, that is a super ugly watch "G-Shock". I wouldn't pay $30 bucks for it because it's so damn ugly. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder?
Thanks for sharing.
