Project ZRS Ep. 6 - How bad is it? - Initial tear down of my 5.3 LM7
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- In this video, I get an initial look into the health of my 5.3 LS motor. I have a friend stop by and give me his opinion on the condition of my engine. He's got me half-convinced to rebuild this motor myself. Also, I make a pretty big announcement at the end of the video.

That snoring had the LS cam chop 😆. That's not a bad start to project ZRS 😎
I'm excited about the new shop 😁
You’d think my wife would like my LS cam snoring. 😂 can’t wait to have the shop built!!
Rings, bearings, bolts, and gaskets is all Id throw at that engine. And of course clean and paint, maybe a new cam and lifters. We had that SAME Christmas tree for years. Great minds think alike! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks John. A new cam and lifters is definitely in the plan. 😎👍
Great intro! Great video! I'll be praying for the family health issue!
Much appreciated!
Great Engine for the Camaro, love how freely they rev and sound great. Definitely a great project. Great video Dan, will be waiting in anticipation for the next episode.
Nice video. That guy you had over seems like a good guy.
He’s a good dude, but I wouldn’t want to arm wrestle him. 😂👍
nice Initial tear
When you scrap silverusto you ought to do a slideshow of pics of it from over the years if you have any. Like when you first got it BEFORE the rust lol. Love these trucks but HATE the rust. Unfortunately all trucks are pretty much doomed in this region.
Man that intro was a banger. Nice. Whos vette?
Thanks CS. It belongs to a friend of mine. It’s rowdy!!
@@TheDaninator that thing is sweet
I miss the Rusterado, I bet she was a pretty truck in her prime!
The paint color was awesome. It looked almost blue in certain lighting. I loved that truck.
Love the intros!
Sweeeet vette bro! Awesome intro. Good to see your truck motor is in good shape. Looking forward to seeing the progress on it. That ‘ro will be a ripper!
That vette is pretty sweet. Sounds real mean and rowdy. I wish I could snap my fingers and Project ZRS would be finished. I can’t wait to drive it with the new drivetrain.
Definitely do a cam while you got the motor out
That’s a must!
I have the same rev up and down when cold idling, hoping someone can comment on it, mines 230k 02 lm7
"Promosm" 🌟
Love to see the progress, I am currently working on a 99 Silverado project bed swap to my 01, rust sure is a killer
Let the engine shop do the machine work and check clearances but do the assembly yourself. You will get a lot of satisfaction out of knowing that your hands put it all together.
Great post! 👍 Compared your previous posts you got this Hoss! No need to rush this build and let this be your go-to stress reliever...
Right on
Great video, was going to ask you ,you drive a TB and do you know how to stop timing chain cover oil leaks? Thanks man..
You’ll have to replace the gasket
@@TheDaninator hey daninator, on them 4.2 vortec engines on trailblazer do I use a 1/4 or 3/8 torque wrench? Thanks
@@lifegoeson4085 not sure if it would matter. Whichever can give you the specified torque value.
@@TheDaninator I don't know which to use,🤷🏻♂️
