Your arrangement, your multiple presence, and your peaceful melodious voice made this so beautiful. "Pass It On" was part of a church musical called, "Tell It Like It Is" my church presented at the NC State Fair in the early 70s. Every spring I think of this song and sing it, "What a wondrous time is spring when all the trees are budding, the birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming. That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, you want to sing, it's fresh like spring, you want to pass it on." Thank you, The N Crew!
Yes, in the 80’s it was a hymn we sang in church, in the early 90’s when my family when backpacking we sang it from memory around the campfire with no sign of civilization in sight, and after my Dad passed in 93, I continued his legacy for a few years leading worship in our small mountain church keeping this song in the rotation as one of my favorites. The beauty of this song never gets old.
I was in a Christian Choir in the 70's and we sang this song. 5 singers and our teacher was the guitarist. Thanks so much for this. It brings back many good memories. And of course I sang along with you in my harmony part. 🙂
Sang this in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal , years ago. I’ve never forgotten the beauty of ministering to the Lord with gorgeous music like this song.
I was in the 4th grade in 1980at Saint Dominic's Catholic school in SF, and Sister Barbara used play her guitar and sing this song.. She actually told us that SHE WROTE THE SONG..
I’m in my late 50s this is a song from my high school years. I’m going through a hard time with my daughter being very sick (since she had Covid 2+years ago) this song from years past came to mind. Thank you for doing such a beautiful job with this oldie but goodie. Blessings in Christ
I learnt this song in the 80s and we often sing it on Christmas Eve service, passing the candle light to the next person until everyone has a lighted candle in their hands. You have made it even more beautiful by adding the flute to your rendition! Thanks for sharing your music.
This was a favorite of our church youth group in the 1980s -- so many times we sang with the youth director playing the guitar -- such a great song - brings back so many good memories. Thanks!
I learned this song as a child in junior choir in my home church..in the mid 70's...we sang it with our director playing the accompaniment on her guitar...it became one of my favorite all time songs
when I was very young in the early 70's i used to turn the pages for the piano player of our church youth group called the "Chosen Few". Beautiful memories.
You did such a great job with this! Praise the Lord. With all your music, you ARE passing on the Love and Joy of the Lord. I do like the videos showing the performance. It makes it personal and real.
I like this song, this brings me to that time when I was in high school. Remember my music and religion teacher in this song. HE comes to me and now that I am serving the Lord as a CATHECIST I WANT TO PASS IT ON...
I was wondering if you would share a copy of your recorder? music that you played? I am guessing that was all ad lib(extra notes) because I know how gifted you are. Your singing/playing are so very enjoyable. I just found this uTube Sat. The lady that plays at our church and I sang it to a lady who requested this as part of her birthday celebration in our little country church.
Kurt Kaiser wrote this. The original lyrics have mountain top. Anyone singing it plural is incorrect. I recall singing this in the 1970’s. In the pause between the lyrics “mountain top” and “I want the world to know” we would take artistic license to say (not sing) “Praise God”. The original lyrics also have “my world” instead of “the world” but I think Kurt was fine with either, but he did write “my”.
@@kingnebuchadnezzar6626 Do you mean download it off of here on UA-cam? I don't mind you using my recording of this song, but I don't hold the rights to the original song itself, so it's not really up to me how you use this recording, but the publisher (Capitol CMG Publishing). I can provide an MP3 to you of this song if you like. I just have to keep track of what I distribute for mechanical licensing purposes.

Haven't done public performances in quite a long time, since days of doing it with my brothers at a few churches. Have thought about it, but a lot to figure out, especially when most of the people who have asked end up being in the US, which I wish one could just go and play at churches; but there are licenses for touring or public performing and stuff to figure out that I don't know anything about. We'll see. :-)
That was a flute my parents got for me from a trip they want on to Florida a number of years back - I believe. Just some custom wood flute they picked up somewhere. No particular model. Plays nice though and a nice sound. Only shame is, being wood, I have to be more careful with it as it could crack. Let's just say, I'm more likely to let my little ones use the metal flutes before this one. ;-)
Not sure what to call it. If I recall correctly, my parents were vacationing in Florida a number of years ago and found some shakers and this flute type instrument at a small store. It has a nice, mellow sound and deeper range than say the typical penny whistles, and plays pretty much the same way.
@@stephennasby It sounds beautiful, and a bit surprising, to me. When he gets to 2:05, it suddenly sounds more extroverted than when he began playing it at 1:43.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful song to us in India. Any particular reason to play similar fingerstyle pattern on both acoustic and classical guitar? Is it just to add a sound variation?
Pretty much. There are many ways one can do the same song and use the same instruments. I don't put a lot of thought into a song video, as I don't take a lot of time to prepare for recording, so there could be a better way to have played the instruments; but I moved the classical guitar's capo up a little higher and played just a little differently to give some counter notes (not with lots of thought, it just happened) and just add some more sound. :-)
