Who wants to play a class in a ARPG where you have to use 65% of your ability slots for defensive skills just to actually survive. What a terrible design, how did Blizzard not notice how problematic this was in the beta?
@@Der-Sensenmann what do you mean it's going to get worse? How is Blizzard going to nerf them further when they struggle the most in the end game? In any case, It's a really fun class to play until nm dungeon 60+.
Sorcs have a very cool skill set/class mechanic and the highest potential for interesting builds but blizzard did everything they could to remove those choices and shoehorn everyone into the same skills/enchantments at endgame. So much of the fun stuff will never be used because it comes at the cost of replacing something boring that's mandatory for damage.
So true. I think if they give back the 3rd enchantment slot and buff fire skills or at least present WAY more effective and varied class unique items.. it would go a long way to improving the sorc
I just switched to Ice Shards after being level 100 a while on Arc Lash and it is very unfortunate it was nerfed, I was enjoying it and the melee sorc feel to be honest
Maybe I'm just a little bit glass half full. But the way I see it, the Sorc we play in season one. Will not be the same as the one we are playing in season six. As new legendary aspects, Uniques, seasonal mechanics, nerfs/buffs are introduced with each season. The meta will change, just because incinerate is completely worthless and unviable right now. Doesn't mean that that will always be the case. One day, it may be the best skill. I expect all the classes to change and evolve with the games lifetime. So in general, I'm not really worried about the future for the Sorc.
Nailed the Sorc. I worked so hard to make Meteor work in WT4 just to watch my friend on druid switch his whole build at level 80 and wipe nm40 dungeons just not even having to think. At one point he didn't believe i had to aim the meteor because it was so much weaker than the tornados that were roaming around the screen lol.
Lol! This was exactly my sorc experience when I tried to make meteor work. My druid buddy just ran past one shotting the entire screen with lightning 😂
Yeah I gave up on meteor when I hit 600k with the 300% dmg bracelets at lvl 80 with all my procs. Its awful because the lvl 70 rogue hits more than that with less effort…. One huge failing is the exploit glyph. Why make it hard for necro and sorc? Just idiocy
Necro minion builds are why I bought the game in the first place. It would be nice to see the ability to get even more minions beyond the +2 or 3 from aspects. I don't expect to have 20+ minions like in 2. But increased surviability and numbers would be nice.
Agreed. Some of the top tier builds in PoE are minion builds, hell there's even one in Last Epoch that you can combine a tonne of little minions to make some fucking giant golem. Would be nice to have more options.
I tried a little Diablo 3 just before Diablo 4 came out to get an idea if I would like it. I played a Necro and loved the skeletons, they felt so strong, so bought Diablo 4. Very disappointed, the skeletons are so weak, playing a Sorcerer instead
@@AuntSally1 They pre-launch nerfed minions and again on day 1 due to some UA-camrs whining they were too strong based on beta tests. There was also someone who wrote an article pre-launch about the minions being too strong. This is why minions currently suck. I still use them because that is the staple of a damn Necromancer. I Sincerely hope they make minions a viable meta build. It baffles me also why a core minion skill is not in the game. A necromancer should never have had blight, bone spear, and blood as core skills when it is a minion based class. They should have had a core minion skill. The fact that they do not is a slap in the face to the necromancer. If they got rid of one, it seems like it would be blood (cause a necro is not a vampire).
I was shocked to see the barb casually checking his map while mobs were hitting him. I am not even brave enough to write something in my chat while playing sorc, because of almost everything killing me in 1-2 hits.
Appreciate you Raxx - your dedication to really understanding the game, from bringing every class to 100 (and doing so at normal speeds to get a good feel for the pacing) to testing all the nightmare dungeons and much more, is really admirable. You're a real asset to the Diablo community, both as a player and researcher, and as just an all-around good dude with that trademark dry wit. Here's to season one - let's hope those balance changes deliver!
@@ToxicTeemoOCE He plays more, and more efficiently, but he does it in a way that any player can do. Watching Raxx in D3 made me a much smarter and more efficient player than I used to be, and I have even more fun with the games as a result. It's not about how much time he's put into the game as a whole; it's how much in-game time it takes him to level a character. I have his stream on a lot and, as he says, he was adamant about not boosting, just playing as smartly and efficiently as possible (though he also did a bunch of testing along the way).
@@kenallsop7502 @TheYobbo71 You both have a point. His experience and knowledge in this field is immense. But it is also the quintessence of no-life. Is there anything else he does in life? Does he have time for that? Doubtful.
@@ToxicTeemoOCEI don't play 8 hours a day. I have maybe 50-60 hours in the game and my rogue hit 100 on Sunday, also have a 10 Barb and 38 Necro, no PLing. I work a 45hr job, and I also went a day or two without playing at all.
Yeah glass is an issue. I certainly pump out burst damage but I like playing melee sorc. Arc lash with charged bolts. It's off meta but man is it fun. Just wish I had more armor or health or survivability and cdr.
@@bradracine3426 You have no idea what you even talking about. The class is so goddamn dependent on frost nova that you might as well just run circles until its off cooldown. The class is complete fucking garbage. Any and every single character are better.
@@bradracine3426 Oh yeah? Play a non vuln/iceshard meta build in nm 50+ and we talk again. The fact that ALL uniques cripple your dmg and some skills don't even work (incinerate not applying burning lmao) don't help the situation at all. After 400hrs on that class i can confidently say fk that class. Not only does the defence suck because res are worthless and the whole class/paragon is based on it but you also get handicapped by %dmg loss from uniques or def from glasscannon while all other classes only get %dmg on top for free (take pulverize shockwave as example...). It would be fine if sorc would have the highest dps output of all the classes in the game as tradeoff... but it doesn't.
Hard for me to choose between rogue and Druid. Pulverise Druid really strong when you solve the spirit gen problem. Lacks single target. Shred werewolf really fun and probably better all round for end game. Rogues are just strong all round and easier to work out the synergies and I like there movement and flow.
@@Baggiolyful same with rogue, I am running no energy generator on my rogue. Double imbuement, no dark shroud. Im still at tier 38 NM dungeons. It just deletes every thing. super fast too.
I really loved Rogue the most in beta and wasn't disappointed. Melee felt so damn good that every other class at start felt meh. Also think rogue has most options for slightly different builds then other classes, which I feel need certain build and set of skills or particular unique.
@@zeffmalchazeen3429 around tier 75 nm you'll feel it how hard rogue can be. At least death trap twisting blade build. You need to play like a pu$$y to be able to clear 75+ content. It's doable, but 1 run can take up 30 min, depending on the dungeon and affixes. You can swap death trap for shroud, but then again you need to rebuild and it's not gonna be a death trap rogue anymore. I found high tier content exceptionally hard for a class that felt really good the whole game and it made me kinda discouraged to play the game in season 0. Hopefully in season 1 with the new content it'll feel better.
I liked the sorcerer analysis, the idea of needing a specific skill rotation to project power is not a critique I've heard iterated before. I've only played druid and rogue in release and I definitely agree with the analysis. Twisting blades with shadow imbue felt so good on rogue and pulverize druid is like ez mode. I really dig how the druid's legendary aspects feel like a natural extension of the skill builds, letting you redefine how his skills work on various ways
Thanks for all the work you're doing! I managed to get my sorc and my rogue to 90s. Boy, those were two completely different journeys. As a rogue I got to try a few different playstyles with different aspects while leveling, having different skills on the bar. It feels like there's so many synergies, different imbuements have their special effects when stacked on top of each other, there's a nice variety of legendaries and uniques and it all just works as it should... Now sorcs - aside from all the problems mentioned in the video there's also this huge lack of variety. Regardless of the element you want to focus on, you end up having all 4 defense skills on your bar and realistically, there's only 1 free enchantment slot, as the 2nd one is kinda reserved for fire bolt because that is where half of your damage comes from. The same for the raiment of the infinite chest piece - mandatory to have for more CC because when you let the enemies out of CC, you die. Basically feels like you have two times less options than it says on paper
At what point do you think all defenses became necessary? I am leveling a sorc, currently 58 in wt3, and I have only played all of a single element. Did all fire for first 50 or so levels and now on all shock. Fire was fine, though annoying at times since I chose to a mix of firewall and meteor. Now running all shock skills with chain lightning as main damage and went all in on crackling energy for mana regen along with a slight damage boost and it has been working out really well, is faster overall and the ult cooks almost everything. At the moment I can confidently do NM keys 5 levels above me and I am a hardly average player.
@@legi0n47x for a little perspective, on my rogue, I consistently pushed nightmare sigils at least 10 levels above me fairly comfortably after 60. The difficulty really ramps up after 70
@@legi0n47xyeah I was playing arc lash until 60ish. That's when you have to just stick to frost nova and at least two more defensive skills to survive. And if you do anything else, you risk dying and quit the game, at least as a sorc.
4:51 You can't target farm from Helltides anymore. Even if Uniques can drop, they're randomized. Opening a Helmet chest doesn't guarantee the unique you're going to get is a helmet. The chase for Tempest Roar is still there, sadly, which is my biggest issue with an otherwise super fun class.
@@ShiroNoFune Damn man, I've been grinding all week, level 94, still havent found one either. Its rough out there. Pulv is really good but I am dying to better single target
One thing i wish was changed about sorcerer is the need to take 3-4 defensive skills. EVERY single sorcerer build will use teleport, frost nova, and either frost armor or fire shield(or both). They are not only required to stay alive but frost nova is the biggest source of damage for us. I think buffing survivability and adding different ways to apply vulnerable will be a good start. Sorc damage is all-in-all fine right now It just sucks that it mostly relies on frost nova or cheesy ice mechanics for a boss like uber lilith. Planning on trying rogue for season 1 but will gladly make a new sorc if the right changes are made.
Thanks for being one of the people who recognizes the Necro problem Reached lvl 100, played all builds, finished on infinymist and I am tickling lilith.. So if I want to do the fight I either have to learn 50min of fighting her or farming bonespear gear, even doe I don't like the 1 button build Saw a lot of videos and you and someone else mentioned the problem with Necro, pigeon hold into using 4 buttons and then only bonespear being viable for lilith The funny part is, there are unique items like Doombringer which would prolly help the Necro but we can never experience it so its basicly wasted designtime for a solution for the infinymist build Bloodbuild should have worked like pulverize, buuut it doesnt Minions are a big investment and then they still feel weird because to get stronger you invest into them, but scaling + higher nmd still destroy them even at lvl 100 because of pathing/space.. If they can't hit/stand close to enemy's cause they bodyblock themselves.. I dunno a lot of pain points. Sometimes my cd's don't start while playing infinymist, but you play the animation and sound and I end up pressing the same button like 2-3 times and having to press the same rota of curse, tendrils, bonestorm and applying vuln with bonespear cause highest lucky hit chance cause sever alternative is a joke.. Sigh
I've only mained rogue since the game launched, so got nothing to compare it with...but for once I've lucked out with the class to play in terms of balance and feel good. Love it.
Rogue is the best designed class by a mile. Every core has a useful build and is fun to play in its own way. Def can’t say that for all the other classes
Same. Other than the general state of legendary and unique special powers being noting but % increases, not too bad. Maybe I’ll play something other than rogue in S1
I played rogue in the beta due to druid being clunky, decided to go rogue on launch day. While I want to play all other classes in seasons, I was spoiled by the rogue class, too fast too furious. When I leveled my necro, it was too slow, and low apm skills. But depending on the patch notes, I will go druid season 1
@@Sandraptor7 I’d say almost every druid build is useful but that doesn’t make them fun. Tornado wolf, basic attack wolf, storm druid, and even earth bear are strong yes but they are all boring af compared to rogue. Shred is probably the closest when it comes to rogues dynamic gameplay but that’s about it
I didn’t think you could target farm helltide chests anymore for uniques since ANY unique can drop from ANY chest…or did I misunderstand that? Love the Content bro!
That's right. I came down to the comments to say the same thing. You can only do the mystery test now you can't pick the helm chest to get a Unique helmet.
only the mystery chest will have a chance to drop any unique in your class loot pool. the specific chests (helm, boot, 2h wep, etc) will only drop that type of loot and therefore let you target farm uniques in that specific slot.
I only played barb and necro so far and I pretty much agree with everything u said. I think necro dmg needs a pretty big dmg nerf BUT if they touch necro in their current state the class will be dead, so yea necro need some serious changes tbh.. re:balance overpower to make blood viable, give bone storm unstoppable effect? make it easy to get fort, idk. And yea barbs are super awkward after all the nerfs, I feel like they need to change the marshal glyph or something so its possible to get perma shouts again, and I also think they could make some of the other skills stronger. make it so iron skin just gives u a fat 8k barrier or something, skills like steelgrasp/charge etc needs some pretty significant changes to feel worth using but im sure they could fix them if they spent a couple of days thinking/testing stuff.
This is a fair and objective class review. Well done. As a Sorc main myself. I play the Arc Lash/Unstable Currents build. I find it more enjoyable over Ice Shards. It's great against bosses. However, it feels odd being a Melee Mage (Sorcerer). Arc lash is a melee ability. So I agree with your statement, "What is Blizzards' gameplay philosophy for Sorcerer?" Great video.
On D3, my Wizard constantly had a damage shield. Maybe they're going for the same type of thing. Maybe they want us to prioritize toughness. Maybe Sorcerer will be the next Z class.
Having played 2 rogues, all I can say, rogue is the best designed class. Is fast, deals nice damage, and has many useful abilities, you are not desperate for legendary aspects, you can play in so many ways.
You can play all the classes in "so may ways". That doesn't make them viable. Rogue is basically a one trick pony. If you don't play it that way, it's gimped.
@@BerserkismRogue is my main and I think it's a good balance but I agree with you that is is literally just one build that dominates: twisting blades. Try playing anything else and one will see how hard it gets later. Bow is so hard (literally monsters will be next to you before you die the 2nd volley), trapper is hard to play (assuming you don't use twisting blades), etc. So you are right.
@@Berserkismthat’s not true at all. Rapid fire, penetrating shot and barrage all have their place in endgame. Flurry builds are decent too. Plus, twisting blades demands a lot of concentration IMO since you are literally in the middle of it. My rapid fire build in comparison is like a walk in the park. It’s true thought that TB is the meta, but there will always be a meta. It’s impossible to achieve 100% balance. It’s more about rock paper scissors or different horses for different courses.
It seems like they were scared that Sorcerer and Necromancer would be too strong, so they put in mechanics to limit them. The problem is they did not do that to every other class. It also makes there end game much harder than it should be. In addition they are not going to fix resistances until season 2. In conclusion Blizard does not like Sorcerer or Necromancer, or at best does not want them to dominate.
Not scared, incompetent. They released a broken game, that's all there is too it. It just happens to work well enough and be fun enough that most people overlook the fact it is by measurable criteria, broken and incomplete.
Beta game play felt good until people complained about the minions (umm Raxx) being too strong before completing the full game or knowing what was in store for us during end game. The game is busted due to nerfs/complaining from content creators. The Sorcerer, well... if resistance is busted (and worthless until fixed) and so to is the Sorcerer. The Sorcerer class is more busted than the Necromancer in my opinion. There isn't enough gem slots on gear to add skulls for armor but if the resistance actually worked... the Sorcerer would play as intended. The Season game play will be difficult for a Sorcerer if the player has to decide if they want to give up a gem slot for a heart gem. Hope the heart gem has defense/armor.
I think that’s the point that for some reason gets lost here. This game was not and still is not finished. Bugs, server issues, skills, itemization, QoL. It’s not even close to being 100%. It’s basically at a gone gold beta phase right now where it’s playable from start to finish. It needs a lot of work. Not enough builds overall, yet they are nerfing things into the ground. When every rogue you see is a twisting blades rogue your game is shit from a build standpoint. It’s a 6-7 at best right now and everyone had their blizz colored glasses on and gave it a 9-10.
A cool Barb legendary or unique would be something like increased damage reduction by x% and/or move speed by x% when no shouts active. To help you survive to the next wave of shouts
Thanks for this video; this is eye opening, makes sense, and is helping me decide on my first alt. Druid and Rogue feel like they're where they're supposed to be and in a good place with a lot of build diversity that works.
for corpse tendrils they could change it to when you kill enemies you get charges of corpses instead of having to find and click them on the ground. That way you can use tendrils wherever you want as long as you have a corpse charge
Awesome for sharing your knowledge, always great to hear a valued opinion. I have noticed a few builds on Maxroll are still beta builds, or is maxroll there for meta builds and the such? Keep up what you do doing :) To be fair i totally get you and others are blasting all day no rush.
Still leveling my first character, a sorc. It’s nice to hear how my experience has been in context of all the other classes. Running around in between cooldowns on boss fights feels wrong ha.
there is this strange journey for sorcs where it feels cool until 40 no matter what you play - then you run into some problems and learn how to really play the class - then at lvl 50 you can specc into your first "real build" and it feels awesome!!! you start to gear up and it feels even better since you finally can solve mana, and your cooldowns go down by 50% or more with t3 gear - the you play this until t4 - when switching to t4 you feel the squishyness for the first time so you remove some stuff from damage and put it into defense and it works - feels great again - then you push higher dungeons in the real endgame and then stuff gets annoying =) - thats why i changed my focus on sorc to make it the best possible speedfarming char - doing dungeons on my level or slightly higher and do not push NM or try to beat über lillith - first goal was get lvl 85 to have a chance at the über uniques and now just farming for fun while waiting for the season - If you play the class for what it is, you can have A LOT of fun with it. And its also a great class for playing in groups - people love your CC =)
@@dennisvogel5982i read the monsters need to be level 85 to drop uber uniques. So that would be NM Tier 31 or higher dungeons- not sure if that’s what you meant. I’m looking forward to trying out Sorc in Season 1, but i play for fun because, you know, it’s a video game
@@Filthyanimal9 yeah sure - lvl 85 for helltides basically and NM you can do before that - but i just wanted to have a chance for them to drop at least =) - was a nice milestone between 70 and 100 at least
Thanks raxx, I hope blizzard is watching! I hope we can expect a lot of the annoyances to be worked on for season 3. As they said season 1 is done, and season 2 is in its final stages. I also think I'm going to go rogue for season 1. Barbarian just dies instantly even if I max defense rolls on pants and aspects at like NM 70. How the heck do I bump it up 30 more...
Sorcerer - ice shards Druid - werenado Rogue - twisting blades Barb - whirlwind Necro - Bonespear Every class has an op build it's just preference. Content creators get stuff nerfed
Necro corpse skills should work like in D3, it just picks a corpse in a radius around the cursor (closest to farthest) and uses the skill on it. No reason anyone needs to be pixel perfect, the general area is good enough.
I don't know what you people are taking about, it's already like this. If you shift and spam click without moving the cursor, you will blow up all the corpses in the area, even the ones that aren't under the cursor.
I played both barb and rogue to 100 and while 1-50 or 1-60 was way better and more fun on the rogue getting deeper in the late game I got way more frustrated on my rogue with all the cc that is arround than on my barb. Once I got >90% shout uptime with the correct aspects and paragons I could pretty much spin to win in NM dungeons with enemies 10+ levels above me while hardly focussing on the game and watching a movie on my second screen. On the rogue on the other hand I had to concentrate way more not to die in cc combos especially on some affixes like cold enchanted.
Rouge has an insane amount of unstoppable. Shadow Step with 2 charges and a 4 sec cd, concealment has 4 sec of unstoppable 15 sec cd, shadow clone has 5 sec of unstoppable 45 cd, couple everything with preparation and a core skill spam build and shadow clone is a 10 sec cd and resets all cds. You have three aspects that give you unstoppable and are easy to trigger. You have godly healing over 1000hp/s with stolen vigor. Siphoning strikes is about equal with low att speed and at least double with max attack speed if you can crit. You can get large cc time reduction and dr while ccd too. Yes you mostly have to break cc if you can't keep shadow clone up but rouge doesn't have a lot of set up and if it does usually its fast and getting interrupted is just anti fun not build breaking.
@@Casualfield I didn't say rogue has no tools, but how does the whole paragraph you wrote compare to having (almost) permanent unstoppable with one single button?
Oh yeah the Freeze CC you get hammered over and over with is just insane in general... Or the blop that spawns and follows you like a heat seeking misil, in the exact moment you get CC from an elite... The game mechanics are utter garbage in general
@@liangdar9675 "Once I got >90% shout uptime with the correct aspects and paragons I could pretty much spin to win in NM dungeons with enemies 10+ levels above me while hardly focussing on the game and watching a movie on my second screen" I do the exact same thing on rouge. A recast s clone before the first clone even disappears. I ignore every cc/elite in the game even in serpents lair.
About druid. I would like to see more love for a human elementalist or zoo druid way to play. Not for me, I really love the metamorph druid. But... For now, it's just near impossible to play endgame in human form compared to the good interactions you said between metamorph uniques, aspect, the spirit bonuses, the paragons ect ect.
It blows my mind how many people are senselessly agreeing with his bad take too. Necro cleared Uber Lilith first in season one if I am not mistaken. Lol. Post nerf that was supposed to kill the class.
I absolutely agree with the sorc part. Sorc could be fragile but a nuke machine, casting powerful spells destroying mass foes from a distance. But in Diablo 4, sorc is weirdly a melee char, regardless of using ice/lightning/fire, you need to teleport in, frost nova and now you can do damage, and only to a small pack of enemies because sorc literally has no good aoe skills at all, wtf is that? And sorc does close to 0 dmg if you can't cc monsters in higher tier dungeons, so it's the worst class in the game against bosses/structures. A typical sorc in Diablo 4 uses 1 core skill and 5 defensive/cc skills for god's sake! Unforgivable
My only wish for Rogue is to have a skill that does cold damage outside of the imbuements. Poison has poison trap and they have others that do shadow. It seems like they forgot to give Rogue a cold skill. Other than that Rogue feels great. The screen nukes from penetrating shot are awesome.
100%. Friend picked Rogue and I picked Sorc. Currently he's 100 and I stopped at around 70 because why bother continuing when S1 is coming up and I can just reroll. Focused on getting Renown maxed now instead.
Played Sorc for 1st class at launch, currently level 76 pushing low level nm (~tier 25 atm) and farming helltides etc. I agree with you on this and will be rolling a rogue for season 1. It really sucks because I love my sorc, Ice shards is fun and I can blow screens up with my ice nova and shatter combos etc. but I still randomly get one shot out of nowhere (I’m in unoptimized gear but it is actually pretty solid with good defensive stats on my chest and legs), which makes it kinda frustrating in a lot of cases. What class you gonna roll for S1?
Sorc is a good pick for a season starter because it is strong all through the game and not very gear dependent. Also it allows for a more safe playstyle than a barb. Sure it is alot weaker against bosses but bosses are such a small and least threatening aspect of the game. I had no issues at any time reaching level 100 in hardcore with my sorc
My temp character is a Sorc. It's been fun, but I am going to go with Necro for season 1 and then rogue for my final season. I don't think that I am going to be able to keep up with it after that.
@@bittebohlin296 Which game have you been playing? Because it sounds like you're talking about D2 rather than D4. Sorcs are NOT strong all through the game in D4. You start out 'decent' and deteriorate from there. Basically it's all downhill for sorc the instant you start needing to rely on cooldown abilities for damage output, then you watch the other classes just charge in and RMB their way to victory, no need for anything resembling a rotation and no getting one randomly one shotted. Some builds/classes are very gear dependent (I'm looking at you druid) so will struggle a bit in mid-late game, but builds that gear dependent are more the exception than the rule. If anything, playing sorc made me envy the gear-dependent builds, because at least they have gear to look forward to, sorc gear is utter trash. Players old and new would be best advised to stay the hell away from the sorc. Pretty tragic tbh, I'm a long time sorc main in the series, but it has literally never been as bad as this, not even in the dark days of early D3. It's so bad that I find it difficult to believe it isn't deliberate on Activision's part, somebody senior in the dev team must REALLY hate the sorc to ruin it this comprehensively.
i agree with pretty much everything Raxx said. I have every class up to at least 75 and main a bone necro. Trying to find a corpse on the floor while a blizzard/ice spike is going on with poison bubbles popping is next to impossible. I resorted to just nonstop clicking the skill until I see the cooldown. Effectively Spray and pray. Druid is running around with 12 tornadoes that destroy everything and moving at the speed of light while necro is busy spamming evade to try to catch up the group and when he/she does the minions sans the Golem instantly pop to a AOE while tornadoes fly around. I've been playing as a minion master for 30+ years in various games. You can play end game supposedly with minions - but it's like eating soup with a fork after playing bone spear. Same thing with the sorc. 4 skills/actions need to go off perfectly to kill a group. One misstep or rare lag spike (we never have those in Diablo 4 now do we) and you're running around like a chicken waiting for frost nova to come online again. So much easier to left click 3 times with my barb and then spin for the next 30 seconds and then popping up the map while a mob beats on you just to show off.
You can't target farm Uniques from Helltides. They stated all chest have the ability to drop any Unique iterm. Can get the Tempest Roar from a legs, or hands chest.
I always apreciate your takes Raxx. Thx for all the content. As for classes - I played all till lvl 25 but I leveled up 3 druids to 100. I just LOVE shapeshifting classes in aRPGs and RPGs - For me, the power fantasy of being a druid in D4 is fantastic. I'm really loving the variety so far.
I miss the right-click gameplay of Sorc in D2. Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Chain Lightning, etc. I just love that ranged gameplay where you cast your ranged elemental spell of choice and delete enemies. You can't do that in D4. It's always teleport in and have the burning package associated to your enchantment slots with tons of shields and frost nova. It's exactly the opposite way I want to play a Sorc.
Sorc changes: 1. Increase barrier generation from all sources and make barrier last longer OR increase base armour 2. Fix resource generation and management aspects/passives ( looking at you chain lightning aspect) 3. More sources of vulnerable from passives so im not stuck using the same skill across all builds 4. Bosses no longer FULLY immune to chilled (though cap it at say 25%) that way there's no longer a bossing issue
I dumped grizzly rage once I found how fun running a wolf nature hybrid with nature's fury, crone's, and the tectonic spikes pulverize and trampleslide aspects. I've never looked back. So much more fun and less management intensive. Tbf, I enjoy resource management. But I don't even need to watch my spirit because I use it once every 12 secs for the guaranteed empowered pulverize or if I need to get a proc to CD hurricane instantly which I rarely need. I just looted another Waxing Gibbous ancestral last night so I might revisit Shred, but in general pulverize shockwave is overrated. I dumped it because pulverize only really compares to my other skills remotely when it's got it's empower up. But druids have a LOT of viable options and it's good. Too many ppl are looking at a small number of ppl stuck on one meta build and not experimenting with aspects that build themselves.
Cool video, appreciate you giving us your thoughts. Maybe do it again post patch ? We know there is a massive balance pass coming soon to coincide with Season 1, so some issues may get addressed. Personally I'm hoping they make many more builds viable and completely revert the Skeleton and Hydra nerfs.
I liked blood surge necro in HC. Was easy/stress free. Got movement speed pieces, high HP fat overpowers, can spam bloodsurge dummy fast and never run out of resources. Can go IMMUNE whenever with blood mist and gets its CD basically to 0. So you always have an oh shit button.
I went the opposite direction where sorc was my first character and got him to 100 and in currently playing barb and he's 75, planning on getting him to 100 here pretty soon. You're criticism is spot on, all the set up a sorc has to go through (despite it being in seconds) compared to the run and whirlwind forever of barbarian is stupid. Definitely feels like there's a disconnect between the class ideas.
This is the best D4 video I've seen so far. Every thread and vid out there is super biased and lacking in any real empathy or understanding of all the class imbalances and issues, finally a video where we get a good look at all the classes, this is a great video heading into season 1, thank you.
I personally have always liked the idea of melee classes with 'ranged' or hybrid build options and vice versa. If i play a new rpg thats the first thing i look at theory-crafting. I hope we get more options like this, or at least A tier build options that will push whatever content we feel like playing. Rather than having to stick with a few meta builds to clear top content. At the moment im enjoying messing around with necrobon's (i think thats his name) shadowmist build, trying to add in some blood magic spells as well but keep it viable. Its fun
I am still completing act 2. I can squeeze two hours of free time every week while these lads get to do all the fun stuff. I don't think I can play these games like I used to...it kind of sucks.
Thanks for the insights into all the classes! I only played druid until this point and it feels like you come to a near stop if you dont find the neccessary uniques since the helm is a must have for nearly every end game build. crone staff is very good for one end game build but if you get it, it boost your power tremendously. I like the take on sorcerers and i wish, if they go with the route of haveing to setup that much to do damage, they bring back something like the old bazooka wizard. much setup, huge amount of skill needed, but lots of damage.
My problem with the classes and really just the game in general is the lack of build diversity. I mean just listen to you explaining the builds that are good how many did you list per class at most 4 different builds? I do agree that blizzard did really well with Druid like you mentioned getting all the pieces to make the tornado wolf work. Even then you have skills like you said that your pigeon holed into taking i.e. Frost nova on sorc. I don't want to be Required to take a certain skill for every build, Do I want to play a barb with shouts every time, sometimes no but they are too valuable to swap another skill out for.
It’s not even the lack of builds based on skills, which is crap. You are lucky to have 2 per class viable for high end content. It’s the fact that each build requires you to have specific skills slotted for defense or something similar. For high end content you HAVE to make enemies vulnerable. It isn’t an option, so you need to spot a skill that does that. For barbs like you said you have to have shouts equipped. At the end of the day it feels like you are only left with 2-3 skill slots and that’s not the definition of “play your way”.
I agree with you on sorceress, it's just a joke that Rouge does anything the sorceress does, just way better while also being much more survivable and with an actually useful primary start and legendary paragon nodes worth taking.
I really hope the devs will listen to your suggestions for D4 characters. you have a more credible opinion on each class, being able to level each one to 100. that's a lot of adjusting and learning of each class to maximize them, knowing their weakness and strengths. Great work!
I think Necro is one of the best classes right now and that is from the perspective that they have the most build options. Blood Mist is godly in general really and I agree with that. I also agree that Necro movement isn't great but a +4 Evade Charges boots and some move speed really helps with that. I'm looking forward to my 2nd Necro to try experimenting with Blood Builds. currently I am Lv 82 and I'm clearing NM 50's with a non-meta Darkness+Bone Spirit build that deletes groups and resets all my cooldowns every pull. I'm never without my Tendrils, Mist, or Bone Spirit, and I maintain full Essence at all times because it only takes 2-3 Corpse Explosions to get back to 100%. I think if anything Necro suffers from the same thing you pointed out about Sorcerers. Necro is heavily rotation based on non-spear builds and gets the same or less damage results compared to Barbs or Druids or Rogues. Overall though, we're really early in D4 and I think Necro is a keystone for how the game should be played. I think Bone Spear will get knocked down and several other builds for other classes will also get knocked down. When that happens, I think people are going to see how versatile the Necro can really be.
As a necro player I think macroboi did a great video about the sort of abstract problem with necros. For some other classes it’s like core skill X sucks and skill Y and Z are godly so players build this way or that way with this aspect or that … and blizzard could tweak that easily by buffing or nerfing skills in one direction etc. necros have a harder issue bc: Bonespear is nearly prohibitively better than the other build options atm (like you need a reasons NOT to make that choice rather than reasons to make it) Secondly, for nearly all necros, given resource/corpse mgmt, cdr & survivability … it “feels” like 4 of 6 slots are all but mandated to be the same 4 skills … so you’re pigeonholed a bit into some samesiness on skill and then corresponding aspects and then on appropriate gear slots …even if it all looks superficially different. I love my necro. I don’t think the class is broken or in need of fixing - and I don’t think simply nerfing bonespear is a good idea. I do think necro needs some deeper design revision though
What is the bug that enables bulwark druid? and what is your tips on getting Tempest Roar? Helmet chests in hellfire? or did I misunderstand the maxroll post that any chest can drop any unique?
Quick question, for levelling alts is it still better to do so in WT1, one of the reasons this was most effective was due to also going through the campaing faster, if we skip it, is wt1 faster? For the season I really want to get to wt3 asap, density in wt 2 is really low and your gear is not that important since every roll is very small, after playing at wt3 and 4, wt 2 is kinda boring tbh.
I’m rocking a 40% lucky hit chance. I put frost nova in my enchantment slot. Six fire skills on my bar . My hydras spread frost nova for me. Level 81, I can beat level 95 mobs . My strat is place two firewalls and two hydras , run in circles until they get a little closer . Pop big fire snake, hit flame shield step into the pack , they all get immobilized, aspect for flame shield. Then I unleash fireball about five times and they’re all dead. A burst of flame with ice chunks coming out. It doesn’t make sense, but frost nova is a must have.
Great Video. Pretty much all same thoughts as me. Did every char to mids 70's. Rouge just felt so fun leveling compared to other because from lvl 1-75. Did TB, barrage, rapid fire, all great and fun throughout leveling. I never had a issue of resources once unless i went to crazy. Druid and barb was such a humongous pain leveling just for resource management. Druid and barb got more fun after getting full %cd/resource which took too much work. Nerco was pretty alright and sorc was wonder what they want this class to be.To many Cd's and mana when i didnt 1 shot aoe.
The problem I have with Rogue is that you're pretty much forced to use Twisting Blades if you want to compete in the endgame. I leveled mine up to 100 using a poison imbue/poison trap/barrage build and it worked extremely well, I was one shotting bosses up until I reached T61+ at which point it drops off severely. I have close to BIS gear in all slots, almost 15k health, 12k armor with disobedience, huge amounts of DR on my gear, and I'm still getting one shot or frozen and insta killed in the mid T60s range. Now I'm kinda just stuck where I'm at, can't progress in NM dungeons or compete against Uber Lilith unless I swap to Twisting Blades, which I don't want to do, so my only other option is to just... not play, I guess. Idk if I'm even gonna bother with S1 to be honest. I don't like being forced to play a specific build if I want to be "good" and I think that's my major problem with D4, seems like there are very few "viable" build options at the late end game, and IMO that severely reduces the fun and discourages long term play for a lot of players.
great points about all, especially the sorc with needing rotations basically. after trying to play a lot of the classes/builds, sorc definitely feels like the most work for little reward
Idk I felt like Necro has been so fun to play w/ minions + corpse. You are right that it takes more hand/aim skill work for less return than pushing W to spin to win. But playing the reaper minion for necro give you the corpse free
love necros but feel need of a corpse limiting - after you group em up tho it's super satisfying love pulverize how it just does instant dmg right there no setting up - jump in and butcher love sorc for freeze build it's just pop pop done super fun and love their animations - but once that rotation is done you're toast without fireshield haven't lvled rogue much but already at 40 it's a beast - well all-rounded I keep coming back to druid and how satisfying the pulverise is ... my fav perhaps note: I omitted the barb as I haven't even played it yet soz haha
Nothing should be nerfed as a necro that only uses minions (im only lvl 72) but i just want the minions buffed... I dont ever want builds ruins by nerfs... Its a pve game let us be OP the problem i have is i dont wanna be forced to play a certain build because the rest of the builds arent good... Just buff the stuff that is weak and leave the rest of the builds alone and let the players have fun being OP.
As a necro main I will say I enjoy blood having a higher skill floor to get into, and it can do some very surprising things though it struggles in single target damage. Blood Lance just had to get hotfixed because it was causing server crashes by scaling upwards almost at an infinite rate. With reap, tendrils and blood surge I can empty a room of any health level mobs in seconds without moving. In terms of Uber Lilith and high level dungeon bosses necros without bone spear are for sure in a tough spot but I don’t think it’s completely dire; if minions get more survivability a thorns/Iron Maiden setup will probably be extremely viable
My first character was a Sorc and felt good up until around 60-70 when my barb friend got super strong and I kinda stayed the same. Reached 100 and still felt like I was quite strong damage wise, but weak in defence. Played a lot at 100, got incrementally better and can finally do higher NMs around 75-80 but it's tough. Made a druid alt, got the helm around 70, tornado build online and I breeze through T60 NMs at level 80.... taking no damage, everything dies instantly, no setup needed just press buttons on CD and spam nado. I now understand that sorc is severely broken and insanely over-complicated to get the damage out, and super squishy. Suggestions would be frost nova aspect that makes it cast at range - maybe sucks things in like raiment. Remove the triple dipping on aspect of control, but increase the overall to make it the same, so we don't need them to be afflicted by frozen + stun + immobilise all at the same time for any meaningful damage. Fix Intellect / Resistances - other classes mainstat provides damage and survivability, intellect gives no survivability at all. It's also not even magic damage that kills us it's mostly physical, so it needs to increase armor somehow, even if it's a passive that says "your resistances also increase your armor by x%" or something.
Hey Raxxanteraxx, Do you think that they would buff companions in the druid build to make it viable? To be honest I wanted to have a companion build but I just 'felt' railroaded to nature and Shapeshifting Builds.
I am trying to use reap, sever, corpse tendrils, corpse explosion, decrepify, blood mist. And no you do not have to kill an enemy at all to cause a corpse you get like a 12% chance to cause a corpse with damage from hewed flesh and once every 4 seconds you always cause a corpse with reap, yeah your corpses despawn when you explode it but corpse tendrils do not use up a corpse, my CT cooldown is at 7 seconds and very often i find myself killing the mobs before the tendrils even go off, BUT when I am in the thick of it in a NM dungeon the CT's are amazingly good. I have spec'd into adding fortify whenever a corpse is spawned and for prolonged battles it really adds up, future gear will keep in mind to now allow for fortify from blood orbs, because tendrils has a %3X chance to cause a blood orb on cast, and that chance happens to be per enemy contacted during a cast. We also get equipment perks that add damg for so many seconds after eating a blood orb, I think the build has promise, but it is taking a lot of work to get all the right aspects and resources to test out builds because ingame it is expensive to try and re-roll all the time not to mention how expensive it is to change aspects.
Truly wonderful video, especially someone that played the sorc. It was unbelievable OP from like level 55-80 when I had mana figured out, and then it was a shit sandwich after that of getting 1 shotted by everything. Will be doing rogue in S1 for sure.
Didn't they take out target farming, from the Helltide chests? I thought the patch-notes stated that uniques were indiscriminate of the type of chest you opened, that any chest would drop any unique? From the Blue post: "Gameplay Changes Helltide Chests will now have the chance to drop any Unique and not be restricted to specific item slot limitations from any chest."
Casual player here, hit the head on the nail with necros… I’m currently trying to grind to 100 to beat Uber Lilith and made a decent blood surge build to clear nightmare dungeons but that was all it was good for… to save the long hassle later I switched to bone spear around 75ish just because it was the only end game build viable.
This will be my first time playing Diablo. I don’t have the time building multiple characters so who I start with is what I’ll end with. That being said, should I go Rouge or Druid?
I really hope Blizzard doesn't just nerf bone spear and buff a few Sorc skills and think that will just fix the classes. Both Sorc and Necro need so much work in redesign.
Fire sorcerer with fireball and frost nova enchantments. Double hydra. Slow but efficient Also there are pants that also cause frost nova to go off at a percentage (ice hearts brais
yup i agree with you greatly..i went into release doing my usual Sorc and ive basically stuck with that this whole time up to now and i gotta say im really struggling with the fun. dont always have a whole lot of time to play and ive been struggling to even reach level 70 even though most of my playing was before the exp patch and since then the little time ive played, leveling has been much easier in the content. i dont have much motivation to keep playing this sorc on the eternal realm and im debating on what i wanna go with when the season starts....any suggestions? im probably gonna give sorc a break although if i did start one again i would def start off with lightning build for lvl process. been mostly considering Druid. Rogue and Necro would be secondary choices.
Just found your channel. Damn you went hard to max all the classes. Thanks for the info… also I appreciate the playlist breakdown of the videos more UA-camrs need to follow suit. Good luck season 1
I think rogue is probably the most balanced class. I mean I'm bias because I have 5 rogues above 80 lmao, but still. I love that you can make literally every skill work and perform proficiently in high level nightmare dungeons as long as your build is in harmony. I think the main issue with the game right now is that vulnerable is just too strong. Regardless of your class, it seems like the strongest build is one which revolves around making stuff vulnerable, and that is particularly felt on sorcs and necros, the two classes which you just so happened to mention felt clunky. I haven't played all the classes to a high level, so this video was informative. Well spoken and a fair critique of every class. I'll be sure to subscribe
Most sorcerer builds require you to use the fire bolt enchantment and all 4 defensive skills, it is incredibly restrictive on a fundamental level.
Who wants to play a class in a ARPG where you have to use 65% of your ability slots for defensive skills just to actually survive. What a terrible design, how did Blizzard not notice how problematic this was in the beta?
@@cinifiend they were to focused on nerfing hydra and taking all fun from it.
100 sorc here trust me just play another class it's getting worse and worse
@@Der-Sensenmann what do you mean it's going to get worse? How is Blizzard going to nerf them further when they struggle the most in the end game?
In any case, It's a really fun class to play until nm dungeon 60+.
So the mystical mage has to be melee while the werebeast gets ranged tornados... Got it
Sorcs have a very cool skill set/class mechanic and the highest potential for interesting builds but blizzard did everything they could to remove those choices and shoehorn everyone into the same skills/enchantments at endgame. So much of the fun stuff will never be used because it comes at the cost of replacing something boring that's mandatory for damage.
Yeah most interesting stuff has been overnerfed so were stuck with skill+frost nova for all builds.
Stop running youtuber builds lol
Nailed the Sorc. I worked so hard to make Meteor work in WT4 just to watch my friend on druid switch his whole build at level 80 and wipe nm40 dungeons just not even having to think. At one point he didn't believe i had to aim the meteor because it was so much weaker than the tornados that were roaming around the screen lol.
Lol! This was exactly my sorc experience when I tried to make meteor work. My druid buddy just ran past one shotting the entire screen with lightning 😂
fookin rough man
@@broadsidedarth7801true, im just glad the nerfd barb again!
Yeah I gave up on meteor when I hit 600k with the 300% dmg bracelets at lvl 80 with all my procs. Its awful because the lvl 70 rogue hits more than that with less effort…. One huge failing is the exploit glyph. Why make it hard for necro and sorc? Just idiocy
@@loganhall6660just did a 50 no problem with my 95 rougue. Could definitely go higher
Necro minion builds are why I bought the game in the first place. It would be nice to see the ability to get even more minions beyond the +2 or 3 from aspects. I don't expect to have 20+ minions like in 2. But increased surviability and numbers would be nice.
I want 20 minions !!!!
I have no issue with my minion build lol
I was shocked to see the barb casually checking his map while mobs were hitting him. I am not even brave enough to write something in my chat while playing sorc, because of almost everything killing me in 1-2 hits.
I feel you, my fellow Sorc.
Consider another build then. I had this issue also and I needed to watch youtube videos in order to get tankier.
I opted to switch out my Iceheart Brais for the aspect of disobedience. That defense helps a ton so I don’t die just from a charger glancing at me.
It helps when your main stat also gives you armor
Rogue is the same way, very squishy class.
"Here we have Rhykker in a very elegant gown" just made my day lol
Male Sorc really has the worst transmog in the game.
He’s a Blizzard/Microsoft simp so sounds about right.
Rhykkanterax uwu xoxoxo
I am DEAD LOL
Rhykker is the best. Great youtuber
LOL normal speeds? Most people don't have one level 100 yet. And that's playing 8 hours a day. He must have no life, power levelled them.
@TheYobbo71 Get outta here, ya knob! Rax is a class act, you don’t talk about him like that.
Life as a sorc in endgame atm: Being glass while looking for the cannon part.
Cannon isn’t the issue, glass is the problem
It would be fine if sorc would have the highest dps output of all the classes in the game as tradeoff... but it doesn't.
ur just bad
I was not expecting it, but rogue ended up being my favorite class. They just seemed very well designed. Almost everything works.
smoke granades suck :P
Great Video. As someone who played a lot of barbarian and necromancer I 100% agree.

Yeah, I kept adding more and more defensive skills going up in level, lol.
If they're not gonna touch vuln they gotta give sorc more ways to proc it.
@@wildmarks Yeah, only frost has ways to apply vuln via talents/paragons :(
True. I use all 4 defensive skill with the frost ult
Thanks for being one of the people who recognizes the Necro problem
Reached lvl 100, played all builds, finished on infinymist and I am tickling lilith.. So if I want to do the fight I either have to learn 50min of fighting her or farming bonespear gear, even doe I don't like the 1 button build
Saw a lot of videos and you and someone else mentioned the problem with Necro, pigeon hold into using 4 buttons and then only bonespear being viable for lilith
The funny part is, there are unique items like Doombringer which would prolly help the Necro but we can never experience it so its basicly wasted designtime for a solution for the infinymist build
Bloodbuild should have worked like pulverize, buuut it doesnt
Minions are a big investment and then they still feel weird because to get stronger you invest into them, but scaling + higher nmd still destroy them even at lvl 100 because of pathing/space..

Was just worrying about that
That's right.
@@blkmro I must’ve missed this in the patch notes. All I saw was any unique can drop from any helltide chest now. I’ll have to go back and look.
@@blkmrothey changed that after shako farming
I only played barb and necro so far and I pretty much agree with everything u said. I think necro dmg needs a pretty big dmg nerf BUT if they touch necro in their current state the class will be dead, so yea necro need some serious changes tbh.. re:balance overpower to make blood viable, give bone storm unstoppable effect? make it easy to get fort, idk. And yea barbs are super awkward after all the nerfs, I feel like they need to change the marshal glyph or something so its possible to get perma shouts again, and I also think they could make some of the other skills stronger. make it so iron skin just gives u a fat 8k barrier or something, skills like steelgrasp/charge etc needs some pretty significant changes to feel worth using but im sure they could fix them if they spent a couple of days thinking/testing stuff.
you might be the first youtuber I actually like. Good insights, good articulation. Very smart.
Not gonna get very far playing anything but frost sorc with all defensive talents. Try to toe to toe at dung plus 50s.
Having played 2 rogues, all I can say, rogue is the best designed class. Is fast, deals nice damage, and has many useful abilities, you are not desperate for legendary aspects, you can play in so many ways.
There is literally no other class that makes me want to play. Soooo yeah blizzard has a lot of homework to do.
The only viable leveling build is Twisting blades sadly..
Necro beats uber lilith in 60 seconds... I think he has a lot of love rn, his comments were directed after he gets nerfed if he ever does get nerfed.

Would prefer it with " if you have no shouts on your skillbar", as a way to enable builds that don't rely on shouts.
Perhaps %resist per amount on cooldown
Let’s clarify and say “damage reduction”, since resist is trash
@@Burlehmangus yeah, meant damage reduction
@@daniellewandowski6945 also a good idea. Give a portion of what you get with shouts without them
Thanks for this video; this is eye opening, makes sense, and is helping me decide on my first alt.
Q
Still leveling my first character, a sorc. It’s nice to hear how my experience has been in context of all the other classes. Running around in between cooldowns on boss fights feels wrong ha.
Not sure what level you are, but this goes away if you gear properly in the low/mid 70s. At least as ice shards.
there is this strange journey for sorcs where it feels cool until 40 no matter what you play - then you run into some problems and learn how to really play the class - then at lvl 50 you can specc into your first "real build" and it feels awesome!!! you start to gear up and it feels even better since you finally can solve mana, and your cooldowns go down by 50% or more with t3 gear - the you play this until t4 - when switching to t4 you feel the squishyness for the first time so you remove some stuff from damage and put it into defense and it works - feels great again - then you push higher dungeons in the real endgame and then stuff gets annoying =) - thats why i changed my focus on sorc to make it the best possible speedfarming char - doing dungeons on my level or slightly higher and do not push NM or try to beat über lillith - first goal was get lvl 85 to have a chance at the über uniques and now just farming for fun while waiting for the season - If you play the class for what it is, you can have A LOT of fun with it.

I also think I'm going to go rogue for season 1. Barbarian just dies instantly even if I max defense rolls on pants and aspects at like NM 70. How the heck do I bump it up 30 more...
Sorcerer - ice shards
Druid - werenado
Rogue - twisting blades
Barb - whirlwind
Necro - Bonespear
Every class has an op build it's just preference.
Content creators get stuff nerfed
Necro Bonespear
@simonshura9144 Yeah, I realized I forgot to add it. Updated comment 😊
Raxx's commitment to the "Necro bad" bit is commendable.
Necro bad, barb good. Despite the fact that it's the exact opposite in game.
Necro is the best Class for lvling safely in HC
It blows my mind how many people are senselessly agreeing with his bad take too. Necro cleared Uber Lilith first in season one if I am not mistaken. Lol. Post nerf that was supposed to kill the class.
@@FitGuyAZ577 necro was destroying Uber lilith way before season 1
@@sm4sh3d oh I know. Basically, Raxx was never right no matter what patch/season we are talking about.
I personally had an awful experience leveling druid until finally some useful legendaries dropped. Night and day difference after that.
How is the druid class?
@@80Mrblueeyes Druid imo has great items but feels bad without them.
My only wish for Rogue is to have a skill that does cold damage outside of the imbuements. Poison has poison trap and they have others that do shadow. It seems like they forgot to give Rogue a cold skill. Other than that Rogue feels great. The screen nukes from penetrating shot are awesome.
What you need to know is that you have to be crazy to pick Sorc for Season 1 if they don’t change A LOT of stuff about the class.
Agreed
Dbl agree fix my sorc blizzard
Then go play D2
Yeah you can, on console anyways

RIP target farming Druid helm. You will be missed 😢
Pretty sure he said you can still farm the helm from the chests. They just adjusted the super unique drop rates
@@mightymcbeast3594 They changed it so that all uniques can drop from chests in order to quick fix the barb exploit.
Sorc changes:
1. Increase barrier generation from all sources and make barrier last longer OR increase base armour
2. Fix resource generation and management aspects/passives ( looking at you chain lightning aspect)
3. More sources of vulnerable from passives so im not stuck using the same skill across all builds
4. Bosses no longer FULLY immune to chilled (though cap it at say 25%) that way there's no longer a bossing issue
Bro, your takes are GOLDEN! Love your content man, you deserve way more attention but you'll get there eventually I'm sure of it!
I would like to see Druid do something without Grizzly Rage
I play nature fury bear without grizzly. T80+
Played wolf nado until 80 then went full trample slide, feels great good cc, insane damage, super tanky got to 100 in a breeze
Play trample slide! 🤔
I run petrify and stomp everything
Cool video, appreciate you giving us your thoughts. Maybe do it again post patch ? We know there is a massive balance pass coming soon to coincide with Season 1, so some issues may get addressed.

They won't. It's modern blizzard. I hate myself for believing. Come back to reality
@@nobodyfrfr2978 The patch is less than 2 weeks out man, just chill. People losing their damn minds because the game isn't perfect day one.
That's my backup build if Bonespear gets nerfed and becomes unviable.
Show build
PSA target farming is dead. You cant target helm to get tempest I got 2 razerplates off the helm chest yesterday.
I haven’t even gotten legendaries from the helm chests yet. At this point I’m just going to do the mystery chests
I’m a noob what that mean
They mentioned in the hotfix that any unique can drop from any type of chest now. So back to farming mystery chests
Great video. Rhykker in a very elegant gown was super highlight here lol!
This was really nice to see. Thanks for the commentary.
Came across your video randomly. Currently have a level 51 Necromancer and a 26 Rogue in Tier 2 Act 3. Loving Rogue with Shadow Imbuement.
Appreciate all your time and info in this video. Looking forward to the patch notes to decide what class to roll in S1.
As a necro player I think macroboi did a great video about the sort of abstract problem with necros.
For some other classes it’s like core skill X sucks and skill Y and Z are godly so players build this way or that way with this aspect or that … and blizzard could tweak that easily by buffing or nerfing skills in one direction etc. necros have a harder issue bc:
Bonespear is nearly prohibitively better than the other build options atm (like you need a reasons NOT to make that choice rather than reasons to make it)
Secondly, for nearly all necros, given resource/corpse mgmt, cdr & survivability … it “feels” like 4 of 6 slots are all but mandated to be the same 4 skills … so you’re pigeonholed a bit into some samesiness on skill and then corresponding aspects and then on appropriate gear slots …even if it all looks superficially different.
Loved your thoughts on the sorceror, it mirrors my experience. Vindication!
Glad some big streamers are coming up with those comparisons... and make the plight of the sorcerer more well known and recognised!! :O :)
great points about all, especially the sorc with needing rotations basically. after trying to play a lot of the classes/builds, sorc definitely feels like the most work for little reward
Holy Sh!t - grats!
Quick question - Did you skip the campaign on the "alts," or play each like the first?
I am an ice sorcerer and its the only class I have played and only level 85 so far. I was trying to decide what I wanted to try for season one.
loved the insights, Rax is a true diablo whisperer and a pillar in the community
Idk I felt like Necro has been so fun to play w/ minions + corpse. You are right that it takes more hand/aim skill work for less return than pushing W to spin to win. But playing the reaper minion for necro give you the corpse free
All the viability comments really only apply to the end game. I am having a blast with minions too.
love necros but feel need of a corpse limiting - after you group em up tho it's super satisfying
love pulverize how it just does instant dmg right there no setting up - jump in and butcher
love sorc for freeze build it's just pop pop done super fun and love their animations - but once that rotation is done you're toast without fireshield
haven't lvled rogue much but already at 40 it's a beast - well all-rounded
I keep coming back to druid and how satisfying the pulverise is ... my fav perhaps
note: I omitted the barb as I haven't even played it yet soz haha
Thanks for that amazing video! It helped me a lot. Probably going to play Barb or Druid for Season01
Which character do you use to do the tier level 100?
To be honest I wanted to have a companion build but I just 'felt' railroaded to nature and Shapeshifting Builds.
sick, i wish blizzard has a most burrows done badge for you
Im currently level 0 on all classes so im getting there
I am trying to use reap, sever, corpse tendrils, corpse explosion, decrepify, blood mist.
VERY good video. Spot on, especially for the Sorcerer.
Thanks for making this. I agree with you so much on the shortcomings of each class.
Truly wonderful video, especially someone that played the sorc. It was unbelievable OP from like level 55-80 when I had mana figured out, and then it was a shit sandwich after that of getting 1 shotted by everything. Will be doing rogue in S1 for sure.
You a beast bro been watching your content for years on and off keep up the good work man
Someone posted the first 10 min of this on tik tok so I had to find ya and give ya a follow, seems like great content
Didn't they take out target farming, from the Helltide chests? I thought the patch-notes stated that uniques were indiscriminate of the type of chest you opened, that any chest would drop any unique?
From the Blue post:
"Gameplay Changes
Helltide Chests will now have the chance to drop any Unique and not be restricted to specific item slot limitations from any chest."
Havent played other classes but your critique of sorc is spot on
Thanks for the analysis on sorc, I've been saying the exact same thing for weeks and my friends just call me bad.
Slow but efficient
Also there are pants that also cause frost nova to go off at a percentage (ice hearts brais
yup i agree with you greatly..i went into release doing my usual Sorc and ive basically stuck with that this whole time up to now and i gotta say im really struggling with the fun. dont always have a whole lot of time to play and ive been struggling to even reach level 70 even though most of my playing was before the exp patch and since then the little time ive played, leveling has been much easier in the content. i dont have much motivation to keep playing this sorc on the eternal realm and im debating on what i wanna go with when the season starts....any suggestions? im probably gonna give sorc a break although if i did start one again i would def start off with lightning build for lvl process. been mostly considering Druid.
