Cast a LONG DISTANCE and save your finger with this little device.
A breakaway cannon / bionic finger can be attached to your fishing rod. It works like a casting trigger and you can load up your rod better for longer casts. It is particularly great for surfcasting with braided lines.
A great addition to your surf fishing setup. Surfcasting couldn't be easier and you'll cast further than everyone else at the beach.

Wow, lots of negativity about this little device. When I first saw it, I couldn't wait to give it a try.
I think it was a great presentation 😌
@@carlosbrown9022 thanks Carlos :)
chill brother, ppl always like the old school way😅
@drop stix cheers mate, Happy New Year to you too!
But it's not going to double your casting distance. Drop that bit out and say it's to protect your finger and no one will have a reason to attack the product. Everyone should criticise products that don't do as they claim.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 😂
😅😂
Why is this always the mentality of the fishermen? Does learning or trying something new hurt your brain too much?
That's what a finger guard for surf casters is for
Yes, I used a finger guard before. But I find the casting trigger a little more convenient to use.
$40? the guy who sold the original one on eBay only charged $10, now they're like $6 each if you buy 3 on eBay
Yeah, don't buy them in a fishing store. Way cheaper online.
Thanks for your post I was just getting ready to post a comment way overpriced then I saw your comment
don't pay 39 usd buy at most 4 usd for those things
I fish the surf in southern California for hours on end. Ive never cut my fingers on a cast. Seems like extra unnecessary hardware for my rod. I also dont understand how it helps to cast farther or double my cadting distance. Seems more to protect your finger.
Only ever got a sore finger when casting 100s of times with big lures
Heck yeah that's actually a great idea I've cut my finger on line more than once
I take a cheap glove to cash as I use lures and cast a lot over an hr span
Yeah for casting big lures, like stickbaits I use a glove as well. The trigger is only good on a Surfcaster in my opinion
Work out tape works good too
im a far casting style of fishing like 164yards using gamakatsu ultimate spec when i use this trigger its like i lose half of my casting distance and i throw it away
I could deffinetly see the benefeit on a surf rod casting wet braid with heavy weights ive cut my fingures a few times from it but with my light gear or boat rods not so much cool gadget
Very cool 😎.
cheers :)
I'm 27, my hands still thankfully work tho given how i use them maybe in 30-40 years i'll be spending 40$ on one of those. Till then im a budget fisher through and through.
Don't fix what ain't broke.
it ain't fixing it is optimization :)
Lol. Dude mad for the hate cause he started with saying double the casting distance in his professor-y accent with no proof. And what it is is a baby finger saving device.
where can i buy it?
try aliexpress or temu for cheap ones :)
@@Fishingreminder yea, why not
finger stall
A $3 roll of athletic tape works the best. I’ve heard hockey tape works well also.
Good tip. Although the trigger also only costs $3 if you get one from ebay.
Pretty much casting against the marine reserve line on Hahei beach by the look of it.
@@barrackcarle2046 This is actually Tauranga Bay, but you're right, it does look a bit like Hahei :)
Just use a finger stall. there's no need to zip tie crap to your rod....
It's not doubling my distance but no more searching for my finger guard...... I got it on a couple of my poles...💯
I've fished for 50+ years and I've never had a finger cut while casting mono or braid.
You catching more beer than fish?
@@jackpoggioreale6264 caught your whore mum a lot more.
David either us old guys have much tougher skin or they're not making fishermen like they use to
can you use this device for casting a spinningrod for pike and walleye? I am fishing within city borders and due to the fortified bank i have to cast really far and due to a work realated injjury i lack the speed to release on time
You could possibly use it on a light spin rod. But I think there's no real advantage. You still need to release the trigger similar to how you would release your finger. It's mainly intended for surfcasting rods and casting heavier baits with braided lines. Perhaps a bait caster reel would work better for you.
Breaks my line
I love how you claim you’ll double your cast then don’t explain how it’ll do that, you only say how it’ll save your weak uncallused finger.
and I love how you managed to insult my finger, haha
Here in south africa we buy rods with them already attached...how come it's so new to the rest of the world?
Yeah, I think it was actually invented in SA
Been around for ten years in uk
Yeah most of our rods come set with it also.
Its not. the rest of the world doesn't find any use for them. 🤷🏾♂️
@@anglingkings7650 fair enough 👌
Doesn't exactly make you cast further does it, when you can use a leather finger guard, double the casting distance is a load of twaddle
It does make difference in the distance. You should try it. it makes the casting much further
LOL, I like the word 'twaddle'. Yes of course you cannot double your casting distance that easy. That's just a funny intro to make the video interesting. But it will increase your casting distance and I don't like using a leather finger guard. This thing is just so much more convenient.
@@Fishingreminder mate that's what you call CLICKBAITING people, are you actually catching fish? Because your baiting the wrong species 😂
Anyway, all that thing will do is make your rod heavier, and you want a rod as light as possible so you can really give it some oomph without straining against weight, THATS how you cast further, or just use a continental rod and multiplier.
@@walkintomydream7208 you'd cast further with a multi on the heel of the butt.
I don't even know why I bothered replying to you in the first place, LOL You know it better, then make a video about it. Take it easy and have a good life mate.
Or just get stronger fingers
Tôi chuẩn bị để trải nghiệm nó. Không có gì mà không làm được. Tôi thích thú nó. Tuy Tôi đã gần 70 tuổi.
I just use gloves
No words 🤦🏻♂️
I want to buy one eh my casting is crap at the best B of times
haha, yeah it really makes casting easier. I have to get a new one. Just lost mine the other day.
Have you ever cut your wet hands with a Cable Tie ?
This is not a well thought out product.
It works pretty good for us :)
A proper cast shouldn't hurt your finger
Eine coole Frau hast Du
Sure, he does ❤
There are gloves for that
Yes, the beauty of this is that you don't need gloves anymore. It's much more convenient. Give it a try.
@@Fishingreminder well I'm not that much of a surf guy and more of a fresh water guy for eel in a tidal river in Germany (River : Weser) and the current is the problem not even 6 once lead stays flat and the rocks are sharp
@@sorenwitte7637 wonder if you could possibly use one of the breakout surf sinkers in that case. You know, the ones with wires sticking out.
@@Fishingreminder my father has those 30 years or so but you get instantly snagged we use coffin leads I'll send you a link
Harden up I never cut my finger and I cast an easy 70-80 mitres out with 40lb line
They're handy when you're slinging 6oz weights 150 yards
@@marruffo7912 just use a glove
Or you just put some tape on your finger 😜
These things have been out for years in the UK 🤦
JUNK
When make an illegal device abd call it something silly say it’s for….Some actual think so. Imagine the ATF going into homes for oil fuel traps clothes hangers, switches, lightning links, machine gun parts, silencers, explosive illegal weapons or synthesis plant food etc. probably a person has them and tried to use somehow.
Is there some course line out, not in sea or sand, soft hands. I don’t get it? Let go, doing it wrong or weight or dunno
Or u can be a man and just use a baitcaster
LOL, I'll let my wife know - I doubt she wants to be a man though. That wouldn't be much fun for me either, haha
@@Fishingreminder I’m certain you will enjoy that 😉
