A Trigger For Your Fishing Rod - Breakaway Cannon!

    Cast a LONG DISTANCE and save your finger with this little device.
    A breakaway cannon / bionic finger can be attached to your fishing rod. It works like a casting trigger and you can load up your rod better for longer casts. It is particularly great for surfcasting with braided lines.
    A great addition to your surf fishing setup. Surfcasting couldn't be easier and you'll cast further than everyone else at the beach.

      But it's not going to double your casting distance. Drop that bit out and say it's to protect your finger and no one will have a reason to attack the product. Everyone should criticise products that don't do as they claim.

    I fish the surf in southern California for hours on end. Ive never cut my fingers on a cast. Seems like extra unnecessary hardware for my rod. I also dont understand how it helps to cast farther or double my cadting distance. Seems more to protect your finger.

    can you use this device for casting a spinningrod for pike and walleye? I am fishing within city borders and due to the fortified bank i have to cast really far and due to a work realated injjury i lack the speed to release on time

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  Рік тому

      You could possibly use it on a light spin rod. But I think there's no real advantage. You still need to release the trigger similar to how you would release your finger. It's mainly intended for surfcasting rods and casting heavier baits with braided lines. Perhaps a bait caster reel would work better for you.

      LOL, I like the word 'twaddle'. Yes of course you cannot double your casting distance that easy. That's just a funny intro to make the video interesting. But it will increase your casting distance and I don't like using a leather finger guard. This thing is just so much more convenient.

      Anyway, all that thing will do is make your rod heavier, and you want a rod as light as possible so you can really give it some oomph without straining against weight, THATS how you cast further, or just use a continental rod and multiplier.
