Elvis Presley has been my idol since I was in elementary school. I grew up loving the King of Rock and Roll. I am now 68 and still feel the same. I was at Graceland after he died. There were so many people there and they were breaking limbs off trees in Graceland's front yard and writing note on his rock wall around Graceland. I noticed almost all his neighbors had Cadillac's. When I went to breakfast the next day I asked the waitress if Elvis bought all those Cadillacs for his neighbors and she told me YES!! He was a loving generous person. I did see his concert live when I was a teenager. I remember getting up from my seat to try and get closer to the stage. But a security guard made me sit back down in my own seat. The concert was great. What I remember most is hearing "Elvis has left the building". I am reading a book about Elvis's life. And he will forever be a part of my heart. The King lives on.

@@Celticcross688 Actually, if it was really brought on by the tons of pills he took.... He did commit suicide in a way. Even if he didn't know what he was doing to his body at the time. He also had what they call a megacolon and barium clay was found compacted in his bowels from a procedure a few months prior at the autopsy. It's also known that he had chronic constipation. The strain of trying to use the bathroom and whatever the pills had done to his organs combined likely brought on the heart attack.

I'm surprised there were no military honors for Elvis at his funeral/burial. In addition to his service in the Army in the mid to late 1950s, many people close to him through the years have made reference to him being very patriotic. So much so that he designed many of his stage/performance capes to include the beautiful eagle on the back.

Thinking about the Elvis movie..it seems to me that Col. Parker seems to have had such a huge ego I'm surprised his head can fit thru the doorways. Also.. when he gave Elvis that bill for $8M ..
