You see some photos of Elvis and Ann Margret and the way he looks at her is undeniable. These two were soulmates and even the Memphis Mafia said if Ann had given up her career he would have married her in a heartbeat regardless of Pricilla. I think he was convinced he wanted a conventional relationship but what you want and what you need are two different things. Pricilla was not strong enough to stand up to Elvis but Ann was which is why she stood her ground and kept working.

The number one woman Elvis truly loved was his momma. This is undisputed, she was his confidant, and he trusted her completely. TRUST was extremely important to Elvis. Next was Pricilla, he also trusted Cilla and I believe he truly loved her, however, that being said he did cheat on her with Ann Margaret, who I believe he also loved. They were definitely soul mates and he may have married her if he wasn't already committed to Cilla. Lastly I believe he care deeply for Linda, but I would not go as far to say he loved her. She looked after him to her credit. In the end it was Cilla who came forward after his death to salvage Graceland, and the rest is history. I love, love Elvis and to me he will always reign as KING. He had the capacity to love many women, but probably should not have married since he found it difficult to remain faithful. His charm and stunning good looks were like a magnet. But she was the person who bought him a guitar for his birthday when in fact Elvis wanted a bike instead. You are right Donna, Priscilla came in and fired Tom Parker "the colonel" because he was running the Presley fortune into the ground and Graceland just may have not survived. Tom Parker should have been fired years ago he turned Elvis into a drug induced stage robot, and corny movie star Elvis once said he hated those movies he made because he wanted to be a serious actor. What an amazing talent there will never be another Elvis.

1. Ann Margaret ( has never said anything negative about him regardless). Class act. Never betrayed his confidence. Kept him private. Never aired his shortcomings in public after his death and loved him and accepted what he could give her for whatever time he could. Only one who has honored his memory without needing to justify herself by talking or writing about Elvis”weaknesses. Definitely Ann Margret.👍🌹
I believe Ann should of been married to the king, but she knew the reality of their careers would destroy their lives so they gracefully carried their love for each other in their hearts. Priscilla was to young to handle a relationship only because of her age and did not know the reality of being married to a superstar. Elvis was absolutely capable of being in love, but as he himself once said it's very lonely being away from home. Managing two different lives doesn't come without it's difficulties, everyone involved pays the price. I felt bad for Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa to have to live the separate lives they did because of his fame. I cry EVERYTIME I hear Elvis sing You were Always on my mind as I believe that song was meant to those he loved. Some songs he sang with deep feeling ...not only could you see it in his face but you felt it in your soul...well at least I did.
He was a great man and was drawn into and around the wrong publishers and manager that truly took advantage of his talent. He was famous to fast from where he came from and became very lost. God he loved n family. If he had the right guidance in his time things maybe would have been better for him.
I absolutely agree, he loved his mother and was devastated when she died. I have no doubt he loved Priscilla but at her age what did they have in common? The one person who ruined his life was the Colonel. Elvis probably had feelings for many. Just so sad he died when he did.

I also get very emotional every thime I listen to him sing Always On My Mind. He actually gave Priscilla one of the first copies of the song. (I hesitate to say that he gave her the Master recording because I think RCA owned that, but he did give her an early copy as a gift). I can think of nothing more profoundly heartfelt than an apology in song and he not only sang those words to her but he literally gave her the recording as a gift). I've heard her say that in multiple interviews but she always says that it's deeply personal and never goes into great detail. I can't imagine how painful it is to re-live those private moments. You can find a short 4 minute video where she speaks briefly about it if you search for a video titled Priscilla talks about Always On My Mind.
I also get torn up when he sings Separate Ways and It's Midnight. Those plus several other songs he cut in 72 & 73 especially have deep undertones of sadness, regret and remorse in losing his wife.

Continually knocked people out, including his step-brother, and trying to with Tom Jones, refused others' opinions on him (for example when everyone was telling him to quit the presc drugs. He said 'I have a doctor that'll take care of everything'. When he died, Lamar Fike (Elvis' Security Chief) said about Colonel Tom Parker (Elvis' manager): 'I and I looked at him and I said listen I said you know what I said you finally ran him to the ground didn't you. and he got and he got mad at me. I said you know what I'm talking about I said y'all wouldn't' let him up you kept working him you In the seven months leading up to his death, Elvis was prescribed almost 9,000 pills, vials and injections. His supply of drugs included uppers, downers and painkillers so strong they were usually given to patients in the end stages of cancer. His ego got in the way of moments whereby he'd change multiple times during a show, wouldn't take no for an answer, and responded with his anger issues. He also due to embarrassment postponed his doctors appointments which ultimately was part of the reason his life was cut short. He didn't start with an ego, but he certainly ended with one which his friends, cousins, employees etc attested to- the closest people to him, the Memphis Mafia. He was a wonderful man, albeit troubled, and it's sad that it ended this way. He did however, live life exactly how he wanted. Which to some would say a blessing

Austin just did a great job at acting the part and channeling Elvis Charisma and energy on stage... He was quite good, probably the best to ever portray him so realistically, but much of Elvis's joy and humanitarian qualities was left out... Parker was helpful in beginning but then did everything to own and control Elvis and keep him in a type cast box when Elvis needed to spread his wings and continue to fly and dream... Parker should have been fired before 68 special... But Elvis felt indebted to him and faithful... He tried several times to cut the ties and even tried to fire more than once... He seldom spoke to him before he died.

I think his relationship with his mother and her drinking and him feeling he could never do enough to please her was always looming over him. He loved her the most but an unhealthy love that influenced all his relationships. I don’t think he really loved any of them except his daughter. Priscilla was someone he dominated to become and be like his Mom, he molded her but moved on after she gave birth. He could not help himself damaged by his mother in all his relationships.
His talent was amazing, an icon, his music was a gift he left behind.
I certainly do not feel his Mother damaged his relationships. She taught him to love all people no matter how much or little he had. Only God knows his true feelings. Ann Margaret and Linda Thompson really loved Elvis according to his inner circle. They said that Elvis really had a hard time when he had to say goodbye to Ann Margaret because of the promise that he made to Precilla's dad, that when Cilla was old enough he would marry her. Joe Esposito, and a couple of the other Memphis Mofia guys said that Linda Thompson took such good care of Elvis and that Linda wouldn't go to sleep until Elvis did. Said when Elvis was in the hospital that she had a bed beside of him and stayed 24/7 with Elvis. They also said that they believed that if Linda would have been with Elvis on August the 16th, of 77 that she would have checked on Elvis upon him not returning from the bathroom and would have probably saved Elvis. Guess that's something we will never know. According to them the Natalie Wood relationship was only a few times.

I lost both of my daughters who were only 21 and 23 so I know how Lisa Marie was grieving over Benjamin, and now Precilla is going through the grief of losing a child. It's a Mother's worst nightmare. Prayers for Precilla, Finley, Harper, Riley, Danny and all of Lisa Marie's family at this difficult time.

Priscilla loves the life she has lived becaue of Elvis. She is worth 50 mlllion dollars and that is more than even Lisa Marie is. Everything she has done has been for the sake of her family's future. It is funny, but the virgin thing never came up until after Elvis died. All we have is everyone elses stories. I think also that Ann Margret and his relationship was lust instead of love. I think they loved each other but not the married kind of love. They would not have lasted because they both were too competitive and she would have never given up her career and he wanted someone who would stay home and bear his children. BTW Priscilla has an affair 2 months after Lisa was born.

Too much going on, you have to be there to truly understand all. Pescription drugs used to help the stress of so many things to deal with starting with fame.
