Jenny: this is the greatest thing I've ever seen and the asking price is very reasonable...and for that reason I'm out.

Jenny: "I'm out"
Hahahahah! This is too much for me!!
Tej should have gone down to 20% and he would win
Typical example of greed. He thought he had it so badly.
Tej deserves what he got. And a smug peter jones loved it at the end
Sam would of still picked the 2 dragons over 1, Deborah & Peter are massively successful business personal. He'd be stupid to of taken Tej's offer even if he dropped to 15%.. That and I think Sam realized that Tej was extremely greedy.
I think the guy took the offer of the Dragons mainly due to the lower equity they offered him. Tej is the health industry and he has access to many medical colleges and doctors around the world. Taking him nto the business will bring significant growth in terms of expansions of the business. Tej has many businesses in the USA and many other places that operate in the health industry. The fact t is that he is greedy and wants to take a big piece of the business. Nonetheless, the guy was right in his choice. Because at the end of the day, equity matters.
25% was a piss take, should've joined the Dragons in the 10% deal for half and joined forces, greed got the better of him. It's a game just like poker.
Tej played that so poorly. He was unbelievably arrogant throughout the entire negotiation and thought there was no way he'd choose any other investor than him because of his background. If I were an entrepreneur in that situation I'd have been really put off by his attitude.
Peter's "Tej, I appreciate you trying, that was great" at the end was absolutely deserved IMO. Peter and Deborah played it perfectly and showed they were willing to negotiate.
Jenny was also in the room.
Peter can be arrogant too but he wasn't here because he doesn't have the connectios Tej has so was negotiable to get the deal. Did you see that episode from years ago when Peter made an offer to a guy and didn't allow him to think about it and was timing him by saying his offer is only valid for a few minutes. And the other dragons didn't even declare themselves out yet
kinggimped Tej is brilliant. Really likeable. He’s a master class in negotiation. Sometimes you win... sometimes you lose.
i actually liked tej going aggressive here (i like tej most of the time): tej was by far the best dragon for him and offered more money for a bigger stake. probably dropping to 20% once repaid would have secured him the deal, but you know he risked and lost, period. still unsure if the guy made the best choice going to peter and deborah.
'Jenny was also in the room.' hahaha brilliant
@@smallie210 Peter owns a company that has the biggest distribution of bringing drones to the country. There was a guy coming with drone-related business. Jenny offered money for 25, Tej for 35, Peter went for 50. Then went for 45 so the other guy would have control. The person who brought the business said he'll shake hands at 40 and Peter agreed right away. I believe if Tej wanted 25% he should have started with 40%.
Surely they can just replace Jenny with a sign that says "I'm Out".
I’m waiting for an entrepreneur to start his pitch with ‘Jenny, you’re out.’
🤣🤣🤣
All they need is a empty chair. That's enough.
Jenny has now been replaced by Sara Davies
They tried, but when they pitched the idea to Jenny, she just said "Its a great idea, and for that reason, I'm out."
Tej's face every time Peter says he's gonna make an offer after he's already made one is priceless because he knows he's lost lmao
He should have choosen him he had the market in health sector
Should have asked Tej, 25% coming down to 20 when his investment is repaid.
Can’t believe this guy used to work at my school, now look at him, good luck Mr Piri 👍🏻

would you recommend that pre medical students attend as a means of experience?
@@FS-rj4xo depends what you mean by pre medical. It wont be much use to you until you learn clinical and anatomy skills. They also have an age limit.
@@surya-zy1vl what is the name?
@@FS-rj4xo this kind of thing has limited value for a pre-med in the application stage. Since the point is to teach anatomy, and this is something you'll do once you're actually in, you're not going to get any educational value. You could argue, in interviews, that this experience gave you a taste for surgery/reignited that spark. But a lot of things can do that, even a TV show like 24 hours in A&E. So if it's gonna be easy for you to get on a course like this, sure go for it. But if it's gonna be a hassle or expensive it really is not worth it
I know why Peter is so successful. I rarely have seen a business man who's had real success in life and still demonstrates that level of curiosity and openness.

I feel Tej may mysteriously start his own incredibly similar business in America out of spite 😂
He will
It's not exactly something that can be protected. There are similar events that overheard of but I'm not sure if they're by the same company or not
It isnt and cant be protected.
You cant actually hold patents for hosting events and providing services.
If that were possible, then phone companies would do it, to stiffle any rising competition.
You can only have patents on actual physical products that you could one day sell, and for intellectual property (copyright protection) for media such as music, movies etc.
This is why Tej told him that he needs to move quickly and get this going in America and so on.
Because if he's the first to the "party" its his only chance to actually make good money from this, before others jump in and compete with him.
Honestly, Tej was the best choice. That sort of influence and money would have skyrocketed his business. Tej could have dropped his iffer down to 20%, but still.
Exactly my thoughts 👍
My thoughts too, his connections suited the business best in my opinion, I can see that kinda thing more for medical learning purposes over parties especially because a lot of people can’t stomach that crap yet people in the medical field can.
But he offered 120k rather than 90k so It was THE BEST offer available.
This guy came to my college and it was a really good experience
Trying to screw him out of 25% was just greedy. He shouldn't have relied on his connections to overplay his position.
He was paying more
Exactly
+rohan basu
It's only 30k more, and his network probably isn't that valuable He probably knows doctors to push his vitamins/supplements on clients, not schools, etc. Also I think this is just entertainment, and has no real education value so doctor/nurses wouldn't be interested.
@Terror Peter just did it to test the water he lowered it
He was paying more and I personally think connections are more important than 2 dragons and extra 5%. He is an idiot.

I’ve recently attended one of his events after it was offered to help with my A Level Biology studies. Absolutely incredible!! An amazing opportunity and I really took a lot away from the experience. I’ve learnt so much and it’s really helped me to understand more about the human anatomy. Awesome guy too :)
Eleanor Smith what is exactly did you learn ? No nerves and veins connection, nothing like a real human being so what is it just for entertainment, I do not get it
OL LW I’m curious as well
@@olivierlavau-wira6991 This is exactly my problem with the pitch. I went to med school (didn't finish though) and it's not exactly educational to study pig organs if you're a medical professional. For entertainment purposes and to get a general overview, it's fine.
@@olivierlavau-wira6991 If you listen carefully he explains it. Small tip: it's for people who do not have real atanomy in their studies but do work in the branch
OL LW those were my thoughts as well. It’s just a bunch of organs and entrails placed into a fake body, you’re not going to learn anything of value. No connective tissue, cardiovascular system, nervous system, adipose tissue, etc...this is aimed at an audience that enjoys gore and are clueless to actually physiology and anatomy.
I assumed that him asking for 25% was a haggling technique, didn't realise he genuinely thought a pimped up linkedin page would be worth a quarter of the guy's business.

THIS IS THE BEST COMMENT
They really went after each other's heads on this one, LOVED IT!!
Jenny: you have an extremely investable business and for that reason, I’m out
Yeah I reckon if he had gone with Tej his company would have been screwed. Tej kept saying doctors this, doctors that but in all honesty doctors won't appreciate this. As a previous anatomy student and now a medical student, doing dissection on real cadavers is frankly impossible to imitate. The only thing that out does cadavers is autopsy or open surgery. You can't get any appreciation for how everything is actually connected, nor nerves or vessels. I remember the thing that shocked me most when first dissecting is simply how absolutely everything is connected with facia. You wouldn't be able to appreciate that with this model.
An autopsy is performed on a cadaver though so dissecting a cadaver is the same as a post mortem
@@jimjamthebananaman1 Dissection in medical schools usually relies on preserved cadavers - most likely with formalin, which destroys a lot of the tissue/ changes their characteristics. Autopsy is on a more fresh cadavers, so it's as close to a living body as possible. So there are massive differences.
J W you don’t know what you’re speaking.
Oh shut up why wouldn't a doctor appreciate this they would just be upset cause they never thought about it first
16TimB it’s obviously not going to take the place of real bodies for medical students or surgical residents - but it’s a damn sight better than anything else out there for general nursing students or even high school students/interested lay people.
0:42 when Jenny smells a free sample
Jenny : ‘’meep ...meep, and for that reason, I’m out ‘’
Tej always gets shafted by the other dragons 😂
Tej shafted himself here. He got it wrong with his play and with his offer.
"I can introduce you to half the doctors in the world." So what? Doctors are not going to be buying this, nor recommending this.
The markets here are education (so it's schools, colleges, universities) and entertainment (themed dinners and events, parties, etc.).
Jenny: This business is very investable, therefore I'm not going to invest and I'm out.
"Hello my na-"
Jenny: "I'm out"
Tej: I'll give you all the money for 100% of your company
Entrepreneur: could you perhaps redu...
Tej: *No* .
I would've lower the offer.
90k for 18%. Atleast. Tej asked for too much
😆😆😆😆😆😆
Tej offered him 120k, so basically 30% more money. Also I was honestly thinking that Tej was the best dragon for him with what he can offer.
@goran stojanovic What actually irritated me is that he said he had already done the event thing, so clearly he had mastered it. If he went with Tej yes he would give more of the company, but could go global and have access to a LOT of different universities, hospitals etc. Even if Tej doesn't get him everywhere I am sure he has the contacts, so it would spread and his idea could be in a ton of american unis making him millions and on the side he can still do the events as a secondary source of income. Have Tej put his idea in the hospitals etc and do your events on the side. Yes you give out more but you make WAY more in the end. If you go with an idea in a specific field you need to get the dragon that would help you out the most. I think he missed out on a TON of money.
I'll give you 50% of the money for 50% of the company (and I'll split that with another Dragon.)

I love how when Jenny says I’m out, they make it intense and shocking like she doesnt say it often.
Peter: "But Tej I appreciate you trying"... Savage
As a doctor, this is pretty useless. It's literally taking a humanoid shell and tossing in pig entrails in roughly the same locations. There are no vascular or nervous connections, no proper abdominal or thoracic spaces and the cranial cavity will essentially be a bowl with a brain thrown in. Using a pig or human cadaver retains all of these structures and is much more useful. I feel the only educational benefit would be for people with little to no anatomical knowledge. (Also, removing the heart is not something a surgeon does during a "routine procedure".)
DreamEclipse
Thanks Doctor for explaining.
I disagree, having attended one of these events in the UK, I think take a chance and go to it. We have a huge shortage of human cadavers for dissection in medical schools in the UK. Of course it is not realistic, but it is an atmospherically accurate and informative pathology lecture presented by an experienced forensic pathologist. It can be pitched up or down depending on the audience. I made notes, took some photos, learned a few new things and had a laugh... it wasn't a cadaver, but it wasn't SimMan or a twenty year old refrozen limb with somebody else's sutures in it! Great idea and well worth £39! Go, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Rebecca Smith I trained in the UK. I’ve never been and I'm sure the lecture aspect is great, but I personally feel the "cavader" itself (the selling point) is probably useful for people with little anatomical knowledge (i.e. can’t visualise what the relations of a pancreas or duodenum are). I'll try to go to one, but due to the reasons I mentioned above it seems like it has little clinical translation, unfortunately. The lecture aspect of it is a different matter and could also be done through other means like video, software etc. Most live surgical sims are done on real pigs with intact vasculatures and nervous systems for this reason as the tissue planes etc remain. I agree that for AHPs, early med students or nurses it’s great because intact pigs or human cadavers are impractical in these situations. Again, I'm not knocking the attempt, I just think the application (of harvesting pig organs and putting them into a shell) is very limited. Also, the "dinner and dissection" concept just sounds a bit ridiculous.
Who cares? It's netting him serious money at the end of the day.
DreamEclipse Of course, I took it as it was, just a bit of fun, probably better for youngsters. 🤓 There were a few teenagers on our day and seeing their reactions, I wish I’d thought of this idea because it’s a money spinner! The dinner idea is slightly crazy, agreed. However, if said dinner was FREE... there are no guarantees I wouldn’t elbow my own grandmother out of the way!
13:28 i swear the background song here is the theme tune for casualty on TV
It was! The old version of the casualty theme was used. Very fitting. 😂😂
That face Tej made after getting rejected was hilarious!
I've never seen Tej this excited about a deal lol. But he is never willing to negotiate and that's why he often loses deals because the other dragons show more flexibility. If Tej agreed to come down to 20%, the guy would have said yes in a heartbeat.
*"Everything: from brain to anus"*
There's your tag line mate 👍
😆
Lmao they played the casualty theme tune at the end
Holy s**t this Is actually one of the toughest decisions I've seen In a while! Good stuff.
"Dinner and Dissection"! Sounds like a great evening out or an episode of Dexter.
The Peter & Deborah show goes on. This was obviously Tej's area and his ability to instantly connect him with his target market made him worth that extra five percent. I'm really surprised he didn't go with Tej on this.
I love Peter. Tej's face at the end after his little dig.
I like Tej's "ooff" at the end.. hahaha
I defiantly think Taj Lavani was the best choice, maybe he could have regonotied a higher investment or maybe 20% that drops to 15% when the debt is repaid?
i think you are right that would work, but it's tricky, if he singles out a negotiation with one dragon (Taj) the others tend to drop out offended
Zammod 1 taj's connections were what mattered the money isn't that important
You still want to get a good percentage though, 25% is a ridiculous amount, even for his great amount of medical connections.
But he should have tried very hard to negotiate something more fair as he would make a lot more money with Taj.
That's just my 2 cents.
djkaye youtube Can you provide evidence for this to me?
If the pitch is bad - jenny : im out
If the pitch is good - jenny : i feel like theres a better dragon to invest so im out

The value Tej could bring next to the others in this sector was infinitely more, and he knew that so stuck at 25% not wanting to sell his services and contacts cheap, the entrepreneur just didn't understand where the value was in this case. The 75% he still would've had would've been worth a a lot more than the 80-85% he retained with Peter and Deborah.
Nope, Tej glorifies himself with pretending to have important contacts in the industry while no one knows him, he's just a rich nobody in the medical field.
