It's not a slot machine, it's a SURPRIIIIISE MECHANIC.
@albert fish Yeah and you can bet their "skill based question" takes actual skill. Have you never seen a prize competition on TV or in papers where you have to answer a question that's something like whats 2+2? This is exactly like that
They are part of our suprise mechanics good sir
@JJ Hunt plus you know what are the number balls in there so you know the probability
Jenny's offer was a definite bluff, just so the BBC don't kick her off the show. She was sweating when the 2 lads went to the back of the room to discuss, thinking she'd actually have to invest

Exploiting people with gambling problems?
Jenny: I'm in.
I've placed a few bets on their site over the months. One comment that made me boycott them, was a guy on the facebook page basically saying "I've got a real bad gambling problem, I cant stop buying tickets and I need help". They responded to him simply with "Good luck with that. Make sure you buy more tickets tho as the higher the amount of tickets you buy, the better the odds of winning".
Such a predatory form of gambling. They dont care.
She wasnt really in. She just needed to meet the quota of at least 1 offer per season.
She also was tired of the accurate youtube comments, calling her out and making fun of her.

she always make an offer when she smells easy money XD
Well she always pulls out before the deal goes thru so there's no point in accepting her offers
Funny thing is, in her two series, she made more investments than peter in the first 4
Do your research…Jenny actually carries through on her investments unlike the other dragons and has actually had more success with her investments..despite her rarely making offers…she’s just frugal and won’t throw her money about as much as the others..

The fact this guy used business a levels of how he got into it is hilarious
He was pointing out that he went into development right after the a-levels, which is unusual.

I found business studies A level harder than undergrad math... there's a reason why 2/3 businesses fail in their first year. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
@@vivavaldez87 A level doesn't go into much depth at all though. You're in the minority if you find undergrad math easier than a level business studies. A majority of the people would find business a level easier than even a level math let alone undergrad (from what I've seen anyway, this is mostly just from the stats of the AQA and OCR boards. I'm not sure how Edexcel specs fare)
@Rich 91 yeah, I know it's easier overall (well, the first two years, I'm not sure about the other two yet) but I'm just comparing undergraduate maths Vs a level business studies. Most people I have met have found undergrad maths harder.

The entire "Skill Gambling" is an absolute joke.
I worked on a Carnival in Australia where Australian law prohibited gambling, so on a stall where people paid money & spun a wheel to win a prize - they first had to "throw" a ball into a bucket before they could spin the wheel - The bucket was quite literally beside the person, so the "throw" was dropping the 2" ball into a 2 foot bucket.
Because there was "skill" in "throwing" the ball, it wasn't classed as gambling :D lol
P.S. - No one EVER missed the bucket!!!
they actually don't use any skill based anything anymore, i've been using elite competitions since long before they went on the show, and they used to use questions based on each product, since the show they've taken that away completely so you just select what numbers you want and pay. they also have on the site that each person can buy 10 tickets MAX, but this is also a lie and you can actually buy as many as you like. obviously a carnival game is alot more based on skill than these competition sites and if it isn't rigged then you have a higher chance of winning,

This clearly is a gambling business...
Yes it is but nothing wrong with it if you are straight forward about it.
Yes, it is worth pointing out how much of what is going on in this show is gambling.
Also, people can ruthlessly attain a reputation of being a benefactor, so appearances are often deceiving. Just look at what a bullshit reputation the word "philanthropist" has gotten because of this. - That people thank those who provide their networking services in exchange for a part of their business leaves a bad aftertaste. Thanking them for their selfish motivations? That's very socially erosive through confusing people's ethical values and world view.

”If they feel they have a problem they can ask us to ban them”
The very definition of a gambling problem is not taking action to stop it yourself
I’ve actually known about a dozen gamblers who are what is known as “self barred.” The casinos don’t generally let them back in, even if they ask to have it undone, due to liability concerns. But the vast majority who have a problem won’t ask to be banned.
There is a genuine common practice in the industry for problem gamblers to have themselves added to a ban list to prevent them from entering or gambling at casinos and similar and the casinos take it extremely seriously; I once had to wait to claim a $10 prize from a charity bingo competition held at a casino because the staff had to verify that my name wasn’t on their list. It obviously doesn’t help you recognize the problem, but if you’re someone with poor self control but who recognizes the problem it can help prevent you from making impulsive decisions to give into the addiction.
Nonetheless, it’s not exactly a great answer in the Den considering they sound like they never considered it as a problem. They could have at least mentioned that it’s a common gambling industry practice rather than sounding like they’re just spitballing.
I have a friend who is self-barred. I'm pretty sure it's common. He actually went into crypto, buy a bunch of crypto and then played gambling games with crypto ; seems like they don't verify if you are self-barred... And he lost everything...

“My names Jenny Campbell and for that reasons I’m.....” woah JENNY CAMPBELL ACTUALLY MADE AN OFFER😱

I think it was probably because Taj and him both said 25%, whereas Jenny was only 20%. So if he went with Jenny, he'd have to go to 10% each instead
From an investor point of view it's a great deal. They already have £100000 in the bank. By asking for 20% they take £20000 along with 20% of the investment they put in. Another £10000.

6:52 Deborah: I'm the perfect dragon for you but I'm not going to make you an offer. Look at what you could have won.
Mysterious that the man who made millions from supplements was the one with the least conscience 😂
Supplements aren't immoral in any way. Multivitamin, protein, fat loss etc supplements have their uses. Of course actual diet comes first. But I fail to see how supplements can be viewed as immoral. People buy them because they want to get the most out of their body and make themselves look better.
Gambling is completely different. People gamble their money away because they are desperate to win big, when the odds are in fact microscopically tiny. Gambling is a mugs game. Supplements clearly aren't a mugs game. Unless of course you spend £300 a month of supplements, but have a crappy diet. In which case you are mugging yourself off.
Most of the supplements/vitamin's are nothing more than placebo bs!!
@@arifanwari3168 Protein is protein. It's just condensed into a powder form in protein supplements. And multivitamin's & BCAA's are just made into pill forms. It makes it easier to consume the amount you need. If you do your research and buy the right supps, there is nothing wrong with them. The right supplements are useful and give you the edge if your diet is good to begin with. Of course there are some dodgy ones on the market too, which is the case with most things in life. The fact that someone is comparing gambling to supplements in the first place is ludicrous.
Telepathic Entity Unless you are clinically lacking in a specific nutrient, there is no reason to take supplements. They have no proven medical benefit and are essentially a con.
@@LouisKing995 Actually, supplements are useful when you're lacking in nutrients, "clinically" (whatever that means) or otherwise. If you lift for mass gain and you eat a normal diet, you're lacking in protein. Fact. If you live in an arctic latitude, you're most likely lacking in vitamin D. Fact. If you can't afford certain vegetable oils, nuts or salmon or other fish regularly, you're probably lacking in Omega-6 PUFAs. Fact. What exactly is wrong with selling these? Is it efficient to take vitamin C pills? Of course not, there are plenty cheap fruit that will give you more vitamin C and tons of other healthy chemicals on top for cheaper and buying pills instead is just stupid. But so is buying a MacBook. There's nothing amoral about selling supplements. You're free to educate yourself on what you might need before making any purchase.
