Got this monitor 5 days ago and absolutely love it. The colors are so good to look at, the higher resolution is life changing I've never seen games look that good before, the low response rate is like real time, and although switching from 240hz to 360hz I didn't really notice a difference it was still buttery smooth. Something worth noting, which I haven't seen discussed about the monitor and should really be mentioned, is that at least with mine, my color configurations reset after turning off and on or even changing inputs. This can be somewhat annoying. However, after messaging GIGABYTE, they informed me that they are aware of this issue and are currently working on an update to fix it. There is no ETA yet, but the update should be coming in the next few weeks.
@@just_harry1638 Yes I still use this monitor and still like it a lot. Unfortunately the issue has not been resolved and there has not been an update that fixes it yet. I did message gigabyte again and I was informed that they are aiming for a beta at the end of this month. I wish the update would come out sooner but I was told the team is working on other lines of monitors as well.
Just got this, and Its driving me nuts having 2-3 second black screens EVERY TIME I alt tab. Im running 360Hz 1440p 8 bit color over HDMI 2.1 with an RTX 4090, no VRR. At this setting it should not NEED DSC, but it is on anyway and causing the alt-tab black screens. Every monitor that uses DSC when paired with nvidia card (AFAIK) does this. Its fucking maddening. Any fixes you know of?
@@blagojmilosevski9547 8 bit color has less bitrate demand than 10 bit. 10 bit would be much more likely to require DSC, which is what causes the black screen alt-tab issue. Also I don't do color-sensitive work so 10 bit is also just a waste since color banding is not an issue in-game.
@@TechHunterOfficial Tried both, but HDMI spec on a 4090 supposedly provides higher bandwidth. Nvidia's DSC drivers suck and whenever DSC is on, it causes black screens whenever you alt tab or switch your mouse over to a 2nd monitor.
I had this monitor and send it back I love it to the point where I wanted to keep it but it was bright enough and i was wondering if it was because I use mine for console
This monitor is currently £759 in the UK. £20 less than the AW2725DF and £10 more than the MSI MPG 271QRX. That makes it much better value than the AW2725DF to you. Do you also prefer it to the similarly priced MSI MPG 271QRX? I'm looking for the best 27" OLED for PS5 atm. Not interested in 32" monitors or TVs. Thanks
It’s now £600 in Curry’s Black Friday. I also want it for PS5 and to use for second display for MacBook when working from home. At this price I have to pull the trigger.
@ the FO27Q2 (a slightly lower refresh rate version of the Q3) was £499 on Amazon UK last week. I bought the ASUS XG27AQDMG instead for the same price. The Q2 and Q3 have more features though and you may prefer QD-OLED
But what are the differences between these two? I have found that this has speakers while the MSI doesn't, but the MSI has 90w charging while this has 18w. Are there any other differences between these two monitors? Does one have more features than the other?
Just got it myself, I found running it in SRGB mode and fiddling with the color settings in nvidia control center/windows color calibration worked good.
This has a nicer glossy finish, so you can get the full benefit of oled contrast and colors, but if your room has a lot of light in it, you might want to consider the matte finish
@@N3KO_79I was looking at the g6. Do you enjoy the monitor? I currently have an Alienware 280hz 1440p. Never used an OLED monitor but heard it's beautiful. Also what's the pixel shift do when you can't turn it off exactly
rather weird choice of ports. if you exclude the type C, you can't really have a generic 3 monitor setup because most GPUs have 3x DP and 1x HDMI, while the monitor has only one DP and 2 HDMI.
Well in a a multi monitor setup, each monitor will generally only have 1 cable going to each. So each monitor could have a displayport cable plugged into the gpu
I have this monitor for 4days now, and the only things i dont like are that the monitor stand is gigantic, only 240hz in the 24inch mode and i cant get a custom resolution like 1920/1440 because the monitor does not support it, also on almost all the resolutions not included 1080p and 1440p the monitor only goes up to 60hz.
The G6 does look cooler, but the display is semi-matte which is a bit different (I've not seen it in person to judge) but the G6 is a lot cheaper in the UK so could be worth it for that alone

For my Fo27q3 I can use 24 Inch with 360hz 1080p.

how is this compared to the aw2725df from alienware?

Wasn’t bright enough
PG27AQN owns OLEDS for FPS games. For me at least. I went through the same boat tinkering with OLEDS to get it bright enough.
Why didn’t you set the APL to High in SDR and HDR?
Great review, thanks!
