I like how he went from his trademark "ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah" in Down With The Sickness to the "ah-ah-ah-ooh" here. Not afraid to try new things 😂😂👌

the vengeful one, the light, inside the fire, 10,000 fists, perfect insanity, land of confusion, another way to die, open your eyes, are you ready, hey you, bad man, don't tell me, the night, voices, the animal, the game, fear, asylum, numb, prayer, liberate

I know this music video inside and out from playing Guitar Hero Live 😂 Good times, thanks for reacting to it first. I think this might be my favorite Disturbed song. It's heavy but catchy at the same time. Also I've read somewhere that this is one of their first songs to feature a guitar solo, which is kinda surprising for a metal band that had been around for so long before this

I respectfully disagree with the statement about 80s metal being mostly drum based. If you listen to bands like Dokken and Ratt it’s hard is the focal point

Just looked, yes CS (the other one) does seem to like Disturbed. She has a few vids and a personal interview.
    Give him a ring...!
FYI - I follow him on social and he is super cool and personable at his concerts, bring fans on stage that have struggles and such.
Looking forward to more from them.

Sunday... is... Baggage Day! That was an excellent imitation! Darius Rucker and David Draiman mumble collab when? If we ask the Charismatic Voice it'll take all year as we go over the same section 20 times. All metal is distorted guitar focused. That's the metal part. C, your face when you thought Sushi's feeder noise might've ruined this reaction take and you're at the very end... I felt for you. Hail to the DuckQueen!

Well, I have read a lot of comments, but nowhere I have have actually read, what David himself said about the song! This song is about deep depression, suicide attempt and survival, get back to the life...

The Male voice can be just as expressive as the female voice... However, few female singers can 'deepen' their voices to emulate male baritone vocalists. Female singers have proven that they can scream w/ power and deliver gutteral vocals like the guys.
I've only heard 1 female singer - Tanita Tikaram, who can sing w/ a 'deep' delivery in a low voice (I was shocked when I heard the song 'Twist in my sobriety'... She sounded like a female Isaac Hayes)
The Beach Boys started the male falsetto vocals when they harmonized on their songs, singing in a higher pitch. It started a trend. Do wop and R&B groups in the 60's would always have a guy singing in a high falsetto alongside their bandmates.
The funny thing is that when Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin started singing in a 'high' voice in the late 60's, people initially hated it because he sounded a bit feminine and people assumed that he was gay... Plant had long hair and would emulate sexual vocalizations onstage... Guitarist Jimmy Page loved his voice and stage presence when he saw Robert Plant perform in 1968 and wondered why he wasn't famous already (He assumed that he was probably a prima donna) but he found Plant was charming and he told Page that most people in Birmingham thought he was "out there"... Even when Plant was singing in Led Zeppelin in 1969, their manager was not sure he was the right singer for the band because his performances were so explicit for that time (Jim Morrison of The Doors saw him being banned in US states because of his sexual performances and was deemed 'obscene')
But when Led Zeppelin became the biggest band in the 70's, u got singers like Ian Gillan of Deep Purple... Rob Halford of Judas Priest ... Sammy Hagar of Montrose... who went for those high notes and sounded like Janis Joplin.
Eventually, we got so many bands and artists that sounded like women when they sang in a falsetto ... including The Bee Gees... Jon Anderson of Yes... Earth Wind & Fire ... Michael Jackson... Prince... and that style would bring in the women the same way Frank Sinatra and Tom Jones could!
The 80's brought the glam fashion style where bands and artists would dress in feminine outfits, makeup, big hair and high heel shoes... Motley Crue, Ratt, Poison, Faster Pussycat... were just a few of the bands that captivated a female audience that way. Their vocals also sounded like they were trying to emulate singers like Robert Plant or David Lee Roth of Van Halen.
Sadly, the 90's grunge rock scene killed that 80's trend... Bands from that era wanted to emulate a male-oriented voice like Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, etc.
Few men wanted to sound like the Bee Gees in that era... until we got bands like The Darkness... Dragonforce... Greta Von Fleet... where the singers were going for the high range vocals again.

    • @CharisSellick
      @CharisSellick  Місяць тому

Technically head voice and falsetto are the same thing but falsetto is distinctly just for men. Something to do with the anatomy of how testosterone thickens your vocal cords blah blah science.
