- The car has stock headers and cats, with resonator delete and a very small muffler to get rid of some drone and excessive noise. is nice when cruising around town and any drone is easily over come by just having the radio on low.
I used a local classified ad to get the muffler which was new and came with the box. link to the style of muffler from manufacturer website:

Used a very reputable shop for the piping, bending welding etc. from cats back it is all stainless. I also spray painted the exhaust with high temp paint for addition corrosion resistance
Total price for this mod was around $400
That jump over the crest and following turn to the left, man, that would have brought my breakfast to the leather if it was raining or snowing lol)
This sounds amazing. You can barely tell the difference between it & a M5 of this chassis. Great job.
The more I explore the 540 m sport the more I realize there isnt much different besides the hp, red line, and price. 😂 Lol. I probably waist as much gas too loving the noise!
Yea I think that’s what I want unless I get lucky & get my hands on a e39 or E60 M5. But you’re right, there isn’t much difference at all. Sweet video

I fell in love with the E39 540i a few months back I’ll be purchasing one very soon and manual swap it, as I just can’t get a manual already in my country, I have the box now, time to get the car lol, yours will be perfect soon with some time and effort, just take good care of it !
@@SL9SH very cool it is a fun car, just a little tip that I didnt know when I bought the car if it has dsp it's more difficult to get an aftermarket radio to work, and they r more prone to sound system issues stock. I'll have a video out on that in a month or so just havent had time to edit it. Overall tho I am happy for a car with 280k kms
How did you drift a little on that hard takeoff? I thought these had open diffs. Only E39 M5s had limited slip. Am I misinformed?
Diff was changed to a 3.15 BMW diff instead of the 3.05 in them, so it has the stock m5 ratio.

@@GregoryEsman in a nutshell, there's clutchpacks in the lsd carrier that lock up both wheels when it detects one wheel with less traction than the other.
Guys my dad have an 520i and I found a used engine of an 540i can it be in the 520i thanks (ofc same génération)

Have you tried a clutch delay valve delete kit. Makes the clutch engagement very instant
OwenLutz123 definitely going to put that in but I’m speaking more about the throttle response, like the throttle body lags, is that a software thing since it’s drive by wire?
@@evxlnce1582 I know there r things like sprint boosters (many different Manufactures available) that have selectable throttle response rate but as far as I'm aware it's for the autos. May be worth a bit of research.

Yes, I still have both cats, 1st and secondary.

Everyone has their preferences. This has that nice exotic v8 sound. The straight pipe sounds trashy.
It isnt obnoxious like a straightpipe
