M5 e39 is better
It's probably a better choice than an M5, You get the sound and a cheaper and far more reliable car. The performance can always be worked on.
Joe Swanson Sadly the only real performance mods for the 540i is forced induction, porting, and stronger pistons.
Aftermarket for M62 is mainly cosmetic. Everyone focuses in the S62 in the M5 and the parts aren’t interchangeable. If you do put S62 parts in M62 you get issues from valve to piston clearance. Unless do major mods to headers, but at that point you might as well buy M5

For now just a daily goin to clean it up as much as possible. The main focus right now is my G35. Supposed to be like 700whp this summer

You must be drunk 🤣. A stock G35 sounding better than a V8 BMW, your ears need checking. My Aunt had a stock G35, trust me, a Single Cam Civic sounds better.
