IMPALED BY THE GUARD RAIL!!! AND IT' IS LEAKING HAZMAT!!!

  • Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we call in for most of the crew to work a major crash with a semi truck and loaded trailer close to rolling down an embankment after hitting the guardrail of a bridge HARD!!! It's actively leaking diesel and other fluids. Let me make this clear, even though this is a JB Hunt trailer, this was NOT a JB Hunt truck or driver. This "private carrier" grabbed the wrong trailer and then wrecked the entire rig!!!! The driver wasn't supposed to be pulling this trailer. I rush to the scene with our Emergency Response Unit. Ethan brings his new Western Star with Miller Industries Century 9055XL. TALON bring our flagship Rotator, the Peterbilt 389X with a Century 1150R. With the location, the leaks, the lean, and the impalement of the guardrail, this makes for one challenging job, but as most of you know, I enjoy a challenge!! It's quite the interesting recovery and, hopefully, an enjoyable video for all. Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God's blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!

You can hear the concern in your voice with that secondary crash, and can appreciate you stopping ALL operations temporarily until you figured out all your own crew and supporting emergency units were safe and accounted for before continuing. Everyone’s safety on scene and making sure they’re accounted for is defintley of utmost importance with so many people and units on a scene like that with so many things going on at once. Nice work!

Ron... you have had interesting jobs, technical jobs, fishing jobs, muddy jobs, entertaining jobs, dangerous jobs, educational jobs, and a host of other ways to get us to see what your equipment can do. This one beat them all! I think I forgot to breathe for a while. Right around 16:40 I had visions of the entire mess rolling and taking at least Tator with it. You and the entire team impressed the heck out of me on this one! Good show, stay safe!

Great Job Brother Ron and crew! Thank you for sharing the Brothers comment! It’s amazing where we find each other! I have found several Brothers while towing! This one was not having a good day his wife just had a car accident. She was uninjured but shaken up. While I was cleaning up the scene I noticed the square and compass on a truck. He had been by. So I asked him if that was his truck and he said yes it is. When I put my hand out you could see his stress was relieved and was so happy that a brother was taking care of his car! Even tho the accident happened on a busy road it’s like time had stopped while we briefly introduced each other and what lodges we belonged too! Kindness belongs in this industry! SMIB

Now I drive a four-wheeler, and my part in wrecks is now to wait patiently while you do your work.
I just completed a 7,050-mile road trip outvwest. We moved all but Sundays. For three weeks, we went out west and back, never once got held up in a wreck traffic jam.

What a bummer for the driver of that rig , picks the wrong trailer and then skewers his boss's Volvo on a guard rail , secondry crash , stop to check all the crew are ok and there , your work was really cut out for you ! I can just imagine how the boss must have been feeling , driver takes wrong trailer , prangs rig , asks Ron the details (fra tically) just for Ron to say , let me fix the hazmat leak and I will get back to you ! He's trying to work out the damage and costs quickly and the tow guy says ' let me stop everything potentially going up in flames ' must have made his night infinitely worse ! That driver and his Boss and JB Hunt were definitely having a bad bad day.....

I was going "What?" when Ron was handed the phone from the "owner" of the company. Thinking it was a bigwig at JB Hunt. Then I saw that the power was a different company. With your comment that this was a mistaken hook this driver and company have some interesting court times coming. Hunt will want to shed the blame and responsibility, as they should, for the financial ripples from this wreck. But with a "stolen" trailer and a fuel spill this will be an interesting mess. However, the tractors owner has a good DOT record so I expect they will step up and make it right.

Certainly not the driver. I'm sorry but anyone out here wearing less than shoes automatically gets a lower assessment in my opinion because if they can't even meet that standard then I don't believe they can meet the rest of the standards to be a good professional driver.@bobmazzi7435

Nice job Ron,that could've been a mess if it went over the hillside, you probably would've had to call in a big crane to lift the trailer out & did you find out what he was hauling & why he grabbed the wrong trailer for

That looked like a really difficult job and as always your experience and expertise paid off. I think the only things that could of made the recovery even worse would be heavy rain, high winds and overhead power lines!

A great recovery by the whole crew. The truck must have leaked many gallons of diesel before you got there.
