  • Cummins 5.9 front crank seal install with tool. Always use loctite 545 even if the seal is red on the outside. Do not use rtv or thread locker.

Now is that a kit or did you come up with a way to better do this because I'm sure I'll be needing to do this soon as well as I start to really work on my truck in less than two years from now I'm going to take out another loan to start working on my truck again!

I bought the crank seal, install tool, and the loctite 545 separately. The crank seal was a genuine Cummins part that came with the wear sleeve. I also bought the wear sleeve install tool separately. The front crank seal and dowel pin fix was under $100, but man it took a lot of time and it was filthy in there.

@@ORIGINALCONCEPTGARAGE Dang. My truck interior is in pretty good shape for being a 2nd gen , but the interior was covered with diesel oil when I got it. It didn't look that dirty but if you touched anything it was like black shoe polish on your hand. I parked with on side higher than the other so the water would run out, poured liquid detergent on the floorboard and pressure washed the floorboard, under the seats, and behind the seats. then would switch sides. did that about 5 times for each side. I took liquid detergent with water in a spray bottle sprayed down the seats and hit it with a wet shop vac. I could only imagine what your truck looked like.

@@ORIGINALCONCEPTGARAGE When you end up doing the work pressure wash as much as you can on that engine before you take it apart.
