    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 20 днів тому

      The bike keeps up with traffic no problem in town but on the highway or freeway it's very limited. It will lose some speed going up an incline. If you don't want to lose any speed you need a 400cc+ bike.

      It will do 55mph all day. It's pretty flat where I live. Stock it runs at high RPM's so I don't think it would have too much trouble. The top speed video I made of this bike there were a few inclines.

    Had exactly the same issue with my son’s old Honda Today (NVS 50cc) - probably not helped that the fuel that had sat for 8 months. Carb looked approx same as that one. Taking the carby off isn’t hard, the key is remembering what hose came from where so can refit correctly. Unscrew each hose clamp, unscrew the clamps to the back (from air box) and front (to engine inflow manifold) and most of the way there. I took the carby bowl off (looked clean and functional), screwed in new jets (both), gave the carby a thorough blast with carby clean (didn’t look clogged so I skipped giving it a ultrasonic bath), then (after draining the tank, new fuel), refitted the carby. Initially it wouldn’t run right but I could feel an air (vacuum) leak so changed one of the hoses. I was still getting a bit of bogging but that fixed itself when I put the air cleaner / cover back on… carb was getting too much air without those back in place?) After that, starts instantly every time, pulls through the rev range, no bogging… Total cost (2 jets from Honda dealer, 10% of a can of carby cleaner, $1 of vacuum line) was about A$20 (australian) For a non-mechanic, and my first time taking off a carb, I was quite pleased with myself😀

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 2 місяці тому

      Awesome. I'm glad you got it sorted out. It's a great feeling when can do the job without help. I wish I had a scooter when I first started driving. In my opinion it's the best thing for a beginner to learn on. Basic troubleshooting and maintenance are easy to learn and the cost of keeping them going is fairly cheap. The first carbs I rebuilt were a Rochester single barrel and a quadrajet. It would have been nice to start with something like a little scooter carb to get a basic idea. When I rebuilt the carb on this particular bike when I first got it, it looked like the inside of a fishtank after a year of not being cleaned. It sat for 5 years though before I picked it up. Thanks for watching! CHEERS

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 3 місяці тому

      I think it depends on your size, weight, and what you plan on using the bike for. Long rides? Highway/freeway riding? Just around town? The Papio looks cool, but I would still go with the Ghost between the two. I seen a Papio for $3,300 just now. The ghost would leave it in the dust and is cheaper. Despite the fact you are a first time rider, don't let that discourage you from getting a bigger bike. For $3,000 + you should see if you have a Royal Enfield dealer nearby and check out their 350cc bikes. You get a better bike that you can make payments on and the ones I've been looking at have a 3 year warranty.

      @@jacoblewis6237 Oh ok. I would definitely go with the Ghost. Also check the Venom Sportster. It has the same engine as the Ghost for $500 cheaper. I have to add if you are a big dude the Ghost I would call a mid size bike. I'm 5'7 170lbs and it fit me perfect.

      I thought about it, but I don't have a good camera right now. The wind noise is terrible. I'm too poor to buy something nice right now.

      @thelagmeister 3 місяці тому

      It's pretty easy. Believe it or not chewing gum will help you relax. You can practice at home before you go. I laid out 2x4's to make the right turn. I would flip u turns in the street and do figure 8's without putting my foot down. Last, I would accelerate from a stop and then slam on the brakes. If you have a big heavy bike that would make it a little harder. What kind of bike do you have?

    I was out riding with Tetanus Auto the other day and we ran the rocket 🚀 low on fuel it shut off and gave us a hell of a time running good since now its a hit and miss on the how welĺ it runs but it does run just not like it did before and we switched carburetor on it to no avail

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 4 місяці тому

      Thats pretty much what happened to this one. I ran it out of gas and I think all the crap in the tank went straight to the carb. Have you changed the fuel filter? Another thing to check is the fuel "pump". If you pull the fuel hose off the carb and crank it fuel should come out. If the fuel just pours out non stop without cranking it you need a fuel pump. Have you changed the plug yet and does the spark plug wire have a good connection?

    I love the idea of lowering the bikes they look great cool until you miss Goin a bit off road definitely made a difference

      @thelagmeister 4 місяці тому

      Yeah that's true. I like the way this one turned out. it's only slightly lower. I miss the 171 I lowered. It was really comfortable. On both bikes the ground clearance wasn't bad at all. I like having a low seat height.

    I hit the starter and my starter kinda want to go but ground on the battery gets hot i think my battery is toast any idea wat else could be i ordered a new harness cus i had my music on when my scooter started loosing power and cables started smoking so i got all the components with the harness changing that and my battery i should b good to go?

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 4 місяці тому

      That's a tough one. A loose connection, bad ground, or too much current running through could cause the wires to heat up. You need to check the voltage on the battery and have it load tested. an auto part store should do that for free. If you are running a stereo on the scooter, it may not make enough power to run everything. Will it still kickstart? If you got a complete wire harness that will be a good start. I just ordered a new battery of Amazon for $20. Changing the wire harness and battery should fix the problem. I made a video on rebuilding the starter, you should check it out. It's not too hard to do. Mine would give small cranks and stop then after that it did nothing and I think the hot wire was grounding out inside the starter and one of my brushes was stuck.

    Stock is nice mpg when i put on the 90cc kit oh my lord it just drains the fuel pretty fast

    • @thelagmeister
      @thelagmeister 4 місяці тому

      Yeah, that's true but it's still worth the upgrade. I thought about the 90cc kit on this one, but I want to run the 50cc cylinder for a little while since there's barely any miles on it.
