I’m sorry but the reaction from mark was one of the best parts. That had my laughing pretty good. This vehicle is a riot. So glad you guys did a video on this car it’s pretty amazing.
As the owner of a daily driven V-wagon, I'll say I was personally able to get over any shortcomings of the interior very quickly as a result of how fun and unique this car is. But I'm a HP junky and a huge wagon and sleeper fan, so I lusted after this car from the day they first teased us with the possibility of a 5 door. I could probably drive it sitting on a 5 gallon bucket with a stripped interior and still love it dearly. :) I put 25K miles on her last year and loved every minute of it. I thought you guys were a little harsh on the quality of the interior but I understand that a bare-bones Honda Accord these days comes with more for less. But for a wagon with 550 hp (650 hp now) I'm willing to deal with it not being "perfect" in other areas.

The CTS V wagon is amazing. I have no issues with American cars I own one. Namely also a GM product a c7 gs. We have driven every M5 on this channel and I can tell you for certain the CTS-v gen 2 is no where as nimble feeling as either the e60 m5 or f10 m5. We do a 1/2 mile runway event every year. There is a group of 4 or so guys who bring out CTS-Vs every time and rip it up. These cars safely make 900 WHP! Beastmode. Would love to pick up a 3 pedal wagon version.
I drove one with an automatic and absolutely fell in love. It's comfortable and fast, the engine is intoxicating. And for most normal people buying one used will think it's the nicest thing they ever owned.
The rear diff would explode on the Gen 1 because like the fuel tank they did not change it from the V6. It wasn't driver error. The torque rating on the diff was like 330ft-lbs or something like that. The V8 engine made 395lb-ft. It happened to me and GM paid for my new rear diff. They also upgraded but never recalled the launch CTS-V's for future models.
Mark and Jack's chemistry, especially doing the driving portion or the reviews -- it's almost magical man. The launch -- ha! I can watch that over, and over,.......and I have.
As soon as I watched, I commented on how they love to talk down on American cars, particularly GM interiors. Look at Mark’s demeanor on this video as compared to any of his other reviews. It really makes you wonder what his real beef is with American cars. I honestly don’t think it’s just the quality of the interiors...I think it’s a little deeper than that.
I owned a 2011 CTS-V manual for a little over a year. Mine had issues with the seats ROCKING fore and aft, which was not unheard of with the Recaro upgraded seats. The traction management in the gen 2 was also a huge upgrade over the Gen 1 CTS-V. New the interior wasn't as bad as it is now 9 years later I am sure.
Love my car. Put a short throw shifter in mine and it made such a difference. This video is very accurate about the car. After my first cts v in a automatic, I went to go find the manual. Took a year but I found one.
Thanks for the video. I own a 2011 CTS-V and love it. I almost bought a 2016 CTS-V but changed my mind I could not justify buying a 65K car that has just slightly better performance. I'll stick to my good old fun V2. Cold air intake with Corsa exhaust sounds amazing!

Not as much fluff or HP as the gen 2 but it didn't have a bunch of rattles or quality issues. Solid. Sold it in 2012 and I'm sure the buyer was happy with his ride.
Nvm the caddy. Mark, I have been watching your content for some time now. Your channel is truly a gem of the automotive channels on UA-cam for enthusiasts and petrol heads alike.
I had a V1, there is something special about the V series, low production numbers, manual transmission, practicality, CHEAP insurance, reliability, insane power, they check all the boxes besides interior.
One of those days in an underbody segment like this I'm expecting Jack to be grabbing Mark by the shirt and pulling him to the rear segment. 8:13 This is such a funny unintended editing easteregg. 😂 - Launch: gas tank near full. 8:46 Gas tank near empty. - (Also reveals how much editing trickery is going on. Also at 10:30 where Mark goes invisible.)
In case anybody is wondering how fast they're going, with the manual transmission: - top of 3rd is 90 mph - top of 4th is 120 mph - top of 5th is ~160 mph
I had a 05 CTS-V for 12 years and over 120,000 miles. Given what it was, it was the best car I've ever owned and usually 20 mpg. The only downside for my '05 was the engine mounts and rear diff bushing which needed to be replaced every 60,000 miles. They are not cheap and just another cost of a powerful engine with a Cadillac/BMW ride. Other than that it was just tires, fluids and brakes. I really have never much cared about the interior but then my first new car was a '72 Karman Ghia.
As a "10 CTS-V M6 owner. This is all pretty spot on haha. Delete the mufflers, short throw shifter, and an intake. Perfect car. Add a pulley, injectors, and a tune? Now you're making 620 at the wheels. Best bang for your buck. I got mine for 26k. Can't find a better deal on a baby charger hellcat.

it took me almost 5 minutes to get the frame to freeze on “my chrome pipes are non conforming”. well played sir.
This video is why I watch you guys. Great fun. Thank you guys.
Can’t wait for the Acura TL type s review.
I am planning to buy this car, a used one.. 4 door, rwd, manual, caddy luxury... Oerfext recipe for me
13:59 Jack forgot to clean up the mess he made on the door
You two are the Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsey of car reviewers. Way too brutal on this car.
I really miss that stud Turbowski. Where did he go?!?
goddamn that launch was saucy
In case anybody is wondering how fast they're going, with the manual transmission:
- top of 3rd is 90 mph
- top of 4th is 120 mph
- top of 5th is ~160 mph
This was so much fun guys xD
I've waited years for this review!
Nice price, how many miles on yours? I just crossed 40k.
Not even Cadillac is spared from the obesity epidemic
The intros have been so good lately. Haha. Nice work.
Wow best Savagegeese video ever. Those burnouts were awesome!
I'd love to see your opinion on an alpha platform CTS-V or the ATS-V.
Omg this sounds amazing! Thanks for putting mics under the hood!
Jack Singapore was ripping that V! That dude is awesome!
How can you NOT love Savage Geese when they're producing reviews on this level.
The CTS-V is for the accountant that still has the teenager inside. The grins say it all when launching the CTS-V or drifting around the corners.
