This is dream car when i was in my 30's. And now my dream came true. Got a '13 auto and it just puts a smile on your face every time you lay into it! But when you're not, its a smooth, great touring car. I've upgraded the "infotainment" to a Tesla style screen and it make all the difference in the interior. Modernizes it. Is it perfect....no....but man its sure is fun!

As the owner of a daily driven V-wagon, I'll say I was personally able to get over any shortcomings of the interior very quickly as a result of how fun and unique this car is. But I'm a HP junky and a huge wagon and sleeper fan, so I lusted after this car from the day they first teased us with the possibility of a 5 door. I could probably drive it sitting on a 5 gallon bucket with a stripped interior and still love it dearly. :) I put 25K miles on her last year and loved every minute of it. I thought you guys were a little harsh on the quality of the interior but I understand that a bare-bones Honda Accord these days comes with more for less. But for a wagon with 550 hp (650 hp now) I'm willing to deal with it not being "perfect" in other areas.

My Audis interiors would fall apart, plastics melt into goo, and the stupidest mechanical quirks. Don't get me wrong. There's definitely something special about Audis, BUT to me the V was the better product to own long term. I want another. Bad. But these days I'm a Volvo wagon guy. LMAO.

Owned an auto CTS-V Wagon for five years. Fantastic vehicle.
Regarding the strange criticisms that pop up here and there in the video, I can tell you that there were no squeaks or rattles or interior fit and finish problems on mine, none, not even at 60,000 miles when I sold it (at a profit) after five years of trouble-free driving.
    Reliable as nails.
Also, I don’t get the digs at the chassis, which was as advanced as anything offered by the Germans at the time.
I put that down to an odd anti-American bias possessed by some auto bloggers and journalists, which I don’t get.
    Maybe they think it’s cool?
My view is that cars should be judged on their individual merits, not where they come from or their snob appeal.
In sum, while they seem to get a kick out of the car - eventually - over all, I can say as a former owner who has owned a variety of cool and fast cars that it’s actually even better than they say.
And interestingly, for me, the worst thing about it was the seriously outdated infotainment system, which was a little dated even when it came out, which was something they (strangely) liked. (Though I do miss the hard drive storage.)

    • @jackholmes8105

The CTS V wagon is amazing. I have no issues with American cars I own one. Namely also a GM product a c7 gs. We have driven every M5 on this channel and I can tell you for certain the CTS-v gen 2 is no where as nimble feeling as either the e60 m5 or f10 m5. The CTS-v on corner entry on anything tight washes out far more than either of those cars(yes you can cure it with throttle oversteer but you shouldn't have to). I am not saying the m5s are better cars(they will be on a tow truck e60 m5 in particular), but saying the CTS-v feels as good subjectively in every department is just not being honest either Paul.

    • @vernonprice5986
      @vernonprice5986 4 роки тому +2

@@jackholmes8105 The CTS-V beat the E60 M5 in head to head testing in literally every single kind of comparison, and that includes handling, slalom, skidpad and lap times in addition to acceleration, braking, 0-60, 1/4 mile etc. The CTS-V beat the M5's time on the nurburgring by 14 seconds a lap. So you must have something wrong with your recollection of how the gen 2 CTS-V handles and how the E60 M5 handles, because the CTS-V beat its ass in direct comparisons.

The torque rating on the diff was like 330ft-lbs or something like that. The V8 engine made 395lb-ft. It happened to me and GM paid for my new rear diff. Thanks for the video. I own a 2011 CTS-V and love it. I almost bought a 2016 CTS-V but changed my mind I could not justify buying a 65K car that has just slightly better performance. I'll stick to my good old fun V2. Cold air intake with Corsa exhaust sounds amazing!

I always neglect to ‘Like’ videos and often just move on when there’s a pleas message “please like and subscribe and hit the bell and...”. This channel is is so well done and deserves to be at the forefront of the industry.
I like your videos and I also ‘Like’ them.
    Thanks for doing this.

Another great video, Mr. Gueese! Love that you make great content with older cars, like modern musicians play classical music with a different interpretation of the music composed way back then. Love that your content seem well scripted but is perceived just as casual as conversations between friends. These are just some thoughts from a long-term fan since your FR-S videos. Look forward to more like these!

I still miss my Gen 1 2005 CTS V manual. Fun car, mufflers removed. Flew under the radar. Matrix car. "Only" 405 HP but everything worked great and handled great. Not as much fluff or HP as the gen 2 but it didn't have a bunch of rattles or quality issues. Solid. Sold it in 2012 and I'm sure the buyer was happy with his ride.

One of those days in an underbody segment like this I'm expecting Jack to be grabbing Mark by the shirt and pulling him to the rear segment.
8:13 This is such a funny unintended editing easteregg. 😂 - Launch: gas tank near full. 8:46 Gas tank near empty. - (Also reveals how much editing trickery is going on. Also at 10:30 where Mark goes invisible.)

    - top of 4th is 120 mph
    - top of 5th is ~160 mph

I had a 05 CTS-V for 12 years and over 120,000 miles. Given what it was, it was the best car I've ever owned and usually 20 mpg. The only downside for my '05 was the engine mounts and rear diff bushing which needed to be replaced every 60,000 miles. They are not cheap and just another cost of a powerful engine with a Cadillac/BMW ride. Other than that it was just tires, fluids and brakes. I really have never much cared about the interior but then my first new car was a '72 Karman Ghia.

As a "10 CTS-V M6 owner. This is all pretty spot on haha. Delete the mufflers, short throw shifter, and an intake. Perfect car. Add a pulley, injectors, and a tune? Now you're making 620 at the wheels. Best bang for your buck. I got mine for 26k. Can't find a better deal on a baby charger hellcat.

The CTS-V is for the accountant that still has the teenager inside. The grins say it all when launching the CTS-V or drifting around the corners.
