This is such an awesome series. Stuff like this, pros explaining game mechanics/strategies in a clear and concise manner, is incredibly valuable and there isn't enough of it. Thank you so much Hera. Keep up the great work!
Hey Hera, thanks for these awesome videos 🙏😊. A gentle reminder to share some more tips in your originally planned 6 and 7 video series. Or with your now experience maybe you have new insights to redo the whole series?
Stand ground is also very useful for steppe lancers, because if you tight patrol them in aggressive stance, they'll just charge the opponent as soon as they see him which is far from ideal. With stand ground, they will stay in this tight formation that allows them to defeat paladins in equal numbers. Just mind ranged units
FYI: this one has not been added to the playlist yet. FYI 2: it would be really user friendly if you would reverse the order of your playlist, i.e. no 1 on top in stead of bottom. FYI 3: (but this is probably just a personal antic of mine) at the end of your introduction you consistently say "Without further ado, let's hop right into the video."... only to have it followed by a whole cut-screen thingy. XD I mean, I love it, it's beautiful, don't discard it... but that's no "no ado" in my mind. XD Kind regards.
Hey Hera! Nice videos so far! Very good info for the newbies as me! Can you provide the #6 and #7 series? How do you put the stances when attacking big armies?
When using melee to raid, I like using Defensive stance instead of Stand Ground. Especially if I've scared them off of a resource and don't want them coming back to it, but also just sending some units in and not having to micro them to either attack the next vil (SG) or not go into the TC (A).
Great Video Like Always ! Think I Might have a Tip. Have the spear man stand ground while ur patrolling the wood line so if they attack they run into it. That way if they would walk into them would they get a hit off. Or does it not work like that?
So basically always put your feudal units on stand ground? Got it! Thank you for this series it might actually help me get to 1600 during this summer mabye :D
Great Video!! I know this video was about early game engagements, but since we're talking about military stances, when raiding trade in TGs, we put melee units like paladins in defensive stance and ranged units in aggressive stance, am I right?
Yes, I have been looking for a decent explanation of aoe 2 micro for a loooong time and I finally found it, excellent excellent job!! (this whole series, looking forward to the rest of them). By the way, what about the attack move command, should that never be used and patrol should always be used instead? One issue I have with the patrol command is if I do something else, often the units will have begun retreating back to my base if I used the patrol command to get them to go towards the enemy tc, should I use the attack move command instead?
Hey, glad ur enjoying them! I got 2 more on the way. Attack move is only for HD, its the same thing as patrol just the units dont go back as u mentioned, unfortunately on voobly we dont have that option, so your stuck with patrol
Hi Hera! First, thank you for sharing this tutorials. Second, do you have something prepared about hotkeys to improve game speed/multitasking? What your advice for "go to buildings buttons" and how to use group numbers properly (just for units groups)? Think it will be very useful for community/subscribers in a way to perform better microing fights and (my handicap) making constant army production in imperial battles. Keep it up, [DarkL]Poisn.
I promise u its not a bug, seen it way too many times. Standground only switch targets when they literally cant hit the first target u selected whereas aggresive will switch targets if they find a closer one
ok....im sry...but in the 2 nd situation i feel like its better for ur scouts to get damage off than to just sit there doing nothing....yea, the front scout attacked the vil, but the back line couldnt get to the vil, so i feel like the back line should have been doing damage to other vils than to be on stand ground and not get ANY damage...
6 and 7 please, these are so good!
so I think he never came back to these
I had no idea how important stances were, this is actually just blowing my mind

This one is missing in the tutorial Playlist. Could you add it there (in the correct order, preferably)?
Thanks Hera, your videos are very very helpful. Here's the the best explanation of micro that I have found on the internet. Please keep them coming!
This is an amazing series of short videos. Many thanks for the effort.
Very good, Hera. This serie is awesome!!!

meanwhile in DE: all of them attack the lumber camp instead of the villagers 11
Hera, where is the next video? You forgot us :( 11

great series, plz finish it with big fight micro
Awesome series. Golden biggest of info.
Wonderful series, thanks for making these!

I think no attack stance is very useful for onagers, so you don't take down your own army

We're never getting parts 5 and 6 are we :(

I hope next will be how to put big groupe of archers all in narrow place against knights 😊
You sound younger in this video lol thanks for all the videos they are really helpful.

Hey ill talk about bigger fights and raiding in the next video, but basically melee units aggressive, and ranged units on standground is a good rule
Stand Ground is pretty much Mandatory on Galactic Battlegrounds where everything is ranged.

Thanks. I will reach 1200 watching this videos.
Cool! Unfortunately following you requires a lot of concentration due to your swallowed words.
Hmm what happens when attacking with defensive stance? doesnt it work better than stand ground ( units keep attacking units in area) ?
Great job now i feel like larry
How about spearman defending in patrol?
perfect explanation
What about patrolling and following?
Another perfect tips, thanks Hera u r master
Eeh Hera. Great videos. We wanna see build orders :)
And, or general strategies for economy and army
Appriciated ! Thanks for sharing.

so is 5/7 it?
Where are the last two videos?
awesome content, I just love it!
that's actually almost feels like a bug that scouts attack something else other than the target on aggressive and defensive stances
I promise u its not a bug, seen it way too many times. Standground only switch targets when they literally cant hit the first target u selected whereas aggresive will switch targets if they find a closer one

Hey if anyone has the links to #6 and #7, it'd be great if you could share it here. Thanks!
Isn't the no attack stance useful for bombard cannons and onager-line? Since they have friendly fire.
Yes actually, but stand ground isn't bad for them either
