You guys are hilarious. Andrew lays out clear logic on a sports watch - light weight, would play golf or tennis in it and then picks a watch that doesn’t meet any of those things (like when they did divers where he said no numbers and then picked the Fifty Fathoms). Adrian wants to be diverse and interesting and then goes back to his Rolex comfort zone. And lastly George can’t help himself and picks the closest thing to a high end Tag he could find. It goes to show you that we love what we love and when forced to choose there is no logic to what we like best. Can’t help being ourselves. The best part is that you all think you have cracked the code and chosen something out of your predictable lane and then are so shocked when your peers bring you back to reality. Great entertainment and keep being yourselves.
They titanium yacht master, is the winner. Titanium so light and durable. I work out in a titanium Offshore and it feels like there’s nothing on my wrist.
gotta give GB the dub. that Chopard is a true sports watch. the rolex Titanium YM is unobtanium and agree with GB that you gotta have the regatta timer on it to make it a true sports watch. and the overseas with pointer date and moonphase is a dressier piece due to its complications, on a bracelet.
Adrian: _Rolex YachtMaster 42_ Me: ...really bro? That Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is 1000 times prettier than that Rolex. Stunning watch. The Vacheron is magnificent, and wins out of the three without a shadow of a doubt though. That watch makes my soul itch. Achingly beautiful.
Gotta give it to Adrian on this one with the titanium Yachtmaster. Always fun listening to your guys' perspectives and debates! Would be cool if they made an Oysterflex variation of that model.
Lets not kid ourselves the actual watches we would wear to play rigorous sports such as tennis, football, basketball, etc is going to be some sort of Gshock or other resin watch.
Great episode! So much fun. Love when you guys go out and search for watches. I think George is the winner for bringing something very sporty and different to the table.
I would posit that a sports watch needs to be, or at least look, rugged and ready for doing stuff. The Vacheron looks ready for dinner at the Ritz while the Chopard looks ready for dinner with your Granddad, which sadly only leaves the Rolex which does, undeniably look very rugged. Twinned with the titanium construction, it's the only one of those three which looks the part and the presence of the word "Yacht" on the dial does at least tie it to a sport, however loosely it actually relates to it in use. That said, had George rocked the GTS (of which I know he's just done a very limited edition run), or the Alpine Eagle, then Chopard would definitely have had the win.
George had his own Chopard in the works so knew what he was picking. (his Bamford custom is much better than the one they showed here.) The VC is far to delicate for sports watches. I'd say the Hermes and Alpine Eagle were the best watches shown in this category.
For me a sports watch is different than a tool watch.. that VC is a perfect (luxury) sports watch (similar to an Aquanaut for example) and the Rolex titanium Yatchmaster is an incredible tool watch 🙌🏻👍🏻 great video as always!!
Not a big fan of releasing these Watches & Wonders episodes so many months after the event happened. I understand the Episodes shot in the Studio are also pre-recordered several months ago, but they feel a lot more timeless and could be listened to at any time. Not really the case with those in my opinion.
George took this - imo. The racing heritage behind that watch is insanely deep. And the inspiration from tyre tread marks - damn thats good. VC retrograde is too dressy and dainty to ever be a dress watch. Yatchmaster? Pls. Probably the guy who sponsors yatch races, without actually knowing how to sail.
Gotta go with Adrian on this one.. both in terms of choice and reasoning on the Overseas. The Mille Miglia.. it’s one more drive through the rain away from looking like an Invicta.. No… Also, Adrian looked like he definitely needed a coffee doing this video.. watches and wonders was intense for you 3!!!
The titanium Yacht Master on the Oysterflex strap… winner. Unfortunately for Adrian Rolex won’t play ball so Andrew for the win. GB gets a special award for highlighting the overlooked Chopard.
Andrew wins with the VC. Honestly, how badass would it be to wear that overseas as a sports watch? The overseas went to Everest, collectors using watches that have proven to handle the conditions of a “sports watch” regardless of the finishing, should be celebrated. I love nice finishing, but I also love wearing my watches, even the pretty ones.
Great episode guys! George - very cool watch with a chronograph but with only 50m WR, I’d think twice about going near a lake, ocean, or even a swimming pool. Cool strap. Andrew - a beautiful watch but VC themselves describe this as a “sporty-elegant steel watch” so, sorry mate - no go. Unless your timing a race around the world for 80 days a calendar isn’t really that relevant to most sports situations. Again 50m WR? Adrian - with 100m WR, and a light strong titanium case it’s hard to argue. No chronograph, the YM bezel allows timing in minutes up to an hour. Of the three the Adrian’s YM wins for me!
I am voting for the Chopard as the sports watch. You would buy the Rolex if you don't know what to buy and you would buy the VC if you know what to buy but neither are dedicated to any sports.
As much as I don’t want it to win… The Rolex is the best sports watch out of the 3. Another win for the Evil Empire. The Chopard is the coolest of the 3, but 50m water resistance is scary on a true, everyday sports watch. All sports, not just racing for this challenge. The design looks like a magnet for damage for hand sports. The VC is a dress watch with a rubber strap and complicated to read at a glance. If I’m sporting it up I need clear quick reference. It’s is last place. The Rolex is tough, 100m water resistance (which I think is the minimum for a sports watch) and it has a timing bezel for quick timing of events/games/sports. It’s light; over priced and probably unobtainable… lol
I'll take all three. Great choices by everyone. I've never really looked at a Chopard before but I definitely like GB's choice. One day I would love to own a Yacht Master, but I'm not sure if I would want a titanium one. The Overseas is stunning but a moon phase on a 'sports watch' is a bit of a stretch IMO. To go with one sports watch I would have to go with Mr. Boring.
I’m going to give it to Andrew this time. Started strong with Zenith and Overseas was a chef’s kiss. George comes second for his heartwarming story from youth:)😅. Adrian, mate, Rolex? What were you thinking, you’ve messed up by bringing a watch one can’t even buy. 😂 Great content as always.
@jamied931 fair point, but at least you have a fighting chance to get on the list without buying several other watches from AD and another bunch of less desirable Rolex models 😀. I appreciate Rolex for the quality, but their commercial model is just offending.
I think from a practicality perspective Adrian’s titanium Rolex edges this competition. George’s Chopard was a great choice. Andrew’s Vacheron was absolutely stunning & the most beautiful piece of the three-but a moon phase on a ‘sports’ watch I feel is slightly off specification. Love your videos and discussions and stories chaps👍👍
George all the way on this one. A yacht..ers?... ists?... sailor's watch should have a regatta dial. VC is a dress watch disguised as a sports watch (and a very pretty one too). The obvious sports watch is an RM27, but I imagine that would be tricky to get hands-on with. Also someone needs to have an intervention with Andrew on his Rolex problem :P
Paying 10 large + on a sports watch? I'm surprised none, especially George didn't grab a Tag Aquaracer or one of the connected series. Relatively tough but cheap in this context. Sports watch is a banger watch, not a suit watch! Isn't the YM a detuned submariner? No depth rating, double direction bezel etc? I'd love to see a proper sub in moonmetal! (Ti) I loved the Chopard tho. The tyre tread strap....cmon!!
man these upload times are killing me... but hey.. makes my breakky that much more fun! ..you guys are AWESOME! .. @George: Wearing my Tag Heuer Calibre 6 Grand Carrera (BRING IT BACK) watching this... and @Andrew: you gotta let me know with T&T opens up again so that my next visit to Melbourne involves me spending money... !!!!
I’ve been into watches for over a decade. Have had many nato straps, and Can honestly say that the Bark and Jack nato straps are excellent. Good job dude.
If I had to choose one of the 3, it would have to be the one George chose, Chopard. Just because I cannot associate sports with the Overseas, for me it is more of a dress watch than a sports one. As for the Adrian choice, well, the Yacht Master only has titanium as an advantage. On the other hand that Alpine, it ticks all the boxes for me... 🤤 Great episode, well done.
Chopard for the history and a watch you can actually buy. George talking about the Spyder tyre tread on the rubber strap was so interesting. Adrian's Rolex choice - so unimaginative but for the titanium element. Titanium is the best material for a sports watch. VC is an elegant choice but a moon phase isn't a sports watch!
A sports watch for me could be a blue dial integrated bracelet, or Tag Heuer's Aquaracers/Formula1 or something like a Tudor Pelagos because of it being durable to withstand a day of swimming, golfing and racing and branded for an younger audience than Rolex. A Rolex just doesn't feel like something you would wear doing sports, even though it ticks the specification-boxes.
VC Overseas! Probably that for me or the new Tudor burgundy - they fixed the bits I didn’t like about old one - bracelet - spacer ahead of crown. Hard to find one to buy!
All great sporty/tool watches...I love the Overseas, but I think the Yachtmaster wins. It is light, tough, wearable for all occasions, it is a tool watch for keeping time for sailing and diving (100mts)..and for cooking! Overseas too delicate I think...and the Chronograph is beautiful as well...but the Yachtmaster is more me.
1 Adrian (Rolex sports rep, good looking practical) 2 George (it’s cool) 3 Andrew (I normally agree with you, this time I think it’s a no, a lovely watch though)
If by "sport/sporting" we're describing a watch that can withstand the rigors of vigorous physical activity, I would either (a) eschew *any* of my mech watches (and maybe even my quartz-analog numbers) and grab my Casio ProTrek PRG 300-series and call it an afternoon, or (b) grab my fairly-new Seiko 5 Sports GMT, which has a reasonably-rugged automatic movement, good-enough (100m) water-resistance, seriously-good legibility in any light, and can give me the time in three zones at once. AND it probably looks good on the biggest yacht...but Ill have to e-mail Mr. Spielberg for confirmation on the last bit. Otherwise: It's George's Mille Miglia for me. (Just to clarify: that race goes *much* farther back than 35 years, which I imagine at least one of y'all know...but I envy George's involvement with it!) Wonderful video again, guys!
As a huge Hublot fan i really wish Andrew brought out the Big Bang Unico Sky Blue or the Golf, but man that Overseas really shines. But tbh , not quite sporty in the sense that one would really treat it as luxury art piece more than a sport watch to rock in sports of any sorts😝
Adrian with the W. This is the first Titanium watch by Rolex. If it is done on a Explorer or Sub, it will be the ultimate Sport watch. But we know rolex trying very hard to change the collector's perspective on Yacht Master line, BUT too bad... Trying to make a not very sporty watch to be more sporty is just hard.
That Overseas is absolutely stunning, but I don’t think I’d dare do any sports in it - having palpitations just thinking about dinging it on a table playing cards.
Adrian you let me down! You had something with Chopard My vote has to go to George. Beautiful watch, obvious direct connection to sport, mechanical sport even which is the best connection to watches. And even better, George has a personal connection with it!
Chopard: Like the history. Only 50 meters of water resistance. That's a no for a do everything "sports watch" from me. Vacheron: To complicated and delicate as Adrian said. Rolex: It's kind of boring. Don't like the yachtmaster. But... i have to admit Adrian got the best sports watch of the three.
Thank you for another great show guys. Can't give the prize to Adrian this week as choosing any Rolex is too dull. George i think probably had the truest representation of a sports watch but i can't go against Andrew's choice of VC for the glorious blue of that dial if for no other reason.
When Adrian cut off Andrew, that was hilarious, but if you think anyone but Adrian was the winner, then you're sniffing glue. The Rolex was the only winner out of the three. Now, does that mean that any of you have made good, in any way practical choices? Fuck no! Adrian was closest and his cost around 12,000! Andrew, I would take the 48,000, buy the Rolex, and take a chunk out of my mortgage. If I owned that VC, it would never come anywhere NEAR any kind of sporting activity. Have to say, George's choice was a good one for the strap alone....but no. Adrian has won, and even his choice is bananas. Did you all leave your ritalin in your hotel rooms for this episode? My parents were both psychiatric nurses, and watching this felt like I was visiting their place of work. Wildly entertaining, absolutely nuts.
Before I even saw what they picked I was thinking I would pick the titanium Yachtmaster in this competition or possibly the JLC Polaris Date. Gotta give it to Adrian.
Adrian bagged this one, sorry Andrew and George but the YACHT TI to me sits above the Mille Miglia and the Overseas in terms of sport watch. what a fun episode this is! thank you guys for making my Monday morning not a boring one and a nice way to start of my working day!
Andrew wins with the sport LOOK and versatility of styles from the Vacheron. But based on movement and the comfortable material of titanium Adrian takes the win
You guys are hilarious. Andrew lays out clear logic on a sports watch - light weight, would play golf or tennis in it and then picks a watch that doesn’t meet any of those things (like when they did divers where he said no numbers and then picked the Fifty Fathoms). the only thing a watch should do is make you feel great when you wear it
I mean, it should probably tell the time as well?
@@cunninghamsterDetails!
P4P the Chopard Mille Miglia wins for me (out of these 3)
They titanium yacht master, is the winner. Titanium so light and durable. I work out in a titanium Offshore and it feels like there’s nothing on my wrist.
Holy shit brandon the OG Coach
gotta give GB the dub. that Chopard is a true sports watch. the rolex Titanium YM is unobtanium and agree with GB that you gotta have the regatta timer on it to make it a true sports watch. and the overseas with pointer date and moonphase is a dressier piece due to its complications, on a bracelet.
Saw the old Oris altimeter in the wild and the guy used it as his backup altimeter as a professional skydiver. Coolest watch story I've heard
I’m a skydiver myself. And I def want to try this altimeter out one day to see if it holds up against my digital for real jumping altimeter.
Adrian: _Rolex YachtMaster 42_
Me: ...really bro?
That Chopard Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF is 1000 times prettier than that Rolex. Stunning watch.
The Vacheron is magnificent, and wins out of the three without a shadow of a doubt though. That watch makes my soul itch. Achingly beautiful.
Gotta give it to Adrian on this one with the titanium Yachtmaster. Always fun listening to your guys' perspectives and debates! Would be cool if they made an Oysterflex variation of that model.
Aye
"Whats the sport element in this? dunno, being rich" hahahahhaha laughed way too much on this
VC>>Chopard>>YM. Great episode. Great chemistry. Not too stuffy nor too serious but still informative. Well done boys.
Lets not kid ourselves the actual watches we would wear to play rigorous sports such as tennis, football, basketball, etc is going to be some sort of Gshock or other resin watch.
Great episode! So much fun. Love when you guys go out and search for watches. I think George is the winner for bringing something very sporty and different to the table.
thank you I think i won haha
Adrian as the most logical choice ! Deserve the win
I like the emotional connection between Chopard and George is really wholesome
I would posit that a sports watch needs to be, or at least look, rugged and ready for doing stuff. The Vacheron looks ready for dinner at the Ritz while the Chopard looks ready for dinner with your Granddad, which sadly only leaves the Rolex which does, undeniably look very rugged. The VC is far to delicate for sports watches.
I'd say the Hermes and Alpine Eagle were the best watches shown in this category.
Slight edge to the Chopard because it was inspired by sport tires for the strap and they inclusion of race inspired dials gives the edge.
For me a sports watch is different than a tool watch.. that VC is a perfect (luxury) sports watch (similar to an Aquanaut for example) and the Rolex titanium Yatchmaster is an incredible tool watch 🙌🏻👍🏻 great video as always!!
The VC is beautiful, gonna have to agree with Andrew on this one!
Yeah me too. But that’s a pretty freaking classy sports watch.
Andrew wins.
Not a big fan of releasing these Watches & Wonders episodes so many months after the event happened.
I understand the Episodes shot in the Studio are also pre-recordered several months ago, but they feel a lot more timeless and could be listened to at any time.
Not really the case with those in my opinion.
You'll get over it
Just lean into it. It’s about watches and it’s fun goofing around.
"George answer the question please" you guys are lovely :D
George took this - imo. The racing heritage behind that watch is insanely deep. And the inspiration from tyre tread marks - damn thats good.
VC retrograde is too dressy and dainty to ever be a dress watch.
Yatchmaster? Pls. Probably the guy who sponsors yatch races, without actually knowing how to sail.
Totality missed the high beat Alpine Eagle release - guess W n’ W keep on giving. Thanks Adrian
Have to go with the VC here. Does so much more as Andrew says, but it's a sports watch at its heart.
YM all the way, robust, lightweight, 200m water resistance, Chopard 2nd
Yachtmaster wins here as a true sports watch.
Adrian has this one. A sports watch should be capable of being a daily. The YM is the only one of the 3 I could see myself wearing daily.
George loves that Chopard because it looks like a Tag Carrera, haha. Easily my favorite videos every week. Wish we had more
They are all great watches, difficult to choose but if I had to buy one, that'd be the Overseas
Gotta go with Adrian on this one.. both in terms of choice and reasoning on the Overseas.
The Mille Miglia.. it’s one more drive through the rain away from looking like an Invicta.. No…
Also, Adrian looked like he definitely needed a coffee doing this video.. watches and wonders was intense for you 3!!!
The titanium Yacht Master on the Oysterflex strap… winner. Unfortunately for Adrian Rolex won’t play ball so Andrew for the win. GB gets a special award for highlighting the overlooked Chopard.
My vote for the VC followed closely by the Chopard. The third one is a another nice re-interpretation of a classic dive watch….
Had to stop the video to put on the mille miglia 8992, my first priceier watch years ago… And the Alpine Eagle is outstanding…
So George wins by far!
Andrew wins with the VC. Honestly, how badass would it be to wear that overseas as a sports watch? The overseas went to Everest, collectors using watches that have proven to handle the conditions of a “sports watch” regardless of the finishing, should be celebrated.

Of the three the Adrian’s YM wins for me!
Chopard is a great brand that just does not get the mention that it should. Great pick by George.
Loved the show!
George: lovely story and I loved learning about the history.
Adrian: so predictable (but a nice call)
Andrew: no
George is the winner!
I am voting for the Chopard as the sports watch. You would buy the Rolex if you don't know what to buy and you would buy the VC if you know what to buy but neither are dedicated to any sports.
Cant believe im gonna say this, but George absolutely smashed it 👏👏
The tension between these three makes this so worth watching. Keep up the good work.
Adrian nailed your question right at the start for a pilot Andrew! Legibility! Exactly the same as a diver. Legibility.
I would wear the Yachtmaster even in the gym! The 2 others no way!

George with the Chopard for the win. True sports watch with pedigree.

Wait, you think you can but a blue overseas? That thing sells way over list because its impossible to buy retail
@jamied931 fair point, but at least you have a fighting chance to get on the list without buying several other watches from AD and another bunch of less desirable Rolex models 😀. I appreciate Rolex for the quality, but their commercial model is just offending.
@@jamied931not these days it doesn't. You can easily get an overseas for around list price.
Andrew brought a flame thrower to a wrestling match. The Vacheron has annihilated the opposition 😊. Not a fair fight.
Is anyone’s audio not matched up to the video at all?
Andrew and the VC for the win. A Rolex, Adrian really? That Chopard is beautiful a very close second to George.
Alpina loses me at being owned by Citizen. It’s like Zodiac being owned by Fossil. There’s just better options at that price.
Best sports watch:
1st. Adrian
2nd. Andrew
3rd. George
I'd love to see a proper sub in moonmetal! man these upload times are killing me... but hey.. makes my breakky that much more fun! ..you guys are AWESOME! .. @George: Wearing my Tag Heuer Calibre 6 Grand Carrera (BRING IT BACK) watching this... and @Andrew: you gotta let me know with T&T opens up again so that my next visit to Melbourne involves me spending money... !!!!
Adrian: You can debate all you want but the Rolex Yachtmaster 42 in titanium.
Andrew: Nah...
New drinking game: one shot for every time George says “Mille Miglia.” Spoiler: you’d need hospitalization.
I’ve been into watches for over a decade. Have had many nato straps, and Can honestly say that the Bark and Jack nato straps are excellent. Good job dude.
you are absolutely right
1.Vacheron 2.Chopard
I love those episodes from W&W. So much live, raw, unsolicited energy xD
George wins.
I appreciate how you de-synchronised sound from picture in the shot where George claps to make a synchronisation mark. :D
Hahahahaha. Lol
Great episode, well done.
All great choices, Rolex has my vote for this category, sports watch. Price, durability and wearability.
Changing the ending of the guitar riff should become a recurring thing for each episode this season
VC Overseas! Probably that for me or the new Tudor burgundy - they fixed the bits I didn’t like about old one - bracelet - spacer ahead of crown. Hard to find one to buy!
Thank you for bringing us this amazing content!
1 Adrian (Rolex sports rep, good looking practical)
2 George (it’s cool)
3 Andrew (I normally agree with you, this time I think it’s a no, a lovely watch though)
GB wins this one, he did the assignment and brought the Chopard Mille Miglia proper sports watch.
Well done, Sir.
Anything but a Rolex. The Vacheron is pure class and not obvious. The winner for me.

But tbh , not quite sporty in the sense that one would really treat it as luxury art piece more than a sport watch to rock in sports of any sorts😝
George wins. His watch has the closest connection to actual sport. The Mille Miglia is waaaay underrated IMHO.
Has to be the Roilex - its the only one that would take a bashing and still look just as banging... go Adrian
I think I have to give this one to George. A watch with such a rich history. It looks rugged yet still delicate. A beautiful balance.
Andrew for the win! That galvanic blue dial is gorgeous.
Adrian you let me down! You had something with Chopard
My vote has to go to George. Beautiful watch, obvious direct connection to sport, mechanical sport even which is the best connection to watches.
And even better, George has a personal connection with it!
Adrian wins because the Ti YM is the only watch I'd actually not take off the eirst before doing anything remotely sporty.
Mille Miglia all the way.
Great show guys- for me the Yachtmaster won 🏆
But great story about the CP ❤️
-could a high complicated watch be a truly sports watch 🤔
Haha! You guys are so great! Fun episode! Love the way you share watches. What a team!
Audio is totally out of sync
I'm giving a hand to Adrian on this one closely followed by George
Being a driving enthusiast, I'd have to give my vote to the Chopard!
Georgie boy coming in hot with the Chopard
Lol crazy choice George, how is that Chopard the best sports watch when it’s not even the best chronograph out there 😂
The new Parmigiani models deserve a look aswell. They have killer dials, beautiful cases and lovely Vaucher movements

Adrian wins with the Rolex since it’s light and robust.
Adrian takes it, because of these watches the YM is the only one I would wear to do any sport. The other two are great, but delicate IMO
Well said
Sorry, the VC all day between these three, then the Chopard then the other one lol. Yeah that VC ticks ALL the boxes. Well done 😎👍🏼
