I often hear people saying that console games are more expensive but after getting some great deals on used discs and catching games on seasonal sales I think that's a hangover from past generations. Games go suuuper cheap in Microsoft's digital xbox store.
Now Xbox has a lot of the same or similar sales to Steam Sales. Ive gotten a ton of older AAA titles on Xbox for under $10. The whole "Steam games are so much cheaper" is left over from 10 years ago when that was true. Its not like that anymore
Sure in hardware capabilities and performance but Microsoft isn’t exactly making any cultural impacts in gaming with it. PS2 is probably the best console of all time in terms of of games and cultural significance
Agreed it's an engineering marvel, it's that they don't have any culture anymore. Maybe some pandering to some specific audience but they don't care about games anyways.
TBH I am a ps5 owner but from the start of this gen I always thought that xbox series x is better paired with the game pass but since most of my friends are on ps5 I had to go with it . Xbox really need to work on their exclusives
As a PC gamer since forever I always get all consoles for exclusives but the Xbox Series X is just my baby for those days were I don’t want to sit in front of a monitor all day. And just lay on bed relaxing. And the series X is built beautifully solid as a brick, quiet and efficient.

@@allgamebeija "50m+ hdmi cables that need to put above the ceiling, all the trouble of turning it ON on another room". You don't need to do all that just to play a living room, seen tons of living room setups without that nonsense.
This is one of the best video i've ever seen. In 2022 my pc was getting weaker and weaker until the moment that it cant even handle most of the games. After that my dad suprised me with a Xbox Series S and oh my, i'm glad he did. I'm a proud Xbox fan and a Xbox owner for 2 years. It helped me to build stronger bonds with video games. And made me realize that games can be big asf.
Game Pass was the reason I bought an Xbox Series X (I have all the PlayStations except for the PS5). and 1.5 years in I have completed games worth $4000, and I bought 3 years of GamePass for $100, it's been an great investment!
With the price increase for Gamepass now I am scared. Its going to be like $27CAD a month or $324 a year. I have never spent that much money a year on any set of games.
I also have a gaming PC gathering dust while I spend all my time on the Xbox. For a slight drop in quality, I love the simplicity of turning it on and bring in a game in less than a minute. Also switching between 5 games with quick resume and not having to load in is so good.
Quick Resume is *the* reason to own a Series X. Not for playing multiple games in one session, but for continuing the same game across multiple sessions.
Quick resume is amazing. Emulation is also amazing. Playing gow 4k60, or Mario bros, pokemon coloseum. Having a browser is amazing 😂 xbox is a way better day to day console. Ps5 is nice to go through a campaign, play 1 game at a time but that's about it.
I’m so glad someone finally put into words the reasons I love Xbox as a PC gamer. While I love modding old PC games and troubleshooting problems, most of the time I just wanna relax, press a button, and play a game. Xbox is also one of the main ways I use UA-cam & streaming services.
Play Anywhere is a game changer. I've got both 9th Gen consoles on my upstairs TV and my gaming PC in my home office. I lean towards Xbox often for 3rd party releases and pretty much only play PS5 exclusives on the PS5.
I've always been a PC gamer, but then, growing up, I started playing on Xbox more than on PC. Maybe it's because it's an easier system, maybe it's because Series X it's the best console ever created, the only thing I care is that Xbox is making me playing more, and enjoying videogames more.
I was primarily a PC gamer up until a year ago, all because I started working at home, meaning I would spend 8-10 hours a day in front of my PC. This pretty much made PC intolerable for me, as it would constantly remind me about it being a working station first and foremost. But then I decided to buy a console, of course due to a huge popularity of PS5 that's the console I sent my mind to buy, but then after digging a bit more and finding good and bads of each console I came to a conclusion that excluding the exclusive games (no pun intended), PS5 is objectively inferior to XBOX offering. Quick resume is a blast, backwards compatibility is absolutely insanely good, and of course game pass... I mean, I like Game Pass, don't get me wrong, but that wasn't the reason why I bought the console. I was in the market for a console, sure, but nevertheless it's the actually backwards compatibility in combination with quick resume that made a sale, because besides that these consoles are identical. Now, I got to admit that I'd rather take 30 fps over 60 fps, if it meant no more fiddling with settings for each game I own. It's an easy and seamless experience, and if playing games is your main concern, investing into a console is a good solution.
I got the Series X when it released, and later sold it for a PS5. And you’re exactly right. PS5 may have more quality exclusives but the Xbox is better in every other way, to the point I missed it repurchased it later. And personally, although I can’t deny the PS quality, the games started to bore me since it was just more of the same from PS4 gen. Meanwhile games like Halo Infinite (while it definitely had its issues) kept my friends and I playing for years. I have more time in that game than all the PS5 exclusives combined.
Same man! I sit on a windows pc all day at the office. Last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of one again when I got home. Sold my gaming PC and now have a XSX and PS5. No regrets
@@StarfieldWX-tb42 to me its a trade off, still id prefer them to be more consumer friendly, but lowkey, at the end of the day they *are*. Like not owning your games outright when you get a digital game is such a scam.
This only happened by chance for me. I went to live in Montreal for a month and couldn't bring my PC only my laptop. I had a ton of points on a credit card to spend so I got a Series X and now I am hooked. I just love laying on my bed playing games lol.
Xbox definitely has a lot of problems. But it's also the platform where I've spent the most of my gaming time and money. I want it to be more successful and relevant.
I switched to xbox from an high end pc due to university and dont look back. Completely changed the way i play, i went from pixel creeping every game and modifying ini files just to get that increased draw distance to relaxing on my sofa and just playing the game.
I have gamed mainly on a PlayStation but had some extra money and bought a series X and also play it way more than I thought I would. I mainly play it to play older backwards, compatible games but must say “quick resume” feature is so much better than anything Sony has to offer on PlayStation 5.
The Xbox Series X is by far the BEST console I've ever owned. I got my PS5 in 2021, my Series S in 2022 and my Xbox Series X a few months ago in 2024. The Xbox ecosystem is absolutely amazing, the ability to play all the games I purchased on Xbox 360 back in the day is a feature I didn't realize how badly I missed it. Being able to play GTA 4, midnight club, gears of war & so many other brilliant OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games. As far as the Xbox Series X is concerned it's honestly the best console I've ever owned. It's plenty powerful, consistently blowing me away with the fact I can play so many games with a resolution of 4K at 60fps OR 1440p at 120fps. It shocks me how gorgeous games run on the console. Not to say the PlayStation 5 doesn't have good looking games because it does but I was pleasantly surprised that the Series X performance was just as good if not better in most games I've played. Another brilliant feature of the Xbox Series X|S consoles is quick resume. It's a feature I wish was available on every console lol but I'm so glad I have it on my Series X. I was recently playing through Red Dead Redemption 2 for the second time (side note RDR2 is superior on XSX compared to PS5, this is well known but was news to me) and I was in the middle of a mission that required quite a few steps to get going & I was pushing back enemies in a shootout when my wife called out for me to help her prepare dinner. I pressed Xbox button, clicked on home which put RDR2 into quick resume and I turned off my Xbox. About 3 hours later I booted up my XSX and there was a little tab that said quick resume, I clicked on RDR2 and bam I was back in the middle of the shootout as if nothing happened at all. It truly is REMARKABLE to be honest. Next up is Xbox has so MANY games launching within the next 18 months. We have a great cadence for upcoming releases, plus with an Xbox Gamepass Ultimate sub, there's a massive catalog of really good games from ALL the Xbox generations. Lastly I can't talk about Xbox without mentioning gamepass. It's a brilliant subscription service that has allowed my wife and I to expand our gaming horizons substantially. We still purchase plenty of games but now we have the added ability to play games we would've never purchased otherwise. Even with the price increase it's the BEST value in gaming. To end it all this video is lamenting everything I love about my XSX. Remote play, backwards compatibility, online functionality, and amazing games that allow us to have so many brilliant memories made. That's what it's all about, gaming is a medium that brings people together. Xbox Live connects me to a gaming community that I genuinely appreciate. Yes, the PSN does the same thing but I've found over the years the Xbox community to be more open and welcoming. Obviously there's bad toxicity in every online community but for the most part the people I've met have been cool Long Live Xbox, happy gaming ✌️
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e yes ALL the 360 games I currently own work on my Xbox Series X. Does every Xbox 360 game work on XSX? Of course not but it sure is a hell of a lot better than having to stream PS3 games from PS Plus premium that aren't even the games I own. I have many PS3 games that are stuck on PS3 so when I get excited that my Xbox 360 games work on my XSX yeah it's something to be happy and stoked about 💯
man i also went through a short nostalgic trip of collecting old xbox games from marketplace - if BC becomes larger itd be great for me to pick up a series x
I've found my people. Thank you for making this video. I was strictly PlayStation growing up before I got my first Xbox console in 2007. It changed how I would play games forever, and I've been an Xbox fan ever since.
While I still think the PS2 is the greatest console ever made with the greatest catalogue, I will likely only be purchasing XBox if I get any consoles moving forward. Sony has done nothing but piss me off for years now, and while Microsoft pisses me off on occasion, they also provide a lot more things that make me pleased with their services (PC operating systems are firmly in the pisses me off category, though).
I have always been a PC Gamer, love MMORPGs and FPS. But lately the convenience of playing on series X is winning me, stress free experience, backwards compatibility, better game localization pricing(here in Brazil), gamepass, crossave and so much more. i still play on pc/ps5 and switch but the series X is just more competent in almost every way.
It is extremely dope that i can take my old copies of Kotor or Jade Empire, and put them in my Series X, AND PLAY THEM. Sony always drops the ball for backwards compatibility.
Loved this video. Lately, I've been thinking about picking up a Series X again simply due to how comfortable the experience was. I've been a PC Gamer for a few years, and I only take a liking to small form factors to mimic that look of a console. The Series X nailed that look ( a strip of RGB lighting would've been perfect), and I've also been missing physical copies lately. As mentioned within the video, xbox comes closest to PC and offers better backward compatibility as opposed to the PS5. I was a playstation gamer for the longest, but the PS5 never had my interest. I have a high-end PC at the moment, but the ease of use with the series x is unmatched.
@nicekix3038 Why is that hard to believe? I'm actually in the same boat. I was a PS fanboy up until the end of the PS4 generation. I used to hate XBox until I got my hands on an XBox One X. PS5 is not doing anything for me and it's most certainly not giving me an incentive to pick one up.
@@SalaX13 You were never a real PlayStation fan, if you were a PS fanboy, and hated Xbox. That tells me you were only gaming on PlayStation because it was more popular than Xbox. You probably started gaming during the PS4 generation, because there’s no way you were gaming during the Xbox 360 generation, and hated Xbox. PlayStation is my preferred platform because I like JRPGs, and PS studios, but I don’t hate Xbox. I used to game on Xbox, but I’m more into single player games than multiplayer games.
@@nicekix3038 I did start in the PS3 era, but it wasn't because of popularity. It was nothing but shooters on the XBox 360. I feel the same way about single player games. I just don't like the current state of PS. What they did to The Last of Us turned me off and I will never touch TLoU Part 2 garbage. It's clear that PS is having trouble putting games out. Nothing but remasters upon remasters. Two TLoU remasters already? More PS4 remasters like Until Dawn? What happened to Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Gravity Rush, Playstation Allstars, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet etc.? Why are these Franchises dead? Oh yeah, those aren't blockbuster titles and current PS wants to be known for its Blockbuster titles. I just want the old PS back is all.
@@SalaX13I feel the same way lol. I should’ve honestly kept my Series X instead of selling it for a PS5 because I’m still playing the exact same games once I’m done with all of Sonys exclusives.
Really interesting to hear your take on this, was super informative and non biased. Can appreciate it in this day and age. Gamepass and Quick Resume are honestly underrated at this point.
it does seem like they are so disconnected from the consumer base that they serve that they cannot see a clear W even if it were right in front of them and somehow stumble into Ls over and over again.
i had the same experience when i got a one x after dropping sony, which then pushed me into pc, but that one x and the 60fps on so many games to a peasant console gamer like me was game changing.
I have a $2200 gaming pc thats about a year old, I still fire up the xbox and ps5 more than my PC. I grew up in the console age and there us something comfortable about sitting on the couch and playing some split screen Borderlands with the lady.
Buy one in a smaller form factor and then connect it to your TV. I cannot go back to gaming on consoles after seeing how much smoother a God Tier PC is on the TV. But it's all up to you. PC can truly be the 1 stop shop you're looking for if you dont mind moving it around (or having 2 if you can afford - 1 for gaming, 1 for daily use)
I was already planning on getting a series X, but this sold me. I am more than excited to get one. I have a somewhat decent PC that is BEAT by this console. I’m so ready to get back into Xbox. It’s been 20 years since I’ve owned one!
Finally, one reasonable pc gamer on the internet. Also put in mind that most people on xbox bought the series S. Money is always a huge factor. Not everyone who likes to play games can afford thousands of dollars.
Series S is a disgrace and is actively holding back game development. It's too weak. If Microsoft was smart they would've just made a discless version with the same specs like Sony did. They thought their cheap Series S was going to make them the next Netflix but they've now learned that isn't going to happen.
@@Phil_529 idk what are you smoking dude. Series S is the higher selling console from this xbox generation. Console gamers aren't as fixated on performance as pc gamers. If they were, the series S would have flopped.
This was an incredible video with extremely well articulated points and no hyperbolic statements. Good to see something pro Xbox on the internet for once, also, while highlighting potential future issues.
I can relate to you my friend. lol I see myself jumping in between Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation consoles and find myself on PC sometimes. To be honest, I wanna try all of them. I don't wanna restrict myself to one platform. The only thing really that annoys me are the game exclusives. Oh, well. When, I was a kid I game a lot on Nintendo systems. As I got older, I went from that to PC gaming. I guess it's an acquired taste that has to do with time and maturing interests. I'm still a Nintendo kid at heart but I wanna game on other platforms and discover new things because of my curiosity.
As someone with PC and Xbox I game almost exclusively on my Series X. You can tell me all day how much better a PC is and it's ok for you to be wrong. Great video :)
The Series X is my first Xbox ever, and I couldn't be happier with it. I grew up on Nintendo consoles (and still love them), and I find my current setup with Series X, Switch and Steam Deck to be perfect for me, as I don't care about the "cinematic" Sony games, and even less about their current GaaS push. Oh and the backwards compatibility is awesome, I finally got to play so many games I always wanted like Timesplitters 2 and PJ's King Kong, and replayed childhood favourites like Banjo Kazooie.
Coming from ps4, I have had such a great time on my series S and will always say, it is such a bargain for price point and just catching up on the many games ive missed from past gen! Even now playing blops 6 on gamepass has been so good 😊
Unfortunately, Xbox discontinued adding more older games to the Xbox One/Series S/Series X backwards compatibility due to companies not willing to put the effort to add their games. This was announced last year.
I wish this video ended up on top of Xbox corporates desk, and theyd give AF. You made many great points about "ownership of games". This whole live service climate we find ourselves in sucks. Im actually thinking of switching over to Nintendo completely.
Specially the last part of the video is spot on, but mostly recognized by older gamers. It's sad, but you can see the market shifted to 'rent a game' instead of ownership.
Weird thing, a manager at my local gamestop is a pc gamer! She literally went to Xbox series X immediately. She told me she got tired of dealing with issues on pc! As a console player, most of my life, I wanted to go pc. For the stories I heard, it seems like a headache, but I don't know.
@@Jinkyuu1999Only time I’ve had problems when playing a game in pc is when I was modding it, otherwise no errors ever I don’t know how so many people manage to have issues while launching a vanilla pc game
what nonsense. I play on consoles and PC. The PC is always the first choice! Runs better, quieter and I can buy games without DRM and archive them myself. I only use the XBOX for backwards compatibility. If it doesn't work on the Series, I play it on the XBox 360 and if it doesn't work on that, then on the Classic

Thanks for the video. I got lucky during the pandemic and managed to get a Series X. I was really stoked about it considering it's specs. I still enjoy playing it and I'm very impressed with the library. I had an original Xbox back in 2002 and it's fun to pop in some of my old games and play those on the new hardware.
Funny enough, my friend and I who in the last couple of years bought higher end PC’s were just talking about this recently. We both have Xbox Series X’s and have been on consoles prior. We both agreed that the simple nature of use and practicality over PC’s is superior. The fact that a console is truly plug and play without really any worries of software issues/updates, game launchers, accessory malfunction, graphic setting adjustments etcetera, are some of the reasons why. You can play on any type of chair, any tv or monitor, and split screen with friends. I find my $2k PC build less appealing than the XSX if I’m being honest with myself after a couple of years.
A computer can be used in many different ways. You can use it for work, image editing, modding and gaming. You have absolute freedom when it comes to purchased games. You can also use your PC like an Xbox with the XBOX controller. My PC only has 1500 (four years ago) but I can play every game at maximum and on native UHD.
> The fact that a console is truly plug and play without really any worries of software issues/updates, game launchers, accessory malfunction, graphic setting adjustments etcetera, are some of the reasons why. Every console and console game has software updates now? What you playing on? The NES?
PC also lets you play on any type of chair, any tv or montior and do split screen with friends. You own an $2k pc, you don't have to worry about micro-adjusting game settings or anything.
if online was free I would 100% get an xbox, I don't play enough to justify paying for online and I'm just kinda against having to pay for it when I already pay for wifi and it's free on pc so I ended up getting a steam deck oled which also has quick resume
Cheap stake Bru' you need security to play online that's why I prefer Xbox to play online I have a pc but it's fiddly and the oled screen is too small you get what you pay for
well said, i've had a ton of fun with my series X. kicking back on the couch is great, and the back-compat library is great. quick resume is killer. keep an eye out for the titles that transfer to PC. Microsoft needs to build the play anywhere title library.
As much as I appreciate your commentary, I have to disagree with you on one thing: Exclusives DO sell consoles. One reason Xbox sales are down is because they put all their exclusives on Game Pass on day one, meaning PC gamers can play on day one, minimizing any reason to get an Xbox. Playstation doesn't do that, increasing incentive to get one. Other than that, *LOVE* your video! Keep 'em coming!
Maybe I didn't come across as I intended to, my intention was to confirm what the poll data indicates, which is in agreement to what you said, that exclusives are the biggest system sellers. I can see how me saying that exclusives were never really XBOX's strength (at least intentionally) can be interpreted as a rebuttal of that. I think XBOX got really lucky with Halo, their only true system seller ever. Aside from that, XBOX has been touting power and being the best multiplatform console since day one (except for XBOX one until they came up with One X) which is likely the true reason they don't sell as many systems as their competitors.
This video is absolutely brilliant!! I just spent the last 3 hours cloud playing XBOX 360!!! titles from my android on my beds. Xbox needs to take a step back and make their services useful for the greater PC audience.
Solid video. I mainly play on PC but I want to get a PS5 Pro then eventually a XSX. I like to get a lot of games physically. I still need to figure out which games I can actually play without online requirements. I know a lot on PS4 you just download from the disc.
It’s nice to see a Xbox centric video that has nothing to do with console wars, or rage bait. I own all 3 consoles and a pretty powerful gaming PC, and no one seems to understand why I don’t just play exclusively on PC. I grew up on consoles, and I’m just a lot more comfortable on them. My PC is great, but I don’t really like sitting at my desk to game. I can hook it up to my TV but it’s just enough of a pain to make me just want to plop down and boot up my PS or Xbox instead. I thought I was the only weirdo who owned both an Xbox and PC.
The Series X defines underrated consoles. It's not the best platform, but it handles 7th generation games perfectly and it's a very solid for modern games. But I'm also a huge Gears guy
I love how well it handles emulation. Its fun bringing it over to friends & sometimes playing old games we grew up on together. I have them all set up and ready on a external drive. I even have a couple 8bitdo wireless arcade sticks. They go on sale sometimes, usually 70-80. But last year I bought 2 for 50 each
Oh yeah emulation on dev mode is out of this world. I didn't include it in this video because it was getting really long as it is, but I think I'm going to revisit the console just for that because you're right, it's just so much fun and it's SO good at it.
If Microsoft could somehow shift towards being fully functional offline (no online DRM) that just might push a small stone over the snowy mountain top. I am currently in a love-hate relationship with SeriesX and frankly I am rooting for Valve to make that “living room pc” instead.
I mean, you can't have an informed conversation about online DRM on the Xbox without delving into the weeds. So, which specific kinds of online checks, matters to the topic. [*] "Requires Internet" printed on the box for e.g. Battlefield 2042 -- that's game-specific. [*] Network required for console initial setup or factory reset -- yes this is DRM that absolutely needs to go. [*] Online connection to sync game data when you start it up -- this is to copy down your save file from the cloud. This is a bonus/convenience feature. A fully offline console can still play and store game progress. [*] Online connection to copy or play a game from a removable drive on another console -- this is a measure to stop very easy piracy. Otherwise you could copy your game to a thumb drive, pop it out pop another one in and copy again. Then just send them to a bunch of friends. [*] Online connection to copy or play a disc-installed game on another console -- this is DRM that needs to go. The above reason makes sense for fully digital games, since your MS account stores the license. For games installations that originated from disc, the disc holds the license so this requirement shouldn't be there for disc games. MS went with a heavy-handed approach here instead of a sensible nuanced one. So the only DRM checks that are an actual problem, are console setup and transferring games installed from disc. Unless I'm missing something, everything else has a reasonable explanation.
I like how this came up in my recommended after the recent drama of xbox. Even still, always will be an xbox fan. I haven't had any complaints about my series x and have had it since 2021. Love xbox!

They've been forgetting how to make AAA games! Since the OG Xbox, they've only had Halo and a few others on their belt…It’s just been a box for other third-party studios to abuse.
They are currently the publisher who is investing more on AAA games than the others... Next year they are releasing Avowed, Fable, South of Midnight (and multiplatform games on Game Pass like Doom The Dark Ages). I don't think that's the problem anymore.
Great video! As someone who used to primarily play on PC back in the day, I can definitely agree with everything you said! I actually own two Series X consoles because I love them so much! I also love remote play and use it a lot to play games on my Logitech G Cloud when I just want to chill somewhere away from the couch.
I've been looking at the xbox 360 and xbox one for a couple of years now as a pc only poweruser i do have to agree with you and the mouse and keyboard implementation is a very very welcomed addition to it, but there is 1 big big problem for me and that is the membership that you have to pay for online play, if microsoft removes the pay to play online feature i will definitely buy an xbox.
Its not only online what people pay for. They get game cathalogue to play with the monthly price, cloud gaming so u save space from your hardrive, discounts and other benefits. Single player games u own u can play offline. U can actually get Gamepass Core pretty cheap for the year in 3rd party internet sellers. I dont think 40 or 50€ in a year will affect your wallet much.
Thanks for the video . Been an avid PC gamer for well my whole life aside from a PS2 & PS3 era, where i played PC on the side. We recenty got an Xbox to replace our old PS3 and upgrading from pc gamepass to ultimate, it is amazing. Funny thinking my PC while being pretty average cost at least twice the price of a Series X. It is smaller and as you mention so quiet as well and yet can run some titles even at 4k 60fps. Apart from some titles i definetely see my self move away from PC more to go over to Xbox. Very nice system.
Yes about that Call of Duty 2 you mentioned. Like come on Microsoft you own Activision which makes you own Raven Software...please bring backwards compatibility for their 2009 Wolfenstein game from the 360. That game has become abandonware and it's a real shame.. but they own it
I have a medium-lower end PC, I don't like messing up with upgrading it nor am I will to bank out 500 bucks just to rise definition a little bit, and that's the reason I got a SX last year and I don't regret it a bit. Game Pass is absolutely great but there's also so much more to it if you enjoy retro collecting, or a lot of older XBLA games,or like mentioned on the video, not messing around with tweaking settings. I actually change a lot between my PS4, PC and SC.
I have the series s and a steam deck, the things i buy works and syncs the progress with play anywhere games. And with the steam I can play a big catalog of pc games and use it like a pc with windows I think is the best combo you can have for 600€ the series s it's so cheap and the steam deck you can find it for 300€ in second hand market. And more easy to move with it than a PC or a +900€ decent enormous gaming "laptop" (that you need everytime the charger for everything) Xbox doesn't have a big roster of exclusives to make you buy the console only for that, but i don't care having a enormous catalog of various gens and having emulators with the dev mode (working better than ps5) idk exclusives aren't that important for me and some exclusives being on pc and more will arrive soon that i can play on the steam deck
I sold my Xbox S|X to build a Pc, and yet I’ve recently got given a Xbox One X (not the S|X) and honestly haven’t put the controller down. I love PC gaming, sure, but the ease of use the Xbox is - it’s so good.
I know very well what it feels like. I've been playing only on my 360 E so far - due to my backlog and the fact that 11 games are not included in the "Backwards Compatibility Programme", that is they can't be played on either One or Series... yeah, I'm a completionist - and I'm still saving money for a Series X. Perhaps, I'll be able to afford one in two months, when Black Friday comes - perhaps it will be sold again at 349,99 Euros as the last year?
Upgrade to an Xbox one, i see them at second hand gaming stores for like $80. You get everything from your 360 plus a lot of modern games like Elden Ring (that’s probably the only thing you’ve been missing out on)
Great video. I bought a series X earlier this year and besides being a serial hobbyist, I haven’t played it a whole lot. I also own an Nvidia Shield Tv and have been playing games most of most games there outside of sports games and a few that are not available on GeForce now. Lately I have been questioning my series x purchase and its purpose. I have never owned a PlayStation console but was considering purchasing one but there was a crazy sale on the series X and I had an Xbox one so I was already invested in the ecosystem. Backwards compatibility (games and controllers) quick resume, gamepass, more raw power, Pc compatibility were all the same reasons I made the investment. This video literally made me pull the dust cover off the Xbox series x and fire it up. I do feel like GeForce now and my shield tv are my go to’s due to steam having better sales but the series x is a great console
Xbox should first and foremost prioritize the console. Maybe make the new exclusives console only for like 6 months to a year. It ain’t nice but it might work
Wonderful video, thank you for your work! Love my Series X. In reaction to your video i changed my Gamepass subscription from Ultimate to Core (for online gaming purposes). Also, I'll buy (even more) of my games in physical form.
People talk so much crap about Xbox, but the thing is, Xbox is actually a very awesome system!!! Some of my most favorite and beloved games from the past, look and play better on Xbox and some of my most favorite and beloved games of today, play, and look better on Xbox!!! Games like red, dead redemption 2, the Witcher three anybody??? it looks better and it plays better on the Xbox and I have it on PS five because I listened to dumb journalist and reviewers. Who gave the PS five version "added points." Just because they are biased little liars.... Thank you, sir for being honest !!! (it really does mean a lot more to people like myself than somebody regurgitating the same things that 10 million other people are regurgitating!?)
Thanks for this Video. Don't own a console but this reminded me why I loved them. It was not about exclusives it was about bang for your buck and a hassle free gaming experience. I love my PC but with it there is always a better component on the horizon.
The Xbox always Online DRM is a monstrosity, I agree with everything you said about Xbox. I prefer it over the PlayStation but games skipping the console is very disheartening.
Xbox doesn't have _always_ online DRM. It does have online checks for certain things but always online DRM is a phrase that described how the Xbone was going to do things and is most certainly not how the Series consoles handles it.
Sold my gaming pc end of last year. Bought a very nice lumix camera and a series x last week. To be honest I wanted to build a pc but this is perfect for me.
I'm curious what you got tired of!? I always hear how pc is so great but I want to ask with someone with experience with it. How was it with pc gaming?
@@Jinkyuu1999 when it works, it’s great but some games are a pain to get running and you end up spending a lot of time in forums trying different things to get the game to work. I lost patience for it. Plus now the gap between console and PC is way smaller than it used to be
@PureEvil1138 It's honestly crazy that are still videos praising pc gaming while not addressing the negatives of it! I wanted to go to pc gaming for customization, but it was a cost of a headache, hmm! Anyways I'm still on the fence on it!
@@Jinkyuu1999 I mean, 90 to 95% of the time it’s fine but it’s that five or 10% of games that are pain to get running. Usually new games run pretty well. I would run into issues trying to get older games to work on Windows 10.
@@Jinkyuu1999 In Europe there is a lot of PC gaming. I built my PC and I never have a problem with it. You don't pay for online gaming either! You can adjust the hardware at any time.
Same. I've been exclusively on PC and Switch since the almost-end of the Xbone days and recently picked up a series X for a deal after selling my Switch, and I haven't touched my PC in over a month aside from weekly game nights with the boys in discord. The system is amazing, gamepass is amazing, the Xbox brand (as someone else stated) is seriously misunderstood. There's still some games i'll only play on PC, mainly games you can't get on Xbox but man.. This system kicks so much ass.
That’s wild. Only thing I use my Series X right now for is CFB 25. And that’s only because they didn’t put it on PC. GTA 6 is another good reason. Otherwise it’s kinda useless lol
I fall into a rare camp of people that while I do use a high end PC for gaming, I would take a weaker PC over a console, and it's because of the sheer amount of choice I have in fine tuning game settings, frame rate, fixing things the Devs will never fix, or without waiting/hoping they address. Even removing effects I don't like (talking to you Chromatic aberration, vignette, and some others), adding mods, adjusting FOV, rebinding inputs to any input method, and many more reasons. I started PC more than 35 years ago as a little kid, and I can't go to such a locked setup, and it's the same reason why I'm not big on Apple products. I have nothing against them, and I keep up on all of the tech in the consoles, and Apple products, but they're not for me. Another HUGE benefit is I can always bring my 20 year old game to the new hardware, and crank the settings, without hoping it's on back compatibility, and half of the time someone has updated the game with mods. There are a lot of indie and PC only games I would miss. I think many people shouldn't go near PC, unless they're willing to learn things about it, to get the extra benefits, and not annoy their one computer savvy friend. I do think the Series X is an incredible piece of tech for a tiny console.
I grew up on the 360, back in the OG COD days, or the “golden era” as we like to call it. Life got complicated and I ended up stopping gaming for around 9 years until last year I thought “damn I really miss the Xbox days” and started watching gaming related videos. A month or two later my wife surprised me with a series X for my 28th birthday. Backwards compatibility & Gamepass means I have been able to replay all the games I loved as a kid (Gear of War, Halo, OG COD, GTA IV, Fallout, Skyrim) and more. Even got to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time recently which was amazing. I enjoy playing my series X as much now as a 28 year old husband/father as I did playing my 360 as a kid.
I'm having a very similar situation with the series X, been a PC player since the end of the ps3 era. Skipped the ps4 entirely and finally bought a series X not long after the gta 6 announcement...I'm finding myself playing a lot more with the Xbox than I originally through I would! It's a great system, I love it. I'm buying dirt cheap og xbox, xbox 360 and xbox one physical games for it too. Hyped for stalker 2 too I pre-ordered the physical collector version of the Xbox version, I am currently playing Clear Sky on it and am having a blast
Yup, i agree with this and it is the reason why i own series X. It's great, period. People who keep hating on consoles and Xbox especially, should watch this video (I'm looking at you Asmonbald)
There is no reason to own an xbox anymore. Xbox themselves have been telling us for the better part of a decade to stop buying their hardware and software and instead, get it on gamepass....so i did. Lol im perfectly happy getting everything xbox has to offer, just a better experience on my PC.
I agree soo much the Xbox Series X is Starting to become my Favourite Console (as an Ex PlayStation Fan) in my opinion for a lot of Reasons but most Simple Features are the Backwards Compability because ya can play some Games from Previous Consoles (AVP 2010, Kotor 1, 2 and Jade Empire to Mention some) and Also Because the Xbox Has a Disc Collector (where ya can play Discs).
Consoles are too boring for me. I just sold my consoles because I never touch them, knowing all the exclusives come to pc eventually (except Bloodborne, ugh..). I've had a computer for over 30 years now, I love all the tinkering, better graphics and better framerate etc. I have it hooked up to a monitor and a tv, so if I want to chill I just lay on the sofa with a controller. And emulation is better on a pc, even Xbox 360. So I see no reason for a console.
Awesome! Glad you enjoy it. I ADORE my PS5 for so many reasons that i find Xbox lacking in. However, im looking forward to dusting off my Series X in 2025 as some pretty good games are coming out.
Im sorry my guy but this is just a documented L. You already have a PC to play these games with gamepass pc. You let some dude swindle you for a 4070 with a Series X. That guy was laughing all the way home after that transaction. He knows that X aint worth anything. Only silver lining is you got a GTA6 player day 1 but by then the X may be way cheaper.
I’ve been mass buying used Xbox Enhanced titles for less than $10 each. Series X is frequently $350 on sale. Xbox is insane value.
I often hear people saying that console games are more expensive but after getting some great deals on used discs and catching games on seasonal sales I think that's a hangover from past generations. Games go suuuper cheap in Microsoft's digital xbox store.
@@cantgamerightthis exactly.
Now Xbox has a lot of the same or similar sales to Steam Sales. Ive gotten a ton of older AAA titles on Xbox for under $10. The whole "Steam games are so much cheaper" is left over from 10 years ago when that was true. Its not like that anymore
Can you give us some recommendations please?

And made me realize that games can be big asf.
Game Pass was the reason I bought an Xbox Series X (I have all the PlayStations except for the PS5). and 1.5 years in I have completed games worth $4000, and I bought 3 years of GamePass for $100, it's been an great investment!

good way to stay dependent on a service congrats
Best console simply for the fact that I can play the majority of my Xbox 360 collection that I’ve built over the years, upscaled aswell
@@metaldiceman I love that I can switch back to a previous game weeks later and instantly continue right from where I left off without loading in
Quick resume is amazing. Emulation is also amazing. Playing gow 4k60, or Mario bros, pokemon coloseum. Having a browser is amazing 😂 xbox is a way better day to day console. Ps5 is nice to go through a campaign, play 1 game at a time but that's about it.
Unless you've a budget gaming pc the difference in quality and performance is night and day.
If you switching from 5 games you probably ain’t finishing no games 😂
I’m so glad someone finally put into words the reasons I love Xbox as a PC gamer. While I love modding old PC games and troubleshooting problems, most of the time I just wanna relax, press a button, and play a game. Xbox is also one of the main ways I use UA-cam & streaming services.
Play Anywhere is a game changer. I've got both 9th Gen consoles on my upstairs TV and my gaming PC in my home office. I lean towards Xbox often for 3rd party releases and pretty much only play PS5 exclusives on the PS5.
Exactly. I have a ps5 and switch for exclusives. Xbox for everything else, including streaming, watching Blu rays.
Same! i work from home and i just can't stand sitting on my PC at night. also gamepass is huge for me because i love playing games day one
Same man! I sit on a windows pc all day at the office. Last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of one again when I got home. Sold my gaming PC and now have a XSX and PS5. No regrets
You completlely described my situation and that's why I got the XSX two month ago. No regrets.
Xbox exclusives are better too! At least for the ones who like gameplay, not an interactive movie
True physical media needs to return. Nintendo cannot be the only one keeping ownership alive.

I will keep rewinding the max payne 2 unboxing section for the pure ASMR
I've got just the thing for you tommy, hold up a minute.
Obviously there's bad toxicity in every online community but for the most part the people I've met have been cool

Exactly the same for me! Started on ps2, then moved to original Xbox then 360, been hooked on Xbox ever since!

You were never a PlayStation gamer, if you had no interest in the PS5
@nicekix3038 Why is that hard to believe? I'm actually in the same boat. I was a PS fanboy up until the end of the PS4 generation. I used to hate XBox until I got my hands on an XBox One X. PS5 is not doing anything for me and it's most certainly not giving me an incentive to pick one up.

it does seem like they are so disconnected from the consumer base that they serve that they cannot see a clear W even if it were right in front of them and somehow stumble into Ls over and over again.

Unfortunately, Xbox discontinued adding more older games to the Xbox One/Series S/Series X backwards compatibility due to companies not willing to put the effort to add their games. This was announced last year.
Except they own Activision now... where the f@*& is my Spyro games?! :)
They said they are going back to adding xbox 360 games again. Probably because of the activision deal
Nope. They just put doom 1 and 2 and 3 bandicoot games. I heard something about that but maybe its just not true
I haven't watched this video yet, but Series X and Gamepass brought me back to gaming after so many years.
PC gamers just don’t know how cool push one button and play. As a PC gamer I worked at video game store and was shocked how it works. Really enjoyed.
@gaelbarragan3579 I guess they cheap out on Ram or Motherboard, but yeah!
what nonsense.
@@DerDrAndroid What nonsense? About what?
completely agree. I havent even touched my series x or PC since I got my PS5 and i think thats gonna become more frequent with the PS5 pro coming out soon. cant believe im gaming with the best console ever made.
The Xbox series X is the perfect PC companion! I swear! This thing has amazing specs too! I love my Xbox series X!
There's so much overlap. Switch and PS5 are better companions
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e yes, but when you have to pay $10 for PSN just to play online it’s not ideal while also owning a gaming pc when I could just pay for a sub that covers both pc and console.
@@ChrisL-d4c if you don’t intend to use GamePass and play games like Forza, COD, Gears etc or would rather pay $70 on steam then maybe a PS5 makes sense. As a PC companion, X is better
@@ChrisL-d4c alot of games that I buy on my Xbox I can just use on my PC I don't need to buy them twice, it's overall a better platform, on PS5 you have to buy on PlayStation and buy on PC plus account log ins are easy, Microsoft is naturally on the PC everywhere, PlayStation is not, it's Soo much better on the Xbox man.
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e the backcompat library is stronger than the ps5 exlcusives, and the switch can't play modern titles. especially not in 4k.
Your video should be a must see for all console warrior and gamers in general.
Great video.
if online was free I would 100% get an xbox, I don't play enough to justify paying for online and I'm just kinda against having to pay for it when I already pay for wifi and it's free on pc so I ended up getting a steam deck oled which also has quick resume
@@cantgameright I don't think you can really say that, I think Gears (of War) sold quite a lot of people on getting 360's.
The big red one… also the first one to introduce multiplayer… I love to go back and replay that
This video is absolutely brilliant!!
Ps5 pro right now is 700, I say just get a Xbox series X 💀
Great video. Play Anywhere is such an underrated feature!
I'm playing Riddick on my 360 lately. So good.
I like how this came up in my recommended after the recent drama of xbox. Even still, always will be an xbox fan. I haven't had any complaints about my series x and have had it since 2021. Love xbox!
The big problem with the Series X is the SSD not being replacable without cloning the original SSD.
And you can't even move saves to a usb drive on a xbox.
@@robbyjvc I didn't know that. That sucks.

I have older 1080p TV and I would love to buy this console. Blu-ray discs, UA-cam and web browser. AND NEW AND OLD GAMES. This really is more like a living room PC.
Dude. I just love my series x. Only downside is paying to play online. But the rest is amazing
@@TheACcam yeah it's a stupid typo. I always try to do that but end up converting to money and get new games at the store instead hahah

I do absolutely love my Series X. I just built a PC and hands down the feature I miss the most is quick resume!!!
On the hardware side Xbox has done everything you would expect for a win. But suddenly Xbox forgot how to make hit AAA games. What happened
Sweet Baby Inc happened.
@@dillanikobe495last true huge AAA games since Halo was gears and Forza. Nothing in the last 10 yeaes

They’ll never remove pay to play online for paid games but free to play games do not require Xbox Live Gold to play online
@@Zilla117 i know, but i don't tend to buy xbox one to play free to play games only.
And with the steam I can play a big catalog of pc games and use it like a pc with windows
I think is the best combo you can have for 600€ the series s it's so cheap and the steam deck you can find it for 300€ in second hand market. And more easy to move with it than a PC or a +900€ decent enormous gaming "laptop" (that you need everytime the charger for everything)
Xbox doesn't have a big roster of exclusives to make you buy the console only for that, but i don't care having a enormous catalog of various gens and having emulators with the dev mode (working better than ps5) idk exclusives aren't that important for me and some exclusives being on pc and more will arrive soon that i can play on the steam deck
I sold my Xbox S|X to build a Pc, and yet I’ve recently got given a Xbox One X (not the S|X) and honestly haven’t put the controller down. I love PC gaming, sure, but the ease of use the Xbox is - it’s so good.
I just have a 360. Call me a boomer but I like physical games with manuals.
Am I missing out?
Core is what I have too. Lots of games get a very tasteful discount with that service so I think it's the best of both worlds.

There are many games skipping PlayStation too, like Stalker 2, Ark survival 2, Palworld aren't on PS yet, etc
Sold my gaming pc end of last year. Bought a very nice lumix camera and a series x last week. To be honest I wanted to build a pc but this is perfect for me.

I can't wait to buy one. I've gone too long without gaming. Gaming is A healer
Happened the same thing to me with the PS5. Consoles are really cool.
My brother has a PS5, it's a terrific games system too. I'm praying for them to bring back Killzone that was such a fun shooter series.
You make a good point, if one has the time and know-how for that kind of thing, it’s a solid choice
