Was a terrible decision to not have the inclusion of smooth turning and locomotion movement for psvr2, this alone steers away extent of users and hope they at least correct this with patching them back in, a fundamental thing and should be option.
It seems like some of these game designers even though intelligent enough to produce games don’t seem to have any common sense - I guess it’s because they want to produce games as quickly as possible as time is money and don’t really give an afterthought to these important issues . Cheers
@@paulnicolas172 Perhaps in trying to have a simultaneously release as the same day with quest they needed yet didn’t get the chance and extra time to implement the movement features, but hope they hear some whom speak up about and at least add later
Unfortunately looking at upload showcase it shows us theres going to be an influx of these AR/MR/VR standalone games for the next two years, hopefully one in ten may be good.
Yeah a lot of the investment that had been going into VR games and software is now going into MR, which is still in its infancy. There's gonna be a lot of shallow tech-demo style MR games with tacked on VR modes in the next couple years I think.
Thanks for the very honest review - especially as there are some you tubers out there claiming this is INCREDIBLE or the best puzzle game ever. I was suspicious though as there are also some very low scores cos of movement / dull gameplay - as you pointed out. Really interesting to see the 2 versions compared - have subscribed 👍
Just another mehh game… im just patiently waiting for the vr market to blow up but sometimes it feels like it never will which is a real shame because vr gaming is truly next level.. its amazing
I was sort of intrigued by the concept of this game, but it seems like the execution is pretty lacking. The boring puzzles alone would kill it for me, but the fact that the VR mode (at least on PSVR 2) was clearly an undercooked afterthought is pretty brutal. They should've used eye-tracking to make node selection more reliable, and the lack of at least smooth turning (if not full locomotion) is inexcusable imo.
You absolutely dumped on this game being tediuous, but then you said it was $13 which for a puzzling places type experience is actually pretty good value, but that didn't seem to matter to you very much since it was kind of only a passing comment. And then at the end you gave it a 6.5 which was a lot higher than I expected from the way you were ripping the game all the way through. So I guess.... "task failed successfully"?
Ha ha, sorry about that. Like I said, it's not a bad game and I suspect newbies to vr or fans of more simple experience will love this, but i think those who have been immersed in vr for years might be much less impressed. I also aknowledge that some people don't mind the limited locomotion stuff as vr can make them sick. Its not a bad game, it's just not anything special. I hope that clears up my score a bit
If the market isn't there, you can't blame devs for not spending the money to port stuff. Especially for VR development, which tends to be smaller teams. Making the economics of it work out isn't an easy task. Blame Sony instead for doing the absolute bare minimum they could with their VR platform. If they don't even invest into it themselves with marketing, etc, why would small dev teams bother?
@@Cimlite PC VR does not exist, no one is playing in VR on PC, no one ever. PSVR2 has more active users than PCVR. PC People are poor, they don't buy VR games. After paying 4x more for inferior performances than consoles, they no longer have money for games.
@@MarquisDeSang Look, I'm usually in the camp of "PC VR isn't as important as they think they are" but you're way off here. The active userbase on Steam in a given month is greater than even the most generous estimates of total lifetime sales of PSVR 2. So even if every PSVR 2 owner was using their headset every month (and many are not), that still wouldn't be as many users as VR players on Steam alone. As for Cyan, they're porting Firmament to PSVR 2. If that sells well enough, I'd bet Riven would follow. Hopefully Myst as well.
Garbage and dull games like this are Meta's fault. VR is degrading so much thanks to this company. We've seen this in UPLOAD VR'S 2024's showcase. We need PC VR and Sony to step up and raise the bar for VR. Cuz Meta only cares about money, about quantity. They even are going to release a cheaper and poorer hardware than the Quest 3 instead of doing a decent, better one. Meta is a cancer to VR. Staggering, halting , making VR look like an oasis of children oriented apps. Fomenting lame and small developers instead of engaging with AAA studios to bring memorable games to the platform. Making VR more accessible is not enough Meta, cuz, when people get into it and play those lame experiences, that's when they turn back and say.. VR is really a bullshit.
You couldn't be more off on this, and you act like Meta developed this game lol! VR isn't pulling the best devs because it isn't the best market. You think gatekeeping VR to having to shell out $1000+ is going to grow the market? You aren't gonna get big budget games when there is no one to sell to! And if higher end VR was the solution, then what's stopping PCVR and Sony from doing it and being successful?! PCVR market is degrading and Sony has admitted that PSVR 2 is performing terribly, and they are supporting it less and less already. If what you said was true, those markets would be thriving right now. You need to first make it affordable and get people to buy into using it. Then you specialize into higher tier after. That is why inferior game consoles perform so well while PC struggles often.

Welcome to 2016-17 PCVR when VR devs were experimenting with room-scale gaming. 90% of them were just gimmicky tech demos.
A game that okay plays better on the quest 3 than psvr2 is unusual - seems cool to be able solve a puzzle by walking round your room .
