- Sweet spot keeper
On stock PSVR 2, the sweet spot is not easy to keep because stock pads are made from slicky/smooth silicon, and the front is heavier than the back, so tends to slip down. The CMP2 mod fixes this by applying an anti-slip rear pad which is much bigger and provides more grip, also a top strap is offered to help pull the front and prevent it from slipping down.
Forehead pressure relief, weight balance/distribution
Stock PSVR 2 does not have a top strap as Quest 2/Valve Index/Pico 4, all weights are mainly on the forehead, to keep the sweet spot and the whole headset stable, the tightness/pressure(adjusted by the knob on the rear band) needs to be very big, and because the stock forehead pads are silicon + hard plastic, it causes pain on the forehead for long sessions. The Globular Cluster CMP2 provides a padded top strap, which distributes some weight from the forehead to the top of the head, and helps stop the forehead from slipping down, so forehead pressure/tightness needed for stability is reduced largely. What's more, soft forehead pads are provided in the mod which are more comfortable.
Sweat/hot solution
In summer season/fitness gaming, many users sweat a lot in VR, the stock forehead pad is made from silicon, which is not sweat absorbing, sweat may flow into the body of the PSVR 2. The Globular Cluster CMP2 provides 3 different material forehead pads, two of which are sweat absorbing and washable, the left is sweat proof which is easy to clean. Fit different situations /seasons/user preferences. Besides, a cooling gel layer is added to the breathable fabric pads and the PU pads, expected to be better for heat dispersion compared to PU pads from other brands

I love mine.. As Ned Flanders once said.. "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all"
I got mine! Night & day
Game changer for me so happy my wife got it me for crimbo 😊
Fantastic present to get!
Awesome review! Mine is here I’ll put it on tomorrow.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy yours
Was pondering on ordering this! Great video mate, you convinced me.
Glad I could help!
Awsome review. You got my sub. I ordered one immediatly, i play Gran Turismo 80% of my VR gaming, and 100% i experience the slip, unless i have it on Too tight, which is too tight, and the headset hurts the bridge of my nose... this simple fact keeps me from playing as much as id like... THANKS GAME ON! i hope they sponaor you.... anyone else buy one cause of this review?
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you found the video useful and that it will hopefully allow you to enjoy Gran Turismo more and for longer!
Sadly small channels like mine don't get sponsorships, the best we can hope for are affiliate links to help support the channel (like the affiliate link for this product)
@@GameOnScorpio heck yeah man
Great review! Thanks 🙏
Thank you! I hope you found it helpful!
I've just bought this product and whilst in the past I have tried many other comfort kits.. this is the best so far.. I found it making wearing the PSVR2 a joy and it made the sweet spot easy to find and maintain.. great product and well made
That's awesome to hear. Which are your favourite pads to use at the moment?
Agree. It’s an absolute MUST. Love mine!
Fantastic news!
I bought Globular Cluster Kit for my Quest Pro and it is much more comfortable than the stock. I am sure this will be worth it as well. But, I don’t have any issues with my PSVR2 due to wearing a beanie cap when I play. So I have no need for this one. I do need some new lenses for my PSVR2 those lenses they use suck big time.
Thanks for the review. The constant slip is frustrating, and I can get a bit of a headache from more active games with the original strap.
You're very welcome! I hope you found it useful.
The PSVR2 gives me headaches too. The back part just digs into my neck muscles and cuts off blood flow. Absolutely horribly designed head strap. Worst Halo on the market, which is crazy because the PSVR1 was super comfy.
I need to get one of these globular clusters.
@@JimmyNuisance well hopefully if you do get one it improves things for you. If youy do deside to get one, consider supporting the channel and using my affiliate link in the description.
Like others this was a game changer for me. The padding on the PSVR 1 was excellent. The only problem was is that it started to degrade over time. The padding of the PSVR 2 is more durable but has no give making it far less comfortable for me. The Globular Cluster Kit makes the PSVR 2 even more comfortable than the PSVR 1.
A major added bonus is the Kit keeps the PSVR 2 in the sweet spot far better. Rarely have to adjust the headset anymore.
Glad you're enjoying it also!
I'd love to hear which padding you use out of them or do you swap depending on the game etc?
Yep, not cheap, but worth every penny.
I got it it would be perfect if it has some sorta nose cushion I have a big honker and and hurts the bridge of my nose after an hour of playing still but globular great for not sagging , and the instructions that came with it stunk but the company does have a youtube video for it and thats helpful
Here's a subscribe 🎉
Hey I have this product and I love it. My buddy just came in from out of town and had never tried VR before so I let him have a whirl and his sweaty ass made my cooling gel forehead plate pretty gross. On the website it lists the fabric one and the cooling gel ones as "washable" but it doesn't clarify if there's a specific way to go about washing it. Have you had to deal with this yet and if so how did you go about taking care of the yuck without ruining the plushness of the cushions inside.
Recommend a "Buff" for sweaty.. or any friends. Cheap. Washable. Reusable.
I haven't had this issue but would assume a simple hand wash with warm soapy water...
Probably best to contact the supplier though incase you're worried.
Wash buy hand, warm water, hand soap
No issues with the back cup pad hitting your glasses arms ? I find that the stock one can touch the back of my glasses at times but it’s manageable. I’m concerned this mod could hit them even more but it seems it may be better as the cup is tighter to your head leaving more space on the sides ?
I have prescription lenses in my PSVR2 so I'm not sure, but I'll take them out and test it for you and let you know as soon as I can. Obviously though, my experience and glasses will vary to yours
the globular is interesting but I find the vr2 headset too uncomfortable with the piece of plastic on the nose. Too bad globular didn't make an additional element for better comfort for the nose. Sony's rubber is really bad and it causes pain in the nose.
In the official PSVR2 teardown video, they just yank on the stock padding to remove it. Was that a lie or is a spudger necessary?
I would say it's necessary.
In the teardown video, it's a product they are very intermit with already, so they know exactly what and how to do it
@@GameOnScorpio OK good cause I'm about to order one of these globular clusters and I'd have just went pulling on the stock rubber pads lol
Have you got an Amazon affiliate link
I do not sadly
@@GameOnScorpio no worries. Nice review
@@TocRum I have an affiliate link to the product on the suppliers site (see description and pinned comment) just not an amazon one
LMAO you literally have an "egg" head! Hail Dr Robotnik! :P Seriously tho, I did NOT believe you, I thought you were exaggerating or something lol but when you demonstrated, it was true :) Kinda the opposite of Hey Arnold..... I'm sorry i'm really done now B-) Thanks for video! I feel like its helped but I'm still trying to get my stock pads off :(
Keep at it, you'll get them off one day!
I'm glad you enjoyed and found the video helpful!
@@GameOnScorpio lol that really made me laugh. I'm so excited to try this mod but I'm trying to make sure I'm being super careful. I just can't seem to find the clips that I need to pop out.....
@kilik0410 I was just the same... I didn't want to break anything, which part are you struggling with?
Start with the back padding, it's a lot easier and will build your confidence.
@@GameOnScorpio Well, thanks but I got it! 😁 Last thing before going to sleep, I was like lemme try once more. Funny cuz u were right about building confidence with the back pad first lol My biggest problem was not knowing how the stock pads clipped in, and the back is very different from the front.
edit: Fixed after falling asleep while typing 😁
@@kilik0410 glad you managed to get it all sorted. I hope you enjoy it!
I bought the cheap overhead strap for £6 on ebay and works great,if you cant afford the one in vid then this is a good cheaper option
send link for the 1 you brought
I see my name on the discord lol
I do these things on purpose. Glad you noticed 😉
The only problem I still have is the rubber over my face.
Oh the actual facial interface? I love it. What problem do you have with it?
It just doest feel right having the rubber over my skin. Psvr1 was much more comfortable imo.
VR PANDA has gr8 facemask comfort mod. A have the whole set from them and its freaking awsome!
@@szymonm.8138 Oooo I might have to check them out! Thanks for the info!
The earbuds smacking around on the lenses as he’s moving it around is hurting me. They got ear wax all over them and the lenses being so sensitive to scratches? Oooof.
Not sure what video you were watching but the earbuds were never "smacking around on the lenses". There is 1 section where it's gently lying on the lens. I always try and keep the buds as clean as possible too.
The lenses themselves have proscription lens inserts which are also scratch resistant... but thanks for the constructive criticism...
If that hurts you, then youve never experienced any real hards ships in life. Build a ramp, crash a bike, get your heart broken, something... jeez man.
@@GameOnScorpiothat guys'a loser
Globular Cluster sells great over the ear headphones too, i got them for a few months and they're amazing. Eliminates all of your problems
