- This is Mudrunner VR, a made for VR riff on the core offroad series that has been around in flat gaming for more than 10 years. Essentially an offroad simulation, this single player mod bogging adventure is a smaller, more bight sized take on the previous games in the series. I have been quoted on The Virtual Boys Podcast as calling out the Mudrunner series as a type of game i didn’t think would work in VR. Stick around and find out if this changed my mind. Same. When I get off work I want to come home and relax not put on a VR headset and go back to work.

There is a chance that they're using this as a test bed for adding vr support to future runner titles
I'm very impressed what the developers have done. I'm not a fan of the genre but I will be voting with my wallet for these types of sim games.
There is another game called "truck driver" . I think it has got the best virtual steering controls .. cheap also

Looks like a game from 2003 visually which is alright by me as the immersion will more than make up for it. Definitely pick this up. I assume you can get really stuck like in Spintires? Always use to enjoy that, working out how to get out of a sticky situation. Thanks for the review my good sirs. Apparently going by the Meta store reviews the game is not compatible with Quest 2.

@@VRGRID It wasn't available for Q2 right away (resulting in some peeps posting angry complaints in the review section), but now it's available for quest 2 and 3 and pro. I wonder if there's any difference between the 2 and 3 version though

No need, mudrunner has been out for sevral years and you can buy it right now. Has steering whee, support. It only came out to vr now.

So when is this available for quest 2. I just bought it from the quest app but I can't download it on my quest 2. Wtf every where I look it's listed for quest 2 except on the meta store.

It's good now, just started my download.
The only thing I dont like about this game is that the screen goes black if your head goes thru the window.
If ever a driving game needed you to hang your head out of the window, this is it.
Other than that, I am enjoying it so far.

I’ve just visited the store page again and it now says for quest 2 and pro but a lot of people who have left reviews say it wouldn’t download after they purchased it for quest 2

Hmm I really liked mudrunner and snow runner. This seems like a quick cash grab and wasted potential. They really could have done a full quest 3, rift, and pcvr version. Even just adding VR support to the existing console & pc titles. Going to skip this unless it’s on a sale for less than $10. Can’t even look out your window lol.
Devs bring it to PSVR2 please! As a fan of the series I would buy it day one if they do.
We haven't heard anything about a PSVR 2 version as of yet.
you guys should be asking for TDU Solar Crown or The Crew rather than thinking of this as some stupid console war for the bottom - Quest clearly can play this but not those...
@VRnamek lol to be fair the Quest is barely pulling this off. They are small maps.
Do i have to pay extra for the vr version or does it run on the main game without a injection
It's a completely different game and only available on Quest.

"Better than I expected"? What did you expect? I expected an actual game, not this paid demo.
I wish developers would not pull this kind of shit. This is what makes people think so little of VR.
Farming simulator 09 should be added it wouldn’t be that hard and for us VR players it’s not so advanced

Pet peeve, NO 3rd person cam! Like no mans sky and Skyrim vr they assume it’s not “immerseive.” I know it doesn’t make sense but Third person in VR is so cool! And it would be very useful in a game like this.
So it’s what, 4 hours or so of content? A bit rubbish really, would need a good discount for this one.
It would take you about 4 hours to get through just the story. The open missions are expansions on the story missions with slightly larger maps. There are another 11 open missions so you could easily spend close to 10 hrs to complete.
I got it for 15 bucks with a 30% off code I'd been sitting on. Can't go wrong at that price

Looks like crap!! The original Mudrunner is WAY better!! You can use the cab view without the VR
Devs shoud add free locomotion and ability to look out of open windows and this game woud be perfect
