All valid points, good video! You already said it yourself, if you want to experience VR and already own a PS5, go PSVR 2. If you don't, it's easier and cheaper to go for a Quest 3. There's no real winner here, just go according to your preferences as they're both good!
I disagree. Even if you have a PS5 that definitely doesn't make the decision obvious. The psvr plays games. That's it. The quest has ar experiences, can be used as a desktop, and can play games. Most importantly you don't have to be connected to anything. I personally have 0 interest in a headset that requires you to be plugged into something. You can use the quest in any room of your house and can take it with you anywhere. The psvr has the OLED screens which will sometimes have better colors. That's pretty much the main positive.
I use the PSVR2 to play the big IPs. In my opinion RE8 alone is worth the price of the PSVR2. As a second device I use the pico neo 3 to play mods because it performs pretty well (lower res & dp). I'm not interested in other content at the moment, so I'm quiet happy with this combo. I like cables.
You can play all the latest resident evil games in vr re2 re3 re7 revillage re4 remake on the quest 3 with a PC aswell as a crap tone of other games especially with pray dogs unreal engine injector being able to play pretty much any unreal game but if your happy with the blurriness of the psvr2 and being stuck on a cable aswell as not as much to play then what evs floats ya boat
I wish I could just wirelessly' connect my Quest 3 to my PS5 instead. The Q3's sleeker slim form factor, far greater comfort when using the Elite Strap+Silicone User Interface(PSVR2 kills the bridge of my nose.), Pancake clarity, clearer peripheral vision, LARGE sweet spot, the fact that it's wireless which is an absolute game changer for stand-up VR, has ring-less controllers, better motion tracking, incredible blur-free motion clarity, a numbered IPD dial, no god rays, or OLED mura, extremely minimal glare, while also having the edge in resolution, EASILY make it the winner in my eyes, WHEN connected to a high end PC(RTX4090, and soon to be 5090 ;). PSVR2 however, has greater black levels and richer vibrant colours, eye tracking & FR for more power, superior controller haptics, and is also rocking adaptive triggers. And of course, much more power thanks to the PS5 and soon to be PS5 Pro Enhanced. This is a far more popular, practical, in and out/convenient, affordable, money making method of getting high end VR experiences. PC by comparison feels like a dead end, essentially an uuber niche ghost town that will never be anything but. Quest 3 Pro which will be landing sometime in 2025 will in fact have a micro-oled display so that solves Q3's black levels and colour issues. ;) Anyways, the PSVR2 in most ways feels like a 5+ year old outdated headset with too many blemishes that have been made more glaringly obvious after owning the Q3 since Christmas. But lets get real here for a second, PC VR is stupidly niche and will never explode. It's too expensive, confusing, anti-plug in play and can feel like a mini ritual getting a game up and running. Too many friction points. I don't even like factoring it to be honest. It's basically Stand alone Quest 3 Vs PSVR2+PS5 at this point. If only Sony or MS allowed Quest 3 to wirelessy(or wired) connect to either console for more power. :P That would be a game changer instead of being 2.5 generations behind in graphical power with every 3-year Meta Quest headset release. Because lets face it, Sony most likely will NOT give the PSVR2 the proper revision it deserves.
I have both but I buy games on PSVR2 if they are available on both system because I like the better trophy hunting on PS5, the much better graphics, the better immersion in total darkness (Quest does not isolate sunlight) and the BIGGEST reason: You friends and family can watch what you're doing flawlessly on a TV. The Quest is great for casual games like a handheld. It is ready in seconds and the tracking is great. I also use it for PCVR and for watching videos in VR. So a great combination. VR is not yet big enough to have a war like console A or B against PC etc. - it needs love ;-) to grow until it's a big thing.
Sony has a great product that no other console platform has, they need to lean on it a little more. I was very disappointed that the new Astro game mentioned nothing of VR support and what is up with still not provided a way to buy th controllers separately.
I have both. Even though I would recommend the Quest 3 to anyone just because of the sheet variety of things to do with it in comparison, I have to say that playing games like Horizon VR and RE Village on the PSVR2 have been visually incredible. Definitely something to show off to anyone who's new to VR or have only played on standalone.
Agreed! Until Quest 3 can play Gran Turismo 7 VR or similar PSVR2 wins all day over Quest 3. I haven't even seen PCVR come close to a game that looks as good and runs as smooth as GT7 on my Reverb G2 and Index with a 3080ti. PSVR2 has only been out for 8 months people! How many games have been made exclusively for the Quest 3 again? Quest 3 is using a mobile phone processor and graphics chipset...peeps forget about this and its NEVER brought up when comparing. PS5 is pretty much a super optimized gaming desktop with a 3070ti in it. PCVR can never be as optimized as a console...NEVER.
Quest 3 easily takes the crown for me, by a land slide. It's incredible. I have both, but the PSVR2 feels too cumbersome, dated in ways, I hate that it's tethered to a cable, can't stand the fresnel lenses and their tiny sweet spot(etc) and it has no VR eco system, making it feel like an isolating, niche, more shut off half baked depressing experience. Sony dropped the ball, and wasn't all in, clearly. I think Resident Evil Village and RE4 VR mode are incredible, and the headset is worth owning just for those and a few more titles like Moss Book 2 if you don't have a gaming PC, but eh. The Quest 3 on the other hand feels like one big universal collective livelier cheerful experience thanks to it's wonderful UI, game page profiles and reviews, overall presentation and it even including those incredible VR animation shorts and diaromas that are constantly being submitted by artists and animators , plus the freedom you feel from wireless portable VR is game changing(Ya, i skipped Quest 2), it's premium slim compact form factor and ring-less contorllers are fantastic as well, and the pancake lenses most importantly are amazing. the 2064x2208 + Pancake lenses clarity, Ultra smooth CRT motion, and lack of any weird OLED filter and mura make the image look that much crisp, sharper and cleaner. If only it had OLED-black levels, richer vibrant colours, the VR2's superior haptics 'and' adaptive triggers, plus eye tracking & foveated rendering for better game performance. And I've got to say, the Quest 3 makes a wonderful companion piece to the Switch OLED. That's the way I'm rolling right now. Still need to finish up RE4: VR Mode on PSVR2, and i'm sure i'll dive into Vertigo 2 at some point. I just hope Sony whips out a revision fast, because as is, PSVR2 doesn't have a chance at succeeding no matter how many heavy hitters it gets. But back to Q3, the officail Elite Strap, Silicone interface/Light shield and charging dock are all a must. I just wish i could do away with the top head strap thingy', but it's needed since the front visor is still a little on the heavy side to do being a wireless stand alone.
I have owned both since day one. If I can only have one and not the other. It would be Meta Quest 3. Mixed reality is definitely the future and will blow your mind with certain games.
Same here I have both also and I think the PlayStation VR2 is better for VR games because of the headset rumble and adaptive triggers and the Quest 3 is a multi media beast I use it more than I use the PSVR2 I use it more for UA-cam as I use the Quest 3 internet browser to watch my UA-cam videos as you can have it in Mixed Reality and the official UA-cam VR app doesn’t have Mixed Reality functions
Definitely not a gimmick. Eventually you'll be able to change the textures of your walls and floors, and add objects to emulate different scenarios, like caves, forests, dungeons, horror locations, etc. It's gonna get crazy
@@darthvaderthegamecat - It's a gimmick if you play things like First Encounters - the packed in Quest 3 game. It absolutely is NOT a gimmick when you come to realise how it can be used. Let me give you some use case examples. Okay so I play Eleven Table Tennis and I am worried about my dog walking into the room, and kicking the dog by accident or stepping on her. Also in Thrill of the Fight I am worried about accidentally punching the wall/breaking my controllers. On FoVR Bowling I am worried about smacking my hand when I run up to bowl on a table near my play space. On LesMills Body Combat I am worried again about hitting objects near me. On First Person Tennis, I am worried about going to serve and hitting my ceiling. ^ I have done all these things in the past, whacked my hands into a table, nearly broke controllers by hitting a book case, hit the ceiling, bumped into my dog. ^ None of this can happen again. In Eleven Table tennis I see the table and my room, I see if the dog comes into my room or near me, the way anyone would be playing real table tennis. On the bowling I can see the bowling lane and also see my table, this gives me confidence to really run up and hurl my ten pin bowling ball, knowing exactly where the table is and isn't. On First person tennis, my ball toss/ball goes through the ceiling and as it falls back into the room I hit it, and not my ceiling lol. On LesMills and thrilll of the fight I punch the targets harder and with more accuracy, confident that I am nowhere near anything that would smash the controllers. Then there are games where I have mapped out my entire house. I have one game where I run around through the kitchen and up the stairs etc, and there are terrorist like dudes and I shoot them, but they are running around my real house and I can see everything and turn a corner and kill guys in my real environment, it's mind blowing and my whole house is the play space. I have a horror game that works the same way, that changes aspects of my real rooms and puts monsters into my house. ^ They are NOT gimmicks!!!
My first experience with VR has been with the quest three got it day one I’ve had about a month with it, and I’ve had a great experience, and been blown away
Very good comparison of both. You mentioned both strengths and weakness. You also mentioned how quest 3 does pcvr something that most UA-camrs ignore when doing the comparison which makes no sense to me. Good comparison video
The main reason why I recently bought Quest 3 instead of PSVR2 is because of PCVR hook up and Half-Life Alyx. That game blew my mind! I am planning to get PSVR2 for my PS5 eventually when I have the time and the funds.
@Jdb63 I just got it. I was not impressed by it. PSVR2 isn't as clear as Quest 3. Quest 3 is better than PSVR2 in all categories except the OLED. But, GT7 is amazing in PSVR2!
@@agonyp2643 Give it some time, I was really bummed about it at first too but you'll learn how to get the headset to sit at the sweetspot without thinking pretty fast. If you get it set up just right the clarity should be relatively close to the Quest 3 towards the center of the lenses, but with a lot brighter vibrant visuals. There's plenty of advantages it has over the Quest 3 that you'll start to notice
I have both, both are great, I much prefer oled colors, graphics, and brightness on psvr2, but I like the portability of quest 3, with Bobo M3 it's just as comfortable as psvr2, and I removed the uncomfortable faceplate
Fresnel lenses are nowhere near as good as pancake lenses so that alone is an absolute deal breaker. I own a Quest 2 and a PS5 so my choices are between Quest 3 or PSVR2 for my next VR headset but as PSVR2 uses Fresnel lenses like Quest 2 I doubt I'll ever get one unless it goes on a deep discount. Fresnel is last gen tech in a $500 headset.
@acurisur ya, the pancake lenses are great, just throw on headset and I never have to adjust since the sweet spot is huge, quest 3 and Asgards Wrath 2 has been the best gaming experience I have ever had.
Nobody ever points out the difference in motion between the two. PSVR2 has good motion clarity only when the VR Brightness slider dial is cranked down to zero, but then you're left with a miserably dim picture. Quest 3 by default on the other hand is brighter with even smoother motion, it's amazing. Combined with the higher resolution, zero god rays, minimal glare, no oled mura, large sweet spot and pancake clarity make it a big step above PSVR2. Resident Evil 4 on Quest 3, even without any Q3 update(They really need to bump the resolution up to 2064x2208 already) already produces a much more consistent clearer sharper image than PSVR2's RE4 VR Mode. On PSVR2, RE4 remake really suffers during many of the larger out door areas. They just don't look good, due to the resolution drop and at times, washed out HDR effect.
I'm not a fan of spec comparisons. There is SO much more to the actual experience of using a product, which can change wildly from person-to-person based on their likes/needs.
Good comparison. You are the only reviewer I have seen to cover prices of software between systems. No one ever does that, despite its obvious importance in a comparison of ecosystems.
I have both headsets and I use my Quest 3 more for watching UA-cam, playing Mixed Reality Games and as a monitor for my MacBook Pro and i play all of my VR games on my PlayStation VR 2 as your not going to get an immersive experience anywhere else like you would on that headset because if the headset haptics and the adaptive triggers so if you want a headset to watch TV shows and movies and want to experience something new with Mixed Reality games and apps the go for Quest 3 but if you want the VR games with the best graphics and you want total immersion in games then choose the PlayStation VR 2 but I will say the PSVR2 needs more multimedia VR apps like what they have on the Quest 3 but in a nutshell one is better for games and one is better for Multi Media and entertainment experiences
I have both as well. I only play games on quest that have a good chance of not coming to psvr2 and when i travel. However, if a game is on both i am playing with the psvr2. If you use pcvr for this comparison then you have to factor in price gap once adding a 1500+ computer.
@@rickz7461 most people don’t have a gaming pc which will run 1,000-1500 at least. Regardless, it has to be figured into total cost just like a ps5 has to be figured into cost which is half the cost of a gaming pc. Also, with a console there is no configuration or compatibility issues it is already optimized. I have many friends who have pc and even though graphics are excellent they have had issues where they have had to take time to optimize and using airlink or virtual desktop can take a bit of manual optimization. If you enjoy tinkering with settings to get that optimal settings then thats great but a lot of people just want to turn on their headset and play. To each their own and if you have the time and a pc to play vr then thats great and i am sure its amazing. Not to mention mods which add to the experience. However, for a fair comparison you have to factor in the additional cost and possible extra setup time. Every way you play vr has its pros and cons and whichever works best for you is great.
I have a PS5 and a pretty decent PC and I think I'll go with the Quest 3 as the limited library on the PSVR2 puts me off. Will give it a couple of weeks to have a think and possibly wait for any post-Christmas sales.
I have both and while they both have their unique benefits, I think you've made a right choice. Quest store + PCVR store will definitely give you a lot of games
There really AREN'T enough PSVR2 exclusives, but I feel like it was wrong to not even mention GT7 or the awesome Resident Evil games like RE8 and RE4 Remake.
There are not enough, yes. But also we can add that GT7 and RE8\RE4 remakes are just ports. Without proper VR treatment. May be RE8 is closest to true VR game, and even then there's strange cutscenes with floating hands
You make good points, but, to me, and this is just my opinion,@@MrKinein, but it's actually irrelevant whether GT7 especially is a port or not. What matters is the end result, and for me the end result is that GT7 is the best VR driving experience that currently exists.
@@PeteOlivaGlad for you. I think with wheel it is an awesome game! Can you say what you like there's the most? I have the game and the headset but never sucked in
As she is saying their aren't any new exclusive titles for psvr2 for a while the camera pans down and shows Firewall 2 lol They've released more 1st party vr games than any other headset within the same time frame.
Those amazing 1st party tech demos by Sony vs full AAA games such as Asgard’s wrath 2. Not to mention quest 3 has the full q2 library and all the full pcvr library as well.
@chan13153 tech demos? 😋 get out of here. You just named 1 game for quest (and it's not even out yet). Look at what psvr 2 has brought. Gt7, horizon, switchback, synapse, resident evil 8, resident evil 4 is coming (not the GameCube port), vertigo 2 is coming, .... No pc support, sure. But more and more pcvr devs are bringing their games over reportedly. And you need a pretty beefy pc to be able to play high end vr. For psvr 2 you just need a ps5.
@@ElephantTrap RE4vr looks good but not much else. HorizonVR is a big disappointment. On rails combat and climbing simulator, firewall ultra has auto aim and button ADS (Half assed VR game), GT7 is the best game and its a flatscreen conversion of just. a racing game. Switchback= literal on rails tech demo. Most of sony's offering has not been very good. Problem is sony doesnt know how to make a good VR game. Most of there offering is very limiting in some degree when it comes to controls which ruin the experience. HorizonVR is literally the est example. Great graphics, but combat being on rails totally ruins it.
The only reason I bought a VR headset was for Assassin’s Creed Nexus and Asgard’s Wrath 2, and both are freaking unbelievable. At the beginning of last year, I really thought about getting a PS5 and a PSVR2, but in hindsight, I’m soooo glad I waited. The Quest 3 is my new favorite possession.
10:31 I mean it doesn't help when you got Meta keeping so many games exclusive. Among Us VR was supposed to be a launch title for PSVR 2 and it took 10 months to finally come to psvr 2 because of the Meta deal. Other than that though there has been no shortage of games on PSVR 2.
Song in the smoke best version is on psvr 2, no man's sky best version on psvr 2, switchback, synapse, horizon (excellent game for newcomers to vr), ....
I see these two headsets as complementary. If you can afford both, you'll have the best of both worlds. If your only interest in VR is gaming - PSVR 2 is the way to go. Beyond the OLED screens, the haptic feedback of the controllers and headset plus the adaptive triggers make the PSVR 2 the best way to game. Plus it's plug'n play so no farting around with settings and files.
Disagree. Logically nobody buys a 800p oled screen over a 1080p lcd (this comparison is a little tame compared to fresnel and pancake lenses thus strengthens my point) Therefore color contrast shouldn't take precedence over edge to edge clarity. Being tied to 2 platforms not only is good for diverse library and titles but ensures the device is futureproof, after it's lifespan games will not be compatible to the psvr2 but can't say the same for the MQ3. PS Subscription for online play is also a detriment to longevity and cost after it's lifespan servers are gonna close. you can't say the same for pcvr/quest platform. Speaking from experience as a ps4 psvr1 owner my cv1 rift is more relevant.
💯. I have both and love both, but the GAMING experience on PSVR2 is a level above. The Q3 is great for social games, watching movies, doing work, and playing a few exclusives
I own a ps5 and a good gaming laptop, so I’m fine with either. But not being able to mod is definitely where says I’d want quest more, cuz some of the songs for beat saber I want are mods
I hate when people like her makes a statement like that." Only Quest ports" How about 1. GT7, 2. Resident Evil 8 3. No mans sky, 4. The walking dead saints and sinners 1-2 5. Synapse 6. Firewall Ultra 7. Swithback vr 8. Pavlov full game(Not Shack) 9. kayak VR 10. Resident Evil 4 remake in 1 day 11. Vertigo 2 next week 12. Propegation Paradise Hotel ect. And all the games that comes to both platforms are miles better on PSVR2. I originally bougt After the fall on Quest 2, and man that gane is ugly on Quest 2, 2 weeks ago i bougt it on sale on PSVR2 and wow what a difference, its actially good and playable. Looks good to😎 PSVR2 has only been out since february. Quest has been around for years. And the games are mostly experiences and rythem games. I liked my Quest 2 for what it was, but its not for me in the long run, to dark, low light, limited field of view like looking through binoculars. Very Low textures. But video playback and portability on Quest is great.
Regarding price of games, Playstation games go on sale all the time, also you can buy used games often for half the price. Also you can play Flat Playstation 4-5 Games. To be fair, when comparing hardware prices you should consider comparing PSVR 2 with a highend pc and a Quest 3. The Quest 3 is way to expensive in my eyes considering it has no eye tracking and 1-2 hours of battery life. You need a battery headstrap and they are expensive and possibly a more comfortable facemask. I know I did on Quest 2. And then possible an external battery pack in your belt.
I'm confused, PSVR2 has an FOV of 110 degrees, Quest 3 has a FOV of 110 degrees, yet the Quest 3 FOV disappoints you while the PSVR2 FOV is a plus, why?
right, so what I meant was, PSVR2's FOV of 110 on paper, is further enhanced by the ability to bring the visor closer to the eyes. With Quest 3, even though the FOV is 110 on paper, the facial interface is so big that it feels smaller than that. I guess that would be a good clarification to make :D
@@DiscoVRTetiana So if someone comes out with a low profile facial interface, possibly in combination with a halo head strap like the BoboVR, then this would no longer be a negative? In fact I think I've seen at least one youtuber that totally removes the facial interface when using the BoboVR M3 in mixed reality mode.
@@shuflie So, the BoboVR M3 has a limitation for adjusting lenses closer to the face. The power and audio jacks prevent the display from being moved closer. Removing the facial interface or getting a lower profile gasket will have zero effect of FOV.
The conclusion that you can't play anymore when the battery dropped to zero as disadvantage to the PSVR 2 isn't accurate, you have even more options than on PSVR 2 because you can still play tethered or use a powerbank while playing.
Two points to consider. One, with the PSVR2 you still have the option with many games to play outside of VR if the VR environment gets to be too much. Two, with the announcement from Sony to make the PSVR2 PC compatible this year, it might elevate this option far beyond the value you would get from the Quest.
Just a few things to consider: PSVR2 - 120hz does NOT stem from the hardware, it is game dependent just like the Quest 3. However at the moment, most games listed at 120hz on PSVR2, are reprojection 120hz, which is actually worse than 90hz native, NOT better!!! I own a number of games on my PSVR2 which are 120hz reprojection, Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 etc. If left on default brightness, this can cause bad frame-tearing, if the brightness is lowered it is not as bad, but 120hz reprojection is a fake 120hz mode which is inserting fake frames in every other frame. It is better than 60hz but much worse than 90hz. There are many more games on Quest 3 that run at a native 120hz mode, though they can be heavy on the battery. PSVR2 can run some bigger triple A games that Quest 3 likely cannot run, as much as anything because of two factors, the cpu and gpu power of the PS5, and the size of the games in terms of storage. So Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake (not out yet). Would not be possible on Quest 3 stand alone. Only possible on Quest 3 via PCVR and PC/steam. PSVR2 has the worst frame persistence out of ALL the modern VR headsets by a long way. High frame persistence makes motion sickness MUCH more likely. There is a way to mitigate this by turning the brightness right down, but this takes the HDR/brightness advantage of the headset and tosses it into the dustbin, and even with lowered brightness, the PSVR2 still has much worse frame persistence than Quest 3. Identical games played, and one on the PSVR2 can cause motuon sickness for players who don't fully have their VR legs, and on the Quest 3 the same person can have no issue at all. Then again, if a player has their VR legs, the PSVR2 is a much brighter headset, and the blacks are much deeper/pure. Contrast is superior etc In clarity though the Quest 3 wins by a mile. Quest 3 is a far superior headset in terms of clarity of image, far better in terms of edge to edge clarity and far superior in terms of sweetspot! PSVR2 has the edge in texture/asset quality. Quest 3 is a modular headset, PSVR2 is NOT. So comfort, battery life etc can all ve changed with Quest 3, with PSVR2 you had better like it, as you are stuck with it. Quest 3: Strap - a range of comfort options, everything from halo to clamshell designs. Facial inserts can be removed, washed, a choice of materials, silicon to cloth, leatherette etc. Batteries - all kinds of options. If you feel uncomfortable with the feel of a PSVR2 - tough! I would NOT use a PSVR2 for any energentic games as you can't swap out any facial insert, what you sweat into is staying there to stink! My PSVR did this, I never got the smell out and the rubber Sony use started to rot/fall apart!!! I will not use my PSVR2 for Pistol Whip or Beat Saber etc for this reason. Batrery - PSVR2 is wired, but the controllers die from full power to zero in 4 hours!!! It is possible via a power bank or a variety of batteries for the Quest 3 to never run out of battery and the controllers last weeks! Talking of modular design. The controllers on PSVR2 are very good in some ways, very good haptics, but... Nowhere near as good as the pro controllers that can be paired with the Quest 3!!! They have 3 cameras and a cpunin each controller and self track. Mixed Reality is becoming a big deal in various games - it doesn't and never will exist in PSVR2. PSVR2 - It is possible to plug in peripheral like a force feedback steering wheel with pedal, and a gear stick - none of this is happening on Quest 3 stand alone - only via PCVR and PC/Steam library. Eye tracking allows for foeveated rendering, but very few games employ this, it is game dependent! Some games do feature eye tracking in menus and for game play mechamics and it can be cool when used well, Quest 3 will never have true foeveated rendering, and will never have eye tracking mechanics in games. Quest 3 has a massive library compared to PSVR2, not bigger VASTLY greater!!! Quest 3 isn't just a gaming system!!! It has chat/communities/animation studio/exercise titles way beyond the PSVR2, waaay more musical apps. It has video players/film players, it has work and productivity apps, live sports etc etc. Quest 3 has a fantastic returns policy, PSVR2 has ZERO returns policy. Games are generally more expensive and sometimes massively more expensive on PSVR2. Quest 3 has proper onboarding and a real VR UI/UX. PSVR2 piggybacks off the PS5 UI which can be a pain in the rear. Gran Turismo 7 alone can make the PSVR2 worth it ahead of the Quest 3 for those wanting to buy a racing rig, if they do not own a serious gaming PC, to connect a Quest 3 to. I own both headsets like both for different reasons and games. My fave games on PSVR2: Gran Turismo 7 Resident Evil Village Synapse Switchback No Mans Sky Saints & Sinners 1&2 Tetris Effect Connected Moss book 1&2 The Light Brigade 7th Guest Red Matter 1&2 Pavlov Puzzling Places My fave Quest 3 games/apps Eleven Table Tennis (Mixed Reality) Dungeons of Eternity in Death Unchained Pistol Whip Walkabout Mini Golf Smash Drums (Mixed Reality) Beat Saber LesMills Body Combat (Mixed Reality) Premium Bowling Audio Trip Paradiddle Crisis Brigade 2 Demeo (Mixed Reality) First Person Tennis (Mixed Reality) Pickleball One Miracle pool (Mixed Reality) Thrill of the Fight Creed Phantom Covert Ops Espire 2 (Mixed Reality) Superhot Skybox VR Big screen Vader Immortal Guided Meditation Titans of Space Nature Treks Ultrawings 2 War Planes WW1 & Pacific Star Wara Pinball Synth Riders (mixed reality) UA-cam (with Passthrough)
Nice supplemental run-down of the two! One edit I would make is that PSVR2 can be modified with a comfort kit (e.g. GLOBULAR CLUSTER) that will allow for removal and washing of padding, and only costs around US $50. I’ve no idea why SONY didn’t do something like it themselves, but at least it’s available and it’s not unreasonably costly. 👍
Hi. So you can’t play games like Resident evil on Standalone? Have to be be connected to a pc to play it only? Also can you use it on a mac Instead of of a PC?
@@bandsmanmurphyslaw8627 - To the best of my knowledge you CANNOT use a Mac to play any VR games on Quest 3. 😕 Only the (old) original RE4 is playable standalone on Quest 2 and 3. There is a PCVR mod (not standalone) that lets you play RE7 and RE8 in VR. The *official* RE7 is only available to play on PSVR1, and the *official* RE8 is only available to play on PSVR2. The *official* RE4 Remake will become available to play this winter only on PSVR2 (but presumably a PCVR mod will also become available). I hope this helps!
@@CHROME-COLOSSUS - I don't own that kit, but I have bought a cover to go over the rubber material, it cost me about £30 UK. It can be washed, but it is a bit awkward. I use it, but stay away from the energetic type of games, so no sweat is getting through to the rubber material as that degraded on my PSVR original. I just have my cover to protect the system. As you can see from my list I play more sedentary games on my PSVR2, I prefer it over my Quest 3 for games like Red Matter 1&2 and Moss 1&2 etc, I got 7th Guest also on the PSVR2 - these games have better graphics on this system, so that's where I play them. The Quest 3 is just so much easier for sweaty games, because I can just take out my silicon facial insert and wash it or whatever, or just wipe it down, if it ever broke it wouldn't matter as I have a cloth facial insert and I guess worst case scenario I would just buy another silicon cover etc. The fact that the PS5 is powering the graphics makes for better experiences in certain titles for sure, but also the lack of a wire connection on Quest 3 also goes hand in hand with more energetic games, no chance of catching a wire! Ohh by the way I strongly recommend anyone buying a PSVR2 to buy a little magnetic usb connector, to connect your PSVR2 to that, and plug that into the PS5, that way if you accidentally tug the wire, instead of it possibly damaging your PS5 or PSVR2, it will just slip out of the system via the magnetic disconnect. Such things cost anywhere between a few pounds/dollars upto about 10 pounds/dollars. Well worth it for the peace of mind, any wire pull will damage nothing 👍
@@bandsmanmurphyslaw8627 - The original Resident Evil 4 game can be brought and played on Quest 3 stand alone and it is a great game, just the graphics are a bit old, and it has not as yet been updated from the Quest 2 graphics. PSVR2 has Resident Evil Village which is graphically fantastic, also PSVR2 is getting the Resident Evil 4 remake for VR and again that will be leaps and bounds better graphically. Resident Evil Village is a free VR update, but if someone doesn't own the game, they have to buy the regular game on PS5, the same will be true for Resident Evil Remake. I own Resident Evil Village, it's fantastic in VR. I own Resident Evil remake, but have not played it/won't play it until the VR mode comes out. I suppose it makes these games expensive, but they are big modern triple A games in VR. The original Resident Evil game goes for between 18-29 pounds UK on the Meta store. It is still a very good game, though it would be nice if Capcom updated it for Quest 3. Some people have bought an app called Quest Optimiser, and increased the resolution of games including Resident Evil themselves, that's possible. Also if someone has a very good gaming PC, they can play the whole PCVR library via steam, and so I guess then they can play Resident Evil Village and Remake etc when that comes out. I do not game on my PC, that's just for work and always compiling stuff, for me, it is just Quest 3 standalone and PSVR2 via PS5. Though I still own my Quest 2 and PSVR original lol.
After using this more, another big issue with the Quest 3 is glare. When you look at bright object, there is a lens flare/halo effect as you move your head around. It's really bad, IMO. Black levels suck, too, but the lens flare is annoying!
So the psvr2 do the 120hz interpolation by its own?? Also does the psvr2 have hand tracking? I wish you do an review about psvr2 on pc after the new adapter release, i wonder how better it is. I really love what you did here showing the fresnell lens effects, i had psvr 1 and it really was annoying seen an pattern like an coat, it was like have an glass covered by an coat sometimes, others if i focused on the game i did not see it.. also my lens scratched easily maybe its the fresnell fragility?
October 2016. It was Midnight and I was among a small few who waited outside a local Best Buy to purchase the original PSVR during launce. This was truly state of the art. During that time I hosted a handful of VR parties to introduce family and friends to Virtual Reality. My #1 choice was to have them experience Ocean Decent (Shark Encounter) on the PlayStation VR Worlds disc. It was awesome fun watching everyone’s reaction to the experience. I probably would have stayed a loyal Sony customer, but after using the Quest 2 and now the Quest 3, I could never go back to PSVR. The quality of the Quest 3 and the wireless content it can play is a total game changer. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Meta and the Quest 4 will offer us in the future. Keeping my paws and claws crossed that it will include a 6-8K resolution bump.
I have both- they are both great. You cant really go wrong with either choice For higher budget AAA games and horror- PSVR2 is the better choice with the OLED screen, blacks and better haptics For more active games and titles you want to jump in and play for 30 mins, Quest 3 is also great as its so portable and versitle and a nice step up from Q2. Ive been playing it much more than Q2.
I don’t have gaming pc, but I have ps5. Should I buy psvr2 or quest3? Is the quality of stand alone games on quest 3 better or worse compared to psvr2 on ps5?
Don't forget the unique feature that if anyone hacks your FB account or reports you as underaged (as a prank or otherwise), you no longer have a Quest VR. It's over. There is no support, you can't get rid of it because it's locked to the serial number, and they won't unlock it, even if you provide what they ask. Good luck with that!
@@BossMan302 Great, doesn't change the fact that anyone can report you as underaged and lock your account in VR... and meta won't help you unless your solution fits into their automated resolution steps. I've learned how to work with the VR now, it's all good.
8:15 Battery life is not an issue if you use a powerbank. Just get a 1m USB-cable with 90°-connector, put the powerbank in your pocket and play as long as you want.
@@MovieBulldog Sure, but at the moment, all I see is cheap junk. Meta's own battery strap was recalled because it doesn't work, and even the well-reviewed Bobo strap has problems with a buzzing battery (probably because they didn't engineer it correctly). They may be a small improvement, but it's really just putting lipstick on a pig.
No PSVR2 big exclusive? RE8, RE4, GT7, HZD is better than all Oculus games. Only HL:Alyx and PC mods are better, but you have to have PC worth a lot of money like 1500-2000$
Yeah well... I think that is a very arguable position. First of all I think the exclusives here isn't a deciding factor, because there's not a lot of them on both sides. Second - in your list only the Horizon game is not just a port of a good flat game. And also for me it is a deal breaker that PSVR1 exclusives are long forgotten. If I want to play RE7 in VR for example, I will buy PCVR headset, like the Oculus one. Even if I would be a PS fanboy
I have both. I don't think comparing the two serves any useful info as each have their pros and cons. When listing game prices, technically you're right about psvr2 being more pricey, but Sony always has great sales if you wait. Meta so called sales are usually a joke. To get the most out of pcvr you need to fiddle with settings a lot to dial in a game, because of all the different graphics cards and processors, where psvr2 is one scew
Two things having pros and cons is exactly why you compare them. What are you talking about? You want to only compare things that are exactly the same? lol
@@coltynstone-lamontagne and for Playstation store it can be 50%, 75% or sometimes even higher. It depends on how old is the game in store. Quest store is way greedier with thier sales. I think 30% is almost nothing. However this thing works only for old titles.
I love my PSVR2, and have been overwhelmed by the number of games on it, but certainly look forward to more big ticket titles. I’m also planning on getting Quest 3, which I see as complementary to it. The mixed reality is compelling to me, as well as the few new games that I find promising (I have no interest in the Quest 2 library, though). I’m also excited about how easy it will be to take with me when visiting friends & family. Both headsets have their pros & cons, but I understand that and am okay with it. I don’t expect to have a favorite between them, as I see each fulfilling rather different roles - preferences will be contextual. I appreciate your coverage of a wide variety of HMD’s!
Having both I would say mixed reality is not worth it. Fun to play for a few hours and that's it. However the Quest library and PCVR games gives additional options. And for me Quest 3 is simpler to use and more versatile. PSVR 2 however is better in visual quality comfort and haptics. Based on your thinking, I think you will be fine with just PSVR 2 for now
Amazon has a bunch of battery headstraps for Quest 3 that aren't at all expensive. I picked up a comfortable one with a 10000 mAh battery for under $50.
I would like to do Architecture presentation at my client home who may not have the internet. Which Vr headset would use recommend for me to purchase to do my presentation.
I like the idea of all-in-one headset. And I think they ARE the future, but right now I feel the balance of power and battery life is too big of a hurdle! Having a device that is directly connected to a console/PC just works better, cause your graphical capabilities aren't constrained, and neither is your time playing them! With an all-in-one, you are VERY limited by battery life, and the performance/graphical fidelity can only be so good. I'll consider something like the Meta quest 3 once the tech advances to match that of a PC, while offering at least 6 hours on a charge!
Bought a Q3...instantly sold the VR2. Mobile game ports and shovelware is all you get on PS for VR experiences. PC =unlimited VR fun. Also...wires are pain in the neck.
I got both and stop using my PSVR2 very shortly after getting my quest 3. The only time I pick it up is to play a triple A game to have a good look but other then that it's collecting dust. But here's the reasons you should get a meta over the psvr2. Reason: 1.On line subscription to play online. Where as I can play among us and other online games with out the worry. 2. More games. Psvr2 failed at having backwards compatibility and meta quest 3 has all the older games and a bigger catalog then the psvr2. 3. Mod support. You can't mod psvr2 games. I played the same songs on beat sabor for so long on psvr2 and it's so easy to have a mountain of extra content with the quest 3. 4. Internet browser/Netflix and other aps that work for the quest very well. 5. No tethering. I don't know how many times the wire got in my way in games like walkabout mini golf and beat saber and it also pulls me out of games like resident evil. 6. Social. I can play VR chat and other games to just socialize.
Good comparison, but I'm not sure what you meant about flat games. If this means non-VR games then your latter point about these not being playable in PSVR2 is inaccurate. You can play any PS4 or PS5 game in the headset with the dualsense for the giant screen feel.
Technically correct & I agree with most of the points you make, but quite a misleading Video. Focusing on resolution and FOV, portability and available games does not give anyone watching this a realistic idea of both headsets. I have both, as well as a rift and rift s. I feel you are swaying people more to the quest 3. But the real difference between the 2 headsets is in the processing and GPU power and quality of games Available. It's all very well having a sharp image, but of lower quality reduced texture and lighting. Eg take a games available on both headsets like Starwars TOGE, Walking dead, Arizona Sunshine 2 or Moss. They are so much better on PSVR2. I got my quest 3 recently and was seriously underwhelmed by it even with asguards wrath 2. Especially after just playing the RE4 VR mod. Yes the PSVR2 is cabled and requires a PS5 and has fresnal lenses, but the fidelity of the games blows the quest out the water. GT7, RE4, Synapse, no mans sky, Kayak Vr & Horizon. The only way the quest can get to that quality of game is to be used as a PCVR headset, which realistically you need a $2000 Gaming pc to run. Which I have with a RTX4070. But I find myself enjoying games more on PSVR2 as I don't have to spend time mucking about with settings & ODT. If you already own a PS5 I think it makes more sense to get PSVR2.
I added cable suspension to my ceiling, so the cable is never noticeable at all on my psvr1/2. To bad it doesn't ship with that option. But it is worth the fee bucks it cost for sure. It helps that my ps5 is on top of a bookshelf.
ive now tried the ps5vr2 for around 15 hours. yes i can see the mura but i really doesnt borther me. i wear glasses, which often are dirty, so its something i have very often irl. but what i cant stand, is the screendoor effect, because to me, its a telling, bright sign that permanatly there telling me "its just a game, look you can even see the space between the pixels" and since the quest 3 lenses are so clear, that SDE is more visbile then on the q3, i think its out
then you eighter dont know what to look for, or your visus is not as good as mine. i heard people say the same thing about the index, which i really cant understand because its so obvious@@MrKinein
Just bought the PSVR2 cause i love playstation stuff! Gt7 and re8 are my favorite games cause they're like the normal ones big and lengthy but in VR! Where's the Witcher 3 VR haha
I own a PSVR2, Quest2 and a Reverb G2. For me GT7 alone is a reason for the PSVR2 and I don't see a reason to buy a Quest3 yet. If you don't own a PCVR Headset the Quest3 is maybe a option but I would always prefer a native PCVR Headset
@@MrKinein No, I really like the G2. It's quite comfy, the picture quality is good and the sound solution is really good either. It has two not that good sides though. First the Controller tracking and second the WMR software. It's not that bad that I couldn't live with it though. The Quest 2 I only use in standalone mode. Some PCVR games I can play with it. Some others like Stormland look really bad because of compression. Eventually I'll buy a Quest3 but for now I'm happy with the Headsets I have. PSVR2 is my main headset right now though.
@@MrKinein the prices are higher. That's true. I don't buy the most PS5 or PSVR2 games directly at release though. Normaly there are good offers when the games go on sale after few month. Compared to a gaming PC you save a lot of money on the hardware though. My gaming PC cost about 5 times as much as my Playstation.
I bought my psvr2 to play vr games but then i realised its 120HZ, my TV is only 60fps. And i didn’t want to buy a new monitor. So now i use my psvr2 in cinematic mode to play games at 120 fps!
It is like comparing apples to oranges and it almost makes no sense. Once you have tasted the sweet taste of wireless and standalone there is no turning back. Looking at the overall game library PSVR2 mostly have quest ports, which are more annoying to play - cable, ps5 etc. Furthermore you need to pay the usual online tax for online experiences. Only a very few upsides to PSVR2 - screen is OLED and a few awesome exclusive games. If these select few games is all you are after, then by all means - PSVR2, but 95% of people would be better off with the Quest 3 - or even the Quest 2.
I like how she tries to say after Horizon there wasnt any games that Sony dropped. Firewall 2 & Gran Turismo ring any bells? How bout Resident Evil 8 & 4? But i digress, its not a lot
I love PSVR2 GT7, NMS, and RE4/8 are all amazing, Call of the Mountain was okay. I have an MQ2 and a huge library of games along with a decent PC higher-end 30 series card, 32 gigs of Gskill with a Ryzen 7 and NMS runs twice as good on PSVR2 vs PCVR. I don't give 2 shits about mixed reality so I'll wait till Meta releases the Quest 2.5 without the MXR and depth sensor for the lower price point. Until then I will enjoy all the VR regardless of the platform.
NMS though was looking like shit for a long time in PSVR2 before it was patched out. And there are some games that caught same things, probably most of the games needs foveated rendering to be on par with PCVR. I think having both headsets is an overkill (I have both by the way). And also I think Quest 2.5 will not be the thing as you think. I bet it will be MXR first, and will not have pancake lenses. For you probably quest 2.5 or quest 3 will be overkill, if you want to upgrade in a year, may be you should consider new PCVR native headset
I regret selling my quest for the last PSVR 2, call me crazy but I thought the quest had a clearer picture, was way more comfy, 0 cables, way more games, waaay more features, and the psvr2 game prices suck.
12:20 Having GT7 for PSVR2 is a game changer. You are not going to play to all games so it is not important that PSVR2 has less games. They are just better
Loved the comparison. Feedback for your channel - Consider putting labeled timeline segments in your videos so people can jump around to the specific content they want.
You most have not seen the up coming VR games coming to PSVR2..most games on Quest are coming to PSVR2 although I do like i can plug the Quest into PC and play My Steam VR games(I have two HTC headsets).
I have a PS5 already, so going for the PSVR2, and for me its the cheaper option. If I did not have a PS5 then it would have been the Quest 3. I have the Quest 2 anyway and is good enough. What is little mentioned is PSVR2 has HDR, so realistic lighting that no other headset offers and Pancake lenses dont work well with HDR Oled, which is why they were not chosen
Great review. I think The PSVR2 games look a ton better. But they both seem like they still have a lot of negatives. So, I will pass on both. We are still a ways away (probably 10-20 years) from getting a VR experience that we really want. Maybe longer.
@@Hostile-VRPancake lenses are nice, but in my point of view not necessary to have a good a experience. But for beginners the large sweetspot is surely a benefit.
More an issue of horrendously small sweet spot. Picture is clear in center of vision, with headset perfectly positioned. Move the headset 5mm out of position, and image is horrible. Quest 3 doesn't have that problem.
Had a quest 2 and sold it as I know what meta are like for supporting older headsets. Cheeky gits were selling it for 400 just before quest 3 release. Sony aren't much better. Not really supported psvr2. The pricing is all wrong for a console, especially as they didn't impress with a large amount of games. I'd probably go for a quest 3 but purely for the AR and the PCVR compatibility combined with the pancake lenses. Plus you can take anywhere and play native quest 3 games. I'm still not totally sold on the graphics with the quest 3. They are better than quest 2 but not a huge amount on most games.
My first headset was an Oculust Rift, loved Assetto Corsa on that (check out that vid on my channel), second was an HP Reverb G2, big upgrade in visuals, then the Valve Index, which was better overall and more immersive, and now the Quest 3 which has the best lenses hands down. All it is missing is an OLED display but for the money, this thing is freaking awesome. I am going to demo the Apple Vision Pro just to see what 7 times the cost of a Quest is but have no intention on buying something like that because no matter what VR, AR, MR, XR, headset you get, you always put it down after a while because you can't live with something so large attached to your face. Once these things are the size of Ray-Bans, and contain the current specs in this generation of headsets, it's over. Everyone will buy these things and they will go in major debt over it. You have to realize that it must be livable. The $1000-$1500 phones everyone has in their pockets are and one day so will these things. Great video btw. I enjoyed your comparison.
Bigscreen Beyond may be what you are looking for? Near sunglasses size and Micro-oled screen, but costly. Would love to demo one but since they are custom facial inteface might be difficult.
Yeah this changes things because now PSVR2 can not only give all the Playstation experiences but all that PC stuff That Quest can play as well. Hearing that it made me check PSVR2 again and it seems right now is on sale so I jumped on it. Being able to experience those great Playstation titles and at the same time play Half-life Alyx on it is just amazing. The cables are still an issue though but sorry to say the 2hours at best Quest manages are not something that makes me see it as true wireless.
Been saying for ages now, I want an arcade racer even though I absolutely LOVE gt7 online when I get a chance to play. I also want tomb raider in vr. Old school TR though not the new stuff too much collecting gets annoying. Something this review didn't point out is roomscale setting on psvr2 kind of sucks if you don't have a really open room. It just won't let you play.
I had both for 2 days and returned the PSVR2. Couldn't really see myself using it after messing with the Quest 3. After a few 3rd party accessories like a new facial interface w/ cushion and a 3rd party head strap the Quest 3 is just phenomenal. Granted I do have a pretty beefy PC so this only adds to the experience.
@@trelel1 I just liked the Quest better. No cord, can connect wirelessly to my PC and play all kinds of games off that. All the mixed reality stuff, all the different types of apps. I even figured out a way to connect to my phone and bring it up whenever I want. I just found it a better value as I would like to be able to do more than just play PSVR2 titles. I really didn't want to shell out more than $1000 for 2 headset and the Quest was the better choice for me.
@@dalewarren81you guys really dont get it. Psvr is extremely limited. It only plays the handful of games sony throws you. No apps. No media player. Just a joke tbh. RE4 isnt even my type of game. Imagine giving af about that.
Cool video, I gotta say tho.. you’re completely wrong about the PSVR2 gaming catalog. Horizon is alright and impressive as a tech demo, Firewall is pretty good, first VR game running unreal engine 5 and has really cool graphical features (admittedly not for everyone), GT7 is insanely good (feels like actually driving any car you want however you want), Re8 and Re4 are the most incredible VR experiences to date, No man’s Sky is an amazing and truly unique experience. You simply can’t have any of that on quest, not even close. PSVR2 is for people who want as close to pancake fps gaming as possible in terms of quality and experience. Meta is for mobile and mixed reality. So yeah different niches, different strokes for different folks. I prefer PSVR2 for the reasons stated above, I think if you have a PS5 already and want to try VR, PSVR2 is more than worth it.
Never enjoyed Firewall and GT7. Just my experience. What is "pancake fps gaming"? Also you mustn't forget PCVR option for Meta. In reality PSVR 2 is more niche product, even for just gaming, excluding all mixed reality media consumption fluff. PCVR has often better graphics and cheaper prices. I would say people should consider both headsets, even if they have or have not PS5, but can't say that PSVR 2 is always a good idea
I own pretty much every headset ever made up to the current high end ones yet to be released (the Beyond and crystal are my most recent) and I have to say - the Quest 3 is great! Just get it if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed . Are there better headsets on the horizon? yes, but this really is great and I don't think anyone will regret purchasing one.
@@Chadman333 It's great! It's got a micro-OLED display and is super light. It makes VR a totally different experience than any of the other headsets because you don't feel any weight shifting around on your head and can move it around naturally - There's nothing else like it. The Crystal has better lenses and a little bit higher resolution but the Beyond is really stunning when you get in night time or high shadow environments...I use it almost exclusively now.
I've used lots of vr headsets and the psvr2 is absolutely dreadful. Even the metaquest 2 and occulus s which are both pretty old now are better than psvr2. Sony should sell it for £200 at most as its dreadful at the price they are charging
@@darthvaderthegamecat Quest as a solo unit does a fair job of running games. Quest 3 is much better. But I use it as a PC passthrough and the screen resolution and lenses make it amazing for the price. The controllers are far better too than psvr2, with full finger tracking and better motion response. Psvr2 is insanely overpriced for the quality of the tech inside it.
Standalone - PSVR2 can't do anything without being tethered to a PS5 - Quest3 can do Mixed Reality, wireless VR gaming hands tracking, color pass-through and watch movies on Bigscreen PSVR2 tethered to a ps5 can only play psvr games But when Quest3 connected to a PC it is capable of high-end PCVR, wireless gaming, Consoles & Arcade emulation (New RetroArcade: Neon, 3dsen, Dolphin VR, EmuVR) delivering the best graphically and immersive VR gaming experiences.
You are incorrect when you say there are not many titles you can play on PSVR2 that you can’t play on Quest: Horizon Call of the Mountain, GT7, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Synapse… to name only a few. There are also more and more games that uses the Foveated Rendering and eye tracking, including Horizon and Synapse.
I need some honest advice. Console gaming/pc gaming is feeling kinda boring the last couple of months. Till GTA6 comes out I need something new in my life..😂 Should I get the PS5 VR2 or a steam deck?
I love Quest and would never go back ti Sony. However, there is one huge advantage to PSVR2 that I can't get with Quest... yet. They have a superior racing title (Grand Turismo) that you can actually play with an existing wheel peripheral. I love racing, and I have yet to see a comparable experience available on Quest... yet. I am forever the optimist. Lol.
Missed detail on cost. PS Subscription for online play is gonna cost more in the long run than any accessory and after it's lifespan servers are gonna close. you can't say the same for pcvr/quest platform. Speaking facts as a long time sony console and psvr1owner.

All valid points, good video! You already said it yourself, if you want to experience VR and already own a PS5, go PSVR 2. If you don't, it's easier and cheaper to go for a Quest 3. There's no real winner here, just go according to your preferences as they're both good!
Playstation is a winner for people who play flat screen games aswell. For VR Quest wins
Probably the most sensible thing I’ve read and helped me make up my mind to get the kids (myself) the psvr2 for Christmas.
@@thehound1359 Cool, glad i can help! Enjoy your future PSVR 2, it's bloody amazing!
@@cipri198zero Flat games look better on Quest 3 using VD, VorpX, or Steam Link
I like cables.
yep. I'm hoping the RE 4 remake will be available for VR soon.

lucky enough to have them both...amazing in their own ways
yep, between my PSVR2, Quest 3, and high-end VR PC, I have all my bases covered. :)
@@NintenPizzaI need next quest to have DisplayPort to usbc like psvr has
I have both but I buy games on PSVR2 if they are available on both system because I like the better trophy hunting on PS5, the much better graphics, the better immersion in total darkness (Quest does not isolate sunlight) and the BIGGEST reason: You friends and family can watch what you're doing flawlessly on a TV.
Horizon most over rated stupid game
@@User_92020VR version yes this very stupid game, but not for Horizon Forbidden West it's beautiful game
I own both, but I think what really drives these hardware is the software. Personally I love GT7 on PSVR2 so I use it more than the Quest 3.
well, it needs both, theres no need for good software, if i cant stand certain points of the hardware.
I have both. I’ve always told people I would pay for the PSVR2 just for GT7 alone.
That game and the VR Headset has changed Console Racing.
You need to get a gaming PC if you don't already own one. Quest 3 is an amazing wireless PCVR headset
Mixed reality is a gimmick. I play VR to escape the real world, don’t bring the real world to my games.
Same here, my psvr2 catches a lot of dirt now.
Did she mention ps5 give u a bad home console with 1000 of games ?
@@Slyfox1775 1000s of $70 games, yeah. Games on Quest 3 are a lot cheaper.
The main reason why I recently bought Quest 3 instead of PSVR2 is because of PCVR hook up and Half-Life Alyx. That game blew my mind! I am planning to get PSVR2 for my PS5 eventually when I have the time and the funds.
Don't man I got burned by it, there's a few great games but the lenses suck and screen is worse than quest 3
Do it! The PSVR2 is awesome!
@Jdb63 I just got it. I was not impressed by it. PSVR2 isn't as clear as Quest 3. Quest 3 is better than PSVR2 in all categories except the OLED. But, GT7 is amazing in PSVR2!
@agonyp2643 dang bro if only u saw my comment I maybe could've saved u 600 bucks
@@NintenPizza That's pretty awesome to hear! I'll have to try RE4 again now I have a Quest 3
I'm not a fan of spec comparisons. There is SO much more to the actual experience of using a product, which can change wildly from person-to-person based on their likes/needs.
Exactly games are all I care about
yeah but how we can compare a device? Probably not by specs, yes. But people needs comparison to choose something
I have both and they complement each other well.
Unfortunately your timing was a bit too early. Resident evil 4 remake vr is out on PSVR 2 this coming Friday
And it’s amazing
It’s something else
Good comparison. You are the only reviewer I have seen to cover prices of software between systems. No one ever does that, despite its obvious importance in a comparison of ecosystems.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. Ya prices are sort of important! lol
My situation exactly. There's room for both
@@FunTimes.7 no one care what your talking about so just keep your wise cracks to yourself
Well said
Do people really use mixed reality long term? wow
I have both as well. I only play games on quest that have a good chance of not coming to psvr2 and when i travel. However, if a game is on both i am playing with the psvr2. If you use pcvr for this comparison then you have to factor in price gap once adding a 1500+ computer.
You mean using a computer many people already have.
Or using a ps5 many people already have😉
you dont need a 1500+ computer to play vr its not 2015 anymore
@@Blobby192 What's the most affordable GPU that can run VR?
I have a PS5 and a pretty decent PC and I think I'll go with the Quest 3 as the limited library on the PSVR2 puts me off. Will give it a couple of weeks to have a think and possibly wait for any post-Christmas sales.
Limited library however there really good games
I have both and while they both have their unique benefits, I think you've made a right choice. Quest store + PCVR store will definitely give you a lot of games
Yup I miss my quest. So many good games on quest and also social apps like bigscreen
Don’t forget when u have ps5 and psvr2 while slightly more your getting a bad ass system for 2d gaming as well !
Or a quest 3 with a pc....you get even a super badass gaming machine
"DoNt fOrgEt" with a pc youll get much better graphics and an even better bad ass system for 2d gaming.. *yawn*
@FatBunny168 nah, i left 98 percent of PC gaming years ago. The only games I use my PC for RTS games.
I have the game and the headset but never sucked in
As she is saying their aren't any new exclusive titles for psvr2 for a while the camera pans down and shows Firewall 2 lol
They've released more 1st party vr games than any other headset within the same time frame.
Firewall Ultra is a crap
Those amazing 1st party tech demos by Sony vs full AAA games such as Asgard’s wrath 2. Not to mention quest 3 has the full q2 library and all the full pcvr library as well.
@@chan13153RE8, GT7 are tech demos to you? Asgards Wrath is AA without question. But by default CAPCOM is a triple A studio. Get your facts right.
I’m sure many questers share your feeling! Quest 3 is so hard not to love
That repair place is crazy. They charge $479 for a full repair. That’s how much a new one is.
😂
Might aswell buy a new one then 🤔
Nice comparison reviews, thanks! PSVR2 isn't on sale price surprisingly like the PSVR1 was for this time of November 2023.
The only thing keeping the psvr2 competitive with the Quest 3 is their killer game Gran Turismo 7. No Quest 3 racing game can compete with that game.
And re8 and upcoming re4
PSVR2 is killing it with game titles
And the walking dead saints and sinners 1 and 2 the best versions are on psvr2
@@chrisrogers548 I just picked up chapter 2 earlier this week! It’s incredible!
Same, I own both as well. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
💯. I have both and love both, but the GAMING experience on PSVR2 is a level above. The Q3 is great for social games, watching movies, doing work, and playing a few exclusives
@@Jdb63 it's only "a lvl above" to you because you dont do pcvr assetto corsa mods/forza horizon/DCS/Ms flight sim in vr.

I originally bougt After the fall on Quest 2, and man that gane is ugly on Quest 2, 2 weeks ago i bougt it on sale on PSVR2 and wow what a difference, its actially good and playable. Looks good to😎
PSVR2 has only been out since february.
The ONLY thing I dislike with the PSVR2 is the cable. Quest 2 spoiled me in that regards.
I wouldn't mind the cable if the PSVR2 mura and crappy fresnel lenses were fixed. Oh, and the lack of any off-ear audio is just ridiculous.
Two points to consider. One, with the PSVR2 you still have the option with many games to play outside of VR if the VR environment gets to be too much. Two, with the announcement from Sony to make the PSVR2 PC compatible this year, it might elevate this option far beyond the value you would get from the Quest.
Just a few things to consider:
PSVR2 - 120hz does NOT stem from the hardware, it is game dependent just like the Quest 3.
Contrast is superior etc
In clarity though the Quest 3 wins by a mile.
Quest 3:
Strap - a range of comfort options, everything from halo to clamshell designs.

Only the (old) original RE4 is playable standalone on Quest 2 and 3.
You cant really go wrong with either choice
For higher budget AAA games and horror- PSVR2 is the better choice with the OLED screen, blacks and better haptics
For more active games and titles you want to jump in and play for 30 mins, Quest 3 is also great as its so portable and versitle and a nice step up from Q2. Ive been playing it much more than Q2.
You excluded Quest 3 PCVR options. Yet OLED screen and better haptics are nice adition, yeah.
META stopped requiring you to link a FB account end of last year. This isn’t an issue.
Quest 3 was great, except for comfort. VR headsets are still too heavy and bulky, which is sad because it really is a cool experience.
You can buy different headstraps and faceplates to eliminate that.
They have a headstrap called Aubika which is super comfortable ......I would look at other straps to be honest @@TheExtraTerrestrial
Even if I would be a PS fanboy
the feed back from psvr 2 is crazy
but once you get into the motion of it
it just becoming something you stop thinking about
I never make it a habbit so I do not notice it. It always awesome thing for me, the haptics. However I use Quest 3 more often
30% off any game shows up like one a month for me on meta
Based on your thinking, I think you will be fine with just PSVR 2 for now
Quest 3 vs PCVR2 feels like android vs Apple, one locks you into its ecosystem and the other is more fre
but there are a lot more sides to this story really, not only the ecosystem one.
So they have the same for but you say the quests is disappointing?
I'll get a Quest 4 if it can match my PSVR 1 graphically without the need to buy a $1K+ PC.....til then I'll stick with Sony
@11:29 very diplomatic 😂great video again from you.
GET BOTH.
Bought a Q3...instantly sold the VR2. Mobile game ports and shovelware is all you get on PS for VR experiences. PC =unlimited VR fun.
Also...wires are pain in the neck.
Apparently, Sony just announced they're working on PC support for the PSVR2.
I got both and stop using my PSVR2 very shortly after getting my quest 3. The only time I pick it up is to play a triple A game to have a good look but other then that it's collecting dust. But here's the reasons you should get a meta over the psvr2.
Reason:
1.On line subscription to play online.
And it feels trash
What is that ipega charging station?
Can I get a link please
What is the Jellyfish thing in the background?
ive now tried the ps5vr2 for around 15 hours. yes i can see the mura but i really doesnt borther me. i wear glasses, which often are dirty, so its something i have very often irl. but what i cant stand, is the screendoor effect, because to me, its a telling, bright sign that permanatly there telling me "its just a game, look you can even see the space between the pixels" and since the quest 3 lenses are so clear, that SDE is more visbile then on the q3, i think its out
I can't see screen door effect on any of them...
then you eighter dont know what to look for, or your visus is not as good as mine. i heard people say the same thing about the index, which i really cant understand because its so obvious@@MrKinein
@@dharkbizkitMay be I don't know what to look for. I notice mura though, and it's kinda distracting.
Strangely enough the lenses of the Quest 3 caused me to notice the screen door effect MORE. Fresnels tend to mute the effect for me.
I found it very difficult to charge my psvr2 controllers.
I am stupid.
Just plug in a USB cable
I sold my psvr 2 so I could buy quest 3.I have had by far more fun with my quest 3.
how is the quest 3 perform alone without pc or any other device support? is it the same or lower performance?
It powered by the SnapdragonXR2 Gen 2 platform. It flies along nicely.
@@MartinSchmuckVRNice! I like PSVR 2 but I am shocked of the prices for a game, it's too much for me. Steam is better
Psvr 2 controllers: you get them broken you can’t buy them separately.

There is a pc adapter for the psvr2 that came out recently. Allows you to use it in pc as well.
I have both and I don't use my PSVR2 anymore. Lol.
Resident evil 4 remake is soooo good on ps vr2 trust me
Great review. I think The PSVR2 games look a ton better. But they both seem like they still have a lot of negatives. So, I will pass on both. We are still a ways away (probably 10-20 years) from getting a VR experience that we really want. Maybe longer.
I see no blur on the edges of my psvr2.
Maybe you should return it.
You have to try pancake lenses to see the difference
@@Hostile-VRPancake lenses are nice, but in my point of view not necessary to have a good a experience. But for beginners the large sweetspot is surely a benefit.
I dont have any problems with my psvr 2 it isn't blurry or anything the clarity is excrllent
Excellent even
More an issue of horrendously small sweet spot. Picture is clear in center of vision, with headset perfectly positioned. Move the headset 5mm out of position, and image is horrible. Quest 3 doesn't have that problem.
Meta Quest 3 is the only VR/mixed reality headset to own, in my opinion.
Ill keep with my psvr2 and my ps5 wich as got so many grate games
PSVR2 can connect with PC now so it will be interesting to see how things develop.
PSVR2 PC adapter was certified. would love to see an updated video when it launches
"Psvr2 only has horizon" GT7, RE8, RE4 remake, synapse, firewall (meh) and switchback.
"You cannot play flatscreen games on psvr2" ugh....yes you can
Been saying for ages now, I want an arcade racer even though I absolutely LOVE gt7 online when I get a chance to play.
Why would you return the psvr2 if you own the ps5...weird I call bs
@@trelel1 I just liked the Quest better. No cord, can connect wirelessly to my PC and play all kinds of games off that. All the mixed reality stuff, all the different types of apps.
What do you think of the Beyond?
@@Chadman333 It's great! It's got a micro-OLED display and is super light. It makes VR a totally different experience than any of the other headsets because you don't feel any weight shifting around on your head and can move it around naturally - There's nothing else like it.
The Crystal has better lenses and a little bit higher resolution but the Beyond is really stunning when you get in night time or high shadow environments...I use it almost exclusively now.
Ah yes, been keenly waiting for you to do a comparison like this!
I have a PSVR2 and it's far from perfect, so this will be very interesting, nice one

Standalone
- PSVR2 can't do anything without being tethered to a PS5

PSVR2 tethered to a ps5 can only play psvr games
But when Quest3 connected to a PC it is capable of high-end PCVR, wireless gaming, Consoles & Arcade emulation (New RetroArcade: Neon, 3dsen, Dolphin VR, EmuVR) delivering the best graphically and immersive VR gaming experiences.
Pcvr if you have a DOPE pc. I do not. How ever, I have a Ps5. So it makes more sense to me.
PSVR2 is the champ for me.
I need some honest advice. Console gaming/pc gaming is feeling kinda boring the last couple of months. Till GTA6 comes out I need something new in my life..😂 Should I get the PS5 VR2 or a steam deck?
What kind of games are you playing? And do you play any competitive games? Or just solo type stuff?
