I have found that anxiety/worry affects sleep, which then increases anxiety/worry-- the perfect vicious cycle!
The things that work for me to break that cycle:
    Meditation
Yoga (even 5 minutes a day; I think it helps release tension that is stored in the body)
Exercise (I don't sleep well unless I've had at least 20-minutes of exercise)
No food after 7 pm, especially sugar
    Hypnosis videos on UA-cam
    Focus on breathing

  • @unleashed2724

I occasionally get acid reflux, and it always causes anxiety for me. As a result my heart rate usually ends up being fast, after constantly brooding over whether I'm having a heart attack or heartburn, and whether I should get checked out at the hospital (which I've done twice already this past year, where the results always came healthy. And that there was no problem with my heart.) I really need a way to calm my mind, otherwise, I don't get a good night's sleep.
I do a lot of breathing exercises, but they don't really help me as much because, in my mind, I'm still thinking about acid reflux.

    • @cleverclovercreates3249
      @cleverclovercreates3249 Рік тому

I have health anxiety even though I have a great immune system.
I hope you get over it. Try to remember if every time you feel like this you react and think a certain way that it’s anxiety. You know you’re healthy. If you were having a heart attack you would know immediately. Anxiety can cause tons of physical symptoms too. Some you might not even know about. After awhile you recognize them.
Just try to remember you’re fine. You know you’re healthy. You know you get acid reflux. You know get anxiety. You know anxiety causes physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, tight chest and shortness of breath. ❤

I honestly don't believe in the common doctor. I don't mean their knowledge on their work, but the empathy they carry with them. Most doctors (from my personal experience so this is opinion) care more about the check, getting out of the office, or pushing that prescription pad. With that being said, You two are the complete opposite and this channel alone is the proof. You genuinely care for people , their health, and much more. You're here on these social media platforms creating something so much bigger than imagined. It's not only about the people you reach to help, but also reach to inspire. To be Caring doctors like you two. I pray God blesses you with all he has.

My best treatment is a long ride on my mountain bike on a technically challenging trail. You have no time to think of anything else, you exercise your body and relieve the mind of stress. The problems don’t go away but once you’ve had a good few hours break from worry, you can take on the challenge, refreshed and reenergised.

That's a good book, for sure, but I don't think it would eliminate chronic stress, worry, or anxiety, in most people. Key word being chronic. If it's a temporary roadblock, the book may help. But if you have suffered for years, you're going to need more than what Carnegie's book has to offer! Thanks for including this topic in your videos!

Christina Stavrou Bachman, if you can, please have a sleep study performed. Even if you can identify reasons for stress, worry, or insomnia, if you are suffering sleep apnea, it makes things ten times worse. I strongly encourage you to talk to your doctor and get a referral. Other clues that you suffer from sleep apnea include high blood pressure, dizziness, fatigue, confusion, low tolerance for noise, lack of enjoyment doing things you used to love, and inability to relax.

I've found I tend to pile too many tasks in a day, and so I'm overwhelmed with pressure against the clock which turns into stress, and every interruption that could be met with 'oh hey' turns into 'what now?!' - If little gets done, problems pile up, but if I work around the clock, I get stressed. Finding the happy intermedium with breaks whilst looking after your physical and mental health is possible but very tricky to pull off on a daily basis; especially as a single parent to a toddler and university student with no help. It's not the chores or duties that bother me, it's the hours in a day that become a threatening deadline. The more I rush, the less I'm self-aware. Then there's trying to fit in a social life to avoid loneliness in the evenings.

The Bible says don't worry about anything, pray instead about everything.
Worry means fear. So if anything causes you fear, don't think of it.
Bible says only think of the things in Heaven and not the things on earth. It says to be spiritually minded is peace.
Lay down unafraid and you'll sleep sweet. That's what the Bible says.
Another helpful thing is to not drink anything a couple hours before bed. This may help extend sleep duration. Keep the clock covered or turn it away before bed. Clock watching causes fear.

I was very fortunate in discovering this "oldie but goodie" ( first published 1945 ) some years ago and benefitted enormously by applying ( yep, ya gotta actually apply it, not just read it ) the suggestions contained therein. The Boys actually have presented one of their very best proposals yet but it can't be fitted into a youtube clip. If worry is a problem, give the book a shot- you'll thank The Boys later.

It sounds weird but it is literally a disorder for some! And it makes sense in some cases!

I think my high anxiety and ocd stress fuels my costochondritis. Which is just a vicious cycle. Anyone experience this? Trying to simultaneously heal my anxiety, nervous system dysregulation, and costo. :(

Yeah I might have ocd but idk because I worry every night and I have to keep touching things till they feel perfect but it never stops idk how to fix it and sometimes I have my mom up with me for like 30 minutes to 1 hour but I’m 11 almost 12 and I feel like this isn’t normal

The problem is our environment. From birth we're set up for failure to thrive. There's too many unpredictable things beyond our control which will take our meager livelyhoods away: loss of job, increasing bills, loss of housing. You have to work several jobs with no rest just to keep a roof and have food and pay for all necessary the extras (phone, car, gas) just to function. What kind of life is this?

Why does this video not produce trust and confidence in these two “doctors”, if they are even real doctors.

Insane how people were writing books about anxiety since'48. Clearly society destroyed the natural nervous system function.

Dale Carnegie wasn't the first one to come up with any of this it came from the Bible. Jesus said worry not... do not for the day has enough worry for itself,... you can't change even one hair on your head by worry. Lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He Shall direct thy path
